For three years, Cecilia St. May has been hiding from her life.

After cancer, loss, and heartbreak changed everything, CeeCee retreated into the only world that still made sense: online gaming. Inside her virtual universe, she’s fearless. She’s a hero. A leader. A warrior capable of saving humanity from zombie invasions and alien armies.

In real life?

She hasn’t been on a date in years.

She rarely leaves her house.

And she’s slowly forgetting what it feels like to truly live.

The only person who has never given up on her is Ashton—her best friend since childhood, her constant source of support, and the one person who always manages to pull her back to reality.

Until he stops trying.

When Ashton finally decides he’s done watching CeeCee hide from the life she deserves, she’s forced to face a truth she’s spent years avoiding: she’s not just losing her best friend.

She might be losing the love of her life.

To win Ashton back, CeeCee will have to step outside the safety of her virtual world and fight for something far more terrifying than any digital enemy.

Herself.

Heartfelt, funny, and deeply hopeful, Single Player is a charming friends-to-lovers romance about second chances, found courage, and discovering that the most important quest is learning how to live again.

Perfect for readers who love emotional romance, quirky heroines, gaming culture, and stories of resilience and healing.

Hi, I’m Jamie!

I write contemporary romances about messy lives, second chances, unexpected adventures, and the brave (and sometimes ridiculous) things people do in the name of love.

Before becoming a nonprofit operations leader, I spent several years working as a flight attendant, collecting enough stories and interesting characters to inspire a lifetime of books. Today I live in North Florida with my husband, three children, and a constantly growing list of story ideas that refuse to leave me alone.

My books tend to feature resilient women finding their way through heartbreak, loss, friendship, healing, and new beginnings—with plenty of humor and hope along the way. If you enjoy quirky characters, emotional growth, found family, witty dialogue, and romances that leave you smiling, you’re in the right place.

I’m currently working on my next novel and am always grateful for readers who take a chance on an indie author. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for supporting stories that celebrate love, resilience, and the beautiful unpredictability of life.
