I haven't enjoyed an ending this much in a while! It was the best. What a twist. I can't believe I didn't see it coming. That's all I have to say about that. You have to read it to know.
I heard so much about this series and the characters from a few people I follow on YouTube. I quickly downloaded it on Libby and blew through it. It's got a little bit of everything, so there's something for everyone - serial killer, psychopath, courtroom drama, who-done-it, and the investigation process. I loved the influencer angle. It was so applicable to the times. I can totally see what happened, actually happening.
My worst fear is being falsely accused of something and being unable to prove I didn't do it. I could feel the fear and desperation in Ellie. The prison scene was tense. Most of us don't ever have to be in as much danger as Ellie in prison. You can see how innocent people in prison do things to earn REAL prison time because of survival.

This book hooked me from the first chapter. The first part of the book really gets your heart pounding. The book is part of a series about Eddie Flynn, a lawyer, and his team of investigators. Even though it’s part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone book, I didn’t find anything confusing and the author did a good job on tying in the back story. There was a lot going on in this book, so the suspense just kept coming. All-in-all, it was a good thriller and you’ll find yourself wanting to close your eyes or yell at a character not turn a corner because something doesn’t feel right! It’s creepy and suspenseful because you just know there’s somebody always lurking in the shadows and watching 🫣
I wasn't really sure about this one for a while, but then it got very interesting and I could not wait to finish it. The killer is super interesting and Eddie Flynn is a character I want to read more of. I will definitely be grabbing the next book in this series!
