Super fun read compiling a set of short stories around legends and folk tales from Bretagne (Brittany region in France). The stories are dipped in the Celtic lores around Ankou, Korrigans, Elves and other faery folks of all kinds. The stories are told in a simple style, borrowing from an old style of story telling mixing Breton terms in the mix. While simple in style, the story telling is very rich in description and images, giving the reader all one needs to summon visions of Bretagne and its granite cost lines or flat land punctuated by the odd dry bushes or menhir :-) Brought back lots of memories, especially around my favorite retelling of the story of the city of Ys (from which if I remember correctly Paris was named, meaning "Pareil à Is" == similar to Ys)
