Jessica Gadziala lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
Seriously, Jessica Gadziala only writes amazing, action-packed, and exciting romances. I love MC outlaw biker romances, and this series is just perfect.
Rune is a great MC member, but he was raised by Henchmen MC bikers, men who operate by rules and honor. I miss the old members, but the next generation is just as crazy, amazing, and, above all, smart and professional.
One thing they share with their fathers is the way they met their women. It always involves plenty of drama and violence. It just has to be that way. It’s a tradition 🤷🏻♀️😂 Without a huge spectacle and brutal events, nothing ever happens. Then again, perhaps the rough, brutal world they grew up in requires this kind of trial to find the right woman.
Our heroine is, of course, stubborn and independent, convinced she has to handle everything on her own. She’s tough as nails, yet soft and cuddly at heart. Ok, no more spoilers 🤐
I love this book. I need more, even though this is the 16th book in the series. I’ll never get enough.
For anyone who loves a raw, brutal, and dramatic stories, this is the MC outlaw biker romance for you.
'I wanted a hundred more nights exactly like it. Even if I knew the clock was likely already ticking down. And, eventually, I’d be back in my own bed. Alone.'
I have been reading the Henchmen series for 10 years now(I think) so I am probably a lil biased. I love seeong the kids all grown amd having some of the parents traits.
This book was fast paced, exciting, and a quick, short read. That is the only thing I wish these books would have is about 100 more pages. But for a 250ish page book you get the lol moments, action-ish shoot outs and drama, some spice, and the sweetest epilogues.
Overall this was good and ofc I will be continuing on the series as it comes.
Rune is one of the sensible ones who makes sure his brothers (both blood and club) don’t mess up too badly or leave the clubhouse in utter disarray after one of their many, many parties. But the parties and the club girls aren’t exciting any more. So when a gorgeous but nervous hottie comes into the clubhouse, asks his name and then pulls a gun on him, things get very interesting. Cue a few more attempts on his life AND hers, and wow, what a story this is!
Carmen has spent the past year looking for the biker who killed her best friend in cold blood. When her sources told her it was a Henchman named Rune, she buys herself a piece and summons the courage to get justice for her friend. But what actually happens is truly the last thing she expects. It was certainly the last thing I expected, but this story is further evidence of the brilliance and unpredictability that Jessica Gadziala’s mind creates.
This was a fun story! Loved getting to know Rune more since he's been a bit of a mystery. He & Carmen have an instant bond, of sorts, even if it's because she literally tried to off him. 😂
I loved Carmen, Sofia, Hamster, & Chet, the family & found family in their lil duplex. 💚 And the interactions with Rune & Sofia were great! They also have a nice, brother-sister, bond right away. And when crap hits the fan & they have to hide out for a bit, Rune makes sure Sofia, Chet, & Hammy are also safe!
It's always fabulous to see the family & club interactions, too. 💙💙💙
Rune is a quiet punch to the heart. He’s a man built from shadows — guarded, observant, and shaped by a past that taught him survival over connection. Watching him slowly let someone in is the real thrill of this book.
The romance is intimate and patient, a slow burn that pays off because every step Rune takes toward vulnerability feels earned. The heroine’s steady warmth is the perfect counterbalance to his silence, and their chemistry grows in those small, powerful moments Gadziala writes so well.
Loved the characters, Carmen terrified yet determined, Rune a man who is haunted by the past and the connection between them. All the best parts of any Navesink Bank story - both found and blood family, history, friends, pets, suspense, Dezi eating sweets and a big love that grabs hold and doesn't let go.
Rune and Carmen are so good together. I do love Rune and how he is with Carmen, but I also really enjoy Carmen and how she is with Rune and his "family". Another hit for the Henchmen MC Next Gen series.
I’ve been waiting for at least one of the twins’ books since they’ve returned to town. This was really good and I love how the plot in some ways reflected his parent’s story (Roderick & Liv)
Rune is book number 16 in the Henchmen MC Next Generation series by Jessica Gadziala. This is Rune and Carmen’s book.
Rune and Carmen are so sweet together. Even though she meets him thinking he’s guilty of a crime he didn’t commit, it is like she immediately knows he’s a good guy and isn’t going to hurt her.
Rune is sweet and especially protective of his twin brother Croft and younger brother Vas who are prospecting the Club. He transfers that protectiveness towards Carmen and her sister Sofia almost right away, especially when it becomes obvious they’re in danger.
Carmen is used to taking care of her sister and always being responsible. She’s busy working all the time and never sits back and enjoys life.
We learn a little bit about where Rune and Croft were those missing years; however, I still have questions and hopefully we’ll learn more in Croft’s book. The way the events transpire, no one is sure who the danger is directed at, so I liked trying to figure this out as they did. I also enjoyed getting to see their parents Roderick and Livvy as well as some of the other OG members. I liked getting to know Spike too.
I love all of the Henchmen characters that Jessica has created and can’t wait to see who gets a book next.
I loved Rune and Carmen's relationship. I love how it started as a HUGE mistake and led to something to entirely sweet.
Carmen is a care giver through and through. She loves her sister and will do anything to make sure she has the life she dreams of. She is also someone who will go to hell and back for those she loves which is why she found herself in the position she did. Sweet but fiercely protective. A woman with walls up high.
Rune was everything I expected him to be. Protective, loyal and sweet. He was logical, curious.. even at his own expense and oh boy was he determined. Literally no notes. He was perfection.
I loved them and their unconventional start. Despite the immediate distrust and fear they grew to be so sweet. It felt like they just got one another in a way no one else did. They had this tension around them that pulsed like a live wire ready to spark. The chemistry is INTENSE but the emotion... man that real raw vulnerability between really is something special. I also love just how sweet ruin was with Sofia!. There is nothing like a man who treats your family like his own.
As per we get a peak at old faces as well as some new. There's lots of laughter, swooning and moments of frustration. True to Jessie's form I felt everything and enjoyed the ride. Seeing the OGs are always a special time! I cannot wait for the next although I must admit I would really love some princess action!.
