I enjoyed it, and it's interesting to start to understand the story's broader scope. The plot does feel a little convoluted, but I appreciate that the author seems dedicated to telling the story rather than having it subsumed by the expanded harem drama, as most of these series do this far in.

I've liked this series from the beginning and this one is just as good. Lots of moving parts, and it looks like the big showdown between the magical and mundane world will be coming in book 6.

A step down is quality

Was really happy for a new book in this series after so long.. not happy it was a transitory book that feels rushed with poor story quality.

(Spoilers)
Its crazy a curse mentioned in the latter half of the book, a 'YOURE going to DIE' level curse, was used later in said book and then all reprocusions for one side are just thrown out entirely in the epilogue. Poor, very poor story telling.
I dont have a problem with the book being a 'transition' book, or a book to move the plot along, because its meaningful if a bit lower on the activity side. What I do have a problem with it that it feels rushed. Cleo literally feels shoved in considering shes the pretty much THE MAIN HERIOINE of your book.. yikes. This is to say nothing of how slid in Hayley feels like. And back to the ending, COME ON. Amelia needed to die. Not only did you kill the unicorn in such an unsatisfying and flat way that I literally stopped and said "..Whaa..?" but you literally just powercreeped your own book in the last 5 pages. Crazy work.

I liked this book well enough, but there are aspects of the MC's behavior that annoy me, and the LI added in this book has always done nothing for me.

The aspect of the MC that bothers me is his delusional habit of going off by himself and thinking he can handle it. And just about every time he goes off by himself, he gets his backside handed to him and has to be bailed out by his LIs or someone else. And at no point does he think to himself "I'm good, but I'm not so good I don't need at least some of my party members with me." So he keeps making the mistake of going off solo. That frustrates me as a reader, because it makes the MC feel dumb.

I am interested in where the series goes next, but there is a former antagonist that feels like she is trying to figure out how to get with the MC, and if that angle pans out, it would really suck.

Oh how far we’ve fallen.

The story at first was really interesting and fun. Now it is just a slog. Of course there’s this evil corporation “allowed” to conduct awful experiments on people and nothing really happens to them. Might as well have just named them Umbrella and be done with it.

I also REALLY hate when an author does something to make the MC really strong and unique, Sparky, but then immediately turns around and is like oh he’s not that unique, the big bad guy can make anyone like that! That’s just lazy writing.

I’m glad things with Cleo finally progressed, but honestly that was the only positive thing I can say about this book. The author has taken a nosedive into so many tropes it has killed what made this series interesting.

Great continuation

I appreciate the character appendix and the refresher from the other books. It made getting into this one painless. I'll be straight to the point if you enjoyed the previous books you will love this one, a lot happens in this one but it reads quick and flows well. I'll he back for the next one.

Another banger from Kilgore

Another excellent book from Kilgore. The new discovers and world building caught me off guard but in a good way. I am very excited to find out where they lead to in the future. The character development of Ash and all the other characters was done very well and was also exciting to read. I can’t wait for the next book!

The cliffhangers keep on coming

Absolutely fiendish to leave a cliffhanger when you raised 3 times as many questuons as those answered in the book! Still a banger that had me smiling from start to finish. Here's hoping there will be tail brushings in the future.

superb as usual

I honestly feel that each entry to the series just gets better and better, the stakes get bigger and more mysteries are finally unraveled. I can’t wait till the next one honestly. Thanks for the book author

A good read but not great

I have enjoyed the series and the growth and interactions of the characters, but this book seem just "meh", as if the author is either running out of ideas or enthusiasm for the series.

It’s always the diabolical corporations, every time. Anyway, I thought this was pretty good, although I would have been happier if it felt like they had achieved more definitive gains after all the drama.

Very good book

This is a fine fantasy harem adventure novel. It is well written and edited. I especially like Shaggy. I anxiously await the author's next novel.

Excellent!!!

I trully love this series, this one was a little more serious as the stakes get higher but it was still very entertaining, can’t wait for the next book

Really like this author and this series, but feels like it’s dropping off for me—my first rating below 5 stars for DeVas—hoping I bounce back next book
