What an incredible read! This book completely hooked me from page one and has left me desperately ready for book two.
The story follows Cal, who comes home to the ranch after getting hurt, only to unwittingly walk right into the biggest secret of his life. The catch? He has no idea. The slow-burn romance and the journey of falling back in love with the woman he lost is absolutely top-tier.
What I loved most:
The Father-Son Dynamic: Even though Cal doesn't know the boy is his son, the way he treats him with respect is so heartwarming. He takes the time to teach him things that only a dad could teach while running a ranch, which completely melted my heart.
The High Stakes: Not only do you get the delicious drama of a massive secret, but there is also the added pressure of trying to save the town, keeping the plot moving at a perfect pace.
This book has the perfect mix of heart, small-town stakes, and undeniable chemistry. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend taking a trip to the Carver Ranch!.

Cal Carver has spent the past 14 years successfully chasing his dream around the rodeo circuit but the real prize is waiting for him back in the Montana mountains. An injury forces him back to his hometown where the embers of his past connection with Mara spark back to life. This story is about choices made for the sake of love and the ongoing consequences that make you wonder if Mara made the right choice all those years ago. Young Jimmy almost steals the show with his enthusiasm at the Carver ranch and Cal is naturally drawn to him without knowing the truth about his parentage. Against a backdrop of small town drama over water rights, Cal gradually realises that the family ranch and its heritage are an integral part of his soul. This is a beautifully written second chance romance and the HEA is well deserved.

Mara was all set to tell Cal she was pregnant. He showed up with his chance to go on the rodeo circuit, so she broke up with him and he left. Fourteen years later, he returns and still doesn't know he has a son. This is a story about love and the choices it forces us to make. It is a story of heartbreak and healing. It is a story of appreciating the land that we live on and family. It is an excellent read that drags you deep into emotions. It forces us to look at choices from both sides and at various times. I highly recommend it.

When gets home he discovers the woman he used to be sweet on, still in town but with a son. He sees it all but doesn’t see the truth if it until it unexpectedly gets hurled at him. Now he needs to figure out what he wants, and how to deal with the past. This is a wonderful family oriented romance.

This was a fantastic, beautiful story in the Montana mountains!!! The prequel, Beneath a Restless Sky, follows the beginning of a Montana ranch heritage. The Edge of Thunder follows the descendants and what a story it was! The book blurb was well written, and the book lived up to it. The book had an interesting storyline with lots of suspense, anxiety, action and love. I thank Ms. Grey for this story and will be looking for more books in her series!!!

I was so excited to receive my first ARC and it didn't disappoint!!!
Loved the characters, plot and spice.
Cal didn't know he was Jimmy's father but their relationship was strong.
Loved the yearning between Cal and Mara (Jimmy's mother).
Smalltown, second chance, first love and a fight to keep their land.
Even learned a bit about hydrology!!!!
Can't wait for the next book!!!

The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Honestly,I’m glad I picked this book up. I really enjoyed the romance, the ranch setting, and getting to know the characters. It kept me interested from beginning to end, and I’d definitely read the next book in the series. If you enjoy cowboy romances and second chance love stories, I think you’ll enjoy this one too.

I love the yearning and spice! Who wouldn't fall in love with a boy who has turned into man and owned up to it. Second chances tug at the heart strings. This is such a great read!
