Krall said to "DESTROY ALL ROBOTS!!"

So we did.

As a reader this is a genre mash-up of everything under sun used to murder a ROBOT.

My overall favorites:

*Night of the Ratchets - Grant Wamack
*The Slave Robots of Zurich
*Burst - DJ Tyrer
*Self Service - Stephan Imri-Knight

I really wanted to like this book even though I am a robot lover, not a robot fighter. I bought this because I really like Jordan Krall's work but I didn't notice until afterwards that he was just the editor and this was an anthology.

The first problem I had was that the quality of the stories was quite uneven and overall I truly liked less than half of them. The good ones were really fun but the others just felt like a slog to get through.

The second problem was technical in nature because I noticed quite a few improper word choices (e.g. whetting instead of wetting), misspellings and a couple of times sentences that just abruptly ended at the halfway point as if a bunch of words had been deleted. I used to be very put off at this type of thing but mellowed out about it. I think that I saw this so often in this book that it kept breaking my immersion.

I should have knocked this out in half the time it did because I just didn't look forward to picking it back up. Much as I would like to I just can't recommend this one.
