Meh

This book was a slog to get through. There was nothing driving our protagonist other than the vague need to get stronger so that he could meet people as equals or something? The previous books had a better balance of a driving force, on this one I had to skim through the excessive number of pages hunting acid slugs. The ending was interesting, but of course it ends on a cliffhanger because why on Earth would people have stories with resolutions. I read this book though, I will read the next one because the universe created within this book series has been interesting enough to warrant so. To the author though, each book must have a self-contained plot and goal even if the intent is to continue a larger storyline through multiple books. You did not accomplish that here.

Best! Book! Evarrr!

Huzzah! Best! Book! Evarrr! I love Edge Vasher and his team of companions, Melenia, Sasha, Jumo, Sakura, Trapper, and of course Rue his fox. But the best part is his Sapient Spells! This book starts as they reach the city, Worlds End. With the hopes of finding allies and bartering for goods that will improve their own Puppet Town! And each and everyone have their own plans to increase their abilities and level up! To gain leverage when negotiating with the powerful entities running the Factions. And in Worlds End they discover three Factions! By joining up with one of those Factions they start making headway! But first there's monsters to kill! More than they could've imagined...
So yeah AwesomeSauce grab the book and power-up!

Here's a quote:

“You look like a disco ball. Add a fog skill and some lasers, and you’ll be a portable party.”

I suggest waiting

Another book. Another disappointment.

I was really hoping that there would be some progress that would make it feel that Edge is powerful (besides the same stuff from the past 2 books), but that was wishful thinking.

The book stretches over about 3-4 weeks. There are several minor upgrades and MAYBE one "decent" upgrade to Edge. Still waiting on the BIG upgrade. And judging by how this series is has went thus far, I honestly would not be surprised if Edge is still in the same spot at the end of next book (I would be surprised if it happens before halfway).

For a series that started out so well, I am thinking the next book may be my last depending on how it goes
