The Baker and the Innkeeper: A Closed-Door Small-Town Romance

Cute little story. Very fast paced. Good cozy quick read.

I enjoyed the idea of story and the writing was done very well. I could not get past the writing style foe this type of book. Everything was some type of analogy, it was very rare for it to be written straight forward. It seemed like it was wrote as if the characters were writing it but gave no indication that was what was happening. It just felt wrong for a small town romance.

Delightful
Stumbled upon this one by accident … and I have never been happier.
What a delightful read, wonderful characters and the town is everything!
Every town or Inn character is memorable and all are required to give this story the life it deserves.
Very much looking forward to Wrens story.

I usually go for super spicy romances, so I was a little hesitant about picking up a closed-door one. But honestly? Turns out this book is the perfect palate cleanser.
The grumpy/sunshine trope is one of my favorites and Graham and June definitely fit the definition.. they balanced each other out very well. Their relationship felt natural. And when they finally got together it felt totally earned. And The Nightingale Inn and that little Maine town completely stole my heart.
There wasn’t a lot of plot twists or anything crazy but it didn’t really fell like it needed it. Even without any spice, the romance never felt like it was missing anything. Just a comforting cozy read. Curious to know what happens next for Wren, so I’m definitely gonna read the next book!

More than just a romance
A pastry chef who leaves her life behind to accept a job at an Inn on an island that was offered to her on the phone by someone who had tasted her patties at an event. An Innkeeper who has been running the in for a decade and puts his entire focus into the running, managing, repairing and upkeep of the Inn. A family who has been less than optimal since the death of their parents. Learning that one must voice what is in their heart and not make assumptions. Looking forward to Book 2.

A cute cozy read. The characters are easy to connect with and the story is written well. I look forward to reading more by this author.
