Trixie is still quite young by vampire standards and boy does she live up to her reputation! Bold, brash., with attitude but Trixie is not really the bratty punk she pretends to be. What she really doesn't need though is the cowboy vampire Dakota poking his ( admittedly attractive) nose in her business so when he follows her one night lets just say Trixie is not exactly jumping for joy. Dakota lost his maker and has missed out on that close bond but when he scents something deadly near Trixie it brings back bad memories but that's nothing compared to what Trixie will do to him when those she cares for come under the firing line!
I loved Dakota with his love of Stetsons and penchant for sucking on lollipops ! He is still quite new in town and totally bewildered by the vampires living in the city but Trixie intrigues him and she's a puzzle that he can't resist . Oh Trixie I did guess your secret quickly I admit but there are hidden depths to this girl that truly made her an interesting character . I don't wish to say too much but my favourite type of paranormal creature features in this book which really paves the way for the author to explore and hopefully expand. Lots of secrets and drama as the story unfolded with unexpected additions ( witches anyone ?) but for this reader the humorous interactions are what really tickled me . It's intricate with an unexpected outcome but most of all fun. Oh and I have to say these book covers are amongst my favourites so I'm happy to recommend this book to those like myself who enjoy a sexy paranormal romance

Dakota is a home town cowboy with fangs. Cinnamon lollipop eating, his quiet demeanor only hides his prowess on the battle field.

Trixie is the epitome of the goth vampire. Bold, in your face attitude, she dresses like a young punk rocker and has personality to back it up.

Little in common, except vampirism, when their world collides sparks fly.

Humor, action and a very twisty plot makes The Good, The Bad, and The Vampire and great, sexy, paranormal romance read.

I received this ARC copy of The Good, The Bad, and the Vampire from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication January 8, 2016.

3.5 Sexy, cinnamon cowboy stars

Trixie hides behind her tough-as-nails, punk rock attitude. She hides the guilt and remorse she has because of bad decisions she made as a human. And basically keeps a part of herself hidden from everyone, even the people she is close to. But then sexy vampire cowboy, Dakota Shelton, comes to town, and it takes everything she has to keep him at a distance.

Dakota is from Texas, a cowboy at heart, who loves his cinnamon lollipops, because they remind him of being human. He has a lot of cowboy charm, and can’t help being interested in Trixie, and trying to figure out who she really is.

I really liked Dakota and his sexy and sweet cowboy ways. I loved how he treated the skittish Trixie, knowing that there is more to her than the snarky attitude she portrays to everyone. No matter how many times she tried to push him away, he kept on trying to befriend her, to climb the walls she has built around herself.

It was refreshing to have a heroine who wasn’t perfect. She made a lot of wrong choices when she was a human, and because of those choices, it influenced the way she acted as a vampire. She believes that succumbing to the attraction she has for Dakota will take her back to the weak person she was as a human, and does everything she can to deter him and the growing feelings she has for him.

The romance between Trixie and Dakota was sweet and a slow burn. Mostly because of Trixie, and her continuous rejection of Dakota. At times I got very frustrated with her, even though I understood why she felt the way she did, I just wanted to shake some sense into her and tell her she was blind for not seeing how wonderful he was. Luckily she did eventually come to her senses, and I really enjoyed them as a couple.

I can’t go into detail about the storyline, because I don’t want to give anything away. So all I’ll say is that this was a very sweet addition to this series.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review via Netgalley

The cover is hot, and it definitely fits in with the rest of the series.

This is the 4th book in the series. As soon as I saw this book, I knew I wanted to read it because I loved book 3. This book is for adults only due to the steamy content.

I loved reading this book. I hated that it took me so long, but life was interfering with my enjoyment of this book. I wanted to sit down and read it straight through without stopping. I loved how spunky Trixie is and how much she has overcome. Of course, Dakota is the sexy southern cowboy and had my heart from the start. Their journey together was packed with actions and surprises. I love when a book grabs my attention and doesn’t let go.

Sara does a fantastic job creating her magical world where you never know what will happen next. I love this world and can’t wait to be immersed in it again! I hope to get book 1 and 2 and read them soon!

I highly recommend this series to any paranormal fan because it is an awesome series filled with supernatural creatures!

Although this book it can certainly be read as a stand alone book and i really did enjoy it.

This book includes a lot of paranormal beings, Vampires, Demons, Witches and Gargoyles and meshed them to make a really good story with an original storyline.

Trixie was funny and stronger than she realised and Dakota was a true gentleman.

You really feel that you are going through Trixie's emotions and are really there with her, especially as she learns the true reason that she is afraid.

I would certainly recommend this book and i will probably look back at seeing what else this author has written at some point.

Initial Thoughts: I enjoyed this latest offering of the Dead in the City series. This is one of those fun and no fuss series that you can always just pick up and read. Though you do need to read them in order; they are always witty, passionate and a great ride. I enjoyed watching Dakota and Trixie dance around each other. As each one of the obstacles that they had to their Happily Ever After would come down, another would seem to pop up. However, I really enjoyed the addition of the gargoyles as a supernatural group. The overall plot of them was fascinating and I liked the conclusion. Looking forward to seeing more of that in future novels, I hope. I had heard that this might be the last book in this series, but I hope not. I really have enjoyed this spin-off from the Amoveo series and hope that even if it spins-off again for Gargoyles, there will be more in this world. Even though he is highly skilled and deadly dangerous, Dakota Shelton is still just a good ol’ boy with his heart set on wooing the most badass punk rock chick in town in this exciting paranormal romance.

Trixie LaRoux is tough as nails and the last thing she wants is a man and the readers can’t help but get caught up in the fireworks that fly when Trixie and Dakota go to hell and back fighting a new threat to vampires. There is no denying the sizzling chemistry between Dakota and Trixie as it heats up the pages but it’s the sparks that really set things blazing in this courtship because Trixie is bound and determined to resist Dakota’s sexy cowboy charm with lots of heated clashes, snark and emotional turbulence. Strong, captivating characters demand reader’s attention right from the start and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement, romance and humor.

Dakota’s discovery of Trixie’s secret sets events in motion that has adrenaline pumping excitement building as a new threat puts Trixie and the coven in the path of a very deadly adversary with unexpected twists adding surprise and intrigue to the story. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images that make it easy for the reader to become immersed in the story while the intriguing events draw the reader in and refuse to let go.

The NYC vamps have done it again as I was completely delighted by Dakota and Trixie’s story as they both charmed me with their quick witted personalities and of course who can resist a sexy vampire cowboy…certainly not this woman.

REVIEW: THE GOOD, THE BAD, and THE VAMPIRE is the fourth installment in Sara Humphreys’ contemporary, adult DEAD IN THE CITY paranormal romance series-a spin off from her Amoveo Legend series. This is vampire and Presidium sentry/ cowboy Dakota Shelton, and bartender/ snarky vampire Trixie LaRoux’s story line. Trixie is Maya’s sister, whom we met in book two-VAMPIRE TROUBLE. THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE VAMPIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dakota and Trixie) THE GOOD, THE BAD, and THE VAMPIRE focuses on the building relationship between Dakota and Trixie, as well as the hunt for a missing child, and the re-emergence of a supernatural power long thought extinct. Dakota and Trixie are bloodmates unaware of their fated coupling. Although the attraction between them is immediate, Trixie continues to push Dakota in the opposite direction while she endeavors to keep secret a part of her past that is easily deduced by the reader. When Dakota discovers Trixie’s hidden agenda, our couple come together to search for the truth, and the whereabouts of a small child that is close to Trixie’s non-beating heart.

The relationship between Dakota and Trixie is one of immediate attraction but Trixie denies that any chemistry exists. Trixie is a woman who keeps too many secrets and doesn’t want anyone to know about her late night travels, and where it is she goes. Dakota is a cowboy; a former Texan whose vampire lifestyle and history of killing could very well place him in danger when his entire past is revealed. While Dakota and Trixie search for a missing child, Dakota’s past resurfaces from the grave seeking vengeance and retribution. Both Dakota and Trixie have pasts mired in secrets, sins, darkness and betrayal. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and erotic.

Most of the previous story line couples play a secondary and supporting role including Trixie’s sister Maya and her mate Shane, as well as the Presidium Czars Olivia and Doug. We are also introduced to a species not previously mentioned in the series-I am wondering if Sara plans another spin off or will entwine these new characters into the current series.

The world building continues to focus on the supernatural world of vampires, werewolves, witches and more-a world that must be hidden from the human population, but a world that is growing with every installment and character introduction. THE GOOD, THE BAD, and THE VAMPIRE ventures into new territory-Texas to be exact-and the possibility of a new paranormal series.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, and THE VAMPIRE has a little bit of everything: love, lust, romance and $ex; heartbreak, betrayal and deceit; supernatural elements; and a happily every after. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are colorful, charismatic and animated; the romance is a push and pull between two people whose past lives have control over their present. Sara Humphreys adds another fascinating element to her paranormal series of stories and romances.

The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire is my favorite in Sara Humphrey's Dead in the City series! How can you not love a cowboy vampire with a lollipop fetish?

The heroine, Trixie puts out this punk rocker attitude. She outspoken and acts like she doesn't care about much. But it's all a mask to hide the hurt she feels over her past. So she's thrown for a loop when this Texan yahoo shows up in her Coven (vampire family) and has her feeling things she's never felt before.

The hero, Dakota is a sentry and new to the New York City Coven. He's only been with them for about two years and he still doesn't feel like part of the family. When he's not working to protect the city he is trying to get to know one feisty filly.

Dakota and Trixie is a perfect example of opposites attract; city girl and a country boy. Add in the fact they both have fangs and the fun really begins. They flirt and try to drive each other crazy but they never let it go any further than that. And it's mostly due to Trixie. She's a love them and leave them kind of gal. She's not looking to have a relationship because she doesn't want to be hurt like she's been in the past. Dakota sees through Trixie's act to the woman underneath the crazy hair color changes and thick makeup she uses as a mask.

The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire is full of mystery that surrounds a group of gargoyles that everyone that was an extinct species. This mystery brings out both our heroine and hero's past and helps them to understand each other better and gives them that extra push they need to get to their HEA.

If you're looking for a sexy vampire romance with some action to keep you turning the page you should check out The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire by Sara Humphreys. You can easily enjoy it as a stand alone or part of the series.

Totally awesome

I loved reading Dakota and Trixie's story. I felt like I was taking this journey with Trixie and learning life lessons right along with her. Your past doesn't dictate your future. And Dakota, what can I say about him, he's a hot cowboy vampire. I think I've found my new book boyfriend.
Well done Sara Humphreys. You keep writing them and I'll keep buying them.

The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire is so far my favorite in Sara Humphrey's Dead in the City series! Dakota, a vampire, a cowboy, fierce, brutal and a sentry loves his lollipops.
Trixie his future bloodmate hides behind a punk rocker attitude. Trixie is outspoken and acts like she doesn't care about much, but this is her way of protecting herself from the hurt she feels over her past.
They are opposites, but his attraction to her began the first time he saw her. She fights it but nature will have its way.
The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire is full of mystery that includes a group of gargoyles that everyone thought was an extinct species. Both our heroine and hero's past helps them to understand each other and helps Trixie to accept her future with Dakota.
Good reading for those who enjoy reading about romance, action and happy endings

I accidentally started this story at book 4 of the Dead in the City series and with only a little confusion on the world building I felt this read pretty well as a stand-alone. Trixie is a vampire but she's still a pretty young vampire. Young enough to still have blood family living and when that family is threatened she's ready to throw her training away to try and save them. Dakota has been trying hard to not act on his attraction to Trixie but when it's discovered they're bloodmates, he can't hold his feelings back. And when her family becomes threatened he would do anything to protext them as well. But secrets from Dakota's past threaten their future. Will they be able to uncover the truth before the past catches up to them? Really fun, sexy vampire story. Intrigued enough to go back to the beginning!

The fourth book of Dead in The City Series by Sara Humphreys and I believe this is not the final book coz there's Damien and Suzie. It's Trixie, our punk and sexy Bartender heroine and Dakota, our Cowboy cinnamon lollipop sucker vampire Sentry story. I love Dakota! Ever since he was introduced in the series. I'm so glad that it's his and Trixie's turn have a love story. I crack so much at the first part of this book when Suzie just tell the whole coven minus Sadie and Killian who are currently in Alaska, that Trixie and Dakota are bloodmates and man! Shane! Yes! Our OLD VAMP SENTRY Shane followed Dakota and give him advice. Really! That scene makes me laugh so hard. I really miss the other girls since one by one in their Coven found their own Bloodmates and this time It's Trixie's turn.
So far, I like this book. I really like the story especially now I know Trixie's past and I can't believe that she had a daughter when she was a human and a young age. And only few people knows her secret. Then now she's a grandma? A very young looking grandma with a Witch bloodline! lol! Plus, her weakness, her fear, they way she pushes Dakota. There's sometime in the book that I'm annoyed at Trix but I do understand her, there's a lot of issues in her life and that's why she pushes Dakota away in the early to the mid part of the series. Dakota, oh I really love Dakota! Next to Shane and Dough! He's one of my fave hero in this series. Who will not love this cowboy, hot, sexy, and deadly sentry? He's a Vampire Sex GOD for me! Plus, his humor! I really love it! I do feel him when he found out the truth about his Maker and it's nice to know that there's a another paranormal entities included in the series that mention on the other three books. The Gargoyles and this really got my interest more in the series. I do hope that Sara will make a character that match with the Gargoyles or a new series. there's some part of the story that makes me skip or scan it and read the other scenes since sometimes, Like I said, Trixie annoys me with her life hang ups.

overall I like this book. I really hope I the story of Suzie will be release soon. I really wonder who is her bloodmate if it's not Damien and what is her life secret? If she's a witch, gypsy other sorceress? And also I want to know Damien's bloodmate! and Emperor Zhao! He's really a mysterious old vampire.

I rate this 4.0 out of 5.0 stars!

A cowboy and a punk rock chick? Both vampires? I wasn't exactly sure what to expect because this is my first book in this series. I thought it would be a fun, sexy story about opposites attracting which it was, but it's also a tale of regrets, treachery, betrayal and love.

Dakota Shelton is just a good ol' cowboy from Texas and quite out of his element in New York, but the scenery in the form of one tough as nails punk rock chick is quite interesting and Dakota has never been one to back down from a challenge.

Trixie LaRoux has the rest of her undead life to mull over the mistakes and regret the choices she made as a human and she would love to do that without the newest member of their coven, Dakota and his cinnamon lollipops in her face or following her around, thank you very much. But Dakota doesn't seem to be getting the message, which is actually a good thing because his persistence soon leads him to a discovery that puts Trixie and everything she holds dear in peril and she'll need his help.

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE VAMPIRE was a new take on the vampire lore for me and I enjoyed it very much. With a snarky, outspoken heroine and a sweet, old-fashioned hero, this is an engaging and action-filled story that comes with a mystery that spans centuries, destinies that have been entwined for decades as well as lots of witty and humorous moments. Trixie and Dakota are the embodiment of opposites attracting but they are also very enjoyable characters and Dakota's siege on Trixie's heart was fun to read.

I absolutely loved the mystery in this book and I'll recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of action and mystery with their romance. I hope that future books in the series will explore the otherworldly characters introduced to us in this book.

A fast-paced, sexy shifter romance...

"You are a spitfire of a woman, do you know that? You remind me of a horse that hasn't been broken yet. All skittish and full of wild energy."
"Are you for real?" Her jaw fell open. "Did you just compare me to a horse?"

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE VAMPIRE by Sara Humphreys is a fast-paced, sexy shifter romance. It's the fourth book in Sara's Dead in the City series, but don't let that steer you away, because it works well as a standalone, if that is your preference. Fans of the series will enjoy catching up with favorite characters from the previous installments. This is the story of Dakota Helton, the newest sentry for the Presideum, the vampire government, and Trixie LaRoux, the wild child goth chick in the eclectic New York City vampire coven.

Both leads were genuine and likeable. They were opposites in many ways and quite accomplished at tap dancing around each other. Dakota was the epitome of a good old cowboy from Texas. He loves his Stetsons and I chuckled over his obsession to lollipops. This is the first time I've read about vampires and lollipops... together. He's a badass sentry - deadly, stealthy, and full of swagger.

Trixie seemed to be tough - but that persona was really just part of the facade she's erected around herself to keep others from seeing the real Trixie. As a human, she suffered from addiction. Becoming a vampire freed her from that addiction. But... deep down, she still feels like a loser and she's terrified of becoming addicted again... this time to a hot, sexy male: Dakota.

I know when I pick up a book by Sara, that I'm in for a treat. This story is solid from start to finish. Add in Sara's imaginative plot twists and I positively could not put this book down until I'd read the last page. I highly recommend THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE VAMPIRE to anyone who relishes an entertaining shifter romance.

Another fabulous addition to one of my favorite worlds to visit, The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire was everything I hoped it would be and so much more!
Trixie with her punk rock attitude has had my curiosity building with each appearance in previous books and I was really excited to get her story, especially when Dakota and his lollipops came onto the scene.

There is so much going on in this book that it’s hard to put all of my gushy feelings into words without spoilers, but I’ll try. Trixie and Dakota are both great characters, and their worlds get rocked in this book. The best way to put it is that Ms. Humphreys puts these two through the wringer, shaking foundations and throwing curve after curve into their HEA highway. Seeing them come together as a couple and grow individually to fit into their new “normal” was only one way in which The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire shines. The world building was excellent to begin with, but one of the things I’ve noticed since becoming addicted *wink* to Ms. Humphreys’ work is the seamless way her worlds expand without breaking cannon. This book is no exception as new beings and abilities come to light. The sense of family is ingrained in each book, reminding us all that family is less about genetics and more about connection.

Traveling outside the coven’s home territory of NYC, Trixie and Dakota have to navigate without the help of their leaders and friends to search for a missing child, legendary missing gold, and uncover truths about themselves and the world in which they live. We get so much more insight into our sexy Dakota by visiting his home in Texas and see a side of Trixie that I’m not sure she even knew she was hiding until the end. Dakota’s patience and old world charm won me right over to his side and had me rooting for him every step of the way, and made Trixie’s acceptance of all they could be to each other all the sweeter. Their love scenes were steamy with the right amount of sweet. Their journey is fantastic!

I recommend this book to PNR lovers, UF lovers, and anyone who just likes a good story about mythical beings.
My first 5 Star read of 2016.

Finally I made it to the book that prompted me to work through this entire series recently. I was approved for this book review late in 2015 and since there were not that many previous book I decided to start at the beginning. An excellent choice by the way and I highly recommend it if you are new to this spin-off series. So was it worth all the effort? Yes, I have discovered a delightful new world to play in and I want to go and check out the series that this one is spun off of. This book however, just didn’t click with me as much as its predecessors, let me tell you why.

Mainly I think it has to do with the cowboy. Oh sure Dakota is a great guy, very sweet and I’m happy that he and Trixie have found their H.E.A, but I’m just not into cowboys. I also like a little bit more edge to my alpha males, Dakota is a bit too goody-two-shoes for me. I know it will have all the feminists pulling their hair out, but he was just too polite and didn’t catch my personal interest at all. Oh well. Trixie also got on my nerves a bit. I’m not able to put my finger on it exactly, but there was something there that kept me from identifying with her too. I caught myself think ‘oh common’ a few times when it came to her issues to overcome and brash attitude.

I’m happy I read the book and the points mentioned above really didn’t ruin it for me, but they are the reason for the rating it received. I liked visiting with the gang again and learning about the new supernatural species that the plot revolves around. I also enjoyed how the author dealt with the issue of first impressions and prejudiced in this story. Something that gets the reader thinking is always a plus. I am wondering where this series will take us next as I think many of the original characters are paired up. There were a few new ones added to the family though so perhaps one of them will be next.

Nice addition to the series. Not my favorite, but that has more to do with personal taste than anything with the book really. Looking forward to seeing where we go next and I really need to go and check out more of this author’s work!

This is the 4th book in the Dead in the City series. The author had created this wonderful paranormal world set in modern day New York. Vampires, shifters, gargoyles, witches…this book brings out all the things that go bump in the night! We meet Dakota, newest enforcer for the Vampires. He is a classic good old fashioned cowboy. A very s3xy cowboy. He has his eye Ms. Trixie LaRoux. Being the bad a$$ party girl that she is, she has no intention of getting involved with a vampire. She absolutely does not want anyone poking around in her business, even her well meaning family.

Dakota proves to be just as stubborn as Trixie and won’t give up without a fight. Loved the sharp wit and one liners between these two. Trixie can’t deny she is attracted to the stubborn cowboy but she isn’t ready to give her heart away yet. When trouble comes looking for those Trixie cares about, Dakota steps up to help her out. Despite her reluctance, her heart starts to latch on to Dakota. They are destined to be mates.

This book has lots of action. An unknown menace. Lots of guilty baggage the hero and heroine are hanging on to. Oh, and all the steamy benefits of having a true mate of your own. Loved that Trixie held her own and although she fell in love, she didn’t give up her attitude or strong determination. Loved catching up with the previous couples in the series as well. Overall….just a lovely read! Start at the beginning so you understand the world building. Enjoy getting to know this author!

The Good, the Bad and the Vampire is the 4th book in the Dead in the City series by Sara Humpreys. It continues the trend with an entertaining story and characters that stand out from one another. I liked Dakota and Trixie together. Dakota was charming and sexy and worked hard to gain Trixie’s trust. Trixie was spunky and tough with a deeply vulnerable side that she does her best to keep hidden. I appreciated, that their romance wasn’t an instant love story. They first met 2 years prior and while drawn to each other they kept their distance and had no idea they were bloodmates.

In this story, a widely believed extinct supernatural species emerges from the shadows, sparking dangerous events and unearthing a centuries old mystery. Trixie and Dakota find themselves working together while trying to navigate their new and tentative bond. Dakota is ready to throw all in but Trixie takes some convincing as her fear holds her back.

I really enjoyed this new installment in the Dead in the City series. It’s fast paced, romantic, exciting and sexy. We get to revisit past characters, meet new ones, and learn a bit more about a couple secondary characters. I’m quite curious to see whose story will be next.

I would recommend The Good, The Bad and the Vampires to fans of the series and fans of paranormal romance.

WOW!!! how Love Sara Humphreys' Dead in the City Series.
I love the story-line on fated mates (or blood mates as she
calls it). I have loved these books from the first book.
Although these can be read as standalones. I recommend
you read them all in order, as there is background story that
unfolds as each book progresses. Like how the coven moves along with each couple as they find one another. Now this
one was one I have been waiting for. Dakota a texen from
back in the day southern boy and all his charm. and Trixie
our punk rock goddess, who's hair changes color more often
then most of us change clothes. Even though she tries to
deni her feelings for Dakota, it is hard to turn a blind eye
to the wonderful man. and when he helps save someone
close to her,( you will be so shocked with this one, but
I am not telling) she finds it even harder to deni her feeling
for him. Man I can not wait to see who finds their mate next.
I am hoping its our wonderful Damien and Suzie. Now before
I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this
book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please
consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when
you do, they value your opinions too.

Dead in the city, #4: The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire was a good fun read for the end of a good series. In this story you read Trixie La Roux and Dakota Shelton story. Dakota is a good old fashion cowboy turned vampire. Trixie is a vampire who lives with a lot of pain and a big secret. Trixie and Dakota are destined to be blood mates if they can survive what lies ahead the two of them. In this paranormal romance you will meet gargoyles, witches, a turn coat vampire and other paranormal creatures. You will read about a legend of gold and gargoyles and if they are truly extinct. Dakota is a person who believes in loyalty and honesty. Trixie is the type of person who has a problem trusting people if they are outside of her family ( coven). There is a one vampire that I hope gets her own story soon. Susie is the youngest vampire of this fun loving coven, she is very shy and meek and afraid of her own shadow. So I know there is a very entertaining back story to what made her that way. if you love paranormal romances with lots of twist and turns. Then this series is for you.

Trixie´s the surly one of the bunch, with her colourful hair and attitude, but cowboy sentry Dakota is on to her. He knows there´s more than meets the eye with this one, and he´s oh so tempted to know more. He gets his chance when he follows her and catches a scent he thought he´d never find again..
Trixie´s got a past that hurts, and this cowboy trying to make it feel better is slowly but surely getting in there, but can she risk it?
When dangers comes along, she´ll have to make a decision..
PNR Romance, vampires, action, suspense and smutty fluff in a great combo, and a drawling cowboy vampire that will melt your heart <3
Love this series!

Another great instalment to the Dead in the City series, I really enjoy this author, her writing style and the banter between her characters! Though this could be read as a stand alone, I'd suggest starting at the beginning of the series before this one as old characters play roles in each book and to help give you a clear picture of the world.
I must admit I did enjoy the H and the h's relationship from start to finish. It was great also to hear about the lives of the previous characters, without them over taking the main characters story.
It had a bit of a twist at the end which I didn't predict, always nice to get a surprise!
Overall a very enjoyable read, thanks!

It has been a while since I have read a story of vampires. Although this is the 4th book in a series and I have not read any of the previous books, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Given that, I would like to go back and read the others in the series. For me, this was such a different take on vampires and the interaction of the paranormal world. There was so much involved and enriched story between Trixie, the badass chick and Dakota, the Texas cowboy. I was so into this book that I read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Highly Recommend! I was gifted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. I was only asked for an honest review. 4.5 Stars!

The Universe has fun pairing up a cowboy from Texas and a punk rock from New York. And they're both vampires. This is one of Ms. Humphreys' best books of the series. She cares enough to hone her craft which improves her writing. Having read the first three, I noticed the smooth flow of the plot, effective portrayal of characters, and creative language that graces this book.

The highs and lows of Trixie and Dakota kept me reading into the night many times. Rooting for their love to work for them and their families. If you want a story that will keep you engrossed, cheering for the good guys, and filled with romance, pick this one up.

Thanks for another five star read.

Even though he is highly skilled and deadly dangerous, Dakota Shelton is still just a good ol’ boy with his heart set on wooing the most badass punk rock chick in town in this exciting paranormal romance. The NYC vamps have done it again as I was completely delighted by Dakota and Trixie’s story as they both charmed me with their quick witted personalities and of course who can resist a sexy vampire cowboy…certainly not this woman.

4 ½ STARS

Another hit for Sara Humphreys!! Just lovin the cowboy Vampire Dakota and his old fashioned ways. He really has his hands full with the very modern Vampire Trixi. So many things go down in this story and it's another hot one that you don't want to miss! I sure hope there will be more! Highly recommend!!!!

Dakota and Trixies story is by far my favorite in the Dead in the City series. When I first started this series I knew Olivia only changed the "wounded".. but this one really pulled at my heart. I was smiling and tearing up down to the very end.
