4-4.5 ”I’m curvy and I love it” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another hit in the series. I’m really starting to fall in love with this author. I know I have found another go to author for a sexy and lighthearted romance. I liked the pace of the book, the relatable characters, raunchy intimate scenes and the sweetest romance. I devoured this book without any breaks. The BDSM aspect is done so well. No matter how many times I read, there’s always more when it comes to it and I’m always left intrigued.

She tightened her fingers around the railing and tried to sound blasé, when she was anything but indifferent to him. “What do you want, Sawyer?”
“You.”
Just like that, the past crashed through her…how he’d always made her feel so desired and beautiful and how he’d ultimately betrayed her with Ashley.

Paige’s life is turned upside down when she runs into her ex Sawyer, who she hasn’t since a year and a half when she caught him cheating on her with her stepsister no less. What’s more confusing is the attraction she still feels towards him. Now, I expected this made for perfect angsty read especially the way Paige was described in the previous book as feisty instead it was the opposite but I’m still happy the way it turned out.

Things turn into fun when one of her friends suggests she get her revenge by going to the players club for a naughty night where sawyer frequents and show him what a mistake he made and how she has moved on. You know what they say, nothing ever goes as planned and instead she ends up sleeping with him. She is both surprised and intrigued that he has this dominating side to him which he never once showed while they were together.

The sex was incredible and with the chemistry between them it’s no surprise. She liked how he commanded her body but her mind is at war whether or not to trust him outside of bed. The way things ended between them brought up the painful memories and insecurities she has. She’s always been a curvy girl but the way her stepsister constantly said rude comments, it only made her feel worse.

”I trust you,” she said simply.
He swallowed hard and asked about the one thing he needed the most. “And you forgive me?”
“Better than that.” She lifted up and pressed her soft lips to his and whispered, “I love you, Sawyer Burrows. So much.”

Sawyer was someone I had doubts about. I wanted to see how he was going to redeem himself. Things were not as it seemed. He still has no recollection of the night he spent with her stepsister, the memories are fuzzy. As much as I wanted to hate him, he still grew on me. I could see how sorry he was and the way he asked for her forgiveness, I ended up liking him. The best quality of his was the way he bright out the confidence in Paige, the way he made her feel beautiful in all her curves which he absolutely loved. He was proud of the woman she’s become with a successful career.

”Harder, sweetheart,” he demanded roughly, clearly not satisfied with her paltry efforts. He tangled his free hand in her hair and used it to pull her head back so she was staring up at him and couldn’t glance away from the uncompromising look on his face. “Make them sting. Make them beg for my mouth. Do it, or I will bite them so fucking hard and show you exactly how good it can hurt.”

The intimate scenes were once again the hottest and filthy. Sawyer loved tying her up in intricate knots that gave her immense pleasure and the control he craved. Once I learned his reasoning, it made all the more sense. His dirty mouth made me blush and salivating.

All this made for a superb second chance romance. The way the author writes these sweet as well as dominating men and equally strong women just leaves me satisfied. If you are looking for a light read with BDSM thrown in, then this series is perfect for you. ♥️

So, I didn't realize that this book was about the couple where the guy cheated with the step sister. If you read the first book, you know that this is fact. I loved the first two books, but will be skipping this one. Not reading that..don't care what "excuse" he had....what did she trip and fall on his man part...don't think so. The fact that there was even a book written at all makes me sad. There are millions of guys in the world....pick another one...they don't all cheat. And since I know from the 1st book he had been in town for awhile and a member of the club...seriously. Poor girl, clearly a low, low self esteem. Sad really....the should of had her happily ever after too....instead of the "tainted" version. And I really like this author, but this book would not be for me.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

4.5 Stars

Erika Wilde is one of those authors who never ceases to amaze me. She continually writes sexy and erotic stories but manages to give them heart then she adds in easy to like characters plus a little conflict and rolls it all in to one fantastic romance. Playing With Pleasure is her second book in the Player's Club series and it's possible I like this one even better than the first one mainly because I love seeing old lover's reunited but it's also fantastic to see two people open themselves completely, let down their defenses, and give everything to another person and both the hero and heroine did just that in this story.

Paige Moore is one of those heroines I think so many women can related to; she's a successful businesswoman, she's self sufficient and she has good friends, but she also suffers from body image issues and a bit of self doubt. Most people see the strong woman Paige projects to the world but those closest to her know underneath she carries some deep scars some directly related to her witchy (with a b) step-sister and the incident that left her reeling on her 26th birthday.

Despite the fact that Sawyer Burrows feels he wasn't totally at fault with the incident that caused Paige the pain she feels, it is something he's never been able to forget and seeing her again just makes him realize how much he wants her back in his life. First he has to get her to give him the time of day and seeing her in the exclusive Player's Club gives him the perfect opportunity but despite his military training he knows winning over Paige will be the toughest battle he's ever faced.

Intense is the one word that comes to mind when I think back on their first encounter following the incident that broke them apart years ago. Paige hates that her traitorous body responds to this "new" Sawyer, the one she's never seen before but she can't help but take advantage of everything he's willing to give because this time it's on her terms. There is a wide divide between these two, but I give Sawyer so much credit for not only breaking down the wall Paige has erected around herself but for putting everything out there for her to absorb right off the bat and not pressuring her into a decision; giving her time to draw her own conclusions and make her own decisions. I'll admit while I felt sorry for what happened to Sawyer it would have been hard for me to overlook what happened even knowing he really was innocent of wrongdoing but Paige is a better person than me, not only that she worked hard to understand everything about Sawyer and his needs without freaking out and running away.

I loved the way Paige's friends rallied around her, the way they didn't judge her for giving Sawyer another chance and the way they were there to back her up when her step-sister tried to ruin everything she worked so hard for. This group of ladies is a fierce and diverse group which makes me love them all the more.

Anytime I see characters grow and change in a book it makes me appreciate everything the author has put in to making her characters seem real and that's exactly how I felt about Paige and Sawyer. These are people I would love to know, hang out, and become friends with.

A seductive and sexy story with characters I won't forget, a story that had me jeering and CHEERING, and most of all a lesson that forgiveness can lead to the most wonderful things in our lives.

PS---Can I just say I really, really, really wanted Paige's witch of a step-sister to find herself cut off and cut out of their lives? Yes, I really can be vindictive at times.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The quality of the writing is good, and the ratio of spicy to plot was right on. BUT, there was one major issue which significantly impacted my overall feelings for this book, which would have otherwise received 4 stars...

**SPOILER ALERT & TRIGGER WARNING**

Sawyer was sexually assaulted. He was raped. And it is NEVER said. Throughout the entire book the situation is always viewed as the time that Sawyer unintentionally cheated on Paige. He is looking for forgiveness for a wrong HE did. Paige needs to get over what HE did to HER. NO. Just no. HIS DRINK WAS DRUGGED AND A WOMAN RAPED HIM. Period. Full stop. For a book written by a woman, with a strong current of female empowerment in it, it is a HUGE loss that more wasn't done to show the severity of what happened. If the same had happened to a female character, assault and rape would have been the key words throughout. Why not the same for a male character?? It really ruined my impression of all of the characters and my enjoyment of the book. It's really upsetting to me that references to the assault were so casual and the fault still seemed to rest with the victim. I almost stopped reading the book part way through because I was so angry about this, but decided to keep reading hoping the author would rectify this and the characters would treat the situation for what it was. Unfortunately, that never happened, and so, 2 stars. Shameful.

Title: "Playing with Pleasure" - this novel is actually book #2 in the "Player's Club" series however, each book is written as a standalone novel. More information to follow. :)
Author: Erika Wilde - twitter.com/ErikaWilde1 - goodreads.com/erikawildeauthor - Facebook.com/erikawildeauthor - www.ErikaWilde.com. Alias: Janelle Denison.
Publication: released 13 July 2015 by Erika Wilde. Kindle: $3.99; Book: $9.99.

*~*~*NOTE: A FREE ARC (Electronic format) WAS GENEROUSLY PROVIDE BY THE AUTHOR - VIA NETGALLEY - IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW. THANK YOU, ERIKA! *~*~*

About the book: fiction/adult fiction, romance, mild BDSM (more erotica/detailed-HOT-love scenes), strong female MC, sex club, veteran (Iraq), PTSD, drama.

Read: June 30-July 14, 2015 (part time).

My rating (1-5 scale): SOLID 4.5-5! (I'm not sure why I'm waffling a little in the "half" other than I'm stingy with '5's')...I loved this book!

My thoughts:

When I requested this novel via NetGalley, I purposely did NOT read book #1 of the Player's Club series as I wanted to evaluate "Playing with Pleasure" as its own, standalone novel that is also part of a series. of course now I HAVE to devour the other two books STAT!!!

"Playing with Pleasure" is so well written and truly is a standalone! If I had not been aware of the series, it would have been totally unnoticed-seriously. I really like that element in a series; I like the flexibility of reading a book that is recommended or looks interesting regardless of where it stands within a series; then, if I like the book, I enjoy going back and reading the series from the beginning to "meet" all of the characters, etcetera and thus recognize them throughout other books. Hopefully that made sense. :)

In this book, we are introduced to the lovely and independent Paige Moore. Paige is working her way up the Haute Couture ladder as a fashion designer of breathtakingly beautiful, custom corsets. She's the daughter of a deceased wealthy father & stepmother and has a NASTY biotch of a spoiled stepsister antagonist. Paige has struggled with insecurity in love as well as with her "curvy body" and has been burned a couple times courtesy of the delightful step-sister.

Sawyer was one of the men that broke Paige's heart. He is back from 15 months at war in Iraq and is struggling with his own losses from that experience (PTSD-post-war). Sawyer has never forgotten his feelings for Paige after all of this time and still loves her.

In short, Paige receives a gift certificate for an evening at the private sex club, Player's Club, from her good friend. When she finally decides to visit PC, she discovers a new side of herself! A part of her that is open, fascinated and aroused by what she witnesses taking place at the club. Then, there's Sawyer with a model-thin beauty draped over his lap...

All of this takes place early in the book thus we are treated to watching Paige and Sawyer's story play out as they see each other again for the first time I over a year and a half.

I was so surprised by how quickly I became emotionally involved with this story! I immediately related to Paige as a representative of we "average" gals that only see a size "2" if it is preceded by the number "1", you know? Ms. Wilde truly does a fantabulous job of character building as well as giving us a really juicy back story to keep things spicy. I also really, really enjoyed that the couple of BDSM scenes were about ROMANCE and were actually quite beautiful and emotional for BOTH the Dom and the Sub. Very special, imo.

"Playing with Pleasure" is not a hardcore whips and chains kind of story; bondage is more of a side benefit of romance, so to speak. I was pleasantly surprised by this! I really enjoyed the detailed love scenes; Ms. Wilde can reeeeallly serve up some hot sex! Whew! I also really enjoyed the fact that this book was a traditional romance underneath it all as well.

Truly, this is a well written, thoughtful, steamy and dramatic love story. I loved it and will be reading book #1 - "Playing with Temptation" and book #3 - "Playing with Seduction (when it's released) SOON!

Enjoy! :-)

Cheers,
Lisa (@NurseLisainOhio - twitter, NetGalley, GR, IG, Pintetest ).

why do I do these things to myself?
after skimming Playing with Temptation, I read the excerpt for this story and couldn't help myself
ended up skimming much of this as well
while I felt more than I did with Raina and Logan's story, I couldn't get past his I-still-wanted-you story
o .... k .... so, if he wanted her, then what was stopping him from pursuing her again as soon as he got back in town? instead, he was busy with his exclusive membership at The Players Club, what???
seriously, I didn't get the sense that he made any big attempt to get back in her good graces, but I'm supposed to believe that he's been in love with her the whole time? nope, don't buy it.
seems to me, he was fine moving on and letting her go on believing whatever, until he realized that SHE might be over HIM, then all of a sudden, HE wasn't over HER.

hard to get past that

I was really hoping Raina was going to grill him on why he didn't pursue her again as soon as he got back, but nada.
oh and Paige was too much of a doormat - like father, like daughter, I guess?
her stepsister was horribly annoying, and her stepmother wasn't much better, though she tried to redeem herself at the end

Spoiler alert—this book seriously mishandles rape, hence the low score.

The character raped ends up being blamed and must apologize and make amends for having “cheated” even though that’s not at all what happened. Yet someone, this character is stuck constantly trying to apologize and justify and beg, when something terrible happened to this person. And yet, just because he’s male (and not female) it gets brushed aside like he just got lucky or something. . . Or like he might have wanted to be drugged and date raped.

I’m really not okay with this. The story was a lost cause for me from that point on. I don’t think mishandling a serious topic like this is ever acceptable.

No rating, I loved the first book in this series and at the time I was willing to give this story a try but hell no, times have obviously changed for me as the caliber of a story and this one was really just bad! I am in minority but I tried why I have no clue but it was awful:(
Ughhh what a waste considering I loved the first book...I have no desire for the next one either:(

••••••••

REVIEW: PLAYING WITH PLEASURE is the second installment in Erika Wilde’s adult, contemporary The Player’s Club erotic romance series. The Player’s Club is an exclusive members-only sex club. This is former Marine and private security agent Sawyer Burrows, and fashion designer Paige Moore’s storyline. We were first introduced to Sawyer and Paige in book one-PLAYING WITH TEMPTATION. Playing with Pleasure can be read as a stand alone but for some backstory I recommend reading in order. THE PLAYERS CLUB is a spinoff from Erika’s erotic romance THE MARRIAGE DIARIES series.

Told from alternating third person perspectives PLAYING WITH PLEASURE is a second chance storyline for Paige and Sawyer. Eighteen months earlier, on Paige’s twenty sixth birthday, Paige watched Sawyer walk out of her step-sister’s bedroom looking sexed up and guilty. Kissing her relationship with Sawyer goodbye, as well as her family home where she no longer felt welcome or safe, Paige walked away in the hopes of starting a new life with her Couture Corset business. Fast forward a year and a half, and a still brokenhearted Paige will come face to face with her past when her best friend gives her an invitation to The Players Club for a night of freedom and sex. What Paige never expected was to find Sawyer more than willing to give Paige whatever it was she wanted for the night, and possibly her future.

The prior relationship between Sawyer and Paige has already been established but Sawyer needs to explain to Paige what it is he does and doesn’t know about the night eighteen months earlier. Hoping for a second chance with the woman that he loves, Sawyer begins a slow, sexual seduction of Paige. The $ex scenes are erotic, provocative and steamy. Sawyer is a man who likes rope and knot play, and Paige is a willing participant both in and out of the bedroom. There is also some light bondage, voyeurism, and spanking. I did have a slight concern as to Paige’s easy acceptance of the BDSM lifestyle, and Sawyer’s need to dominate and play-I thought there should have been a little more ambivalence on the part of our leading heroine but she took what was offered with very little concern.

PLAYING WITH PLEASURE has a large ensemble cast of secondary characters including friends, family and potential love interests. Raina and Logan from book one –PLAYING WITH TEMPTATION-play a supporting role, as well as a number of Paige’s friends including Kendall Shaw and Paige’s co-worker Summer. We are also introduced to Jase Burns, Sawyer’s friend and fellow security expert at Noble and Associates. Kendall and Jase’s storyline will be told in PLAYING WITH SEDUCTION. The requisite evil comes in the form of Paige’s step sister Ashley who has made Paige’s life miserable for a number of years.

PLAYING WITH PLEASURE is an easy and predictable read; a fast paced, sexy look at a second chance for two people whose lives were torn apart by jealousy and betrayal. The premise is entertaining; the characters colorful, animated and real; the woman are strong of character and determined; the romance is a quick build to a happily ever after. The BDSM content is light, and there is limited exposure to the happenings at The Player’s Club.

This second story in the sexy BDSM Club series The Player’s Club (all standalone) features Paige and Sawyer. Two years ago they were dating and enjoying what seemed to be a promising relationship -until the night of Paige’s birthday when Sawyer ended up in Paige’s stepsister Ashley’s bed and broke her heart. Five days later he left on his military engagement and has only recently returned. When her friend Raina gives her a one night pass to the club, Paige is determined to use it wisely and find someone to give her the pleasure she’s been missing since the break up. Only, Sawyer is a regular at the club, and when he sees Paige, he’s determined to get her to give him a second chance. But one night of hot sex isn’t enough to restore Paige’s trust and Sawyer’s going to have to work hard to convince her that what happened in the past won’t ever happen again. Can they find their way to happiness once again?

I really enjoyed this story! After reading the first one in the series, I put this immediately on my to-read list, as I liked the premise, the Player’s Club being about to my tastes in terms of the sexuality of the club (nothing too fetishy, more into the bondage and D/s parts of BDSM). Though the initial part of the story takes place in the club as Paige and Sawyer reconnect, the majority of the story is outside of it, as Sawyer tries to get to the bottom of what really happened the night of Paige’s birthday and to show Paige that he’s not the cheating man that she thinks he is. I really liked Sawyer’s character. He’s an alpha male, a Dom for sure, but he has a really sweet and tender side (aren’t they the best kind of alpha males!) and he goes to a lot of effort to make Paige feel wanted and cherished for who she is. Paige is a lovely, bright and talented woman who makes beautiful corsets for a living. But she has self esteem issues, stemming from her past relationships with men that never worked out right, and her fractious relationship with her stepsister Ashley, a vindictive and bitter woman. Ashley is the source of conflict in the story, the woman who never lets a moment go by where she doesn’t demean Paige in some way. It was wonderful to see Paige finally standing up for herself, not letting Ashley deter her from what she wants, and finding ways to get around Ashley’s attempts to sabotage bother her personal and her business life. Truthfully, there were times in the story where I just wanted to throttle Ashley (I’m sure this is the author’s intent!) but in the end, Paige and Sawyer are able to get their happy ever after.

Of course the story, being set with a BDSM theme has lots of sexy and hot scenes throughout, and the chemistry between Paige and Sawyer is easy to see. But their characters make the story too, and the dynamic between the two of them was fun to read. This is another great addition to the series. 4 stars.

“Why me?” she asked, needing to know why he wanted her.
He tipped his head to the side, an amused smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “What do you mean, why you?”
She exhaled a deep breath and forced out the crazy question before she changed her mind. “You’re hot and gorgeous, and you could have any woman you want. So what is it about me that you’re attracted to?” It was something she’d always wondered.
“Jesus, Paige, you have no idea how beautiful you are.” he said in a serious tone. “You’re this rare combination of sweet and sexy that I can’t resist. There is nothing arrogant or vain about you, and that’s so damn refreshing. I love your curves, your long auburn hair, and you expressive green eyes that make my blood run hot when they go dark with desire.” His gaze dropped lower, as did his voice. “And your mouth – you fucking slay me with those soft lips and make me want to do sinful, dirty things to that warm, lush mouth.”

If you are looking for a quick, sexy, hot read with a side of kink, then this is the perfect book for you. Besides being a panty-melting read, it also told a story of second chances, of being comfortable in your own skin, and standing up for yourself.

Paige is sweet, curvy girl who designs corsets. She has insecurities like all women and she was so easy to relate to. She also has an evil stepsister, Ashley, who has made her life a living hell for years.

Sawyer was the one she wanted until one night changed everything. After a year and a half of not seeing each other, the run into each other at The Players Club, a sex club that caters to all kinds of kinks. The chemistry between them is still there and it is sizzling.

“Right here, right now, you’re the only woman I want. If you don’t want this, say the club’s safe word now, because once I touch you, really touch you, I’m not stopping until I make you come.”

I adore Sawyer. He was so honest and sweet. He always made Paige feel good and put her first.

“Jesus, Paige, you have no idea just how beautiful you are,” he said in a serious tone. You’re this rare combination of sweet and sexy I can’t resist.”

This story was scorching and I enjoyed it a lot! I would have liked to see a bit more of The Players Club, particularly with another scene between Sawyer and Paige. But that rope scene – holy hell! I can’t wait to read Jase and Kendall’s story! ~ Tiffany, 4.5 stars

I needed a quick, sexy read, one I could pick up late at night and just enjoy. I chose Playing With Pleasure because I figured it would fit the bill. And it did!! *fans self*

Paige Moore was burned in the worst way by Sawyer Burrows, and in the year and a half since, she's not found a man she can trust, or one that can help alleviate the pain. When her best friend gives her an invitation to The Players Club, it's her opportunity to have one, hot night with someone new and attempt to move on.

But when Sawyer sees Paige at the club, looking for something he knows he can give her, he becomes determined to be the man to do so. And not only that, Sawyer plans to earn Paige’s forgiveness, and win her back, once and for all. This time, he's playing for keeps.

This was a super fun, very sexy book. I read it in one sitting (actually, one lying down, since I was in bed…the best place to enjoy Sawyer Burrows, if you know what I mean *wink*), and didn't even consider putting it down. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Sawyer and Paige. He was caring, kind and deliciously dominant, and even I wanted to forgive him for his past transgressions after about two seconds. I mean, the sex… Whew, these two were just sizzling together, and I admit I am utterly fascinated by Sawyer and his ropes.

There's not a lot going on here, in terms of heart-breaking angst or over-the-top emotion, although there is one aspect (regarding consent) that's given me much pause since I put it down. Playing With Pleasure builds easily, to a very neat, good-for-the-story ending, and plants the seed for the next book in this series. I've enjoyed all the characters from The Players Club series, and the original series, The Marriage Diaries, and I always look forward to more from this author. I know that next time I'm in need (of a fun, hot, quickie), I can count on Erika Wilde to give it to me. I'm excited for Jase and Kendall’s story! ~ Beth, 4 stars

This is my second book by Erika Wilde and the second book in the Player's Club series. The books are total stand alones and you don't need to read Book #1 to read this one. For those of you who are just tuning in, the Player's Club is a sex club where...players go to do sex stuff, mkay. Paige goes to the Player's Club to snap herself out of the relationship funk she fell into after breaking up with Sawyer and who does she run into? You guessed it, Sawyer. Sawyer has regretted the clusterfuq that caused him to lose Paige and he's been using the club ever since for no strings attached kinky sex with strangers. When Sawyer sees Paige at the club he is immediately determined that if it's pleasure she wants, she's going to get it from him. As the book progresses Paige has to decide if she wants to trust Sawyer beyond just mere freaky hook ups. That's hard to do given the circumstances of the demise of their initial relationship.

I like the actual relationship between Sawyer and Paige. As they re-explore the possibilities of being together there seems to be a genuine connection between the two. Sawyer is committed to Paige and supports her in her professional endeavors. Paige also suffers from some self esteem issues that Sawyer is really good at dealing with. Sawyer offers Paige affirmation and helps her to see the things about herself that are good but that she seems to ignore.

The sex scenes in this book are also pretty good. Sawyer's particular kink involved ropes. I personally find all the ropes to be a little complicated. Like remember that cat's cradle game you played as kids? That's the visual I get from all the ropes, it just doesn't do anything for me but that's not the point. The sex scenes were still pretty good and enhanced the overall quality of the book.

Now, for what I really did not like. I did not like that Paige let her stepsister walk all over her without really standing up for herself. I just couldn't understand why after Paige's history with her stepsister she continued a relationship with her. I don't enjoy the punching bag type characters and that's the feeling Paige was giving me.

The other thing that I really don't like is that the situation which split Paige and Sawyer up was a criminal act but nobody in the book ever viewed it as such. There was no appropriate outrage over what happened and it really bothered me. If the roles had been reversed and Paige had been the one in the situation that Sawyer was in, I don't think anyone would have just overlooked it. I don't want to spoil what happens in the book even though it becomes clear pretty quickly. All I can tell you is that the depiction of the act and everyone's reaction to it really turned me off.

I think if the whole criminal thing had been depicted in a more serious way and not as just a random fluke, I could have given this book at least four stars. But because I hated how that issue was dealt with, I'm going with three stars. I still like this author, and other than that one issue I liked the book and I'm sure I'll read more by this author.

Rope Drunk

Paige and Sawyer were perfect. They had a lot of issues in their past but Paige let it go to give it a try again. I so appreciated the fact that Paige was a bigger girl and as the story went on, she gained so much confidence in herself and found herself to be desirable again. And Ashley can kick rocks..barefooted. She didn’t deserve Paige as a sister or for anything. I was glad to see her get hers in the end.

Such a beautifully written story between these 2.

I love it when I get totally sucked into a book and have a difficult time putting it down when real life beckons and I was totally sucked into this one. Playing with Pleasure had it all for me. It was a fun, second chance at love story filled with a good mix of sweet and very sexy moments, the right amount of drama to keep things interesting and well written characters that I’d love to have as friends.

I adored Paige and Sawyer. Paige is sweet, fun and has a quiet confidence that shines through when others do their best to put her down. She also has a generous nature which at times may make her seem like a pushover, but she really isn’t. She simply chooses to not deal with the bullshit and focus on the good things that are going on in her life. Sawyer is sexy as hell, dominant in all the right way and forthright. I honestly thought I’d have issues with him considering what had happened with Paige, but that never happened and in the end I really wouldn’t mind having a Sawyer of my own.

Then there is Paige and Sawyer together. They were pretty damn smexy and I was definitely not expecting what happened at The Players Club to happen, but can’t complain. They definitely had chemistry together and you could tell that they genuinely liked each other. But what I loved the most is how they finally dealt with the ‘unfortunate incident’ because they approached it like adults. Sawyer manned up and admitted to it, though there was a little twist in there and there was a bit of hesitation on Paige’s part, but she didn’t drag it out or blow it out of proportion.

The Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a fun, quick, well written second chance at love story this one is for you!

Sweet Jesus what is it with the men in this series that just makes them ooze sex, “don’t worry , you’ll be well fed,” he said, a low, teasing innuendo in his voice." I'm seriously amazed at the stamina and self restraint these boys have when around their women, "a naughty smirk curved his mouth. “It’s going to help keep my ***k under control around you. What we just did took the edge off so I can concentrate on what’s next.” I liked that he wanted to activities with his girl, “you know, dinner at a restaurant, a movie, coming back to your place and making out like horny teenagers on the couch like we did last Saturday at my place?” I love this series the women are feisty and the men are sexy.

I really enjoyed Paige and Sawyer's story

Their relationship was derailed but the pair were able to get back on track.

Paige is one determined woman. She lost both parents, had to deal with a nasty step sister but through it all she built a business and found friends that stood by her.

Sawyer had to give up Paige for a bit was anxious to win her back. He knew exactly how to woo her back into his life.

One of my favorite things about the characters is that they were able to talk about what tore them apart. Paige didn't hold a grudge with Sawyer. While she was hurt she didn't put him through all the drama and angst that some books are riddled with.

I was given an ARC for an honest review

Lust and love go hand in hand when a misunderstanding forces a man to watch the woman he loves walk away. When he finds himself on the receiving end of a second chance, he pulls out all the stops, including revealing a very private part of himself that he needs the heroine to accept in order for them to have their happily ever after.

Short and endearing

This story had Cinderella vibes but with so much more. After meeting Sawyer and Paige in book one, I never would have guessed their history. So glad Sawyer was the man he was. Good reading.

This is my first book from this author. I picked it up because the main female character is a corset designer which I thought was really cool and I wanted to know more.

I was interester to see if this series was anything similar to Club Wicked which festures an exclusive bdsm club as well. I do not really fancy second chance romances but this time I wanted to see how the couple made it work.

I would have liked the cover model to actually be plus size to represent Paige but oh well.

There will be spoilers!

What I liked was that Paige is a plus size female and that showed representation. The author mentions het making corsets for all sizes which I thought was a good message to spread. It is rare to see a situation where a male is not able to give consent or more accurately is raped. Often times we see these situations with females even though it can happen to both genders.

Good that the author turned the stereotype on it's head. Another great thing was that the author showed an important part of Bdsm which is consent.

What I did not like was that I wished the author had gone more into what goes into making a corset. It was touched on lightly and just not enough for me. Another thing was that the motivation for reading this book has to be specific, if you just want this for sex then yeah it will be great but if you are looking for more then you will be disappointed as I was.

The romance is typical and cliche, focused mostly on the physical. Paige gave in so easily, within the first few chapters her resolve to stay away from the cheater Sawyer flew out the window once he started touching her. I could appreciate the steamy and unqiue scenes as well as focus on shibari. I thought the shibari scene could have been described better, I found it hard to picture it.

But I do not like the idea romance authors give that a man can boost your confidence a d heal you. You need to get there by yourself, with help of course but that is what most romances portray. Another thing is focusing on the physical. Too much sex in a story does not really show the real naunces of a relationship. The "problem" was a misunderstanding and so there was not much to solve. In fact everything got solved easily.

It was not cool to portray the mean step sister as blond and skinny. It felt like it was perpetuating a stereotype that a mean and lazy person looks a certain way when they can look like anything.

Lastly, was the perfect and rosy version the author gave of Paige's business and it's progress. It certainly is not as easy as was described in terms of setup and promoting at the bridal expo. If she had no trust fund from her father, how did she set up the shop and have your own apartment? It felt so unrealistic and one dimensional.

In general, this was enjoyable if you want something bdsm focused but not oo hard core. The story had alot of problems. As compared to Club Wicked, this can be considered not as intense and the story occurs rarely in the club itself.

Paige and Sawyer have a history and it's not a good one. On the morning after her 26th birthday party, Sawyer comes stumbling down the stairs with Paige's step sister, Ashley close behind. In what seems to be the ultimate betrayal, Sawyer slept with Ashley. Fast forward a year and a half, Paige goes to the Players Club for a night of sensual delights and ends up with Sawyer. He is dominance over her calls to her sensual soul but she's not ready for it to go any farther. When Sawyer shows up at Paige's exclusive corset shop wanting to talk, she decides to give him the chance to say what he needs to. When they finally get together Sawyer explains all the events of the night of the birthday party including the fact that he has no recollection of anything past the point when he accepted a beer given to him by Ashley. Fortunately for him, Paige accept his explanation and is willing to try again because she does have feelings for him. They move into an easygoing relationship that gets stronger each time they see each other. Despite Ashley's best intentions to sabotage Paige at her mother's wedding and the following week at Paige's runway show for her bridal corset collection, Paige is a qualified success. She finally faces down Ashley and lets her know that she no longer has to put up with her mean spirit and ugliness. Sawyer declares his love and asks page to marry him vowing that he fell in love with her the first time they met.

This is Book 2 of The Players Club Series

This is story of Sawyer & Paige. Sawyer works in security for one of Paige's friend's husband. Her best friend Raina give her an invitation to The Players Club to get revenge on Sawyer who cheated on her a year and a half ago, or did he really? He belongs to the club, too. She wants to meet up with someone to make him jealous. She ends up with him at the club, just for pleasure, or so she claims. This is a very rocky road on her part. He step-sister has always made Paige's self-esteem drop to almost nothing. She is a wicked step-sister. Paige is a plus size, which doesn't help. All is well in the end. Paige endures so much during this story, but she comes out on top in the end. There are humorous parts to it, too. This is a great read. Yes, there is a bit of kind in this book, too.

Great as a Stand-Alone or in the Series. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I've seen so many great recommendations for Erika Wilde's work and was happy to listen and review her work narrated by a narrator that is quickly becoming one of my favorite go to narrators, Lia Langola. This book is written with a great mixture of wit, humor, smexy scenes and angst. Narration is perfect and keeps you wanting more. If you listen to just one of theses books in this series you will get so hooked that you will want more. So I went ahead and purchased the other ebooks and audible upgrades in the series and loved them just as much. I highly recommend this series, author and narrator.

WHY IS NO ONE OUTRAGED THAT THE MALE MC WAS FREAKING RAPED AND NO ONE CARED????

I truly don’t get it. I loved the story. Loved the second chance aspect. And when Sawyer explained how he believed he was roofied and then woke up with someone touching him when he didn’t want to be touched, and the same person claimed they slept together, WHY was the first thought not, “I’m pressing charges for sexual assault??” If he had been a female, that’s exactly what would have happened. Why is it different because he’s a guy? Seriously, the more I think about this, the angrier I get. I kept waiting and waiting for someone to bring this up. Up until the very last paragraph. And…. Nothing.

Major fail, Erika Wilde.

A second chance at love has never seemed so right!

Paige Moore had her heart ripped out by Sawyer and she's determined to never go down that road again, but when she finds herself at the Players Club, all bets are off.
A great second chance romance, that has lively characters, and a couple you want to cheer for. This is book 2 in the Players Club series, and as soon as I finished, I immediately bought the 3rd!
I loved that the storyline had depth to it, as well as closure on some of the past issues. Another amazing performance by Lia Langola with the Audiobook, and I highly recommend it!

Wilde and intense!

Another awesome read from Erika Wilde. Sawyer Burrows had devastated Paige a year and half ago presumably having slept with her step sister...there were no explanations and none taken. Paige is invited to The Players Club for one night to "play". The night of pleasure is with none other than Sawyer. Truths are told and petty jealousies, bitter rivalries between siblings raise their ugly heads which could destroy or bring two people together. One thing is certain the passion is intense and panty melting that you'll keep wanting more of Erika Wilde...I did!!!

3⭐️ I liked this one better than the first!

Paige visits an elite sex club and runs into her ex that she’s not over. He was a cheater even if couldn’t explain it.

I didn’t like Sawyer from the beginning purely based on his history of cheating on Paige. However their history and the explanation made me feel better about Sawyer.
Their love was more believable than book 1 couple. Again there was lots of spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 and I wasn’t crazy about the psycho step sister.

**Warning: previous cheating, date rape**

Worth the read?: YES
Reread?: NO

Read if you like:
-elite sex club
-bdsm
-second chances
-sex positivity
-female business owner
-plus size body positivity

CW: Drugging, cheating

This book was better than the first but it also convinced me to put the series away. The dialogue sounds more like high school than 20somethings and it just wasn't hitting right. On top of that, I felt like Ashley most definitely deserved more than just being disowned ... like she literally drugged someone. There's a shit ton more punishment she should have gotten for that.

OK where do I start, I`m really enjoying this series very much. The guys are sexy as hell, and the women are certainly strong and independent.
Lia has a wonderful voice, and can change from male to female with much ease, at times I did find the third person narrative just a little monotone.
When Lia is in character it`s fantastic, you can really fall into the story with much ease.

Great second chance romance. Loves that Paige is not the typical model type leading lady. Her stepsister Ashley is a piece of work. Sawyer is dominant and alpha as they come. The scenes at the club were some of the hottest scenes I've heard. Lia Langola's narration is top notch. She brought this story to life. I'd listen to her narrations of romance books without hesitation.
