After years of hard work and determination, I am exactly where I want to be in life. As the top ranked Freestyle Motocross rider in the world, I have more money than I could ever dream of spending and gorgeous women throwing themselves at me in every city I land. I have everything I could ever want.
Everything except her.
While in Breckenridge for my best friend’s wedding, I was introduced to Dakota Shavell, a friend of the bride-to-be, and from the moment our blue gazes met, sparks flew. What I initially intended to be a single steamy night together turned into a scorching two week road trip to New Orleans with a sassy-mouthed blonde. Being between her legs gave me a bigger adrenaline rush than I’d ever gotten from flying through the air while straddling a bike.
It was supposed to just be fun, a good time. I planned to walk away unchanged.
But it was more. Feelings I never intended to have got involved, and I’ll never be the same.
Yet, I still walked away.
Except now I’m injured and my outlook has changed. Priorities have become clear.
And I’m going back to reclaim her…to show her that together we can make the fire between us burst into flames.

Sexy and sweet motocross romance. Medium angst but with very likeable characters. H is a cocky charmer of a manho but he is a great guy - a hard worker, a good friend and family guy. h is a college girl raised by hippie parents but she's got her head screwed on right and also owns her libido. She's a bad girl but with a good heart - my favourite kind!! H chases h, there is insta-lust which builds into love. h agrees to go on a two-week roadtrip with H on his bus ( along with his cousin, also a moto racer, and his wife) as a fling and to see the country on her vacation and they fall for each other in that time!! There is a short separation - H begs h to stay but she says she has to follow her own career - followed by a HEA:) H chases h and moves bag and baggage to her town.
Safety:
H and h communicated very well and were straight with each other. No games. The h had great self-esteem and also made smart choices every single time. I liked this romance a lot!! And may have found a new favourite author!!
So I have fallen head over heels in love with this family. First meeting the Shavell’s in Spark I couldn’t wait to see how this story would spin. From the first word in the book you are captivated and sucked in, turning the pages faster than your eyes can read.
I’m soaring.
James “501” Levi, this guys, this guy is sex on a stick. Well not on a stick more like on a motorcycle. He is the top ranked Freestyle Motocross rider in the world. He has money, he has fame he has women, basically all his needs are met. Well at least that is what he thinks till he meets her.
Yelping with surprise at the unexpected contact, her chin jerks up, throwing her long, straw-colored hair over her shoulder, and her startled blue gaze lifts to mine. She hisses in a breath when our eyes meet. Or I do. Maybe it’s both of us. I’m not sure, but someone definitely sucked in an oh-hell-yeah hiss.
Dakota Shavell is back home for her summer break. In school to become a message therapist she is a free spirited woman. She does what she wants when she wants to. And from the first meeting you know that it’s going to be explosive.
As I take a single step forward to close the gap between us, her bright, expressive eyes grow wide, not with concern, but with anticipation. “No, Sunshine, I promise if we’d have met before, there’s no way in hell you could ever forget something like that.” I wink. “Nor would you want to.”
So imagine everyone’s surprise when her friend from school is getting married to his best friend and she just snagged an invite. If that isn’t fate I don’t know what is!
When she places her dainty hand in mine, a jolt of electricity surges through me, culminating at my now throbbing erection, and the goose bumps blanketing her arm assure me I’m not the only one feeling this thrill.
When circumstances have her in the bridal party right next to him, you know fireworks will be blowing up. My gaze quickly sweeps over the sea of faces in the crowd until it lands on the one I’m looking for, standing directly to the left of the groom in front of the vine trellis: Mr. James Levi. Oh, hell yes. Come to momma big boy.
This is where I started my giggling fest. Not only are these two going to sexual combust if they don’t get together, they have inner thought conversations. It’s the strangest and most intriguing thing I have ever read.
So not only is he the hottest sexual thing, she is one sassy mouthed girl. She gives just as good as she gets, and when it comes to Levi she gets a lot.
When their one night together is a bust, Levi does something he has never done before. He invites her to spend two weeks with him on his tour bus. No one is more shocked that his friends. You see Levi is a wham bam..lots of bam..thank you ma’am. He doesn’t do the whole dating thing, let alone spends two weeks on a bus with that same person. But yet again he has never met Dakota.
As I shower and get dressed to head downstairs. I can’t help but wonder at the queasy feeling in my gut. Is it because of Dakota, or can I blame it on whatever those pills were I swallowed last night? What is it about this girl that I find so magnetic? So enticing?
Dakota has nothing to lose and also nothing to do so she gives into Levi and agrees to touring with him for two weeks. I mean in the end if anything at least she will have the time of her life and have some very good sex.
I get a chance to respond, a familiar, deep male voice answers for me, seconds before the heat from him penetrates my dress. He’s right behind me, not quite touching, but if I rocked back on my heels, we’d be pressed tight.
So that is what they do, they go on this adventure. None of them are expecting anything from the other. It’s just a fun time, and the sex. Holy mother of Elisabeth the sex is through the stinking roof. I seriously would need a firehouse to calm down form the hotness that they are together.
I’m not sure if I hear her or feel her presence first. Common sense tells me I can’t really feel someone’s presence, but I swear a wave of electricity zings up my spine seconds before the sound waves of Dakota’s rich, honeyed laughter reach my ears.
But what happens when the two weeks are over and you have to pack to go home? No more chicken and waffles, no more bike talk, no more sex, no more Levi. Can Dakota be strong enough to walk away and will Levi watch her walk?
Then, with a final wave, I pivot around on my heel and walk inside the airport, unable to look back at the man I’ve fallen in love with.
It was supposed to just be fun, it was supposed to be a good time. It was supposed to be a passing fling. They both planned to walk away from each other with everything still in tack. Except the feelings that came blew them both out of the water.
I’ve missed him. His touch. His voice. His smell. The feel of his body against mine. Everything about him fills the gaping hole of emptiness I’ve been living with. Him. Just him.
The flame between them was so bright you couldn’t even see through it, but when it dims you know that he is the one you want standing next to you holding your hand keeping that flame alive. Now he needs to show her that this flame isn’t dimming ever. It’ll be a fight but it’ll be so worth it.
I really liked FLAME! The storyline and the love scenes and the action scenes are all fantastic!!
Dakota finds herself taking a road trip with friends while she is on a break from school. Dakota goes along with Levi, Gunner and Emmy Sue on a trip for Levi and Gunner’s motocross bike races. Levi is HOT but Dakota stays away from relationships. So this trip is perfect for the both of them: a hot hook-up with no promise of anything permanent. I loved Dakota’s character: she is smart, strong-willed and not afraid to go after what she wants But when the road trip ends, will she be able to walk away from Levi?
Dakota is from an unconventional family and I love how her free spirit shines through in this book. Levi is immediately attracted to her spirit but he is very honest about not wanting anything more than sex while they are on the road. He doesn’t “do” relationships either. But is he ever HOT!!
“Sunshine,” Levi leans over to me, resting his hand on the inside of my thigh, right below the frayed hem of my shorts, “I promise I want to learn all about your family. They sound cool as fuck—especially the part about the weed farm—but can we get back to where you said motocross is driving fast and doing stupid, crazy-ass stunts while flying through the air? ’Cause if you’re gonna be my girl on this trip, we need to give you a crash course tonight in all things motocross, so you can truly appreciate my awesomeness when you see me in action.”
These two have some great banter and the action scenes are incredible! Although this is the second book in a series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone. If you love a great new adult romance with plenty of sizzle and smart, witty banter, then you will LOVE FLAME!
I can't get enough of Erin Noelle's writing! It's mature, the words just flow together and the writing it amazing. This book was amazing!! I laughed out loud, I swooned, I cried like a baby(mostly bc I'm a sap and I cry when something hits home) and I couldn't put this book down. Erin really knows how to capture a readers attention and keep you enthralled! This book is a mix of love, sexy, steamy, hot and all around amazing!! I can't wait for the next book in the series, I need more Thor the Great and Princess Lizzie!! James "501" Levi is MY new book boyfriend!!! This book is a definite 100 stars and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
ARC given by author in return for a honest review.. OMG this book ABSOUTLY PHENOMINIAL!! Words can not describe how I feel... I loved Spark (book 1 in this series) So of course I totally fell in love with both James "Mr. 501" Levi and Dakota (Kota)...in Flame. This book had me hooked from the first page. Neither James or Dakota really looking for anything other then a occasional hook up until they meet each other at a restaurant where she is at for her sister Hudson's boyfriend Crew's birthday dinner (Hudson and Crew are book 1.) James is there for his Best Friend (and cousins) wedding rehearsal dinner.. James is headed out for a "breather" when he runs smack into Dakota coming in.. You know from that meeting there is that spark..(or FLAME for that matter..) Its instant.. So when things happen and one of the brides maids comes down sick day of the wedding.. who is called in for a replacement?? Yup Dakota!! Then when Mr.501 himself gets sick.. Dakota is there to nurse him back to health.. He ask's her in his sicken state to go on tour with him along with here friend and his cousin (Emmie Sue and Gunner)for 2 weeks just for fun she agrees..... Seriously what could happen in 2 weeks..
I soooo loved in "Inner" conversations these two had.. the way the spoke to each other with out words.. And her nickname for him and his "member". This book had me giggling and swooning and almost crying all at the same time.. This book is a MUST READ.. You wouldn't necessary need to read book 1 but I highly recommend it .. You wont be disappointed.
I want to jump James Levi!! Yes, I said it! Dakota and Levi may be my Favourite characters created by Erin Noelle to date.
He's a super hot motocross racer and she's a sassy fireball and neither of them are looking for love. When these 2 personalities collide SPARKs fly and the chemistry is sizzling hot!
“The control he has over my body, over my thoughts, is alarming. The constant desire to either slap or kiss the permanent smirk off his ruggedly handsome face consumes me when I’m around him. The push-and-pull between us comes way too easy, and to be quite honest, it unnerves me.”
5 stars!! Ugh I can’t stress how much I loved this book!!! I loved Dakota and her sassy attitude and I loved Levi and his adorable cockiness!! I devoured this book in one sitting!! I literally couldn’t put it down!!!
I’m soaring.

***Though Flame is the second book in the Fire on the Mountain Series, it is an interconnected stand alone novel***
Levi is a cocky, love ‘em and leave ‘em, freestyle motocross champion. Dakota is a free spirited, love ‘em and leave ‘em girl. Neither of them are looking for love or a relationship, they have too much on their plate. Of course that changes when Levi meets Dakota at his best friends wedding. There’s a spark and electricity that courses through them the minute they touch. The speak to each other through looks and brainwaves. They connect on a level that neither of them have ever connected. After the wedding, Levi becomes ill and Dakota decides that she’ll take him back to his hotel room and nurse him back to health. Before he passes out, he tells Dakota he wants her to go on tour with him for the next 2 weeks before he leaves for X-Games. Not sure if it’s a good idea, she throws caution to the wind and goes with him, his best friend and his wife. After being on the bus for 2 seconds, Levi has her in his room and has his way with her. After spending so much time together, they both start to get to know one another and feelings start to develop. Two weeks fly by and it’s time for Dakota to go home, neither wants to leave each other, but they have no choice, they both have their lives to get too. Heartbroken and crushed Dakota heads back home, knowing she’s in love with Levi. After a nasty accident, they are drawn back together, is the flame still there or did it blow out like all their other relationships?? I cannot stress how much I loved this book. Levi is so much different than most male characters, there’s no cheating, no controlling nature, he’s just Levi and it’s so refreshing. This is a serial, but it can be read as a stand alone!!!

Sometimes you come across an author who just can't seem to write a single thing you don't love. Erin Noelle is one of those authors for me. Everything she has written I have read. Everything I have read, has been five or six star reads for me. Flame is no exception to that club. Welcome to the six star read, Flame. You're beyond amazing and I loved every minute of it!
Flame is a story about massage therapist student Dakota (Kota) Shavell and motocross stunt rider champion James Levi - two independent, incredibly sexy, head strong people who know what and who they want and are unapologetic about the lives they lead. Sexual and otherwise. They're proud of who they are. They're happy with who they are. I love that. I love that the two of them together are still the same people - they don't let the other change who they are. They're sexual, honest, intense and dedicated to their careers. I can't say how much I love them. After a chance meeting, they end up on a two week road trip together and things heat up, burning the flame between them bright and continual. The question is, what happens after the road trip ends?
One of the things I loved most is that they're open people. Life moves along and they're go with the flow people, willing to change and let life lead them. As I read Flame, I was constantly praying it wouldn't end. It was incredibly (and I mean INCREDIBLY) steamy, funny, endearing and the characters are so dang lovable that you just can't help but want to pull them into real life and become friends with them, and it's just so so good. I know, good doesn't seem like a very compelling adjective but it is!! It's good. It's great. It's marvelous. It's all those things wrapped into one glorious package.
Erin Noelle continues to amaze me every single time she writes something new. Her writing is so engaging that I get trapped into her world. Flame is another one for the record books for me.

Erin Noelle is one of those authors who has the uncanny ability to make you laugh aloud and want to throw something in the next paragraph. And Flame is no exception. The prologue gripped me, pulled me in and didn't let me go until the end- and I still wanted more. This book follows the story of Dakota (Kota) and Levi. Kota was featured in Spark, the first book in this series. However, this is a standalone so you don't have to read book one to fall in love with her here.
I loved Kota. He was fiery, bold, sarcastic and unapologetic. She lived with enthusiasm and joy and it rubbed off on those around her, especially Levi. He was drawn to her in a way he couldn't explain but wanted to. Their meeting was complete coincidence but became so much more than either of them ever expected. There was insta-lust and it didn't take long for them to give into their attraction. I loved that about them. Neither one was shy about what they wanted. However, as they spend more and more time together while touring around something changes. I liked seeing a different side to the cocky star emerge as their relationship progressed. But all good things must come to an end, even if Levi and Dakota didn't want them to. They were both too stubborn. I both loved and hated that he cared enough to let her walk away and towards the future dreams she had for herself. But when fate plays her hand, Levi makes some plans of his own. Because his dreams for his own future have changed. And at the top of the things he wants in it is his Sunshine, Dakota. The steps he took to make sure that happened were great. I love the big, grand gesture and he pulled it off in spades.
I can not say enough good things about Flame. Erin Noelle has truly done it again. She seamlessly blended sexiness, sweetness, laughter that one heart-stopping moment to create a book that left me itching for more. Oh and that little teaser at the end...I am so ready to see what will happen next for this gang.
Erin Noelle is fast becoming one of my 'go to' authors. Spark gave me a book hangover and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Flame.
Flame is well named. It's scorching hot and you read it like it's on fire.
Meet James and Dakota.
James "501" Levi: motor cross god, alpha male.
Dakota: free spirited, headstrong and stubborn. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid of taking it. She never backs down from a challenge.
They're each other's game changers. Levi discovers a heart of gold he never knew he had. Dakota finds a guy she wants not as just a competitor, but as a partner.
The Fire On The Mountain Series is a must read. In Spark, Erin had me grabbing the tissues. In Flame, I was fanning myself.
Are you tired of your usual pansy assed heroine? Then READ THIS! You will love DAKOTA!
What I truly admire about the author of this book is her ability to create uniue characters. In the indie book world nowadays wherein NA is still very dominant, it's hard to find a character that doesn't scream I've-read-of-one-like-that-before. So yeah, I appreciate her genius when it comes to that difference.
You will surely like Dakota because she has a strong sense of self. She's very confident. She doesn't have an issue when it comes to saying how she really feels. She's not close minded too. She lets people be and doesn't like drama. If I were to be a character in a book, I'd really like to be just like her.
Levi on the other hand, is our very showy guy. He's not one to dance around his wants and needs. He's also kind of sweet. :) He has a reputation, but when Dakota came into the picture, everything changes for him.
These two make each other's lives more exciting. They also complete parts of each other's lives.
The complication here's isn't so big if you ask me. They only had to admit to themselves that the rules they put before just aren't applicable anymore. That made this a light and fun read to me.
We all have those authors that are our "Go to" authors. The ones where their books and characters stay with us and become our friends and family. Erin Noelle is one of my top 5. In Spark we were introduced to Hudson and Crew and a whole lot of emotions that left me hungover for weeks. Spark is on the opposite side of the spectrum. This book is scorchingly hot and definitely didn't disappoint. James "501" Levi is a motocross god. He's the ultimate alpha male with a heat of gold even he didn't know he had. Of all the Shavell sisters Dakota is the free spirit headstrong and stubborn one. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to take it. She never backs down from a challenge. Until Levi she never questioned her way of thinking. He's the game changer. I didn't want this book to end. I received this advanced copy for an honest review and I swear each book is just as amazing as the last. The Fire On The Mountain Series is a must read. In Spark Erin had me grabbing the box of Kleenex and in this one I was fanning myself non-stop. Prepare yourself for a panty melting good read.
THIS GIRL IS ON FIRRRREEEEEEEEE!!!!!! This series is my fav of Erin Noelle's. I am in LOVE with every single character. I want to be friend with all of them. Levi and Kota were the perfect follow up to Spark. If you missed that one- READ IT. RIGHT.NOW. It's amazing.
While Spark was deep, emotional, moving- Flame is just the opposite. Lighter, hotter, and Kota is the perfect heroin. She's strong, bold, and outspoken.. She lives her life for her and no one else. Levi does motor cross for a living. It's a dangerous lifestyle and it kept me on the edge of my seat.
I loved this book from cover to cover and you'd be missing out by missing it!!! FIVE STARS FROM TCO!!!
It's no secret that I am a huge Erin Noelle fan. And I have to say that each book she writes is better than the last. Erin has created several of my favorite book boyfriends, Ash and Leo to name a few, and now I can add James Levi to that list!
The Fire On The Mountain Series, follows the Shavell sisters. Flame is book two in the series, and focuses on Dakota Shavell and motocross champion James Levi and their whirlwind romance. The flame they ignite upon meeting is bound to burn someone, because the chemistry between these to is nothing short of combustible.
Erin Noelle is one of those authors that once her book is out...it is definitely "Grabby Hands Worthy" I can read and reread every book that she comes out with over and over again. Flame is no different. I love her work, this is a laugh out loud, emotional roller coaster.. how can you not love a guy that is a Sex God in every way possible and a down to earth chick that every female wants to be. Erin can make you feel like you ARE her characters or right there with them watching their story unfold and I loved every second of reading Flame. James Levi is so worth it..
HOLY FREAKING HOTNESS, Erin!!! I loved Spark, book 1 in the Fire on the Mountain Series so I hoped Flame would be just as good.
It wasn't.
It was SO MUCH BETTER. Good gracious. I think I got pregnant in a couple scenes. I loved getting to know Levi and Dakota. Flashbacks don't always work for me, but it really helped to build the tension in Flame and the action kept the book moving at a great pace. I couldn't put this one down, so be warned -- order takeout and have your husband give the kids a bath!
I was given an Arc for honest review What is there not to love about a Hot Alpha Motorcross guy James Levi and a witty, smart mouth fireball Dakota Shavell. This book had me falling in love, laughing, and rooting for this couple.Ever book by Erin Noelle has been amazing.Cant wait for the next one.

This is a bold statement, considering I’ve read 13 Erin books, but this is the BEST book, the stand out to me- I absolutely loved it. I connected with the characters. I enjoyed the plot- the flow. I loved how both MC’s were hell bent on NOT having a relationship. Every idiosyncrasy that Erin has- is still there, her writing, her seamless story telling ability, her character background, her eventual set up for the next book- and DUH- ridiculously hot AF main characters.
"This is it. Why I've busted my ass every day for the last decade. The final tour stop of the year. Winner takes all. Me or him. Do or die."
James effing Levi- well, that should be his name anyway, is probably my favorite male character Erin has written- bar none. Held even higher on a pedestal than my Ash baby. Levi- is a top motocross racer, and who doesn’t love a good old fashioned thrill seeker as a hero. I’m *that* girl. I like the bikers, the rebels- and Levi is definitely that. He is extremely good looking, cause DUH- who wants a so-so looking motocross man?? Not this chica. And not to mention UBER cocky, which is typically a turn off; unless it is written well and, HELLO?!?! This is Erin we are talking about! Levi has it ALL- the bikes, the babes, and the potential to win it all. His best friends are Gunnar and Emmy Sue- whom we will talk about later, because I see novella here! Wink, wink Erin! Then on a random night in a small town in Colorado- he meets HER. Dakota Shavell- and the rest is history.
“The control he has over my body, over my thoughts, is alarming. The constant desire to either slap or kiss the permanent smirk off his ruggedly handsome face consumes me when I’m around him. The push-and-pull between us comes way too easy, and to be quite honest, it unnerves me.”
Well not really history- but that’s the saying right? Dakota- MFing Dakota- GOD I loved everything about her. And as much as Levi gave me a lady boner- it was almost the same for her and I’m not even into the ladies. But I what I REALLY love is a strong female lead- and it really don’t get any stronger than Dakota dear. She comes from the Shavell family- which if you read Spark you would know- is a totally unconventional life- but one that’s so hippie- you appreciate the hell out of it. How awesome would it be if everyone was like the Shavell’s? She is totally a live in the moment sort of person, but is still grounded if that makes sense- because she knows what she wants to eventually do once she is out of school. She’s also a no strings attached type of girl, and when she runs into an old friend named Emmy Sue, and meets Levi- the rest is history.
“I’ve missed him. His touch. His voice. His smell. The feel of his body against mine. Everything about him fills the gaping hole of emptiness I’ve been living with. Him. Just him.”
Levi and Dakota have some off the charts sexual chemistry, from the get go, and it’s totally undeniable- and WOW hot as hell. I really loved their interactions; snarky should be both of their middle names! When Levi finds out that Dakota is a massage therapist, he jumps at the chance to take her along for his two week tour and she agrees. And they also agree to have lots of steamy, steamy sex with no strings attached. Come on romance readers- you know how well that works out!! I loved every single piece of this book. It wasn’t that it was better than Spark, because I loved Spark in its own separate way. It was just a freaking great story. Erin never, ever disappoints me, and she hasn’t ever. Everything she writes is amazing. Her word vomit must come out gold in color- because she is always winning. She always ends up making me laugh, making me cry, or making me think. Fit this book onto your TBR pronto, trust me. Once you read it- it will make your top list of 2015- I know it has made it onto mine!!
Overall Opinion: This was a cute, sexy, and easy read. I enjoyed it, but it probably won't go down as one of my favorites. I liked the characters and the premise, and I feel like the author was successful in making both likable...but something was missing. Their sexual chemistry and banter was good, so I'm not sure how to pinpoint where it went wrong for me. I feel like it wasn't all that memorable and definately not as deep and touching as the first in the series, Spark...maybe that was it.
Storyline: This is Dakota and Levi's story. They meet when James is in her hometown for his cousin's wedding, and his cousin is marrying a girl that Dakota was good friends with growing up. The attraction is strong and instant. After the maid of honor is too sick to go down the aisle, the bride asks Dakota to step in -- and you guessed it! Levi is the best man. He happens to be sick too (because he hooked up with the MoH) and Dakota takes care of him at the end of the night. This is when Levi proposes that Dakota joins him (with his cousin and new wife) on his motocross tour for 2 weeks of unattached sex and fun. They heat up the sheets a lot and end up feeling more for each other than either of them had expected. This is mainly because they both are not relationship type people and tend look for casual hook-ups. After the two weeks is over, Dakota reluctantly goes back home so she can finish her last semester in school...and at the end they find their HFN.
POV: This was alternating between Dakota and Levi's POV
Overall Pace of Story: Good. It was an quick read...so it flowed nicely.
H rating: 3 stars. Levi/James/Hulk. He was just ok for me...
h rating: 3 stars. Dakota/Kota/Sunshine. She was just ok too...
Angst level: Low. Some drama, but really minimal...no tissues necessary here.
Heat level: Moderate. A good bit of steamy times, but not too much to where it took away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes, and some was not as descriptive which was nice because it would have been too much at that point.
Sex scene with OW or OM:
Cheating:
Possible Triggers:
Closure: The closure sucked for me on this. I would call it a HEA and even though we get some closure about what happened at the world championship for Levi, but I wouldn't say we get that much closure for the couple. It seemed to be more about setting up the next book with Rory and Nali IMO.
The man: Levi: A top ranked Freestyle Motocross star. He is good looking and I mean really good looking, an adrenaline junkie, has more money than he knows what to do with and a bit cocky. A panty dropper for sure. He has everything he could have ever wanted, a successful career and his best friends Gunner and Emmy Sue and any woman he chooses to warm up his sheets for a couple of hours. You know how unpredictable life is, likes to throw things at us, challenge us, test our will. Well life decided to challenge Levi when it puts her in his path. The woman: Dakota comes from a very loving, supportive and unconventional family. She is making her life her own and doing what makes her happy and that is finishing school so one day she could own her own Spa. She is an in the moment kind of girl and can light up a room with just her presence. She is smart, laid back and witty. She doesn’t do relationships at all, they are too much trouble and they usually end in heartache. Little does she know that catching up with an old friend would lead to a life altering journey with none other than the motocross star, Levi. The situation: Levi gets what he wants and he wants Dakota. Dakota wants him. He is on a motocross tour and she is on break before school starts up again. The solution: When he finds out that she is a massage therapist, he jumps at the opportunity to take her along for their two week tour and she agrees. They also agree to an arrangement. A feeling free, no string attached friends with benefits. The Dilemma: Well what in the heck do you think happens when their attraction for each other is off the charts, the sex is AMAZING and when they hang out with each other it feels so easy and natural? Yup, those darn feelings and as wonderful as it is, it also scares them both to death! The Nitty Gritty: I loved where Erin took this story. This is Dakota’s story and just like her sisters, she is unique and the vibe of this story is so fitting to her personality and the type of kick ass chick she is. It was completely different than Spark, which I LOVED! Don’t get me wrong, this was still emotional but not in that sad sad way, it was more the angsty with some heart ache. The perfect amount of emotions of two people trying to protect their hearts. The chemistry that Levi and Hudson share is BURNING! Not only that, the way they are able to communicate with each other with just a look is the most AMAZING FOREPLAY EVER!!! They bring out these feelings in each other that they never knew existed, and when they finally opened their eyes, let me tell you, it is EPIC! Erin Noelle’s stories and writing just get better and better. I am in awe of her ability to create such fantastic characters as well as stories that run deep. Like one of my favorite bands We The Kings sang…. “ I always get that feeling” when I read her stories!
*I was gifted a copy of the book for an honest review *
So the Shavell family is back with a scorcher. I fell in love with this family with Spark and I was not disappointed with Dakota’s story.
We start off with Levi literally bumping into Dakota, who is on her summer vacation, and sparks ignite instantly. Levi is a top ranked freestyle motocross rider. The dude gets a high being up in the air doing back & front flips and jumps. He’s at the top of his game, set to be the next world champion, he’s got women throwing themselves at him and he’s got his best friend with him all the time. What more could a guy want? Nothing it would seem, life was PERFECT, until BAM! He slams into Dakota.
We don’t know what we are missing until it crashes into us. Levi and Dakota didn’t know what fate had in store for them. Neither wanted a relationship yet they could not ignore the flame. She finds out soon after meeting Levi that he’s in town for a wedding and the bride is none other than her childhood friend. Can you say Fate? They are pulled together time and again.
What ensues is a hi octane affair that starts off as nothing but a mutual sating of desires. When Levi invites her to spend two weeks with him on his tour, no one is more surprised than him. But he knows deep down that there’s something about Dakota that calls to him. They embark on an affair where they each learn new things about themselves. They each kept surprising one and another. I loved their connection, it was deep and made it possible for them to have inner conversations around their friends. That put a big smile on my face.
So what happens when the big adventure starts? Bus ride from one competition to another, lots of time spend exploring each other, pushing each other buttons. Driving each other mad. Lots and lots of sex that turned the pages hotter and hotter until the flames engulfed them. Time speeds up when you’re having fun they say, well Dakota and Levi were running out of time.
Will Dakota give this bad boy a chance at a happy ever after? Will Levi give up the high life with loads of women for the love of just one? Will their fire burn brightly? Will they hold it in the palm of their hands to secure a future together? Will they fight to keep it alive? Or will they let if fizzle out and walk away when their two weeks are up?
Erin has done it again, this author blows me away with every book she writes. The way she gets into your soul with her words and makes you feel every feeling is so captivating.
Flame is the second book in the Fire on the Mountain Series and can be read as a standalone book but I felt that as I had read Spark the first book, I had a better understanding of the place and characters while reading Flame.
We have Levi, well what can I say about him, he is one of those guys who knows what he wanted to do with his life from day 1, yes he can be cocky but he is also exceptionally good at what he does, which is Motor cross. He has managed to become a champion in that field
Dakota is such a lovely girl, she is one of those girls who is not fazed easily by things, laid back with a take it or leave it attitude.
Dakota and Levi are both happy with their lives just now and relationships for both of them is not on the cards, however, you should never say never and these two find while at a Friend’s wedding that there is something between them that cannot be denied. When Levi becomes ill at the wedding it is Dakota to the rescue, she takes him back to his room and looks after him which was so special, the connection here between them I just loved. It is here that Levi asks her to go with him on his 2 week tour, of course Dakota say’s yes, she is that kind of girl, throws caution to the wind and just goes for it.
As you can imagine, when the 2 week tour comes to an end it is hard for both of them, the pull they have with each other is so tangible and the devastation that both Levi and Dakota feel when Dakota goes home broke my heart, these two should be together it was so obvious.
After Levi suffers a nasty accident he goes back to Fire Mountain, will the spark still be there with Dakota or will it have fizzled out, the only way to find out what happens next with these two is to read the book.
I cannot stress how amazing this book was. Erin has written it so well that you just keep turning the pages and you never want to stop.
Flame is book #2 in the fire on the mountain series; I love this author and Spark the first book in this series. So I jumped at the chance to receive an ARC of Flame to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
It’s not often that you find a book that has you grinning from ear to ear the whole way through. Well that’s what Flame did for me!!!
I smiled because it’s silly but intensely sexy. I smiled because I loved these two characters and because the banter they shared had me laughing out loud.
I loved every word of this book, and from me that’s seriously high praise!!!
Dakota is a great female lead, I liked her from the start she’s so full of life and happy (another rare quality). She’s witty and sarcastic and I might just possibly have a bit of a girl crush on her!!!
Levi….. Well bloody hell…. he’s so hot I’m amazed he doesn’t spontaneously combust. And hell when he went into alpha mode I’m surprised I didn’t spontaneously combust!!!!
This book is cheeky and saucy and the sex is plentiful and totally worked lol!!!
This book is polar’s apart from the first book and that’s why it worked so well, it isn’t a rehash it’s equally as good if not better but also completely different.
I LOVED this book; it gave me a serious case of the warm and fuzzed with a hot under the collar romance.
This is the book that I will recommend to my friends and know that they will enjoy it as much as I did.
Not as much drama in Flame as there was in Spark. But I think that's because of Dakota. She's a cool girl. A laid back, go with the flow kind of girl. She's on a break from college, ready to hook up with her regular sex buddy, Rory. She's a young girl looking for a good time, not ready to settle down yet.
But she gets knocked on her ass when she meets hunky James Levi, Motocross champion, who's in Breckinridge for his cousin/best friend's wedding. Dakota is old friends with the bride so she and Levi get to know each other over the weekend.
Levi isn't ready for it to end so he invites Dakota to join them on the bus for two weeks on their way to New Orleans. Dakota, being the spontaneous girl she is, agrees.
They have a wild couple of weeks together where they become closer but what I loved most is that Dakota stuck to her guns. She wasn't willing to sacrifice her plans and dreams to follow Levi across the world. She was a great heroine.
I wish there were more scenes with the Shevell family. I fell in love with them in Spark but don't worry Grams is still entertaining. Also, it felt like Gunner an Emilia already had this back story that I missed out on. Did I? If not, I hope Noelle writes a novella about them, especially featuring the . *waggles eyebrows*
I loved the epilogue. I'm looking forward to Denali's story. That one is going to be tough. I liked Spark better but Flame was still an enjoyable read. Well done!
