One of my students told me these National Geographic Kids books are great and I have to agree. Nonfiction features are present and make the information easier to read. The photographs are beautiful.
Enjoy that National Geographic uses pictures to further bring home their text. Takes understanding to a deeper level which is critical at this age as kids start to understand the world outside of their own circle.
This series of early readers are awesome. Titles include Frogs, Meerkats,Ponies, Tigers, and even Robots. Great way to get your budding reader interested in reading AND non-fiction. Engaging facts and photos.
This book gave me the vocabulary I was lacking about these creatures and pictures of a few more such as snail. I didn't know what bird exactly it was which was labeled as a predator but maybe a stork. So I thought this was a good ecological resource aimed at children.
Genre: Informational Unique Feature: The images: they are all real images of turtles. Grade: This book seems to be aimed for Kindergarteners and first graders, but I think that second and third graders could also enjoy this book.
