I hate that I'm DNFing, and may revisit this in the future. I'm feeling incredibly disconnected from the leads, especially with a spicy scene following a character death and funeral starting off the book. It made me feel so off kilter from characters I love, and as hard as I'm trying, I just can't find my connection to them. They all feel like shells of who they were and I don't know if it's me, or if this final book just isn't hitting.

Either way, I adored the first two books, and don't want to end up disliking this one. So I'm DNFing for now.

For me, this will always be a six-star series. As soon as I listened to Phixmery, I had to pick up Vathia and then (im)patiently wait for Maleen, where I was honoured to be picked as an ARC reader!

I don’t want to say too much, as this is the third in the series, and you definitely need to read the first two in advance, but this does not disappoint! The exciting and phenomenal conclusion to the series was everything I could have wished for and more! Rav is a fantastic warrior princess with her fated mates who would tear apart the world just for her. Nero is my favourite, and if I could give him a severed eyeball, I would!

I will 1000% be picking up other books by S.E. Alexander, as her stories are captivating, and I cannot wait to see what happens with a certain couple of side characters and what will happen in their story!

Fantasy is my favorite reading genre, and—when done right—the amnesia trope is one I really enjoy. So, reading this series was a no-brainer. First, I’d like to thank S.E. Alexander and her team for the opportunity to receive an ARC of this wonderful final book that wraps up the saga.
Diving into the story (and without spoilers), I also want to highlight S.E. Alexander’s knack for planting clues in earlier books without making them obvious. You know that meme with the monster waving the Jell-O right in your face? That’s what many moments feel like. In fact, I had to go back and re-read the previous two books to have that "oh shit, right, there it is" moment. It officially comes out in two days, and if you’re like me and enjoy piecing the puzzle together, I recommend you start re-reading now. Congratulations on concluding a series filled with moments of happiness, sadness, passion, tension, and so on—you get the idea. Nero, the great collector of eye-gems, will always hold a special place in my heart. Goodbye for now; I’ll see you in future books :)

I have been waiting for Maleen since the second I finished Vathia, and S.E. Alexander absolutely delivered with this ending.

One of my favorite things about this entire series has been watching Ravina grow into herself while also watching her relationships with her mates deepen. By the time we get to Maleen, I was SO invested in this entire group that I needed them to get the ending they deserved.

And this book gave me so much of what I wanted.

We finally get answers to things that have been building since Phixmery, more of the world and its magic, the dragons, the Soul Stone, the corrupt Lords, and all of the pieces that have slowly been coming together across the series. There is a LOT happening, but the relationships and found family are still such a huge part of the story, which is what made me fall in love with these characters in the first place.

I also really loved getting to see how far Ravina has come. The woman in Maleen feels like the culmination of everything she has survived and learned throughout these three books, and I loved seeing her surrounded by people who genuinely love her while she becomes the person she was always capable of being.

Also, DRAGONS. Give me the dragons. Always.

After the emotional damage S.E. Alexander inflicted on me with Vathia, I had some very specific expectations for this book, and I am incredibly happy with where she took the story. I needed to see things unpack between her and Tal and her and Killian. I loved how Jesper and Aemon supported her while she was working with the other two to sort out their feelings. The journey they made through the forest was wild. I loved how the scene unfolded there. As always, the best character in this series is Nero.

If you've already read Phixmery and Vathia, obviously you're picking this one up. You cannot live with that Vathia ending forever. 😂

If you haven't started the Damorleia Chronicles yet and you like fantasy romance, why choose, fated mates, dragons, magic, found family, strong FMCs, morally gray men, and a series you can binge from beginning to end now, start with Phixmery.

I genuinely had such a good time with this entire series, and Maleen was the ending I was hoping these characters would get. ❤️

I am filled with such a mix of emotions, mostly joy, at the end of this book. I’ve been living with Ravina and Nero in my life for over a year, and the Damorleia Chronicles will always hold a special place in my heart just because it was one of the first books I ever had the honor of reading as an ARC. I joined the author’s team, and made fast friends, all of the in love with the men and me just gaga for Nero. I absolutely loved watching Ravina, and the other characters grow through all three books.

Maleen is the perfect capstone of this trilogy, surpassing my expectations. In some ways it was the ending I expected and in other ways I am surprised. It is by far my favorite and I think each of the characters’ individual personalities shine brightly–which is really saying something if you know how many characters and plot-points are in these pages. I am truly impressed and already told the author I hope for a spinoff book about one particular character! (If you already read it, then you know who, but I’m not leaving any spoilers!)

I honestly was wondering how on earth it would all come together. I honestly couldn’t imagine an ending that tied it all up but didn’t leave me shattered. Somehow Maleen achieved the impossible. There are highs, lows, a lot of change (and soooo much spice. you spicy readers need some ice packs!), but the ending didn’t crash land like a trauma. This story closed out in a way that does justice to the lives within it, and still offers that satisfaction we want from a fairy tale romance. Just with more eyeballs. And dragons. And more men than we can juggle.

I 100% recommend this book, and it’s the best of the trilogy too, but please do yourself a favor and read them from the beginning. There are so many layers of detail in Maleen, and some bring you all the way back to the opening pages of Phixmery. We’ve truly come full circle and entered a new future with Ravina.

I cannot believe we are at the point of finishing this series.
I've loved it from the very first book.
So obviously this is romance and fantasy. I do think there is a good split between the two. Romance wise, the fmc has a "buffet of men" as Nero says in the book. So romance and spice were definitely there. Definitely hot! I actually think the fated mates, bonds and mentally speaking to each other were all things I loved about the romance. The males were both funny and swoony and I had a great time reading about them with Ravina. Ravina was a great character who came into her self quite beautifully when you think about where she started at from book 1.
The fantasy was probably my favorite, just a tad over the romance. I love a good fantasy. Add in the training, the battles, the action and I can't stop reading. I really do love it so much.
Having read the previous books, I did wonder how the plot was going to go and she did such an amazing job on it. The way it was written was not what I was expecting and I was impressed.
And there is Nero and Vasari. I don't think I've ever wanted a familiar and a dragon so bad. They are both wonderful companions to Ravina. The banter between the two is hilarious and I do think it added flavor to the story. I had so much fun with it.

Needless to say at this point, but I loved it. I'm a little sad this is wrapped up but I really did enjoy it. I love the writing style and I can't wait to see what else comes from this author.

*Thank you so much to S.E. Alexander for giving me the opportunity to arc read for you. I am forever grateful that I get to do this for fun.
It probably doesn't need to be said, but all my opinions are my own genuine feelings towards this book.

Thank you S.E. Alexander for the ARC! All opinions are completely my own and aren’t influenced by anything other than the book itself.‼️

This series has been such a journey, and Maleen was the peak of the battle and such a satisfying conclusion to this incredible trilogy. The characters aren’t perfect, and that’s one of the things I’ve loved most about them. Ravina is strong-headed, driven by both love and revenge, and she holds her found family incredibly close, willing to do anything to protect the people and realm she loves.

I especially loved seeing how Ravina picked up little quirks and traits from each of her love interests while still remaining completely her own character. The trauma and fear she started with slowly became wit and leadership from Aemon, strength and tenacity from Killian, unhinged and stabby tendencies from Jesper, and the ability to overcome her scars and use her trauma as a source of strength from Talyn. It made her character development feel so natural throughout the series.

The pacing was one of my favourite things about this book. It moved quickly and kept me completely engaged, and I absolutely loved the found family dynamic. It’s easily one of the strongest elements of the series, alongside the morally grey characters who aren’t simply good or evil —they exist somewhere in between, and I loved that.

The build-up and tension during the battles had me skipping pages just to get to the end because I needed to know what happened. This was such a satisfying ending to Ravina’s story, and I’m genuinely excited to see what S.E. Alexander writes next!

ARC Review!

First of all… this book is SPICY. Like, extremely spicy. 😂🔥 Definitely the spiciest installment of the series!

For some reason, I went into Maleen thinking The Damorleia Chronicles was going to be a five-book series, so I was genuinely surprised to realize this was the finale. I absolutely loved everything leading up to the final battle. The Nairiden Woods and the witch scenes were easily some of my favourite parts of the entire book. I loved getting to explore more of the world, its magic, and everything surrounding these characters.

There were a few moments where I really wished the story had slowed down and let us stay in them a little longer. The ball especially! I would have loved more time there rather than moving through it so quickly. The same goes for the final battle. With everything the series had been building toward, the battle felt rushed to me, and I wanted a little more time for the tension, action, and payoff to really sink in.

That said, I loved the journey getting there and seeing everything finally come together for Ravina and her chosen and fated family. ❤️

And knowing that this world isn't completely over makes saying goodbye a LOT easier. I'm already so excited for the upcoming spin-off, especially because there is so much left to explore with Cynder. Her being royal opens up so many possibilities, and I'm really interested to see how that plays into her story and whatever chaos is waiting for her. 👀

Overall, Maleen was a fun, VERY spicy conclusion to the Damorleia Chronicles. I just wish the ending had been given a little more room to breathe because I wasn't ready to leave this world yet!

I could not put this book down! I was so excited when I found out I got this ARC. This was the final book in this awesome trilogy and man what an ending. Ravina was an awesome FMC and her guys were so great, plus Nero and Vasari cracked me up, I loved them all! This was such a good book and I got the answers to questions that I’ve has from the other books. There was so much action, banter, spice, and more, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I am so sad to be finished with this series, cause I’m going to miss these characters but I’m glad things worked out in the end, even if it wasn’t always easy. I also loved the found family aspect of this trilogy so much, Ember, Roz, Lennox, and Mel were so awesome. I can not recommend this series enough, this is a must read, between the dragons, eye obsessed familiars (Nero, I love you), the fated mates, scorching spice, found family, battles, and more I could not get enough! So, stop what your doing and go read this series, you won’t regret it!

Thank you to the author for a gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Maleen is the third and final installment of The Damorleia Chronicles and it did not disappoint. We get to continue the journey with Ravina, her friends, her mates, and of course her sassy sidekick Nero. The stakes are even higher, their lives are on the line, danger is still lurking, and war is inevitable. It is bittersweet to see this series come to a close, but I’ve loved the entire journey. The world building continues to be immersive, and there are layers of the story that intertwine and give everything more depth and development. Everything is finally revealed and those lingering questions answered. Overall, I loved this series and I think the final installment wraps up nicely.

If you love why choose fantasy romance, reverse harem, fated mates, hidden royalty, sassy raven familiar, slow burn, dragon riders, and military academy, then I recommend checking out this series.

DNF at 29%

I received an ARC of this book, and I absolutely hate that I haven’t finished it. However, I was really struggling to feel connected to the characters. I had just done a reread of the first 2 books in preparation for Maleen, and unfortunately there was just a big disconnect that happened for me.

I love Ravina and her men, and I’m happy that she’s growing her relationship with Killian, because they both deserve to be happy. Unfortunately everyone and everything was feeling a little bit flat for me, like one-dimensional instead of the fleshed out people and situations they could be.

Thanks you S.E. Alexander for picking me to get an ARC, and for putting so much effort into your world crafting and book writing!

I hope to revisit this at a later point in time, maybe when life isn’t so crazy and I can just sit down and reinvest in this world.

Maleen by S.E. Alexander ARC review!
Thanks for sending me a copy early to finish off this series ❤️

It took me awhile to get back into the story (no idea why I rated the other two 4 ⭐️) and I did reread Phixmery to help review characters/relationships as well.

I’m glad Nero was still great comic relief “How was eating at the buffet?” ☠️

Great ending 🔪 to one of the female characters RIP (NOT).

Story really picked up around the 80% mark and it was like woo! buckle in after that. Had me tearing up with some “surprise” visits.

Overall, I enjoyed the book but it did feel drawn out and there were some adventures in there that I didn’t feel were needed or added to the story/character development in general.

ARC review:

I thought this book was fantastic. Thank you so much to S.E. Alexander and her team for an arc. This book was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. I loved seeing how each of the boys came together and used their strengths with Ravina. I loved how they had to rely on one another and trust one another. I thought the pacing was fantastic. It was such an easy flow. You look back on the other books and notice little almost Easter eggs that you probably didn’t notice before and they show up beautifully in this last book. Overall I loved this trilogy. I highly recommend reading anything that this author puts out! Now everyone go read it!!

Its bittersweet for me that Ravina's story is over, because I will miss them. However, I wasn't disappointed with the ending! The author does a fantastic job wrapping up their story!
This book was filled with adventure, action, suspense, lots of feelings, and lots of spice.

I continued to love Ravina and each of her men. I cant forget Nero and Vasari either. We definitely get some humor there. 😉
Ravina was such a strong character. She also had a big heart and love for those she cared about. I was also happy to see her growth throughout.
This was definitely an excellent trilogy all together!

I am forever grateful to S.E Alexander for accepting and letting me be on her street team. This series was soooo good! Especially with an unhinged, eyeball obsessed raven! Such a great conclusion to the series! I loved how everything came together while still keeping the fantasy, danger, romance, and twists that kept me invested throughout. The chosen-family aspect was one of my favorite parts, and the mix of dragons, magic, hidden royalty, and why-choose romance made this such a fun read. Definitely bittersweet to see the series end, but I really enjoyed how everything wrapped up!

This was a fab conclusion to the series and I absolutely loved seeing Ravina grow into quite the warrior princess with her mates. This book brings together all the clues that were woven throughout the series and I love that we get all those threads resolved. Expect to get caught up in the action, drama, danger, huge twists and all the hot spice as they work their way to a fab HEA. I really like that the author sprinkled humour throughout to help balance out the darker notes in this story. Definitely a page turner and I recommend :D

I wasn't as hooked for this story compared to the other 2 books probably cause its been a while since I've read the others but I enjoyed being back in this world with Ravina and the guys and of course Nero!

I feel like Craven's situation could've been drawn out a bit more. It was way too easy for him. Ravina at the end really said NAP TIME but honestly same.

Can't wait to see what else S.E has in store!!

Rating is 4.5 stars

I freaking love this trilogy with all my heart. This book was a satisfying book to end this series and I wished there were more. I thought that the pacing was good, not rushed or anything but there were parts that I wished were more fleshed out. I was really interested in Maleen, wished we had more of it. I wanted more time with the FMC and her last mate. But overall, story is really great. Please write more fantasy like this!! <3

3.5 🌟

I'm torn about this series, I absolutely loved the first book and have it 5 🌟, however, I did not enjoy the second, which I think has impacted upon my enjoyment of this. The third book is definitely an improvement on the second but I still had trouble engaging with the characters as much as I had in the first. Overall probably 4 🌟 for the series but it's definitely not one I'll be thinking about in years to come.

Epic conclusion to the The Damorleia Chronicles trilogy. I, like many, was aghast when I finished book two only to realise there was no book three yet… thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long to enjoy the final instalment in this series. If you’re a fan of fae, dragons and eyeball obsessed ravens this is the adventure for you.

One of my absolute favorite fantasy series that I’ve read in the last year. The dragons, Nero the eyeball obsessed familiar, and the rest of the crew create such a wonderful found family. Having a series you've enjoyed so much end is such a bittersweet moment.
It was hard to start reading because I really didn't want it to end.
But in the end I really enjoyed everything we got, I felt a bit disconnected at times from the characters but it was a good book and a good ending for such a fantastic trilogy.

a nice ending

I liked the trilogy enough to want to finish but I did get into the habit of zoning off in some parts of the story. I adore Kill and the others, they all had their own little quirks. Some drama I’m too old for but I glanced over those. Sex scenes were hot and it always made me laugh with how sexy they were in a fantasy book.

Overall a nice experience.

It wasn't the best book I've ever read but is also wasn't the worst book I've ever read. It just ended way too quickly I guess? I would love to get to know more about the world instead of every chapter beggining with how the FMC wakes up and rolls in bed. And the final battle was kinda boring, I expected much more.
