Addie and Theo were a great friends to lovers and also seeing them get their chance finally made me happy!! It was fast paced once they got together and it was very BAM!!!
I LOVED the found family and the real family this small town had, seeing the relationships happening in between was so sweet
Im intrigued to read Mayson and Poppy because i still have so many questions.

Goodness me, I loved this.
I went into Second Chances expecting a small-town romance, and while it absolutely delivers on that, there is so much more here. This is a story about grief and healing, the importance of the people who know and love you best, and a love that has survived years apart.
It’s fast-paced and incredibly easy to read, while somehow covering far more emotionally and plot-wise than I expected. The pace really suited Addison and Theo’s story and everything they had already been through together, while also setting up the next book in the series so well.
I didn’t expect to laugh, cry AND kick my feet like a schoolgirl, but here we are.

omggg this was so unbelievably good!! First off, Addie and Theo, the tension and chemistry between them is so hot. You can just tell they've always meant to be together from the start.
This aussie romcom is just delivering everything from mutual pining to healing to going from friends to enemies to lovers!! This is just my kind of book.

Sommer…This by FAR is my favourite book you’ve written. The way it had me hook, line and sinker (iykyk)…I couldn’t stop reading. I laughed, cried, laughed, cried while laughing and grossly laughed out loud like a possessed animal. The ending left me wanting so much more from this series, and I cannot wait for you to write the next book for me to gawk over.

I fell in love with Second Chances pretty much straight away. Once I got into the story, I really didn’t want to put it down — although real life rudely made me a few times!

This is Sommer’s first step into contemporary romance and I am absolutely blown away.
This book introduces us to Theo and Addie who you will of course fall in love with but we are also gifted with Addie’s wonderful three brothers, a charming Australian small town setting, and a small but mighty trio of friends whose group chat I want to be added to!
Addie’s family is big and filled to the brim with so much love that it falls off the pages and covers you with warmth. I adore Addie’s Mum- I can’t wait for you to meet her.
Addie’s small town childhood friends reunite with her again as an adult but have the pleasure of getting to know her again, as she, like so many of us has stitched herself into a new version of who she once was. This was so relatable, and probably my favourite side story- watching Addie shine as the woman she now is.
Sommer’s storytelling captures the ‘found family/made family’ feeling spectacularly. By the end I felt like I knew the side characters well and I am absolutely feral to read all their stories!
Addie’s family has loved and lost and Sommer takes you by the hand and allows you to feel all the beautiful bittersweet feelings that come with love, forgiveness, second chances and new beginnings.

What a RIDE!
I love Sommer's writing style, and she pulled none of her punches in this second chance rom-com. This was everything I wanted, and then some.
The nostalgia, the emotion, the music, the SEX 🤭
The only time I stopped reading was to laugh because my GOD those jokes and one-liners were perfect and so relatable.
But ... Is that not what rom-coms are about?
That's why I read them. To have fun and escape into a dramatic story. And I was able to with this book.
I even cried! 👀
But beyond that, I also kept hope. If Addie could do what she does in the book, then maybe I can to with my life and goals. She was inspiring, in all aspects. So I'm thankful to Sommer for creating a character, a world, like this one for others to grow and learn from too.
And also, to remind everyone that sometimes the answer IS to let loose and have fun 😆
But truly, reading about these characters and their hope at restarting life so many years later was a breath of fresh air amongst novels I've read lately.

I inhaled this book in days and I loved it. I love all the characters (except that one bitch and 2 dickheads), love their relationships/friendships, I love all the little Aussie nuggets that only Aussies will get.
Addison returns to her home town after 11 years and crashes, literally, into the bloke whose heart she broke very publicly before she left. Theo might have held onto that grudge, he might still have feelings for her, he’s definitely a sexy singing fireman.
The friendships with her besties are repaired and it’s like she never left and none of them went through a bunch of emotional shit in those 11 years. I love the banter throughout from all the characters, including the mums! I was absolutely tapping my toes and giggling like a teenager for so much of this but it wasn’t without the emotional dips too and there were tears, some happy ones too. Keep the tissues handy at the end. Frothing for the rest of the series! 5 stars, no notes.

The best way to describe this would be a story that delivers a relationship between laughter and emotional damage. There were many times I had to stop reading because I was seriously laughing way too hard. Other times, I'd want to cry, whether it was from the sure pain described or from the happiness spilling off the pages. Then the spice, I mean you can just guess what 10 years of yearning could do to two people. 😉
The story follows Addie and Theo. Throughout it, you learn the why and how of Addie's departure and what made her return. You'll also get to know just how much it affected Theo and see how he fights tooth and nail to not let the feelings resurface. You gotta love a good slow burn that is absolutely inevitable.
I can't wait to see what happens next because the side characters definitely will find a space in your heart. I'm rooting so hard for River, and I hope she receives all the love she deserves.

This book was beautifully funny. It's the only way I can describe it. I laughed, like giggling, kicking my feet laughing, especially when Poppy, River and Addie were together.
The relationships between friends & family dynamics were absolutely beautifully written.
The characters quickly become someone you're invested in and want to see succeed. The speech Mayson makes, had me in tears. There are parts in this book that made me cry, not from grief but happiness.
This book is so well written you cannot stop reading it.
Lo is the best friend everyone needs, and that one friend you can't have on loud speaker when they call! Lol
This was a 5 star read for me and I would highly recommend it. I will definitely be not only buying a trophy copy, but will be buying the rest of series when it releases.

Holy spicy toledo. This book is really good. We have country towns, second chances, spice and family reunions.

The coming back together of everyone is so emotional. But the coming together of Addie and Theo is filled with emotion, passion and connection.
This book is genuine with some hilarious moments and a few great lines.
My favourite part is all the secret chats that get created and hidden from different people with the town.

This man is EVERYTHING. The chemistry between these two is ridiculous, and you can feel from the beginning that they were always meant to find their way back to each other.
Then the last third happened.
I cried FIVE TIMES. Actual tears. Emotional devastation. Not a lot makes me cry. So GREAT. My dignity left the building.

Sommers first dive at contemporary romance and we dove in, in the deepest part of the ocean and we're never returning, you hit the nail on the head with this one.
I was laughing, kicking my feet like a little school girl, tears welling up and clutching my chest in suspense. I can't wait for the world to get this one, to feel the emotion, the love and happiness that I felt getting to know these characters. I can't wait to immerse myself into their world more.

As an Australian similar age to the author, this book was pure nostalgia for me- all the aussie references are 100% accurate to my teenage years which made this book relateable. The quote that grief and relief are ugly sisters made me absolutely bawl my eyes out as it was so accurate to a situation I have been in losing a loved one slowly and painfully. Yet, the happy moments made me cry too. This book is beautiful and I loved it so much. The spice was spicy and I loved that too- we all know chapter 55 from ACOMAF, but now we will all know Chapter 21 from Second Chances.

Theo the boy with the broken heart, Addison the one that broke it all those years ago when she was so broken herself. Years have past, moving back home for Addison ment facing Theo again, and boy is there story a roller coaster of emotions, facing each other again and what has always been there.
The banter, the friendships, the spice (its sooo good), the banter,the group chats, my personal favourite the AA battery reference. This book really draws you in and leaves you wanting more.

This was a fun read!!! The first half of the book was a slow burn and the second half of the book went from zero to fucking break-neck speed.. I love a good second chance and this one did not disappoint, although I did feel that after such a slow burn, it did move at a really really rapid pace… in saying that, it was light. It was fun. It was smutty. It was spicy. It had banter. It had found family. It had everything…and let me tell you, there’s a scene at the dinner table involving a plate and a fork and some rope…..that will not disappoint.

Absolutely loved this! The chemistry between Addie and Theo was everything, and I couldn’t put it down. WOW! Ready or not ! Get ready for Theo and Addie . So much heartfelt moments that will bring laughter and sadness. Addie made choices in the past regarding Theo. But destiny had other plans.
