Her father was the professional baseball player Maurice Lennon "Dick" Burrus, she has two sisters, Mary and Sarah Burrus.
Dixie is an artist and romance writer. She began writting contemporany romance novels as Zoe Dozier, now she writes her contemporary romances with her married name, Dixie Browning, and historical romances with her sister, Mary Burrus Williams as Brownwyn Williams, one combination of their married names. She has been awarded a Romance Writers of America RITA Award, and been a five-time RITA finalist. She has also won three Maggies, and numerous awards from the National Federation of Press Women and the NC Press Club.

Kind of sweet but mostly average. Also, I’m really not a fan of the abusive husband plot cliche, so...yeah.
Nothing stood out about this one, so I’m not sure if it’s a re-read ever. We’ll see.

La historia no ha estado mal, el hecho de que no le dé las 4 stars tiene más que ver con mis gustos personales que con la historia en sí.
Un poco de insta-lust al principio de la misma, pero que después “se olvida” o al menos no marca el carácter del libro (de agradecer), y sobre todo, lo que menos me ha gustado ha sido el trío de personajes protagonistas, se ha alargado demasiado y me ha parecido cansino. Llegó un punto en el que no veía avanzar la historia, aunque pasado ese punto de nuevo arranca y engancha otra vez.
Con lo cual, no ha estado mal aunque podría haber estado mejor, entretenida y si no tienes problemas con los este libro te puede encantar. Yo he echado de menos un poco más de romance ya con el “ambiente limpio”.

I kept waiting for the romance to happen. And then the book ended and I was still waiting for romance to happen, this is how I experienced this book. Compared to The Paper Marriage, this one didn't end as abruptly. But I couldn't connect to the characters, not really. And the chemistry between the leads was missing.

La protagonista es un personaje muy fuerte, además ha pasado una vida difícil pero siempre trata de salir adelante y a pesar de todo siempre tiene sueños y no es hasta que aparece Jonah que estos se van haciendo realidad poco a poco.

All in all, this was a good book. I thoroughly enjoyed 2/3 of it, but was somewhat disappointed by the last part. Still, I'm planning to read more books by this author duo.
