She escaped him once. She knows she's not likely to get a second chance.

Faith Lewis thought she'd buried her past and had finally started building something worth having. She had a new name, and a new life—all with a man who saw her clearly and loved the person she was. But Richard Lewis doesn't let go of what he considers his, and he makes sure that everyone who crosses him pays the price.

Seven James has spent months clawing his way back from the wreckage of what he did—and what it cost. Getting Faith out is the only thing that matters. But the plan is dangerous, the window is narrow, and the woman he's trying to save may not survive the rescue.

Their love is messy and complicated and not easy to forget.

But it's theirs. And they're not giving it up without a fight.

Always Us is book two of the Almost Us duology and should be read after Almost Us. It's a story about redemption, found family, healing and finding your person when it all seems impossible.

Hi, I'm Jenni Chris.
I write dark, emotionally charged stories for readers who aren't afraid of the complicated parts — love wrapped in scars, characters who bleed on the page, and the kind of psychological depth that stays with you long after the last page.
My characters are messy, flawed, raw — and real. They break. But they always fight to put themselves back together, piece by jagged piece.
My debut duet Beautiful Scars explores the beautiful, sometimes brutal space between wanting and having, pain and forgiveness. And my upcoming Almost Us duology introduces two of my most beloved characters yet — two deeply broken people with secrets that can destroy them.
If you've ever been drawn to the darker corners of fiction — where the pain is real, the healing is earned, and nothing is ever simple — you'll feel at home here.
When I'm not writing, you'll find me enjoying quiet moments, wrestling my TBR list, or soaking in the wild stillness of the western mountains I call home.

Always Us was an absolutely beautiful conclusion to the Almost Us story. As a domestic violence survivor myself, this book hit close to home in ways I didn’t expect.

Jenni Chris handled difficult topics with compassion, authenticity, and care. This story is about resilience, healing, love, and the strength it takes to move forward after trauma. The journey from victim to survivor isn’t easy—it’s a conscious choice made every single day—and this book captured that beautifully.

Molly and Seven are wonderfully flawed characters. They have both been shaped by their experiences, yet together they find understanding in a way that feels genuine and earned. Their story is raw, emotional, and ultimately hopeful.

This book shows how broken life can leave us, but it also reminds us that healing is possible. For anyone who has ever had to rebuild themselves after hardship, this story may speak to you.

An epic ending to a beautiful journey. Highly recommend.

I rec'd Almost Us and Always Us as an ARC and this story grabs you from the first word! I was up until 1am, finishing Always Us and it was worth it!! I usually end up frustrated with the FMC, but I loved her. Seven and Molly have a real story and Jenni keeps hold of the real world, throughout the story. All of the smaller details pull it together. I'm a visual person so the only area I would have wanted more detail with, would have been surrounding Richard's actions. Otherwise, the emotion, the stories, the ppl were all, so vivid! The writing in every duet gets better and better! I can't wait to see the next story!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this author, if you haven't already read her work!

Absolutely loved this whole Duet. This was a book I didn't want to put down. The story was absolutely captivating and at points made me feel as though I was in the book. I love the connection between Seven and Molly through out both books. From start to finish the duet is within my top 10 books ever. The ending will leave you on the edge of your seat and turning the page.

This was such a wonderful book to read. Seven and Molly were so great together. This story pulled me in from the beginning, and I didn’t put it down until I finished it. It was so well written with such a beautiful depth. The emotions, and just the story itself was amazing. I can’t quit to read more from this author.

I received this as an arc from Pen Pinery and am leaving a voluntary review.

What can I say? I was hooked by the end of Almost Us and was craving the answers to all my questions to the cliff hanger ending. Always Us definitely delivered! Molly and Seven developed an amazing relationship and there were so many emotions throughout the book that kept me hooked.
