This one was a little difficult for me because I really wanted to love it. The premise genuinely caught my attention, and I could see so much potential in where the story was going. Unfortunately, the writing style just didn’t click with me.

I struggled to stay immersed as I read. The dialogue and descriptions didn’t quite work for me, and I found myself losing interest even though I could still see the heart of the story underneath it all.

Reading is such a personal experience, and what doesn’t work for one reader might become someone else’s new favourite book. Sadly, this one just wasn’t the right fit for me.

That said, I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to read and review it as an ARC. I’ll always have so much respect for indie authors who pour their hearts into their stories, and I’ll continue supporting them however I can. I truly hope this book finds the readers it was written for. 🖤

I went into this one and was immediately sucked in! The story starts off strong and the dark world was easy to understand without feeling overwhelming. The pacing was really well done it moved quickly and kept me wanting to turn the page to find out what would happen next.
Cali our FMC is absolutely FERAL and honestly who doesn’t love a little feminine rage?! 🔥 If you’re looking for a heroine who isn’t afraid to embrace that side of herself Cali definitely delivers.
And then there’s Draven… our shadow daddy 🫠🖤 I loved how supportive he was of Cali and how he never gave up on her. Watching their relationship unfold was one of my favorite parts and there were definitely moments where he had me swooning!
The spice was also 🔥 and I thought it was written really well. It added just the right amount of heat while still fitting perfectly into the darker atmosphere of the story.
One thing I really enjoyed was how the Characters spoke directly to the reader. It gave the story a unique element that I wasn’t expecting and really stood out to me.
There were definitely some twists that caught me off guard and once I hit around 80% things got INTENSE. I genuinely couldn’t put it down!
And THAT ENDING?! Excuse me?! You cannot just end it like THAT?! 😭 I absolutely need to know what happens next so book two is definitely going on my TBR immediately!

I had an opportunity of receiving this book as an ARC and I absolutely LOVED IT!! The main character in the book reminds me a lot of Bryce from House of Earth and blood which I immediately loved cause i enjoyed those books as well! This book had me hooked from the first chapter and it did have trigger warnings and some very explicit scenes but if you are already prone to trigger warnings and scenes like that then it won’t bother you as much haha. I really hope this is not a stand alone because how it ended left me wanting more and I am going to be devastated if it is not turned into a series or at least not being book 2! 4.5/5 stars definitely add to your TBR!

I absolutely loved A Court of Feral Kin! The FMC is fantastic—she’s got so much spunk and personality, and she is genuinely just a whole lot of fun to follow. I found myself really enjoying her voice and the way she approaches the world around her.

One of my favorite things about this book was the playful awareness of the romantasy genre itself. The moments where the characters recognize their roles in relation to familiar tropes—and the occasional breaking of the fourth wall—were so much fun. It gave the story a self-aware quality without taking away from the actual plot or characters.

The pacing was great, and I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. And then… THAT ending. 😩 Consider this your warning: beware the cliffhanger! I need the next book immediately. Seriously, when is it coming?!

Overall, this was such a fun, entertaining read, and I’m very glad I had the opportunity to read it as an ARC. If you enjoy romantasy with a little self-awareness, a fun and feisty FMC, and plenty to keep you turning the pages, definitely give this one a try!

Received this book as an advanced reader copy for my honest opinion.

A Court of Feral Kin started out pretty slow for me. I wasn’t sure about it and keep reading. I am so glad that I did! It began drawing me in. Every move that Cali and Draven made had me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the fact that she kind of despised him to begin with even though they had a history and he was linked already to her sister and how that turned around. Vex was just as evil as her name. The character plots kept me wanting more and not wanting to put it down at night.

This book hooked me from page one. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this FMC on her journey to learn more about her own powers. I like the world building and the characters are so fun. Normally I’m not a fan of multiple POVs but this was done seamlessly. Overall a good fun read.

A Court of Feral Kin was a VERY refreshing read, and one of the few truly DARK fantasy books I’ve read! I really loved A.S. Koutso’s writing style, there were some fourth wall breaks that surprised me, and some HILARIOUS pop culture references that had me GAGGED, in addition to the juicy plot of course.

First I HAVE to thank A.S Koutso for giving me the opportunity to read her amazing story.

When I say, HOLY SHIT.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ & 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

You've never read anything like this before. As soon as I saw a map, and the first chapter included the song Bodies by Drowning Pool, I was sucked in, and I didn't want to leave.

The story starts off strong with pure chaos and some psychotic spice. Our FMC is a princess running from trauma and her responsibilities. When she ends up back home in the Demon Realm, daddy dearest sets her up with our shadow daddy, Draven, as her guard and wants her help checking on his kingdom and finding her lost sister.

This story was fun, lots of twists and betrayal you won't see coming, some spice that was JAW dropping 😅, DARK themes, and fourth wall breaks that left me wanting more. Our girl Cali is powerful but has much to learn as she navigates a power she's refused to touch till now.

This book does end with a cliffhanger and so many questions left unanswered so I am eagerly awaiting an announcement for book 2. I can't wait to see where this story goes and to watch Cali turn into the Feral baddie I know she is.

I had such a fun time getting lost in the wild and enchanting world of A Court of Feral Kin. This book had that magical feeling of stepping into a place where secrets hide around every corner, danger is never too far away, and the characters are just as captivating as the world around them.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this story — it’s beautifully mysterious, a little dark, and wonderfully untamed. The characters brought so much personality to the pages, and I found myself wanting to know more about their journeys, their choices, and all the little secrets waiting to be uncovered. 🦋

There’s something so addictive about a fantasy that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into another realm, and this one definitely gave me that feeling. While it took me a little bit to settle into the story, once I found my rhythm I was happily along for the ride!

This book starts out with pure spice and chaos and runs with it from there. Cali is the heir to Luther ,King of the Feral Kin Court, she has been running since her mother and sister were killed. Not to escape a killer but to escape herself. She's been hiding in the human realm until she loses another of her lives and ends up back home where she is promptly stripped of her demon magic until she comes to the agreement of being the heir. Draven is her bodyguard ( or Shadow Daddy as Vicious likes to say) and was linked ( magically joined) to her sister before her death. Cali has been fighting her feelings for him for eons.. Now she has no choice but to face all her issues head on as her father decides she needs to visit the realm her sister was to rule and check on the interim ruler Vex.
This book gives you spice , it gives you drama, it gives you magnificent fights, it gives you magic and transformations and shadows.
It gives you characters talking to you the reader with funny little quips that seriously are everything!! I need to know what happens there are so many ways this could go!!!

This was dark and full of intense moments. There is a whole world here that seems chaotic but the further in you go the more sense it makes. The FMC was unhinged and running from what was expected of her. The MMC is tasked with protecting her and she doesn't make it easy. There is a ton of mystery and trauma in this story. Maybe i missed it but i was still confused on why he was supposed to link with her sister if he loved the FMC. The MMC really suffered in silence and by the end the knowledge you get makes it so much worse. Read those trigger warnings and know this ends with a very brutal cliffhanger. If you enjoy fantasy, a shadow daddy MMC and a stabby FMC it's worth a try.

This was such a fun read!! A new spin on dark, paranormal, fantasy romance Cali is one of the most feral and unhinged FMCs I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time. Draven the shadow daddy MMC not only has perfected stalking per daddy dearest's orders, but is quite literal with the touch her and die.

The story is told from multiple POVS and settings with a plot that doesn't know what straight means all taking place in multiple realms.

If you love a book that will keep you on your toes, MCs you root for, in a world where anything can happen then you need this book.

I’m obsessed! Cali is my new hero, ...as much as a human-eating demon can be considered a hero, that is.
"So I bit his tongue off and shoved it down his throat so he couldn't scream while I went down on him. I know men love when my lips touch their b@lls, and I didn't need him being all loud and annoying. I prefer to enjoy my meal in silence."

This is such a fun dark fantasy book! It’s fast paced, full of adventure, violence, spice, humor and so much more. I love the fourth wall breaks, and multi POV and I really enjoyed the authors writing style. Part two cannot get here soon enough!

The prologue was ...wow!!! Then, after chapter 1, I was nervous the author was just writing anything dark & unhinged for the shock value of it - and worried what that meant for the rest of the story.

I'm glad I kept going!!
Ending up loving this one!

Cali is just pure chaos, loved her! And Draven is our morally grey shadow daddy (yum), and this story is definitely dark (so check your triggers kids)
I got very caught up and invested. Magic, betrayal, battles, and can we talk about that ending!!!!
Horror? Dark fantasy... looking forward for me!!

OMG! Cali gives off Harley Quinn vibes, I mean if Harley was a psycho demon who feasts on human blood. This book has it all! Spice, fights,drama,a dramatic Cliffhanger at the end. I'm really wanting to see where book 2 takes the story because it could go in way too many directions. Hoping it goes in the direction I'm thinking it does but who knows, this book was not predictable. But that is what made it so gripping.

Soooo I decided to take a break from my current read and downloaded this beauty of a book. I am not one to give away spoilers but here's a little teaser.. there is absolutely no need to wait for some spice, the spice is happening within the first chapter! Now I would say the writing is a little difficult to understand and will be difficult for some readers. However once the plot hits and everything just comes together. Looking forward to the next book. Thank you for the ARC!

Thank you A.S. Koutso for this early read. This is the first book in the Feral Kin Series. I did not know what to expect. But this book got me by surprise. I loved Vicious. She has definitely earned her name. Cali and Draven have a messed up relationship with an incredible pool towards eachother. The end of the story ends with a cliffhanger and left me with more questions than answers. I wil be waiting for book 2

It's certainly an interesting premise, I'll give it that. Honestly, the story is good. It's the prose that lost me. There's a difference between fast-paced and break-neck speed. It wasn't meant for me, most likely but maybe it might suit someone else's fancy.
There were other things I would mention but I think this is long enough.

Calico & Vicious workkkk. She is absolutely unhinged and we just support her because why not.
The reading of it feels like the characters are just telling you what happens with the fourth wall breaks and EVERYTHING.
By the end I was gripped and then it ended and I NEEDED more.
It's got rage, unhinged characters, no morals, spice, secrets and betrayals. What more is needed.

Knew I'd enjoyed it when it stars off with a sex demon in a mental institution with bodies by downing pool is playing while she play if I catch you I kill you

Well back in the demon realm turns out she lucifer daughter and need to learn to wear a crown after being the only one left to take over

she sent on adventure with mr handsome to battle a spider with a obsessive personality

For a plus side cal lose a life from a 💧🍆 a good time and a dislocated jaw

I really enjoyed reading this book, seeing the development of the characters was definitely fantastic, I must say Vicious hooked me from the start, I honestly find her cheeky, joyful, crazy and funny while Cali is the opposite most of the time, but they work well together and it made the story line that much more enjoyable for me, I do feel sad for the losses poor Cali has had to go through.

I have enjoyed the way Draven and Cali’s relationship progressed and how he tried to give as much support to her as possible even when she was being a pain in his bottom he has never given up and that honestly had me swooning over him.

The spice was definitely written in well, and you may need a fan to cool yourself off at times but hey that’s all part of the package with this book.

I can’t wait to see where book 2 takes us and see more growth from these characters and maybe a rekindle of their relationship too?

In the initial pages, I was questioning if I would enjoy this book by by the time chapter 1 was done, I was hooked. The snarkiness of Calico and her relationship with Vicious really kept it lively while the tension between Cali and Draven was primal and intense. The push and pull between them kept me on the edge of my seat. The world building was a journey in itself and we fell into the Demon Realm and Creature Realm learning all the places that give them existence. Add in the innocence of Jax, the pain and loss that Cali has endured has created character that you just want to slap and hug at the same time. Truly a great read and I can't wait for the 2nd one to come out.
