You don’t have to let anxiety be the loudest voice in your life. Freedom is possible, and it starts here.

Anxiety is noisy. It fills your mind with questions, worst-case scenarios, and a constant sense that something isn’t right. And for so many, it’s happening subtly, behind busy schedules, leadership responsibilities, and the pressure to hold it all together.

In What Anxiety Doesn’t Know, licensed therapist Kelli Bachara meets you in that exact place, not with quick fixes or surface-level encouragement, but with clarity, compassion, and truth that actually changes how you live.

Blending psychological insight, biblical truth, video-based teaching, and evidence-informed practices, Kelli offers a deeply integrated approach to understanding anxiety from the inside out. As you engage the process, you’ll begin to see what’s actually happening in your mind and body when anxiety takes over and discover how to respond in a way that leads to lasting change.

In this book, you will learn how

recognize and interrupt the thought patterns shaping your liferetrain your nervous system to experience peace in the presentseparate your identity from your anxious thoughts, sensations, and beliefsdiscern the difference between anxiety and God’s voice in the moments of overwhelm

This is such a special book, and it’s so much more than just a nonfiction book about anxiety. It’s really an invitation to shine the light of Jesus on anxiety's darkness. Personally, I think this is a book the Christian community needs.

The premise of the book is that there are things anxiety doesn't know: it doesn't know how God designed you, it doesn't know what's true, and it doesn't know what you're capable of (to name a few).

And in each chapter, the author does four things: she explains the psychology of anxiety, examines it through a biblical lens, challenges readers to reflect on their own experiences, and describes evidence-based disciplines.

There are many Scripture references, charts and tables, reflection questions, and my favourite, written prayers at the end. The back of the book includes a list of the things anxiety doesn't know, additional book resources, and several Bible verses for anxiety. Plus, there are discussion questions and writing space for the video series (which I haven't seen).

One thing I really appreciated was the author's personal reflections and vulnerability in sharing her own experience with anxiety. My neck started to hurt from all the nodding along I was doing!

To be honest, I can't wait until this is published. I plan on buying a copy as soon as it's released, so I can highlight and mark up a hard copy and answer the questions one at a time. If used thoughtfully, honestly, and prayerfully, this would be an excellent study for someone struggling with anxiety.

Overall, I found this to be a practical resource saturated in Scripture. I would highly recommend it to anyone who struggles with anxiety, as well as anyone who works with or counsels anxious people. This would also be a great resource for a counselor and client to work through together.

I am so glad this is being published! I didn't know my heart needed this book until I read it.

A big, big thank you to NetGalley and Tyndale House Publishers for the advanced review copy.
