Oh my gosh, I loved this book! Suits is one of my favourite TV shows and this is Suits plus romance and it was incredibleeeeeeee. Miles is basically Harvey Specter and you will not convince me otherwise.
The fake dating trope was a-plus, the chemistry between Miles and Ivy was off the charts, and it gave me that lovely warm squishy feeling you get when you read a really good romance novel.
Ivy was so kickass. I loved her. She’s in a male dominated world, treated like dirt most of the time and I liked that she was unafraid to stick up for herself. I wish I was more like that, but alas I am a scaredy-cat.
This book was incredibly spicy 🥵 🌶️ but also tender and warm and sweet and sad and it featured references to a lot of my favourite rom-coms.
The class action lawsuit was heartbreaking - apps probably do stuff like this all the time and I was cheering for Ivy and Miles to take Korsen to task, along with Ivy’s odious ex-boyfriend Spencer 🤮

I think I can wear a shirt—or have a plane write across the sky—that says Nilufer’s favorite vice is enemies-to-lovers romance. Okay, fine, Chardonnay and Van Leeuwen ice cream are competing for second place, but give me two people who supposedly can’t stand each other, throw them into forced proximity, add some sexual tension and sarcastic banter, and I’m already seated. I’ll even watch it in a foreign language without subtitles. I’m that committed to the cause!
So naturally, this book felt like it was personally designed to tempt me.
We have legal battles, workplace rivalry, fake dating, a second-chance-ish love triangle, an infuriatingly charismatic male lead, and enough chemistry to set the courtroom on fire. Sign me up!
Ivy Isley is exactly the kind of heroine I like rooting for. She’s ambitious, smart, determined to prove herself in a male-dominated law firm, and carrying enough emotional baggage from her past to fill an entire courtroom. Her new case gives her exactly the opportunity she has been waiting for: taking on a dating app accused of exploiting users’ private information. And the case isn’t just about corporate wrongdoing—it has some genuinely heartbreaking human consequences, including the story of a woman whose personal information being exposed puts her in terrifying danger.
Then there’s Miles Montrose.
Oh, Miles.
This man walks into the story carrying enough arrogance, sarcasm, confidence, and daddy issues to qualify as his own legal exhibit. I’m not diagnosing him with anything because apparently I’m not qualified to do that, but let’s just say he has intense tendencies. Think a slightly lower-budget Christian Grey without the red room, less BDSM, and somehow an even more complicated family situation. 😂 He’s infuriating, controlling, clever, protective, and ridiculously charismatic—and underneath all that assholery, there is actually a man who genuinely cares about justice and Ivy.
Also, Miles calling her “blondie” from the beginning? Sir. We need to discuss your vocabulary choices.
And yes, Spencer is technically the other romantic option, but honestly? Please. He left Ivy without explanation, moved on, and then has the audacity to act jealous when she starts getting close to Miles. He was fighting a losing battle before he even entered the courtroom. At one point, he calls Ivy pathetic, and I immediately wanted to file a restraining order against his romantic ambitions. 😂
But the real reason this romance works is Ivy and Miles together.
The chemistry is ridiculously palpable. Their arguments have sparks, their fake relationship has even more sparks, and their late-night case preparation somehow manages to make legal research feel dangerously sexy. The fake-dating setup gives us plenty of delicious moments, and I absolutely enjoyed watching their professional rivalry slowly turn into something neither of them can quite control.
I also liked that their emotional baggage wasn't simply there as decoration. Ivy's abandonment wounds and Miles's complicated relationship with his family give their attraction some emotional weight. Underneath the banter and flirting, both of them are trying to figure out whether they can actually trust someone enough to let that person stay.
My only hesitation was that there is almost too much happening at once. We have the class-action lawsuit, workplace politics, the ex-boyfriend drama, fake dating, family issues, emotional baggage, romantic misunderstandings, and several other moving pieces. I found myself wishing the story had been trimmed by maybe 30–50 pages so we could get to the heart of the romance and legal conflict a little faster. By the time we reached the big revelations and anticipated grand gesture, I wanted to be completely swept off my feet, but the buildup had taken a little of the wind out of my sails.
And here's my biggest enemies-to-lovers complaint: I wanted MORE enemies!
Because once Ivy and Miles become partners on the case, the relationship moves relatively quickly from workplace rivals into friends-to-lovers territory, with fake dating doing most of the heavy lifting. And listen, I love fake dating too, but give me more HATE first! Let them verbally destroy each other before they start looking at each other like dessert. 😂 Hate is the seasoning. You can't rush the seasoning!
Still, I had a genuinely fun time with this one. The legal drama gives the rom-com enough substance to keep it from feeling fluffy, while the romance provides plenty of warmth, banter, and swoony moments. I loved most of the characters, absolutely rooted for Ivy and Miles, and enjoyed watching their relationship evolve even when I occasionally wanted to shake both of them.
I’m rounding 3.5 stars up to 4 because, despite my pacing complaints, this was exactly the kind of entertaining, trope-loaded, joyful reading experience I needed. And honestly, when a book gives me enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, workplace tension, legal drama, a gorgeous arrogant man with emotional damage, and chemistry that practically needs its own courtroom warning label, I’m going to forgive a few things. ❤️⚖️

I basically sacrificed my entire day to this book, and I have zero regrets.
I started Enemies to Lawyers expecting a fun enemies-to-lovers romance with two lawyers, and instead I ended up sitting on my couch reading almost the entire book because I genuinely could not make myself put it down. And when I finally got to the end, I didn’t even want it to be over.
Ivy and Miles were EVERYTHING.
Enemies to lovers is already one of my favorite tropes, but give me two incredibly smart, competitive lawyers who can actually keep up with each other? Yeah, I was sold.
The banter was probably my favorite part of their relationship. They were constantly going back and forth, challenging each other and being just arrogant enough to make their dynamic ridiculously entertaining. But underneath all of that was so much tension that I completely bought into their relationship long before anything actually happened between them.
And this is a SLOW burn. I specifically remember looking down at my Kindle and realizing I was around 67% into the book before we finally got somewhere 😂 But the payoff??? WORTH. IT.
The fake dating also worked so well for me. It didn’t feel like a trope that was thrown in just because the author wanted fake dating. It actually made sense within the story, especially with Ivy’s ex being on the opposing side of their case. And watching that fake relationship slowly blur into something very much not fake was exactly the kind of shit I eat up.
What surprised me was how much substance there was underneath all the flirting and tension, though.
I really loved Ivy. She’s ambitious, smart, and determined to build the career she wants, but she’s also working in an environment where she’s constantly dealing with sexism and being treated differently from the men around her. I loved that the book actually acknowledged that instead of pretending everyone in the workplace was operating on an equal playing field. And I especially loved that Miles actually listened to her.
Seeing Ivy slowly realize that the arrogant man she’d made up her mind about years ago wasn’t necessarily the person she thought he was was one of my favorite parts of their relationship. He paid attention to her. He made her feel seen. He watched her favorite rom-coms (even without her!!!) and all of those little moments completely sold me on why these two belonged together.
The 10 Things I Hate About You reference also had me completely gone. Oh and the spice absolutely delivered after making me wait that long 😂
Even the late-book relationship conflict, which is normally where romance books start testing my patience, didn’t bother me because it was resolved SO quickly. There was no dragging things out for another 100 pages just for the sake of angst. Thank you!!!
My only tiny hesitation came toward the epilogue with Ivy’s career decision. Because so much of her story was about fighting for her ambitions and refusing to make herself smaller, part of me initially wondered whether her choice contradicted some of that growth. But I also understood what the book was saying: choosing ambition doesn’t necessarily mean choosing the biggest job, longest hours, or most impressive title at the expense of everything else. And importantly, Miles was willing to make the sacrifice for her, too.
Ultimately, I just completely bought Ivy and Miles as a couple. Their chemistry, the banter, the tension, the romance, the courtroom storyline, the writing, it all worked for me. Nothing felt like filler. I was never bored. I never hit a section where I wondered why it was there.
I just wanted to keep reading.

Ivy essentially inherited this "enemy" status strictly by extension through her ex. Fast-forward five years post-breakup, and her ex's rival insists on making her his co-counsel, setting off a chaotic fake-dating arrangement.
It had the potential to be a five-star read, but parts of it gave me an ick right from the start. The author mentions in the note before the book and the acknowledgments after about Ivy being a character who refuses to make herself small so others can feel comfortable; however, she spends more than half the book doing exactly that for both her ex and her new co-counsel.
Even if Ivy eventually goes along with it, early moves from the love interest feel far more like a mild bully romance or workplace sexual harassment than a traditional rom-com. Showing up, declaring they are co-counsel, demanding a fake relationship, setting up a publicized kiss without her consent, and routinely dictating physical interactions without asking permission goes way beyond playful banter—it crosses legal and ethical boundaries, regardless of romance tropes.
I had to constantly force my brain to ignore those massive red flags to enjoy the story for what it was: fictional romance. Still, it is hard to take the book's political stance against workplace sexism seriously when the love interest is allowed to play by the exact same toxic rules as the ex. Why does he get a free pass while we are supposed to hate the ex for identical behavior?
Content-wise, this sits just above an R rating and lightly moves into low NC-17 territory. It is a bit too explicitly detailed for an R-rated movie, but it is certainly not full triple-X or erotica. Beyond the romantic dynamic, there is a civil lawsuit involved, which accounts for most of the trigger warnings (all past events, none descriptive).
Ultimately, this story had a really good foundation and plenty of funny moments, but because of the questionable consent dynamics, it knocks it out of five-star territory for me. If you enjoy a mild bully romance dynamic, can ignore the boundary issues, and can turn off your critical thinking, it is a solid 4-star read.
Recommend to others: Yes, I think most people can get down with this one, as long as they are fans of R and NC-17 romance tropes.

Content-wise, this sits just above an R rating and lightly moves into low NC-17 territory. It is a bit too explicitly detailed for an R-rated movie, but it is certainly not full triple-X or erotica. Beyond the romantic dynamic, there is a civil lawsuit involved, which accounts for most of the trigger warnings (all past events, none descriptive).
Ultimately, this story had a really good foundation and plenty of funny moments, but because of the questionable consent dynamics, it knocks it out of five-star territory for me. If you enjoy a mild bully romance dynamic, can ignore the boundary issues, and can turn off your critical thinking, it is a solid 4-star read.
Recommend to others: Yes, I think most people can get down with this one, as long as they are fans of R and NC-17 romance tropes.

Enemies to Lawyers was an absolute binge-worthy read, I genuinely did not want to put it down, and I loved both Milo and Ivy so much! Overall, this book gave me everything I look for in a top-tier romance: sharp banter, sizzling chemistry, deep character development, and a slow burn that pays off in the best way.
Milo and Ivy are both lawyers who went to law school together and rivals who work at the same firm. He handles civil cases, while she handles divorce cases. When Milo asks Ivy to be his co-counsel on a massive lawsuit against a company called Korsen, Ivy reluctantly agrees. The catch? Her ex-boyfriend - who also happens to be Milo’s old law school rival - is opposing counsel, leading them to fake-date to throw him off.
Technically, Ivy only ever considered Milo her rival because her ex hated him, but their workplace dynamic is hilarious. Their banter is top-tier right from the start and stays consistent throughout the whole book. I loved that Ivy always stood her ground; Milo can be a total arrogant asshole at times, which made her putting him in his place so incredibly satisfying. In the beginning, there were definitely moments where I wanted to punch him, but as the story unfolded, he completely won me over by showing his true, caring heart underneath all that armor.
One of my favorite highlights was watching their perception of each other shift. Watching Ivy gradually realize who Milo really was, while Milo learned more about her personally and professionally, was so heartwarming. I completely melted when he watched her favorite movies - it was so obvious he was down bad for her! (And my suspicion that he’s had feelings for her since their law school days turned out to be totally right!).
The case itself was so easy to follow - no confusion or complicated distractions, just pure, engaging plot. Even though it’s a slow burn, the tension and chemistry between them were built so masterfully that when they finally came together, the romance felt completely earned through their deep emotional connection.
I love this book so much, and I am so excited for Enemies to Lawyers to officially release next year! I cannot wait to read more from Letizia Lorini!

Enemies to Lawyers is one of those books that keeps you up way past a bedtime. The writing easily slides you in, and no amount of self-control showed up so I could let it pause. There are layers, there is depth, there are places that I laughed, and places that I cried, compassion, humanity, finding a voice, this book packs it all in there in a cohesive way. Miles knows who he is – a no-nonsense, no excuses, do it all costs attorney who doesn't apologize for being who he is. Even with all that, Ivy draws out pieces of him that takes his character to an incredible level. Ivy is also no-nonsense, smart, down-to-earth, but as it goes in a male dominated world with a over-reaching mother, she’s trying to find the best ways to use her voice, find out how far she can stretch before someone tries to push her back down. She has a dog named Greg – does anything more really need to be said? The chemistry between the two was a crazy delight – they could reach out and find each other in any room, any space. There was the spice, but what I really appreciated was the way Ivy and Miles grew as individuals and as a couple.
This story brought in so much more though. The way that corporations corrupt the space around them, the way that they will push and stomp on the every day people. So many stories were pulled in to show the consequences of a company accused of selling off data – for the wrong reasons. It showed humanity within the space of lawyers, courtrooms, and judges.
Enemies to Lawyers will be on the list of my top reads, and Letizia Lorini has become a must-buy author. Where does one go after a book hangover like this?

Every page, every argument, every stolen glance — I was hooked. It felt like Ali Hazelwood energy but with a sharper twist, deeper emotional stakes, and characters who felt so real I wanted to reach into the book and shake them, hug them, or force them to kiss depending on the chapter.

One thing about Letizia Lorini is - she knows how to build up that slow burn. I was always rooting for Ivy and Miles not just to win the legal case but to also finally find a way to share how they truly feel for one another. And Miles...gah Miles. Miles was such a golden retriever even though he appeared so tough. My favorite parts of the book were when both of them let their guards down with one another...I was swooning so hard.
I loved the underlying message in Enemies to Lawyers - fight for what you believe in, even if it's hard. Especially if it's hard. Ivy never had luck on her side in this book, but she didn't give up. And she made it known to those that depended on her that she wouldn't leave and that she was there for the long haul.
Overall, a great enemies to lovers romance!

Something about the trendy pink cover and the idea of a rom-com with lawyers attracted me to this book on a whim. It ended up being such a fun book-- with characters who had so many more layers than I expected-- that I couldn't put it down.
I am not a fan of forced proximity books, and this one does have elements of forced proximity, but the fake dating trope can be amusing. I love that the main female character, Ivy, a lawyer, chooses to enter into the forced proximity/fake dating scenario at first to improve her career, but very quickly it becomes a chance to remember who she is and make a difference in the world. She's quick to put Miles, her partner in their class action lawsuit, in his place (and she's also very quick to conclusions in a very human way). As Ivy and Miles fall in love, Ivy struggles to understand her emotions, and Miles, as presented through Ivy's eyes, is slowly morphing into a decent human being instead of a jerk. And the signs were there that he was a decent person all along.
The fake dating plot involves Ivy's ex, another lawyer, who adds emotional confusion to the plot. His presence definitely makes the novel more entertaining, and in the end, it is his existence in the story that helps Ivy grow. But the truly great part of the book is that Ivy and Miles make each other better people.
I would have given it five stars, which I rarely do, but I HATE the last chapter of the book. The entire book is in first person from Ivy's point of view and the last chapter presents Miles' perspective or so it seems... This is the same think I hate about the Fourth Wing series, the end of book perspective switch. And in this book, this last chapter goes back and forth between the two main characters and it really doesn't add anything to the story. I think the ping-pong attempt at a resolution that serves everyone's career goals is not needed and muddies the storyline.

Ivy is brilliant and badass, and watching her reclaim her self-worth after a painful breakup and a lifetime of dealing with a toxic mother was incredibly satisfying.
This genuinely might be the best-paced romance novel I've ever read. Every conflict feels natural and necessary for the characters' growth rather than manufactured for the sake of drama.

Look, I just graduated from law school and took the bar, so when I see a book called “Enemies to Lawyers” you can best be sure it’s an immediate addition to my TBR.
I loved Ivy and Miles’ dynamic so much — in particular, I adored how Miles’ feelings really came through even though this was a single POV book. Like, I knew from page one that this man had been yearning for years, and that only became more and more apparent as I got further in the book.
I also really appreciated how Ivy was characterized. She was a really fun take on the sort of prickly FMC that’d been hurt in love before and who felt like she needed to be tough to be respected… but she was also kind of soft. She watches romcoms because she wants to believe love still exists despite having her own heart broken and facilitating divorces everyday, and she collects rubber ducks to remind herself of the whimsy in the world when she’s at her lowest. Like, how I can I not want to protect that girl with everything in me?? And, obviously, Miles felt the same way.
Between the fake dating shenanigans that never miss and the legal backdrop (featuring surprisingly accurate legalese), I found this book to be SUCH a pleasure. Literally read it in a few hours, and I have no regrets.

"Enemies to Lawyers" is exactly the kind of book I love when I’m in the mood for sharp banter, competitive characters, undeniable chemistry, and that delicious tension that comes from two people who absolutely refuse to admit how much they’re drawn to each other.
The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was definitely one of the highlights for me. Ivy and Miles are both intelligent, ambitious, strong-minded people who are used to fighting for what they want—and naturally, that makes it extremely difficult for either of them to back down. Their arguments and disagreements were some of my favourite scenes because underneath all that irritation, you can feel the attraction simmering.
And the tension is TENSIONING!
The pacing worked well for me too. The story kept moving, and there was enough humour, conflict, romance, and emotional development to keep me invested. I also really enjoyed the overall tone of the book. It has that perfect combination of romantic tension, witty exchanges, rivalry, and emotional moments, making it an easy and enjoyable read.

Ivy and Miles are both intelligent, ambitious, strong-minded people who are used to fighting for what they want—and naturally, that makes it extremely difficult for either of them to back down. Their arguments and disagreements were some of my favourite scenes because underneath all that irritation, you can feel the attraction simmering.
And the tension is TENSIONING!
The pacing worked well for me too. The story kept moving, and there was enough humour, conflict, romance, and emotional development to keep me invested. I also really enjoyed the overall tone of the book. It has that perfect combination of romantic tension, witty exchanges, rivalry, and emotional moments, making it an easy and enjoyable read.

Enemies to Lawyers was super cute! It kept my interest the entire time, and I flew through it. I’m a sucker for a fake-dating trope, and adding in the workplace dynamic made it even better.
I really liked Ivy, and I especially loved getting to see the softer side of Miles as the story went on. Their chemistry worked for me, and I thought the pacing of their relationship felt surprisingly realistic. Even though this is technically enemies-to-lovers, it becomes pretty obvious early on that they aren’t truly enemies, which I actually liked. The tension and buildup still worked, and the romance definitely paid off.
My biggest issue was with the family dynamics, especially everything involving Miles’s dad. That storyline felt a little thrown in and almost too convenient as an explanation for how Miles was able to advance in law so quickly because his dad is a judge. I would have liked to see that relationship—and really the family relationships in general—developed more.
The ending also felt a little rushed. The time jump was sudden, and I think I would have liked a little more time with the characters before jumping ahead.
Overall, though, this was such a fun read. It made me laugh, swoon, get frustrated, and stay invested the whole way through. Definitely one I’d recommend, especially for younger romance readers who love fake dating, workplace romance, and enemies-to-lovers!

I went into this thinking it was going to be a pretty straightforward enemies to lovers workplace romance. Then I stayed up way too late and read half of it in one sitting, so goes to show what I know.
Ivy and Miles have been rivals for the better part of a decade, but they’re going up against Ivy’s ex-boyfriend in a big class action suit, and decide to fake date to throw him off his game. There’s so much history and tension here, between Ivy and Miles, between Ivy and her ex, heck, even between Miles and the ex. And while there are plenty of fake dating antics along the way, this was a much slower burn overall than I expected.

Enemies to Lawyers is the perfect rom-com book! I loved seeing all the classic tropes of early 2000s rom-coms while still maintain a unique plot with the law aspects and internal character conflicts.
These characters aren’t perfect, but they work so well with the plot that in the end you’re just rooting for them. Ivy constantly dealing with misogyny but never letting it become the norm and always fighting for herself. I think when she says this quote, it says a lot about her: “For once, I don’t feel like an instrument or part of a deal. I’m just a pretty girl in a dress.”
Miles having a bad reputation because he was raised to believe emotions equate to weakness but willing to risk it all for what’s right. You can’t help but to root for them both.
The only reason it’s not a 5 star is because the writing felt like it jumped around a lot. The timeline was a little complicated to understand and the transitions between chapters were a bit abrupt and hard to follow.
Overall, really enjoyed it and hooked me from the beginning I finished it in a day!

I'm shocked they were able to get any work done because the two of them seemed to be one argument from ripping each others clothes off for most of the book. It really highlights that both of them were actually really good lawyers, able to do their jobs regardless of who they're dealing with.
Finding out just how long Miles had been pining for Ivy was just the cherry on top. Love a man who falls first and falls harder.
In the end, they both found what they needed, someone to push them to be their best self.

I enjoyed this book a lot from beginning to the end. When her ex got up and left right after graduating law schools without trying to workout a way for them to keep their relationship Ivy was heartbroken she survived law school and now she is stuck in family law watching couples fight over coffee tables and couches, this was not how her career was supposed to go she always thought she will be fighting for the good guys making a difference in the world. So when Miles Montrose gives her an opportunity she was interested but she knows him well enough there has to be something else he was her ex biggest nemesis he hated him and she just followed suit. And she was right the opposing consul was no one but her ex. Miles suggested fake dating to throw her ex of balance and help them win the case… or that’s what he told her. The long nights the fights and all the time they spend together brings all the feelings out….

I just loved the dynamic of these characters in this classic enemies to lovers trope with a hint of Legally Blonde. Ivy is sick of working in family court, but as a woman, she often feels underestimated and overlooked for other positions in the firm. When her enemy, Miles, asks her to help him co-counsel his next big civil case, she agrees. But Miles has ulterior motives: part of his strategy is to include her in this case just to mess with her lawyer ex that's working on the other side. His plan involves faking a relationship to get under her ex's skin and improve his chances of winning.

Honestly, I requested this one because the cover showed off some serious potential chemistry. Well, that and I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers! I really enjoyed Ivy and Miles’ banter. It was chemistry galore every time these two were together! And The sexual tension...wooo! I don’t even want to mention any specific scenes because I think everyone should get to experience this book knowing only the basic gist of the plot. This book was so funny that I had to refrain from highlighting every page. I convinced my friend, who is traumatized after taking the bar, to read it based on two quotes alone.
The chemistry between Ivy and Miles was palpable from the first chapter, and it never wavered. I'm a sucker for the “she hates him and he's obsessed with her” trope. It was so refreshing to read a female main character who makes no apologies for who she is—one who is confident in her own intelligence and talent and doesn't shrink her ambition. Miles is SUCH a little shit, but he's also Ivy's biggest cheerleader.
I also loved that the class action lawsuit Ivy and Miles were co-counsel on never faded into the background. It was a truly important case involving privacy law and people's autonomy.
Now off to read Letizia Lorini's backlog!

I also like how the themes in the story, such as the data selling and downfalls related to that, are things that COULD and I’m sure have happened in real life - something to think about with the world and technology today. Ivy and Miles had incredible chemistry, and I loved watching their rivalry slowly turn into something deeper. The legal case added an unexpected layer that kept me invested, while all the rom-com movie references and clever chapter titles were the cherry on top. A smart, funny, swoony romance with plenty of heart. Definitely one of my favorite reads! This was my first Lorini book, and it definitely won’t be my last! I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

She faced sexism, condescension, and criticism in a world where women are supposed to be quiet and accept their situation. I throughly enjoyed reading about her and miles as he showed utmost love and care for her. He got to know her for who she was and what made her feel loved and happy. This story was definitely a rom com, but the legal case was interesting to read about as well. Ivy knew right from wrong and got to know her clients on a personal level and defended them with love for her job.

Man this one was just so good - I had a fabulous time from start to finish. As an attorney, I knew this could go one of two ways for me. I was worried that I would get wrapped up in any inconsistencies with how the legal field actually is (especially as a civil litigator) but I instead loved every single second and felt seen in certain aspects in ways I wasn't expecting. It has this young female litigator's stamp of approval for sure.
