Sisters of Nantucket

Rate this book
For fifteen years, the Holloway sisters have stayed away from Nantucket... and each other. Their mother's letter is about to change everything.

Holloway's Lobster Shack has been a Nantucket staple for 40 years. It's where the sisters learned to crack lobsters with their dad, where they waited tables every summer, and the last piece of him they have left. Now their mother Eleanor has a deal on the table from developers who want to tear it down and build luxury condos. If she sells, every penny goes to their stepfather Richard, the man whose arrival fifteen years ago splintered their once-close family.

But Eleanor has one other option. She'll give the restaurant to her daughters, but only if all three come home and run it together for the summer.

Meredith, the oldest, hasn't told her family she walked away from her Boston law career after discovering her husband's affair. June's perfectly curated life as a Nantucket gallery owner is hiding a growing scandal that could ruin everything she's built. And Sophie, the youngest, is flying in from LA with a secret that will shock them all.

But as the sisters settle back into their childhood beach house, they realize something is wrong with their mother. Her hands shake when she thinks no one's watching. She forgets conversations from hours ago. And her determination to bring her daughters home feels like it's about something much deeper than just the restaurant.

Between Richard's growing control over their mother, mysterious problems at the shack, and the weight of losing their father all those years ago, the Holloway sisters have one summer to save their family's legacy.

One crumbling lobster shack. Three sisters with enough secrets to fill the harbor. And a family that might just find its way back to each other, if the truth doesn't sink them first.

This contemporary small-town women's fiction, clean and wholesome, second-chance, starting-over summer read/beach read romance is page-turning, with exceptional world-building in Nantucket, where the sunrises and sunsets are majestically painted across the sky in vibrant hues. Their journey is enthralling with chaos/family drama, divorce, starting over, mysterious problems at the shack, one crumbling lobster shack, three sisters with enough secrets to fill the harbor, a family that just might find its way back to each other; if the truth doesn't sink them first, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with the Sisters of Nantucket, and a contemporary small-town women's fiction, clean and wholesome, second-chance, starting-over summer read/beach read romance that is sure to transport readers into a world that is immensely mysterious, emotional, intriguing, and unforgettable.

“Sisters of Nantucket book 1” by Sage Parker

-This is the first book in a new series and should be read in order. Three sisters return home after years of division caused by family conflict, a toxic stepfather, and long-buried secrets. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Their mother hopes to bring the family back together, but old wounds, hidden truths, and the struggle to save the family business make that difficult. Each sister carries her own pain, and surprising discoveries begin to change everything.

Set around a crumbling lobster shack on Nantucket, this story focuses on rebuilding relationships, uncovering family secrets, and finding hope for the future. A possible new romance adds another layer to the story.

An emotional family drama filled with secrets, sisterhood, and second chances that leaves plenty of questions to be answered in the next books.

My spidey senses are tingling with this new series and I am loving it so far. Three sisters who had a falling out years ago are reunited when their mother announces that she is selling their father’s lobster shack and the girls unite in their attempt to not sell and begin their own quest to keep the shack and open it themselves. There are some shady characters along the way and we find out a tiny little detail about their father which could potentially blow their world apart. I know this is going to be another great series from Sage Parker and I am so excited for this new journey.

Sisters of Nantucket is book one in the new series by Sage Parker.
Three sisters Sophie, Meredith and June have not been close for many years and are brought back together. The family restaurant is what brings them back together. The mother thinks it is best to sell the place but the sisters dislike that idea. Can they work together to get the restaurant up and running again or will their own lives get in the way? I am so excited to get into this series. Sage Parker has given her readers another great start to a new series.

I can tell from this book that Sage Parker has written another great series. The drama between the three sisters is so real. When they were younger they seemed so close and now not so much. I can’t wait to read what happened to their sisterly love. The dislike of their stepfather Richard is felt throughout the pages and I know there is a story as to why they feel this way and I cannot wait to find out. Where is this series going to take us? I am excited to find out.

Great beginning of The Lobster Shack series by Sage Parker.
This is a little tough to get into but worth the time. Some remembered experiences and getting to know characters.
The possibility of selling The Shack, a third generation restaurant, brings all three sisters back to town.
The sisters have been estranged for years but this brings them back together.
There is a cliffhanger at the end of this book.

I loved how good first book in the series set us up for much to unbury. Three estranged sisters, all with secrets. A crumbling lobster shack that their mom will lose if the girls don’t come back to ruin it. And a stepfather that’s not been very kind. Not to mention. Mom’s hiding her own things. This was a really great way to get this book off the ground. And I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series.

A fantastic beach read! From book one alone, this should be a movie! Love the entertaining story line and meeting these realistic, many layered characters. This is going to be a fun and interesting family drama series with lots of real life issues to wade through. A great start to another masterfully written, wonderful story with all the feels and emotion that keeps you reading until the very end.

I love the beginning of this story with the 3 sisters. They have to work at the family restaurant to inherit, but only for the summer. They each have their secrets. This is a great start to understand them and their history.

It's a real surprise when all of the sisters show up at the same time. It was their mom's idea to spend time with her daughters. What more is to come to pass in that summer?.

I read this book as an ARC.

This is about 3 estranged sisters Meredith, June & Sophie coming back to Nantucket after not speaking for 15 years. It was a request from their mother and they were not expecting the drama. Family secrets & drama.

clever
This book is a clever start to a series since you simply want to find out how all the family conflicts, individual problems and mysterious incidents at the shack will develop.
