Rate this book
When a powerful storm hits Sweetwater Falls.
No one expected the tragic aftershock that would soon follow.

After her husband’s death, FBI agent Spenser Song’s world crumbled.
She moved to Sweetwater Falls and left the bureau behind, hoping for a fresh start.
As the sheriff of Sweetwater, Spenser has had to solve many dark and twist-filled cases.
When a body is discovered after a powerful storm.
Spenser is brought to the crime scene to investigate.

The victim is identified as Kaya Tabaaha, a local environmental activist.
Two years ago, Kaya suddenly vanished.
Leaving loved ones behind with many unanswered questions.
Following the cold trail, Spenser finds that some in town would rather Kaya’s story remain
forever buried.

What begins as a murder investigation soon exposes a dark underworld of old grudges, grave corruption, and an insatiable appetite for power.

Determined to find Kaya’s killer, Spenser follows a complex path through the polished façades of Sweetwater Falls.
Uncovering disturbing secrets in a web of greed and deceit that runs deeper than anybody imagined.
While Kaya's case is ongoing, new evidence of corruption and a cover-up sheds light on the Blue Card Killer’s true identity.
And his next victim might be someone close to Spenser.

With Ryker Makawi by her side, Spenser finds that hope alone is enough.
Hope that even in immense darkness, light will find a way through.
That all truth buried will be brought to light, and evil will have its day of reckoning.

In Sweetwater Falls, secrets never disappear.
They simply lie buried in the ground, festering, and waiting to be unearthed.
And when some truths are brought into the light, they can prove to be lethal.

The storyline starts with gruesome info on "the Blue Card Killer" however, don't think this book in the series is going to give you answers. It was barely mentioned and the investigation keeps getting punted forward to the "next" in the series-we have been waiting a few installments now.

That said, a rainstorm has uncovered a skeletonized body at building site of a new luxury housing development. Turns out it's approx. two years old and no ID beyond a bracelet is found. Sheriff Spenser Song & her sidekicks are on the case. They dig deep, find the identity and the killer who had a long term plan for the killing.

There is also the theft of the "queen's crown" from a local pageant. The director of which is abrasive, insulting and just plain rude who feels solving the theft trumps murder. It's the "lite" side of the storyline, giving a bit of comic relief.

Read the series!

Book 20 was one that was hard to put down. Especially near the end. My favorite parts are the respect the main character, Sheriff Song, shows to other law enforcement in other jurisdictions when she needs to enter their counties or reservation. I especially loved the continued healing she is making with the local tribe after the former sheriff and deputies inflicted so much pain.

This is a story about greed and coming in second. It's pretty clean with only hints of foul language. No blatant sex. My kind of book. But the forensics are detailed in a factual, not grisly way. This series is about murder. And all but one storyline is solved. Then we are holding our breath waiting for more details to that that story!

Okay, I can breathe now. Gotta wait.

Buried in the Falls Review

This is a honest review for book 20 of the Sweetwater Falls series. This book like all of Elle Grays book keeps you guessing until the end. I love reading a book that doles out a littles extra vengence to the killer, makes it even more satiafying. The twist and turns are very evident. Its very refreshing to see Spenser getting slowly accepted by the reservation people. This book will leave you wanting more as Spenser gets even closer to catching the "Blue Card Killer!" Thank you and keep them coming Elle Gray.

Sweetwater Falls has got some crazies, in that place. I'm amazed that people are not getting out of town. All the realtors are UT for blood on a simple development. Come on beauty pageants are unbelievable, so worried about the Crown. That woman could have cared less about the death of a young woman.

More worried about land, and who controls what. I'm not sure what's going on with The Blue Card killer, just my 2 cents ,it's the new doc and the dead bodies.

Ready for the next book.

Excellent story

What a heart breaking story. It is just sickening what greed, entitlement and the hunger for power will do to people. I enjoy this series and the great cast of characters, but how about bringing in the rest of the sheriff staff? It seems like Spencer, Amanda and Jacob are the only officers doing anything.

I love Sheriff Song!

Elle Gray never disappoints with her stories. Spencer is up against a hard case this time. But her crew digs deep and solves it. I just couldn’t put it down. I love the stories and the twists and turns Ms Gray takes you through to get to the end. Then she leaves you just hanging waiting for the next thrilling book!

Another fantastic addition to this series

This was an intriguing story with a few mysteries, some intense situations, lots of humor and exasperation (lol!!), and many unexpected twists. It's certainly not a story or series to be missed.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Another Win for Spenser

This book, from page one, was riveting. Having Spenser and her team work on 3 cases was such an interesting twist. This book had humor (the stolen pageant crown), heartbreak (the murder of Kaya and the reactions of her family & Mr. Harmon) and terror (the serial killer). I can’t wait for the next book.

sweetwater falls

Sheriff Song has her work cut out for her. A young girl murdered, a missing crown and a whole lot of gossip running through town as usual. Always somebody trying to tell her how to do her job. Money is always in the mix, lots of money. Looking very forward to the next installment.

Sweetwater Falls Trio On Fire

Spenser, Amanda & Jacob are always entertaining. Add a dash of snarky, and you have an entertaining story about greed & conceit that leads you on a whirlwind chase around the Valley.
