Diamond got her heart absolutely demolished by the WRONG man and instead of listening to the people who loved her, she said, “Nah, I got this.” 😭 Now add in a traumatic childhood, trust issues taller than a skyscraper, and enough stubbornness to power a small city, and you get Diamond. So naturally, when life said, “Try something different,” she did. And Jabari basically said, “Aight, bet. Let me show you what real love looks like.” 👀 But BABY… this book isn’t just romance. Some of these men are out here playing directly in people’s faces. The audacity is free and they’re using every bit of it. Meanwhile, others are stepping up and proving why they’re worth the effort. Add workplace drama, ex drama, trust issues, and enough tension to have me side-eyeing everybody, and I was INVESTED. Now the question is… Is Jabari really the man who’s going to show Diamond what real love looks like? Or is Diamond about to have me cussing at my Kindle again? 😒📚💎 You’re gonna have to read it and find out.
This whole book had me like huh? 👀ohhh 😳… then what?! 😩… IKYFL 🤦🏽♀️… girl, open your eyes! 😭… then THAT’S MY GIRL! 💅🏽
Safe to say, this book took me on a complete whirlwind of emotions. Diamond started off being Stevie Wonder to all the BS, but once she learned the game, baby… she LEARNEDT🫰🏾. She went from being the victim to being the whole problem. If they wanted smoke, sis showed up with a lighter and gasoline. 🔥
I was crying laughing when one of the men tried to catch her up and Diamond basically hit him with an “and?” 💁🏽♀️ Then turned around and decided everybody was about to be interviewed. My sis ran a strict program!! I’m not even mad at it😂
This book had me laughing, crying, stressed, scratching my head and everything in between. The twist at the end was something I wasn’t expecting but it did put some things into perspective. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend.
Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for Part 2👏🏽📚
I am trying so bad not to DNF this book. I am at 59 percent. She met Jabari at 49 percent into the book. They met had two dates and now they are engaged and in love? Ain’t had sex or nothing. The book has not shown them have any real dialogue or conversation to justify their love?
The book started off strong. We see Diamond’s back story in depth. We see what her ex boyfriend did to her in depth.
The author has a kind of interesting story going on with the step dad’s business. This book is long winded and a lot could be taken out. I will edit when I am done. I had to write before I forgot.
If you enjoy hood romance, boss love, strong female leads, protective male leads, family drama, and a romance packed with twists and emotional depth, this book belongs on your TBR immediately.
Sweet Pea delivered exactly what the title promised—an unhinged romance filled with drama, healing, loyalty, betrayal, and a love story that keeps you invested from beginning to end. From the very first chapter, I was locked into Diamond Stone's journey as she worked to rebuild her life after having her heart completely shattered by the wrong man. Instead of allowing her past to define her, Diamond focused on herself, her family legacy, and protecting her peace.
Diamond learned from her dating mistakes and stood on business after that. If you’re familiar with Sweetpea, you know Messiness 101 will be in session in this book. It was full of twists and turns and kept me turning pages. If you like urban romances, messiness & good laughs this is the book for you.
Well it took a while to get there but it was sad that the new daddy (step daddy) died... im glad she got it together she was all over the place with those men but I understand why she did what she did to them.... i just didnt understand her having multiple personalities it was crazy... lets see how it all ends.
Got dang me. listen Diamonds ran a tight mf ship. it was crazy how everything played out. It was so much up and down. This book has me so irritated at some of the character like be for real. But those twists at the end had me like now Sweetpea why you do us like that. i need a part two.
With her past, it only took one time to know she is not to be played with lol… I’m glad she knew her worth and was able to weave out who could really capture her heart (messy ride included lol)
There is a lot going on my girl diamond will make sure she gets her happily ever after she has been played once and won’t be taking that road again. Because that man was a whole clown ok. I think I like Jabari but I feel like it’s more to him he didn’t show
I enjoyed this chaotic at times book. It only took 1 time for Diamond to be hurt before she started running a strict program. Sis was not playing with these men, and one wrong move, she was dropping them like they meant nothing to her. Sis literally had a roster. Not only was her love life interesting, but the family business was doing some shady business dealings. Every time I thought I had the story figured out, another loop was thrown. I'm talking about hit after hit was coming for Diamond and her family. Were there some moments that didn't feel realistic? Yes, but that is what makes a good fiction book. What would've made this book a 5 star read for me is if more of the romance side was shown. I didn't get the connection with her and the man she chose, plus add in the news she got at the hospital, I was confused by it all because the timeline wasn't matching. With all that being said, I can't wait for part 2 because their were so many thing left unanswered.
