About the author

Gemma had a hard time figuring out what she wanted to be when she grew up. She worked as a film and television actress, a teddy bear importer, a department store administrator, a preschool teacher, a temporary tattoo artist, and a 900 number psychic, before finally selling her first book, Spying in High Heels, in 2005 and deciding to be a writer.

Since then, Gemma has written several mystery novels and been the recipient of numerous awards, including a National Reader's Choice award and three RITA nominations. Her books have hit both the USA Today and the New York Times Bestseller lists.

Gemma now makes her home in the San Francisco Bay area where she is hard at work on her next book.

As with all Gemma Halliday's books that I've read, 'Unbreakable Bond' did not disappoint. I loved it. The storyline was unique and well written. The way this story played out was surprising in the fact that the description kind of sounded silly, but turned out seriously good. You know the typical type, ex-model turned PI, gorgeous, blond and coworkers that are just as beautiful. But the cool part was that they are smart, sexy, good at what they do and can be lethal if needed. The characters were great. Jamie made a great lead. I look forward to reading more of this series. A great add to your tbr list.

'Diva Las Vegas' took me by surprise. I was hooked from the start. The storyline was unique and full of surprises. The way the story unfolded was action packed, humorous and had quite a dramatic mystery. The characters were not the typical PI based stigma, nor were they the usual rough leads. Raven was hilarious. I loved her personality. Dancer by night, PI by day. Such an odd combination, but she made it work. Carlos and Mike were complete opposites, yet they both were great characters. I loved how the author brought this story to life. Well written and a series I'll definitely follow. A great add to your tbr list.

'Limoncello Yellow' was a great read. I loved the storyline. So full of humor, drama, mystery and some very colorful characters. The way this story played out had me guessing as to who-done-it until the end. The dynamics between Franki and Veronica were great in the sense that they each brought something different to the relationship that complimented each other. I loved Franki and her reasoning between her eating habits to her love life, or lack thereof. Plus her humor was laugh out loud funny. Veronica was sensible and made a great partner. Nonna is the typical Italian grandmother that had me laughing and shaking my head at her antics. And then there's Glenda. What's not to love about her? I enjoyed her over the top personality, her choice of decorating and of course her outfits/costumes that are outrageous. I look forward to reading more of this series. A great add to your tbr list. Recommended read.

'Diva Detectives' is a great compilation of three books featuring female detectives that are strong willed and are humorous with laugh out loud personalities and scenarios. I thoroughly enjoyed the set. I loved each book. A great add to your tbr list. Highly recommended.

Can't say I was impressed with these three mysteries but over all it was good. The first "book" was more of a "long" short story.. not great but not bad. The second book was long winded...(mostly about beautiful bodies) again not great but not bad. The third book was a fun romp mystery. Really enjoyed it. Over all not a bad deal for $.99

New Orleans Sinners

Some off beat and certainly different types of characters abound in one of our more interesting cities. An intrepid heroine gets into fascinating situations and entertains the reader as she finds solutions to weighty problems.

Really liked the first and third books, but couldn't quite get into the second one. Will save it for later. Recommend.
