Volume 2 was even better than volume 1. It's beginning to appear that Kyouma Mabuchi and Mira Yurizaki will be a sort of Holmes and Watson set in the future. The mysteries will drive the individual volumes with an overarching story in the background. On to volume 3.
Volume two starts with the climax of the Loser heist. The unraveling of this plot and how it was carried out is fascinating! Not to mention the identity of Loser and what his real purpose was. This plot is definitely one that will be continued throughout the series as we discover the importance of the number coils. And although we find out a bit more about Mabuchi and see a softer side of him, I’m still not overly keen on his character. The main story of volume two centred around the kids that mess around and prank Mabuchi and the score system that chains every civilian. I really enjoyed this story not to mention felt a little uneasy as it is not hard to imagine our world going down the same path. The plot is clever, appealing, and thought provoking. To end we get a little snippet of what the next volume has in store which really compels you to keep reading this series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

The mysteries only get deeper and deeper as more and more characters reveal secrets about the coils. Secrets about dimension W; secrets about Mabuchi's past; secrets about Loser; secrets about Mira. We also get to explore the new society that the coils made possible, particularly the educational system. What other changes has society gone through since the discovery of Dimension W? All these questions!!! I need the next book!
While still compelling, volume 2 doesn't bring too much in the way of story development. The beginning adds a bit of depth to the mystery of the coils, and then the rest of the book splits off into a filler mystery. A really fun series overall still - I just hope the next volume is a little more plot-heavy.
