The Lurian Galaxy is in darkness.

Worlds burn beneath the rule of the Venukai, rebellions rise and fall in blood, and beyond the Black Gate an ancient darkness waits to be unleashed. With the Goddess of the Sky stolen and the gods themselves divided, the future of Luria hangs by a thread.

On the occupied planet of Vælth, Kyanna lives as the Forge Keeper, secretly arming a rebellion she knows cannot win. But when her path collides with the Saviour of Vælth, a warrior chosen by Tevrūn, God of War, to break the Black Gate, she discovers that her life has been shaped by forces older than the gods themselves.

As gods wage war, ancient powers awaken, and the boundaries between worlds begin to fracture, Kyanna must rise into her destiny. For the freedom of her people is only the beginning, and the choices she makes will determine the fate of the galaxy.

In a saga of rebellion, sacrifice, love, and destiny, the greatest battle will not be against darkness, but against Fate himself.

“Maloa sa’li vaenoa.” I love you beyond this life.

This book literally transports you to another galaxy filled with Gods and monsters where Ashaya (sacred light) flows through everything and Kari (darkness) tries to take it all away. This story follows our FMC Kyanna through her trials and tribulations as one of the leaders of the rebellion. She is such a strong, powerful woman and force of nature who you can’t help but root for. Along the way she faces choices that will make or break the fight and face some devastating losses that will shape the kind of person she is to become.
This book is filled with epic battles, found family, and so many twists and turns to keep you turning the page. The author weaves a complex and emotional story that makes you fall in love with her characters. The world building is beautifully done, making you feel like you too are fighting through the darkness.
This book has the masterful world building of Star Wars, epic battles of Throne of Glass, and heartbreak of Game of Thrones. I can’t wait for more of this story and to read more by F. Sharpe.

Okay, first of all, the AUDACITY. Killing off characters like she’s Rebecca Yarros. Unbelievable.

Felicity, you did something incredible here. The world building is so immersive and interesting; I could read this 2 more times and probably still pick up on lore that I missed previously. And because I was so wrapped up in the world, I missed how much I started loving the characters until I was suddenly sobbing from emotional damage. There are plot twists, unique takes on tropes (I’m looking at you, miscommunication), hidden identities, and so much more.

This book did not disappoint, and I CANNOT wait for more of this world.

Ashaya is the first book in F. Sharpe's Lurian Series, and this book completely transported me into a new world.
The Lurian Galaxy is a fascinating place, filled with gods and goddesses whose flaws have created political strife, suppression, and injustice. The world-building felt epic and immersive, and I loved the feeling of discovering this world alongside the characters.
Kyanna is exactly the kind of FMC I love. She is strong, fierce, protective of her people, and unwilling to stand by when she sees injustice. There were so many moments where I found myself wondering what I would do in her position. She is the kind of character that makes you want to fight beside her.
And the men in her life are just as fierce. I'll just say there were several moments where my reaction was basically, glad it's you and not me.
There is something incredibly immersive about the way F. Sharpe writes this world. It feels epic, beautiful, and breathtaking, and by the end, I was ready to dive even deeper into the Lurian Galaxy.
I cannot wait to continue this fight, learn more about Kyanna, and see where this story takes the people we've met.
If you're looking for an immersive fantasy with a fierce FMC and a world that feels like there's so much more waiting to be uncovered, put Ashaya on your TBR.
Thank you to F. Sharpe for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange of an honest review.

The beginning of the book starts with an intense world and character build. As someone who struggles to just remember the main characters names, it was a bit rough, but also a personal issue. I referenced the terminology list a lot. Once my brain finally assisted in remembering what everything meant, I was hooked.

You get emotionally attached to the characters, both good and bad, right away.

Kyãnna is a strong FMC with the world on her shoulders. She's reincarnated and battles against the will of meddling gods, but this isn't your typical rebirth story. I had a love/hate relationship with Andrūm. I honestly wanted to strangle him more times than not. Jæk grew on me. By the end, I was rooting for him. I still can't figure out how I feel about Khayden.

The ending is heartbreaking and finishes on a cliffhanger. I can't wait for book 2!

In a saga of rebellion, sacrifice, love, and destiny, the greatest battle will not be against darkness, but against Fate himself.

if that doesn't give you the reason to read...I don't know what will!! ASHAYA spoke to me on so many levels that I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!

The FMC is probably one of my favorite I've read, because what's more badass than a 40 year old leading the rebellion (I turn 40 in November so this lit a fire in my soul that I too could do amazing things).

The way that F. Sharpe writes and character builds and forms worlds is simply amazing...I felt like I was right there leading the rebellion with Kyanna!

iIf you have not pre-ordered yet, I encourage you to do so. you're missing out on one of the best Sci-Fi Romantasies I've read this year!!

I seriously can NOT WAIT for book 2!!

My gods. What an absolute honor it has been to read this masterpiece before it officially releases.
Felicity, you are a goddess among women. This book is everything and I cannot wait to read more.
The FMC is the most badass of any I have ever read. She’s determined, fierce, and never wavers in what she believes. It is refreshing to finally read fantasy with an FMC who is older than me for once. Don’t get me wrong, I love ACOTAR, Empyrean, ToG, etc, but it is a joy to read fantasy featuring a woman I can actually relate to. Give me that life experience fueled self-assurance all day, every day.

I want to re-read this now just to enjoy it all over again.

Incredible. Genuinely incredible.

I wish I could give you more than 5 stars.

In a galaxy far, far away, a planet teeters on the brink of war. Ashaya, the first book in the Lurian Series, plunges you into an epic clash of light versus dark.
We follow Kyanna, a forge keeper crafting weapons for a desperate rebellion. Torn between the man she loves and the warrior destined to save her people, she’s forced to question everything—and confront the very gods she swore to serve—as her world falls into darkness.
F. Sharpe builds a beautifully tragic universe with poetic prose that just pulls you right in. Through the shifting POVs of Kyãnna, Jæk, and Andrūm, you feel every heartbreak and triumph as they gear up to face the ruthless Venukai Reapers.
If your reading heart craves found family, fierce feminine rage, chosen-one vibes, a delicious slow burn, serious “touch her and die” energy, and epic galactic wars—you are going to absolutely devour Ashaya.

F. Sharpe has outdone herself, yet again! The world is as lush as the characters living inside it. Keyanna is a FMC worth her salt with much to lose and lost already. Her relationships are dynamic and complex, fully affecting her choices. The Lurian Galaxy is so well crafted that it's a delicious escape from real life. And let me tell you, this author KNOWS how to write a fight scene!!

I wish I could read it again for the first time, and now that I am fully invested in Keyanna's story I can't WAIT to learn everything there is to know. I will be purchasing all future installments and anything F. Sharpe writes. She is a true wordsmith!

Thank you to the incredible author, F. Sharpe for choosing me to ARC read this beauty! Where to start…. I absolutely loved this story, and can’t wait for the second book. Now, I will say I had been in a bit of a reading slump so it took me a hot minute longer than normal to knock it out. And I struggled the first half to get the world building and mythology straight in my head. But…. Once I made it to the half way point I devoured the rest in just a few days. Love where it’s going and can’t wait for more!

When I tell you this book had me in a chokehold!!! It will also keep you up at night. Felicity did an amazing job. The world building is next level. I am obsessed with this book. I wish I had more to read, because I neeeeeed to know what happens. But I will warn you, there is some emotional damage. I was not expecting to lose who we did, and I cried (gave me fourth wing flashbacks). My mind was spiraling the whole time, trying to figure out certain things. Annnnnd…I didn’t figure it out. I got some stuff right, but I was not expecting THAT. She kept me right where she wanted me, eating right out of palm of her hand.

Also it was soooo refreshing to read about an FMC that’s isn’t 18yrs old, she’s 40 and a badass. She never wavers in her beliefs. This book is like Star Wars, When the Moon Hatched, and Avatar had a baby, but much faster paced which I loved. There is found family, light vs dark, galactic wars, dragons, rebellion, prophecy, secret identities. Did I mention chosen family? lol the YEARNING is delicious. This book is most definitely high fantasy. Everyone should read this masterpiece.

Wow, wow, WOW! This is an absolute masterpiece to say the least. This was something I haven't read over and over before. The writing is something I have not read before.. it seems to be kind of poetic in a unique kind of way. Although it was kind of misleading at first but once it all started coming together this story is nearly impossible to put down. Readers will fall in love with this world building , the characters, and the battle scenes. Beware be careful which characters you fall in love with, for you might experience emotional damage.

To conclude, add this one to you TBR immediately. Thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this before it's release date! I look forward to more from this author.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ashaya — F. Sharpe

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Kyanna, our 40-year-old FMC, has seen some shit and has lived a very full life. We get pieces of her backstory sprinkled artfully throughout the story, and she is badass, fiercely loyal, and an amazing friend.

F. Sharpe’s world-building is second to none. It is vast, immersive, and deliciously vibrant. I especially loved the little details, like the different types of wood they burn and the meanings behind them. The mythology is helpfully listed at the beginning of the book, but honestly, you don’t need it. Everything is easy to understand and makes perfect sense as you move through the story.

Ashaya was an absolute joy to read. This is the third book of F. Sharpe’s that I’ve read, and it has become quite clear that she can write anything.

A gigantic five stars from me, and I will be lining up for anything else she deems worthy of her voice.

I adore you and I am happy to have gained a friend through this experience ❤️🫶🏼

I love love loved this story and I cannot wait to read more in the Lurian Series!

ASHAYA is a story of love and loss, second chances and found family. Of a people at war to save their home. Of Gods and prophecies. Nothing is as it seems and when you think you have it figured out, I promise you, you don’t. It was beautiful and devastating and I CANNOT wait to continue this series!

First, I’d like to begin by thanking F. Sharpe for this ARC. I really enjoyed this book and appreciate the opportunity!

This is a completely honest review, no spoilers.
Ashaya is an epic story about Kyãnna and her friends and family’s life on Vælth and the upcoming rebellion against the Venukai. This tale has epic world building (some mythology included in the beginning!), a slow burn (but not too slow), and yearning that makes you not want to put Kyãnna’s story down. F. Sharpe does a wonderful job describing life on this far away planet, and there are action scenes with twists you NEVER see coming. I genuinely cannot wait for the sequel!

I don't know if I can express how captivating this story is! The yearning, the brooding, the familial bonds, the humor, the war waging...there's every emotion tied up in a star dusted package. An FMC who is older adds so much depth to the story as her past and experience weaves itself into a powerful expression of devotion, sacrifice, and love. I have gasped, cried, yelled, and laughed. I need it in paperback yesterday, I need the sequel IMMEDIATELY! Like, right now! Bravo, F. SHARPE ❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 so rounding up! | 🌶️🌶️
This book is for those who want an incredibly original, completely built from scratch from the bottom up, world. I’m talking world building down to the most minute detail like what you call a day, an hour, conventions for people’s name, an entirely separate novella could likely be written about this world’s mythology as well. F Sharpe also made up a language and intersperses it throughout the novel. This felt more like epic or high fantasy with romance because of the intense world-building & mythology.

For me, the pacing felt a bit slow at the beginning and I admittedly didn’t feel as invested in the characters as I thought I would be because I was trying to follow the mythology and make sure I understood. I felt like this kept taking me out of the story at times.

Then all of a sudden something happens that gets me HOOKED, and I was hooked until the end. There was a mystery I felt I was desperately trying to unravel alongside the characters.

There seemed to be a few MMCs (no this is not a why choose) and almost like a second chance element to the romance which I personally haven’t read in fantasy romance yet, so that plus the world made this so refreshing. There is one particular MMC that would immediately, I mean IMMMEDIATELY be my pick. I need to know more about him and I hope, hope, he’s featured more in Book 2.

Kyanna, our FMC is older (40). And there is so much of her story we have yet to uncover because of it. I can’t wait for her prequel. Also, emotional damage; do not say I didn’t warn you of that.

If you loved Road of Bones (no there isn’t Nordic mythology in this book), but once you read it you’ll understand why it has its similarities, then I recommend you try Ashaya.

I will definitely be reading on and can’t wait to see what happens in Book 2!

I want to start by thanking F. Sharpe for this ARC.

The Lurian galaxy is in darkness and our FMC is going to bring us into the light. Darkness is waiting for everyone and she is going to make sure that doesn’t happen. This book was so good it played like a movie. The fight scenes to me were like Star Wars in the way they were written and played out.
This story dives so well into sacrifice, loss, love, friendship and fate. I also love that the FMC is grown it was a breath of fresh air. I ate this book up and you will too.

YOU HAVE TO READ ASHAYA.

I didn’t think F. Sharpe could possibly improve on the world-building of After Ever After, but somehow, she’s done it. The world-building in Ashaya is high-fantasy level—vast, atmospheric, intricate and breathtakingly beautiful. Vælth doesn’t feel like a setting; it feels alive. Like it has a history, a heartbeat, and a story of its own.

And then there’s the romance. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but the YEARNING. I genuinely felt Kyanna’s heart in this book. Every ache, every want, every impossible emotion. The romance is woven through the fantasy so beautifully that I was completely consumed by it.

And Kyanna. K Y A N N A. What a refreshing FMC. She is strong without losing her femininity, complicated without being frustrating, and so wonderfully human. This is feminine rage done right. This is female friendship done right.

Ashaya will consume you. It will devastate you. It will rip your heart apart and somehow leave you feeling a little more hopeful, a little more powerful, and completely changed from where you started.

Please. Read this book. 🌑⚔️

I received an ARC of Ashaya in exchange for an honest review.

Ashaya is one of those books that asked a LOT of my brain and then somehow convinced that same brain to stay up reading anyway.

The initial lore is dense. There are a lot of unfamiliar names, places, groups, gods, and characters to keep track of, and many of them have similar starting letters or sounds. Several characters, particularly within the mythology, also have more than one name. I’m typically much more of a vibe reader, but during the first quarter of this book I found myself taking pages of notes because I wasn’t yet sure which details were going to matter later.

I also really wished there had been some indication of time at the beginning of chapters. There were moments when I genuinely couldn’t tell whether an hour, a day, or years had passed, and the timeline was probably the element I struggled to follow most.

That said, once I settled into the world, I became completely invested.

The lore itself is incredibly unique and unlike anything I’ve encountered before, and Sharpe’s writing is absolutely beautiful. The prose has this lyrical, almost rhythmic quality to it. Little choices like “down, down, down” or “fell, fell, fell” gave certain passages this gorgeous momentum that carried me right through them.

I also loved the way information was revealed. Sometimes it felt as though the author gave you the punchline first and then spent the rest of the chapter letting you figure out why the joke was funny. Explanations often came much later than the questions they answered, which created this constant sense that there was something else to uncover.

That was especially true with Ashaya herself.

At first, I occasionally struggled with what felt like inconsistencies in her thoughts and relationships with other characters. But as more of her secrets and motivations were revealed, many of those moments began to make sense. I ended up really appreciating her as a flawed, limited narrator who was not necessarily giving the reader the entire story simply because she was the main character.

Her relationships, particularly her romantic history, were some of my favorite mysteries to unravel. I constantly wanted to know more about the people around her and what had actually happened between them.

The one area where I still wanted more explanation was Ashaya’s role in the war and her abilities as both a warrior and an immortal. I understood that she was powerful and important, but I didn’t always feel like I fully understood what that meant in practice.

This is definitely a book that requires attention. There are a lot of names, places, histories, relationships, and pieces of mythology to hold onto. But despite that cognitive load, the actual reading experience was surprisingly effortless. The prose moves beautifully, the characters are compelling, and I kept wanting to know just one more thing.

And then one more thing.

And apparently suddenly it was 3 a.m.

Complex, lyrical, mysterious, and completely unlike anything I’ve read before. Ashaya made me work for it, but it also made me want to.

This book is one of those where you put in the time but the pay off is well worth it. The world building in this book is next level. It is dense and requires a lot of focus but it is so incredibly unique. There is a glossary, a map, and mythology to kick off the book which was all very helpful. Take your time getting through this part and even reread them after you finish because it really helped everything come full circle for me.

The atmosphere of Ashaya gives the feel of Star Wars with its high stakes rebellion setting but, with a touch of Avatar and the essence of Pandora’s energy/life force. There are light and dark energy sources, mystical creatures, mortals, and higher beings that all completely wrap you up in this world. F Sharpe has a way of describing everything so vividly that I was really immersed the whole read and able to visualize the world she has created.

This story is dark, emotional, and explores some heavy topics so check your trigger warnings before reading! Since the aspects of the rebellion are so heavy, I think the only thing I would have loved to see more of was some dark humor and more banter to come with that. However, dark humor doesn’t sit well with everyone and I get that but the moments that a bit of this shined through had me laughing and giggling through the trauma with them.

You are left with a lot of questions but it is definitely all intentional. This world is intricate and there are a lot of characters at play so you still don’t know who to fully trust. The stakes are high, the rebellion is rebelling, and I’ve learned to not get too attached to anyone because F. Sharpe cannot be trusted. This story left me invested and itching to learn more. I cannot wait to see where it goes from here!

Ashaya, F. Sharpe, Maloa sa’li🫶 thank you for trusting me with an ARC.

I was lucky enough to ready an ARC copy, this review and words are my own.

This was insanely good...easily a 5-star read, I would happily give it more. Felicity didn't just world build for us she took us to an entire new Universe and broke it down bit by bit for us. At the begining I was a bit overlaewhelmed with the Glossary & terms but I just surrender to the experience and had faith she would explain it to me, and she did. Though I did take a picture of the key terms at the beginining until it became second nature to me.

The story is based on a world shrouded in darkness due to an intergalactic war. We have hidden powers, sacrifice, animal familiars, found family, ancient dieties, incredibly unique magic, heartbreak....so much heartbreak.

Our FMC - Kayanna is leader is all senses, no coming into her power story here - she is the power, her story & sacrifice for her people, of which we have only touched the surface, is heavy, you can feel her fatigue as the book evolves. I was so pleased that there was some respites within the book where she could be held...never lasted long - lol! but it allowed you to catch a breath.

The heartache, the relationhships, the politics, the danger comes through on every page. I think I was holding my breath the last 30%, the ending tore my heart out.

There are so many twists and turns through the book, so many layers that still need unravelling. I'm looking forward to the prequal of when it comes out in December so I can learn more about Kayanna and who she came to be.

I will definetely be continuing this series and will gladly have a re-read prior, I don't usually read a book twice but I have a feeling I would enjoy this the second time even more.

There are books where I love the characters. Books where I love the story. And then there are books where I find myself highlighting half the pages simply because of how beautifully they are written. Ashaya was absolutely the latter.

F. Sharpe's writing was the first thing that completely captured me. The prose and imagery are beautiful, but it was the way she writes thoughts and emotions that really stood out. I highlighted so much of this book simply because I wanted to remember the words.
And then somewhere along the way, I became completely obsessed with the story too.

I loved how everything unfolded bit by bit. At no point did I feel like I knew exactly where the story was taking me, and even towards the end I genuinely couldn't predict what was going to happen. The twists caught me completely off guard, which made it almost impossible to put down.

The world-building was incredible, but it was the characters and their relationships that really made me fall in love with this book. Kyanna, Andrum, Jaek and Khayden all had my heart. There is so much yearning here — next-level yearning — but also sacrifice, pain and incredibly deep emotion. I especially appreciated that this isn't a story where everything is made neat and happy simply because we want it to be. Some things hurt. Some stories don't get a happy ending. And that made the emotions feel all the more powerful.

By 58% I couldn't put it down. By 84% I was obsessed. By the end, there was absolutely no question about the rating.

Beautiful prose, stunning imagery, incredible world-building, characters I adored and the kind of deep, aching yearning that I will choose every single time.

An easy 5 stars

I am an arc reader with an advanced copy or Ashaya and here is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book, I rate it 4.5 stars. The prose and base lore of the book is similar to when the moon hatched. However, what I think it does better is pacing. It starts out slower then picks up steam mid book, then all hell breaks loose.

It has a lot of struggle and heartbreaking moments, I would love to have even more back story on the characters as you are placed amidst an already developing plot line from the start.

Our protagonist is Kyanna, a grown ass woman, cant tell you how much I appreciated that. She is the chosen one, the forge keeper. She is trying to free her people from the oppressive regime of Venu (an eternal - immortal). There is alot of backstory and lore that feels a bit scifi and fantasy at this point. Venu captures and takes over the galaxy bit by bit. So to prevent spoilers im gonna move on. The MMC is Jaek, he is your book boyfriend who you will hate before you love. He and kyanna have history which is complex and takes time to unfold. There are just so many different storylines weaving together in this book that there is no way there wont be another forthcoming. Even with the romance aspect between these two it does not feel like the main plot point, which I think is what alot of others fantasys fail at.

If you like your fantasy with more story than romance and a touch of scifi with lore like the moonfall series then this is the book for you.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

Ashaya was a good read, and honestly, it left me curious enough to continue with the rest of the series—which is always a good sign!

This book had me saying “WTF” more times than I can count. There were definitely some moments that caught me completely off guard. I also have some emotional damage from a character death that I wasn't expecting and one absolutely heartbreaking scene between Kyanna and a different character. I refuse to spoil either one, but just know… my feelings have been hurt.

One thing I wish I had gotten more of was Kyanna and Taya’s friendship before everything happened to them. I think having more scenes of them actually interacting and displaying their years of friendship would have made what happened hit harder for me emotionally. As it was, I didn't feel quite as connected to that particular situation as I wanted to.

And Jaek… I genuinely still don't know how I feel about him. I have more questions than answers, but as a girl who has gone through heartbreak with the one she loves, I understand Kyanna's choices with Jaek.

That said, Vaelth sounds like it has the potential to be an amazing world. There seems to be so much to discover, and I’m really interested in seeing more of the world, its people, its gods and where the story goes from here.

Overall, Ashaya kept me curious, confused, emotionally damaged, and asking “WTF?”—so naturally, I’ll be picking up the next book.

Thank you F. Sharpe so much for the ARC of ASHAYA!

ASHAYA takes place on the planet Vælth where the people have been occupied by the Venukai invaders for centuries. The story begins in the midst of rebellion where the Vælthi secretly build weapons and fight back against the Venukai. Kyanna is the 40-year-old Forge Keeper who uses her connection to the forge to build weapons for the rebellion.

Kyanna is an awesome FMC. She is determined to protect her friends and family. Her development as a character is fantastic – in part because she’s an actual adult! Thank you, Felicity, for writing a fully-developed badass FMC! While yes there is romance, it's more about Kyanna leading the rebellion.

The world-building is impressive and unique. Sharpe blends sci-fi and fantasy elements impressively well. Don’t skip the terminology list or the mythology; these were super helpful when reading. The plot is focused and developed; it’s impressively complex and leads readers on a whirlwind emotional journey. This was the second book I read this year to make me cry. Sharpe knows how to trigger the right emotional response; tissues are recommended.

✨ ARC review ✨

This book had me hooked from the moment I started reading.

The world-building = INTENSE.
The characters = INSANE (in the best possible way).
The pacing = PURE PERFECTION.

This Star Wars meets Throne of Glass world had me completely addicted.

Kyanna is such a strong FMC and role as the Forge Keeper was incredible. She’s secretly arming a rebellion she knows cannot win, only to discover that her life has been shaped and guided by forces far greater than she ever realised.

Did I stay up way too late reading because I needed to know what happened next? Absolutely.

Did I have ALL the feels along the way? Also yes. 😭

F. Sharpe has created a world that feels huge, layered and like there is still so much left to uncover. I finished this book wanting more, which is always one of my favourite feelings when starting a new series.

If you love epic world building, powerful FMCs, rebellion, destiny, gods, secrets and twists that keep you guessing, Ashaya needs to be on your TBR.

Thank you so much to F. Sharpe for having me on the ARC team and trusting me with this story. 🤍

OH MY GODS! I am UNWELL after reading this book. Ashaya had me laughing, yelling, and sobbing my eyes and heart out and had me literally staring at the last page of the book for a while. The characters are written so beautifully well that it doesn’t take long at all to fall in love with them all, especially Kyãnna our FMC. Kyãnna is an older fmc, which is so refreshing. She is sure of what she wants, never weavers in her beliefs, is incredibly powerful and knows how to defend herself and others. The world building had me blown away all throughout the book, I could probably read this over a few more times and still discover stuff that I had missed reading the first time. Sharp’s writing really immerses you in this story the details, world building, pacing, character developments, friendships, yearning, the love story, the spice, and the community that these characters share with each other is truly remarkable. This is a story you won’t want to put down and will never forget. My mind and heart are going to be living in Ashaya for a very long time 💜❤️

This book was just outstanding!! F. Sharpe creates a world like no other. It truly does not compare to any other fantasy book I have read before. The lore and mythology is so interesting and complex but it never felt overwhelming. She definitely had a big picture in mind when telling her story. Prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster of love and heartbreak. I was only half way through the book and I knew I would reread it multiple times.
Now for the the FMC. I cannot tell you how much I loved Kyãnna!! She is fierce, she is determined, she is 40!! It is so refreshing to have a FMC that is not in her early 20s or younger. Her life experience drives her and gives her the confidence so many lack at a young age. Kyãnna is a leader everyone can look up to and aspire to be!
A note to author... GIVE ME MOOORE!! I loved everything about Ashaya. I cannot wait for book 2 and anything and all things Lurian! I could literally see this as a movie or tv series. Congrats on a phenomenal start to a series.

I was pleased to be in the ARC team for this high fantasy novel. I was hooked from the beginning and found it difficult to put down. The FMC does not disappoint, she is 40, strong and independent. Her town, planet and galaxy are all depending upon her to lead the rebellion that will free her people. She is the Forge Keeper, a high position in Vaelthi culture. I do not want to give anything away. The author has designed a world with history, mythology, extraordinary characters, romance, spice, creatures and all set in a unique landscape. Sharpe's descriptions, the world building, plot progression, pacing and character development throughout the book make it a fantastic read. The roller coaster of emotions and intensity is managed perfectly with enough lows to orientate the reader and plenty of highs to keep you wanting to turn the next page, read the next chapter and finally be sad not to be able to reach for the next book in the Lurian series, once the last page is read.
