Maybe it wasn't the smartest choice for me to start the series with the 6th book, but it is whatit is.
Despite the fact that this is a 6th book, it is easely readable as standalone.
But, there is one fact you should be warned about if you decide to read just this book: you won't get attached to characters and, because of that, you won't be so pleased with the story.
At least, that is what happened in my case.
The story follows Zach who is a complete control freak that had a terrible accident while mountain climbing and now he is a mess.
He has to use crutches to support himself and, like a little kid in a fifth grade, he is afraid other people will making fun of him because of that (actually, he is afraid other will see him as weak but I liked my perspective better).
As a control freak who loses control, he starts to behave as a grumpy spoiled brat who drawns in self-pity.
It was so hard to like him. As someone who knows how does it feel to have a terrible accident that leaves you unable to move for two whole months, make you learn how to walk again and go to phisical therapy every single day for months, I just couldn't feel sorry for Zach.
In my opinion, he didn't make any affort to became stronger and walk again, he was just angry at the whole world.
Gabriella took female book characters on a whole new level. She purrs and smells like Heaven (and no, this isn't a fantasy. It's a contemporary romance).
She is also oh so hot and an ideal girl for Zach since she doesn't mind being treated horrible. She loves her family who is making fun of her all the time and looking at her like she is some kind of marriage wracker.
And she loves Zach who is being rude to her constantly.
The writing style is simple and is easy to read.
The novel is written in third pespective and although it does have some cute scenes, it has more boring ones.
Reading this book felt like watching a movie, falling asleep and then waking up after hearing main charaters screaming at each other, wondering what actually happened.
It had a slow pace and then, all of the sudden, characters were just screaming at each other. It felt like drama came out of nowhere and I knew I must have lost my concentration while reading, but I just wasn't motivated enough to go back and reread what led to that.
Even though my review may sound harsh, I don't think this is a bad book.
I know some people that would love it and I would recommend it to romance lovers that do not overly analize what they read.

2 'I'm bored and I don't believe in this shit' stars
I always like grumpy man, especially an injured and vulnerable one. Zach was seriously pissed at everyone who try to come and comfort or help him in anyway. He was verbally abusive towards his assistant, Gabriella. I didn't read the previous books, but from what I heard he was an ass to her even before he was injured from a climbing accident.
Anyway, what really bugged me is the way this story executed with too many filler and everyone is talking in circle. For almost half the book, it all revolves around Zach being an ass, his family trying to meddle with his rehab and Gabriella trying to get him to work. Rinse and repeat. Is getting old after awhile.
I knew the reason Zach was acting like an ass to Gab is because he secretly had a crush on her. Is super obvious in romance novel. But the reason why he turn from a friendly boss to an overbearing boss make me roll my eyes. He is supposed to be a big shot boss, but why is he acting like a 12 yo who got rejected by his crush? And he was holding this anger for 2 freaking years?
I actually don't mind reading about asshole, in fact sometimes I love them. At least give me a better reason or no reason at all. Please don't throw me such stupid reason.
The part that really make me wanna give up is, just after a chat with Ethan, telling Zach that he had been acting like a fool about Gab, Zach got cured and decided to make amend. If it was that easy, why did Ethan waited so long to set him straight.

I really just can't get enough of these Montgomery Brother stories so I'm a bit sad to see the series end. William is a match-making genius and clearly the most important character in each book. (Edited: This wasn’t the end...there’s more to come!)
Zach was frustrating as hell. For being a brilliant business man he was pretty dumb when it came to the obvious. The way he treated Gabriella for so long after the incident with her family was extreme for the situation and uncalled for. I just wanted to shake the sense into him. Later after everything they've been through, one minor setback with his recovery and he says the most hurtful, awful things to her? It was awful and I'm rather upset that the apology for his behavior was so short and, even worse, so easily accepted by Gabriella.
Overall the story was good and the love between Gabriella and Zach and the ease at which they accepted it is what made this story worth reading. I'm happy to see each Montgomery brother, and sister, happy and will probably revisit this series in the future.

I didn't love this one nearly as much as the previous novels but it's still quite good. Another sweet and lovely romance. This couple took me time to warm up to but I ultimately really enjoyed their growth as a couple.

I was so happy to finally get Zach and Gabriella's story and Ms Chase made the wait worth while. We've had bits and pieces of them throughout the last two books in the series and in this story we finally understand what is behind all the snark between these two. There has always been such passion between them but neither seems brave enough to take a chance. That's where matchmaking Will Montgomery comes in!!
While recuperating from the injuries he sustained during a climbing trip, Zach Montgomery has successfully pushed away everyone in his life. At least that was what he thought. The Montgomery's are a tough bunch though and they aren't quite ready to give up on him yet. What they are willing to do is give him an ultimatum. Get over yourself, get serious with your rehab, or risk losing the one thing he wants - his position as the head of the Montgomery West Coast division. Along with that comes Gabriella. How can he possibly work closely with her in his home and not let his true feelings be known?
This is the 6th book in the series and while it can easily be read standalone, I recommend you read the other books in the series to get a true sense of the Montgomery family. I highly recommend it.

I'll Be There was an OK read.
I was really looking forward to reading Zach and Gabriella's story, my attention was peaked from the previous book Meant for You it was obvious they had some serious sexual tension going on and I was excited to read how these two hotheads would get together.
While the storyline was good and it held my interest I found myself not liking Zach very much. He was such an ass, some of the things he says to Gabriella were very hurtful and imo not easily forgiven or forgotten.
I totally got how frustrated Zach was with his recovery but man was it frustrating watching this once confidant man whine and moan, he really knew how to throw one hell of a pity party =/
I did like Gabriella, she was strong and had a forgiving heart. I also loved her relationship with Summer, Zach's sister. It was fun having Summer and Ethan play a role in this book, they were good characters that helped make this book so much more entertaining.

I was ecstatic when I found out that Samantha Chase was releasing a new Montgomery Brothers novel. This family is such a joy that it is no hardship to visit time and again. I'll Be There is Zach's story. Zach has been successful at whatever he touches. His personality, focus, looks and even his family name has opened doors but his ambition is the key to all of his triumphs. When larger than life Zach is forced down to earth after an accident he is anything but happy. Gabriella is a formidable match for Zach. She has worked hard to accomplish her achievements and has managed to do so despite the odds. Gabriella is no pushover. She speaks her mind. With I'll Be There Samantha Chase wrote a story full of triumph but she also introduced two characters afraid of letting anyone too close for fear of appearing weak. The lesson I took away from I'll Be There is that showing emotion is not weak. Emotions are a part of the maturity process that leads to a well rounded happy life. But when Zach is involved with a mountain climbing accident, he needs more help than he'd care to admit. Gabrielle is sent to try and get him back on track and he is less than pleased. But will them working closely help them resolve their past issues? Can they move on to become what they once were and more?
I had a hard time with this book. A couple times I considered stopping but I pushed through anyway. It was enjoyable, I just don't think it was for me. I loved Zach's character. All of his brooding was wonderful. I just had a hard time with Gabriella. Nothing against the writing in anyway, she just wasn't for me. Aside from that, I enjoyed the storyline and was pleased with the ending. I would still recommend to others.

While Samantha Chase has good writing skills, I thought the logic behind this story was a little flawed. With a simple effort to communicate instead of drawing important conclusions about someone he worked with, Zach could have avoided a lot of conflict and achieved a happy ending. Instead, he seemed to have anger management problems and didn't seem a good risk in the matrimonial pool to me. We're talking about accepting a rumor about a person he worked closely with for six years without giving her a chance to explain!!! Oh, well, I did read the whole book because I like Samantha Chase's novels!

Okay, flawed dark moment
This was an okay read, nothing spectacular. I liked the deep past between the romantic leads, mutual admiration spanning years. Good peripheral and family relationships. And I liked how it the author wrote about the male lead Zach overcoming a near-fatal fall from a mountain..his physical therapist was the most sensible one in the bunch! On the downside, the romance was too schizophrenic, some of the actions made no sense at all, and the dark moment was very very weak.

Another Hit
I always enjoy reading Samantha chase books, she always hooks you from the first page till the last. This book was so good. It has it's ups and downs, it make you wonder what will happen next. This is a must read. Get it today.

I have been waiting for this Montgomery brother to fall in love for quite some time and while I'm glad to finally get his story, I'm sad to see this series coming to an end.
A powerful and successful businessman, Zach Montgomery has always prided himself in being the best, being in control of his life and making his own rules. Zach is a go-getter and an overachiever, so his inability to rally quickly from his climbing accident and having to depend on others for help is a big blow to him and he's pretty much given up on himself. His family has just about had enough of his bad moods and general surliness and in a two-for-one deal conspires to manipulate him into fighting to get better and get him together with the woman he's been interested in for the last five years.
Gabriella Martine has been attracted to her boss for as long as she's worked for him but knows to keep things between them professional. Her resolve is about to be tested as she works closely with him while he recovers from his accident, but she'll do anything to keep him from losing his position as president of the company.
Zach was such a meanie (I know, grade school word, but that's the only one that kept flying through my mind) and I can understand how for such a confident person, having his body fail him could be the worst thing ever but he was just terrible. Gabrielle on the other hand, was a saint in my opinion, for taking the constant lashing out and coming back for more, but as their story unfolds it's clear that there is a lot more going on. Zach hates to be vulnerable at all but that Gabrielle has a front row seat makes it even worse and their unresolved personal issues are like an eight-hundred pound elephant in the middle of the room. The time alone was just what they needed for their relationship to flourish and I like that Zach was all in once he realized how he felt about Gabrielle, even though he was quick to bail when she needed him the most.
I know I wouldn't have stuck around for so long if I were in Gabrielle's shoes and that was my only gripe about this book. That and the fact that she forgave him so easily. I would have milked it for what it was worth and made him grovel really hard (yeah, I'm mean like that!). However, I loved this story and I think that it's fitting that Zach's road to happiness would be such a tumultuous one because of his personality. He had to hit rock bottom to get an appreciation for the prize he had in Gabrielle and his wonderful family.
I'LL BE THERE is all about resilience, healing, family and love and is guaranteed to elicit a lot of emotions from readers, from the feel-good pleasure and happiness to the less than pleasant unease and anger, as Zach and Gabrielle fight for their happy ending.

My first Samantha Chase read! Book 6. Shouldn't have taken it. #AccidentalOneClick #Oops #SoFreakingGlad #ItWasFantastic
Chase delivered an absolutely lovely read that left me antsy to get back to the rest of the series and see how it all began.
The quick of it is that Zach had a serious climbing accident and since then he's turned into an angry bear of a man who's wallowing in his own misery and pretty much become a recluse. And the people around him have had enough. They're fucking over his pity party and throwing down an ultimatum. Get his act together--and accept help from his assistant--or the family company he runs...no longer going to be his to run. It's...not the most pleasant of moments to be around him, for sure, but his long time assistant is ready to go to bat for him and help him get back to who he used to be. And he just best get his ass in line. *nods*
Okay so these two. Zach and Gabriella. Their happily ever after was hard won. Whew, boy! Zach is one grumbly pain in the ass hero who lashes out and is pretty much hitting rock bottom when things kick off. And Gabriella? Has the patience of a freaking saint dealing with him. Lord love her. And so did I. She was one tough chickie and I loved seeing her stand up for herself (in a number of ways) and finally seeing Zach overcome everything that was holding him back (namely himself). I liked that these two had some history and had worked together for years. They really had an amazing dynamic--even when things, or rather, he, was being a grumbler.
The heat was actually pretty light. The chemistry between these two was there and there were some sex scenes but for the most part they were lightly detailed or fade to black. But I still loved it and their rocky road to romance. When things were good...man they were good. But holy cow when things were bad? Watch out. Whew! Homeboy could fuck up something fierce.
It was interesting seeing these two deal with each other every day. With working alone at his home until he was strong enough to leave the house, with long standing attraction and misunderstandings (of a sort) from years earlier, frustrations as he went through PT and them both dealing with their families. Including his matchmaking uncle who just knew the two were perfect for each other. It was pretty entertaining.
Their romance was far from perfect but I think, in the end, it made it sweeter when they finally came around and Zach got himself together. Chase dazzled with a dynamic pair that were each others match in every way. It was wonderful and frustrating and completely satisfying. I'm so hooked!

I’ll Be There is an intense story with at times, almost brutal dialogue from our so called hero. Hmmm… can you tell Zach isn’t exactly my favorite person in this continuation of The Montgomery Brothers series?
In many ways Zach is an adrenaline junkie. His need for adventure and to out do his most recent accomplishment is second only to his brutish, arrogant, pure jerk interactions with Gabriella. This time his climbing adventure didn’t go as planned and Zach is seriously injured, in fact he’s lucky to be alive. But his limited mobility, the long recovery time ahead of him has turned him from just your normal grumbly grouchy bear to one with an abscessed tooth – yeah, not pretty is it?
Gabriella is Zach’s personal assistant and she’s been in love with him for years now. But she won’t do anything about that, she will put up with his rudeness, his insinuations and his animosity because… she loves him, and at least she works with him. Now his family has asked her to go face the lion in his own personal den of pain and bitterness to try to bring him back from the edge or at least to what is normal attitude for him. Dealing with Zach in the office is one thing, but in his home on a more personal level is going to stretch Gabby’s nerves and determination to the limit.
Here’s the thing – Zach has had a crush on Gabby for a very long time. Because they work so closely an office romance really isn’t in the cards for him. Besides our hero has taken it upon himself to punish Gabby for some office gossip he’s picked up about a so called affair with someone she works with. And of course he has tarred and feathered her in his mind without ever getting to the truth. The one time he confronted her, she understandably got her back up and wouldn’t tell him a thing since they only work together, he doesn’t own her. So the girl stood up for herself and in Zach’s convoluted mind that equaled guilt. (and they say girls are drama queens)
Somehow these two, who obviously have deep emotional feelings for each other, have to get past the rhetoric and talk the truth to each other. This time during Zach’s recovery could be the perfect time for them to discover who the other person really is deep inside. If only Zach doesn’t blow his chance with another of his tantrums.
I’ll Be There deals with some serious issues in life. No one gets off scot free in the troubles department. But this is an engaging story, in spite of my personal reactions to Zach. He is no hero in my mind. But he could redeem himself. If you have followed the series this will be an enjoyable addition.

It’s rare to find a male matchmaker, but in I'll Be There (The Montgomery Brothers #6), Montgomery family patriarch and romantic William finds an interesting excuse to shake up the life of his nephew Zach. Zach is in bad sorts as he struggles with recuperating from a terrible accident. So uncle William decides it’s time to wake Zach up with a tactic meant to build his confidence and heal, all the while getting the girl that is clearly perfect for him, his assistant Gabriella Martine. The idea is designed to get Zach back in the game and round out Zach’s shallow life.
When we first catch up with Zach, he’s not the most sympathetic character. He’s brooding and now angry at his uncles’ interference, not that he knows true intentions. But Chase creates characters that are multi-dimensional and although it took some time, but I found myself charmed by Zach. He’s sexy and at his core self assured, but we see him at a time where he is very vulnerable. His stubborn nature sways his attractiveness a bit, but he’s a force.
Gabriella on the other hand is a sympathetic and likable character from the go. Maybe it’s cause we know she’s put up with Zach for a long while, but it’s easy to understand her hesitation with Williams’ proposition. But Gabriella is not a girl who backs down from a challenge and Zach is someone she knows too well. It’s likely the only person who might get through to him is Gabriella.The one thing I loved about her is that she knows her limits, knows exactly what can and can’t hurt her. This self awareness makes her an interesting character to follow.
As for the story line and Zach and Gabriella’s relationship. The pace, the buildup to them, is steady and there are many moments of contention between them. Zach is seductive and expects to get his way but Gabriella keeps him working for it. I like the angst that we get (although I expected it sooner then it came), but it’s the kind where you wonder just HOW they will salvage their relationship. Their HEA is much needed and deserved. There’s just enough damage and heartbreak, but we also get to see our characters evolve and turn faults to strengths.
It’s not necessary to have read the previous books, but there are a few backstory items mentioned that give context to Zach’s life and Gabriellas’ role in it. And the secondary characters really do add a lot to the story. Zach’s sister Summer and her relationship with Gabriella gave me some of my favorite moments The sixth book in the Montgomery Family series, I’ll Be There is a strong 4 star read. Being my first read of Ms Chase’s work, I’m impressed by the family and look forward to when i can dive into book 1 and read the series in proper order.

Zach Montgomery is part of the wealthy and powerful Montgomery family and he's used to doing what he wants and living life however he sees fit. He has a high-powered job within the family business and is a risk taker in his personal life, too. And when he suffers a life threatening climbing injury, his newfound vulnerability makes him even more difficult.
His longtime assistant, Gabriella Martine, is used to difficult men and she's always been able to stick up for herself just fine. She always thought Zach gorgeous and charming but has always been careful to be professional around him. She's sure he doesn't feel the same attraction for her the way she does for him.
When Zach becomes more and more frustrated and dependent on others, his Uncle William, always the charming and meddling matchmaker, asks Gabriella to go to Zach's apartment to work with him until he's ready to come back to the office, to see if she can get through to him where no one else can. And she tries, she really does, but Zach is determined to be as difficult a jerk as possible. He's fired numerous therapists and after several days, Gabriella is close to her breaking point with him. Frankly, I found it a little tough to believe he'd turn himself around, too, but I guess you never know with guys, right?
So finally, the new physical therapist is working out, Zach is making progress in getting around and he begins to see Gabrielle in a new light. The attraction he's always felt for her, that he would never before admit, also comes to light and Gabriella is soon thrilled to take their relationship to a more intimate level.
Zach has a long way to go in becoming the kind of man that Gabriella could spend her life with and he's not even sure he can change that much. He tries, but can he get it right? As I said, I guess you just never know with guys, hmm?
This is number six in the Montgomery Brothers series and it's hot and sexy and frankly, I was glad Gabrielle was a strong woman, because as cute and take charge as Zach was, he needed to be put in his place if there was going to be a wonderful HEA!

At first when I started this book I was a little lost but the more I kept reading the more I started to remember what happened in the previous book. Although this could be read as a standalone I highly suggest you read the book before this one to get the full understanding.
With all that said I enjoyed Gabriella and Zachs story. It Starts off with Zach doing physical therapy and trying to get his life back after falling off a mountain that he was climbing. He has let himself go and is grumpier then ever. His assistant Gabriella is used to him being this way but one can only take so much.
I liked Zach but I thought he was more mean and running off at the mouth more then he was grumpy. Some of things he said were just uncalled for and if I was Gabriella I would have left him alone to fend for himself.
Gabriella has had feelings for Zach but she is his assistant and knows nothing could ever happen. When her past comes to the surface and truths are revealed its up to Zach to believe her.
One thing I loved about these two was there arguing. They do it a lot but that just adds to the attraction between them. They have worked together for 5 years and after office gossip Zach starts to treat Gabriella different. I enjoyed how the relationship between them wasn't rushed and they were still feeling it out.
Even though Zach was working on getting his strength back I liked how he didn't want to rush getting Gabriella in bed although I did think he rushed into the I love you part.
It was good catching up with Summer and Ethan's wedding and the other Montgomerys who are in and out of the whole story. They are funny and a real bunch of characters. They make you want to be in the family right along with them.
I think towards the end of the book when Gabriella finally stood up to her family was my favorite. It was long overdue and I really just wanted to clap!

I'll Be There is the sixth book in Samantha Chase's Montgomery series. The characters and their journey set this book apart from the other books in the series. I'll Be There examines what happens when a driven businessman and athlete is severely injured in a sports- related accident. Zach's journey takes him from denial, recovery and finally acceptance as he comes to terms with the fact that he almost died. The author offers a realistic portrayal of a bitter, independent man who doesn't want assistance from anyone until he accepts his situation and chooses recovery over self-pity.
The characters of Zach and Gabriella are multi-faceted and they are very different from the other characters in the series. Although the couple is attracted to each other, their path to romance has several surprising detours. Zach is a perfectionist, he's headstrong and very independent. He is a successful businessman and he loves the challenge of extreme sports in his spare time. Gabrielle Martine is a no nonsense type of person. She's Zach's assistant and Gabrielle "gets" him. She has worked with Zach and understands him better than most of his family members. Faced with losing his position in his company or accepting Gabrielle's help, Zach chooses to work with Gabby. Samantha Chase has created a great heroine. Gabrielle’s past and her family life are brought to light during the story and it’s important for the reader to understand how Gabrielle's past has influenced her and plays a part in her choices.
Kudos to Samantha Chase for writing a well-paced look at the emotional and physical issues after a life threatening accident. Loved the mutual attraction between the characters and how it simmered slowly at the beginning of the novel. I'll Be There is a fabulous story of a determined man and the woman who loves him and has strength enough for both of them. I read this book in one day as I was invested in the characters and their story. And I am hoping to read another Montgomery book soon!

Possible spoilers: These Montgomery series books are basically a rehash of the Shaughnessy series, but not as good or interesting; she should've stopped there. But what a money train, just keep writing the same series over and over, just change the names and make them relatives. It's been done by other authors but at least some of those authors change things up a little...not Samantha Chase. All I can say is I'm glad I got all of these from the library. I shouldn't complain too much since I keep reading them! I get involved in the characters after the first couple of books and just can't help myself, but this one made me mad!
I rolled my eyes throughout; it was really bad compared to the other books in the series, and some of those were maybe 2-3 star quality. It did follow the same formula with the male/female dynamic and sequence of events (basically the same in every single book), but Zach in this was completely over-the-top verbally abusive to Gabriella to the point where she never should have forgiven him, especially after the THIRD time! He goes from being completely in love and wanting to marry her one moment to telling her to leave and that he didn't love her and accusing her of things he knew she had never done...he had known her for five years, she worked as his admin. For a few of those years he had been awful to her (for such a lame reason) and she put up with it when she should have quit! He had begged her to go back to him the second time and she reluctantly trusted him. For him to do it again after that was unforgivable. The reason given for his rash behavior was completely ridiculous! It's like he has a split personality, he just keeps doing the same thing to her over and over.
That's the thing, in every book, including the other series, there is the big breakup for a time, for such stupid reasons, but it's part of the formula. Forgivable for the most part in the other books, you know it's coming at some point, but not forgivable in this ridiculous book.

Loved this book..Book 6 in The Montgomery Brothers.
Zack Montgomery was having a though time after his accident. He knew all his family wanted was to try and help him, but it just wasn't easy. His father and uncle blow his mind with what they presented to him. There done with his attitude. The last person he expects to see is his assistant Gabriella at his door, and what he tells him. He wonders why she's here? He doesn't want any part of her seeing him broken like this. Out of the question he refuses. Yet she sticks it out, well that's until he pushes her right out the door with his hurtful words.
Gabriella thinks she can help Zach. They have worked together for so long. When his uncle and father tell her what they have told Zach, well she's bound and determined to help him. Whatever it takes she'll be there.
So will Gabriella be able to help him, or will he push her away like he's done everyone else since his accident?

Let me start by saying this is the first book I've read by Samantha Chase. When I read the synopsis, I thought this would be right up my alley, and I was excited to get started.
For the first two-thirds of the story, I enjoyed the characters and their tempestuous interactions. It made for engaging reading, even when you wanted to smack some sense into them. Zach's character was absolutely spot-on when he was giving everyone a hard time, though his "revelation" seemed a bit forced. Gabriella was pretty tough, tough I'm surprised she took so much crap from Zach for so long. Once the two of them moved past Zach's attitude, things got pretty interesting.
For me though, the last third of the book-and in particular everything that happened after Gabriella's brother-in-law comes by to see her-really bugged the heck out of me. Zach's reaction felt way overboard, and I felt Gabriella was justified in her response. The other thing that rubbed me the wrong way about this story was Gabriella and the purring. Over and over. Oh, and over again. That got old pretty fast.
But, the overall story and the way things ended did make up for a lot...resulting in my 3.5 star rating. There's some hot scenes between Zach and Gabriella, but nothing explicit so this will appeal to a wide range of readers. I'll definitely be going back to read the other stories in this series since the supporting characters were pretty intriguing (especially Summer and Ethan).
For the first two-thirds of the story, I enjoyed the characters and their tempestuous interactions. It made for engaging reading, even when you wanted to smack some sense into them. Zach's character was absolutely spot-on when he was giving everyone a hard time, though his "revelation" seemed a bit forced. Gabriella was pretty tough, tough I'm surprised she took so much crap from Zach for so long. Once the two of them moved past Zach's attitude, things got pretty interesting.
For me though, the last third of the book-and in particular everything that happened after Gabriella's brother-in-law comes by to see her-really bugged the heck out of me. Zach's reaction felt way overboard, and I felt Gabriella was justified in her response. The other thing that rubbed me the wrong way about this story was Gabriella and the purring. Over and over. Oh, and over again. That got old pretty fast.
But, the overall story and the way things ended did make up for a lot...resulting in my 3.5 star rating. There's some hot scenes between Zach and Gabriella, but nothing explicit so this will appeal to a wide range of readers. Where does one start with Zach and Gabriella. Boy oh boy was this a good read, I have been waiting for this story since we first got a glimpse of Gabriella back in "Meant for You". Samantha Chase really has done this couple justice, from the way the story is told I just fall more and more in love with Gabs and her determination. The way she handles Zach by not taking any of his crap, trying to be a bigger person when he is a complete jerk is really well written. There are times throughout the book that you want to slap Zach as much as Gabriella does and yes you can feel for him after going through as much as he did, recovering from his traumatic injuries. Like most recoveries this isn't an easy road and for Zach it is extremely frustrating because he isn't used to his body not doing what he wants it to.
We will read about some triumphs coming through for these character and we will also read about some very big emotional times.

If you haven't read the previous books, I certainly recommend that you do - if nothing else that it puts Zach in a very clear position in his family and workplace. The previous books deal with William Montgomery's meddling ways in his sons and nephews/niece's romantic lives. It is a fun dynamic which continues in a similar vein here. In other words, even more than a usual romance novel, we know that WM gets his way!
It is highly entertaining and enjoyable watching how things develop. Frustrated as Zach is with his injury, as prickly as Gabriella is from her previous experiences, we know what is going to happen. But as always the writing draws us in and we get to live out the drama as it unfolds. Delicious!

TW: abusive relationships
I love Samantha Chase, but this one missed the mark, y'all. I saw it on the shelf at the library, and picked it up because I hadn't read this one in the series yet, but I almost couldn't finish it. I don't write reviews often, and almost never negative ones, but this is not a HEA...it is a straight-up abusive relationship.
There are several references to Zach being hostile and verbally abusive to Gabriella (for years! YEARS!!!) before the events of the book, unrelated to the injury/recovery that is the basis of the plot. I'm usually a sucker for the injured hero trope, but I felt like the behavior and things he said went way past acceptable frustration/depression. He swings wildly from deeply in love to bitter and vicious. He has excuses, but abusers always have excuses. It's always about him and what he wants, and on multiple occasions he pushes Gabriella into doing things that she tells him she's not comfortable with (not sex related things, but consent is consent).
If you see yourself in Zach and Gabriella's relationship, please know that you deserve so much better. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one, because the physical therapist, Alex, is a great character and has a really great dynamic. Really wish he and Gabriella would have got together instead!

Zach is a workaholic to put it mildly. He lives for the job and for adventure. Suddenly his adventures have put him out of commission at work so what's a guy to do? Harass his long suffering assistant naturally. Gabriella loves working for the Montgomerys - even if her boss can be a lot to handle. It doesn't hurt that she finds him charming and good looking. But this injured, angry Zach is a bit different to deal with and it seems that Gabriella is the only who dares to. As she meets his stubbornness head on with her own - Zach starts to see her, all of her. And wonders how he's been missing it for so long. It's an uphill battle and not an easy one - this story will have you wondering (more than once) if an HEA for these two is at all possible. You'll have to read it to find out.
