I really enjoyed the story, and this would likely have been a five-star review if not for one baffling formatting choice: the author seems to start a new paragraph every time there is a new set of quotation marks, even when the speaker hasn’t changed. That may sound like a minor stylistic quirk, but a new paragraph in dialogue normally tells the reader that someone else has started speaking, so this repeatedly makes simple exchanges far more confusing than they have any reason to be.
For example, the book formats one exchange like this:
As written, I naturally read “Good job out there” as Micheal speaking and “Thanks” as Shin’s response. That is what the paragraph structure is telling me. Except that makes no sense once the narration says that Micheal is accepting the compliment.
The intended exchange is clearly supposed to be:
In isolation, this would be easily forgivable, but the entire book is like this. Double quote, new paragraph, screw context. Maybe the previous books did it too, but it's been two years since the last one, and while I remember the author always being quirky in his stylistic choices, I don’t remember them being this egregiously irritating.
I guess this ended up being more of a writing structure criticism than an actual review. Good story, meh editing, befuddling formatting. Guess we wait two years for the next one?

As good as ever

I really liked the take on the antagonists. In a series with power creep like this, how do you make the story feel ground and the reader invested? By making the bullshit powers that other Mcs are supposed to have and giving them to the villains, with conditions of course.
Going up against a time loop is very genuine and interesting, and I really appreciate how Michael isn't the strongest human. When there is no metric for power left then it feels meaningless.
There is also still a feeling of growth with the trait system, but it is very much put on the backburner compared to the world building and story. Sticking to the progression fantasy aspects are a good call.
Shin added so much to the story, im glad the author kept him relevant while at the same time fleshing out how he met Michael when they were kids. The absolute cherry on top was when it went from shins perspective if thinking "what would Michael do in this situation" to Michael doing the same but reversed for shin. These kind of things really add depth to a story for me.
Thank you for continuing this wonderful series. Its been a long road but you've outdone yourself. I can't wait for the next one!

A good continuation of the series. It has been 2 years since the last book came out and when I looked back it had been two years since the previous book was out before that. So, a long time between books. The worst part of that is you forget the finer details from the previous stories. This one has Michael and Shin on the 3rd layer. They are attacked immediately upon arriving, but there is much more to it. Overall, I do enjoy the series and wish the books would come out more often.

This series holds a special place in my heart as it is the very first LitRPG I read and it sucked me down a rabbit that is the LitRPG Genre as a whole. Now years later and hundreds of books later it unfortunately doesnt quite stack up anymore. If I had to give one word to describe this book it would be, Scattershot. It flits from one scene to the next with no rhyme or reason and the plot armour is epic, if Michael needs something it appears and we get a quick one or two page snapshot of a previous time to explain why exactly this miraculous appearance is happening, time and time again.
The author does a great job of avoiding power creep that so many LitRPG novels suffer from by making the requirements for traversal to each layer greater and greater (and making them, mostly, unable to return back to lower layers to dominate) but what made the story great at the beginning was Michaels future knowledge, and as the books progress, the changes Michael makes means that knowledge is no longer relevant and that means the story has to have some other hook to keep readers interested, and in this one it fell short of that goal. Masses of cultivation and conceptual powers jargon that was just annoying and quite a lot of errors, mostly substitution words where it just slightly changes what the sentence should have been. Lots of repetition as well, right at the very end of the book the word "mountain" was used 5 times in the same paragraph, and thats just one example, the authors penchant for repeating the names of everyones power over and over gets annoying as well.
The actual story was enjoyable with some nice twists and turns but ultimately the whole novel is lacking. I was really looking forward to this after such a long break between books but its only 3.5/5 Enjoyable-ish but average.

Great addition to the series
So I first started reading this series early on, and for anyone who followed this, it has been kind of a wild ride.
As for this book, it's kind of the peak of what I want from L M Kerr. The story is the real amazing part, and I like to think of some of the action sequences / thrilling scenes as being described like a comic book. This book really brings together the multiple threads to the story, and kind of kicks it into the next level of struggle, from just Michael's story to now more of Humanities story, which I think is the most thrilling story telling.
Idk when the next book will come out, and I won't be holding my breath, but I'm excited for it.

Best book thus far!!!
I absolutely loved book 5!!! I think it was my favorite book thus far!!! Amazing fights, super fun and cool characters, stakes that are higher than any before!!! And teasers for the future!!! I'm so excited for book 6, as we've seen a bunch of characters and situations that might just completely change the game. This series came back with a bang and I'm here for it. Thank you for the work LM Kerr!!! It was awesome

Did not enjoy this book as much as the previous
This book has a significant change of pace from the previous four. Instead of a protagonist who is Wiley the majority of the book is the protagonist scrambling from one disaster to another trying to catch the pieces before they hit the ground.
Not sure if I'm resistant to it because it's so different than the other books and I wasn't expecting it?

Love it
I can't wait for book 6. Book 5 was great, not my favorite but the story as a whole is still 5 stars. I want to see Micheal build his own group / organization and maybe pull in some of these groups he is interacting with. I wish he would straight up tell the vile king that his methods are disastrous for human kind. He is already changing things. As of book 6 nothing will be as it was in the first timeline. !!

great Litrpg Book!
Just as good as the first few novels! I like the characters and the system. Still one of the best early regression Litrpg series out there. I appreciate the continuity and story. The MC may be OP but still exists in a universe where tile power continues to ramp up. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

Gripping and Intense
The character development, the world building and plot all continues in another Intense installment. The sheer quantity of characters encountered, view points, stories adding life to the world and the amount of story threads intersecting with one another is fantastic. Im looking forward to the audio release as reading this took approximately 12-14 hours

One of my fave series
It's been a while since there was an entry for this series and I'm so glad to see the next installment. It has everything that I look for in litrpg books. In fact it was one of the first series I read for this genre. It had me hooked on book 1 up till now. Amazing work and looking forward to the next.

After a long wait, it was great

Shenanigans ensue
L.M. Kerr did a great job with this newest installment of the Reborn: Apocalypse series. The pace was great, the side character screen time was just the right amount, and the complicated concepts were well thought out and meshed into the story. Great read.

Really pleased to see another book in the series. Not quite as polished as book 4, and come on, let's have Micheal and Sophia back together again, but a definite recommend for fans of the series. It does have quite a different vibe to the earlier books but the nature of what he's doing means it had to change. Hoping to see book 6!

great story—exemplary
In a genre full of marginal books, it’s rare to find a series this well written, this novel, and this interesting. LM Kerr has constructed an amazing series of world (s?) with dozens of interesting characters. Highly recommend.

I love this series I love this series I love this series. ABSOLUTE PEAK KEEP WRITING PLEASE!!! The fights in this series are the best I've read, the characters also amazing, the story flawless so far. And its so hard to do time stuff right. Simply amazing.

A regression story with a time loop book??? Awesome!!
I love the continued development of Titled Deities as reality-warping antagonists has been great. I'm also loving the increased screen time for both Director Prime and Constantine.

Great read in lit rpg
My favorite lit.rpg. every time a book drops i pick it up. This one on the 3rd layers begins to really weave the whole story together. Great work by the aunm kthor. This is a must read in the genre.

Solid entry. I appreciate that the book revolves around a storyline that was completed. The cast of characters is getting pretty large and it is hard to remember all the players. Aside from that, I really enjoyed this book and am excited for more.

Kerr has once again done a wonderful job creating a story of intertwining characters, goals, and worlds that you cannot help but get lost in it.
In short: Michael is getting stronger, and the Deities are starting to feel it.
