The zombie apocalypse was Alexis Winter's first challenge. It won't be her last.
Life on S-Island hasn’t been easy, but Alexis and her fellow survivors are making the best of their new lives in a post-Z world. Every day is a struggle, a struggle to find food, to keep the zombies from their door and to prepare for anything this new world might throw at them. There is no room for heartache, there is no room for mourning the lost, there is only one focus: the fight for survival. And there is definitely no room for love. At least that is what Alexis keeps telling herself.
The second installment in the NOLA Zombie series by Gillian Zane. Be warned, there will be monsters, living and dead, there will be very intense sexy-time and there will be a third book.

This picks up right where the previous book off, Blake gets a radio call from his ex wife and he drops everything to go and rescue her.
It’s definitely getting better as we delve into the series more. Not as much sex as the previous book with how Blake left her to go and rescue his ex wife, telling her to not wait for him because it was a suicide mission.
It took months before his best friend Zach knocked down her walls and they slowly became a couple.
But when Blake reappears unscathed with other survivors and his ex wife in tow things become muddy.
Wow, this was fast-paced and full of action, just how I like them! The romance was really good too and I couldn't help but fall in love with Zach. I'm not sure how the author will manage to develop the romance with Zach and Blake in the future... Just for a second, I felt like it was forced at the end though.
But anyway, I thought she made a great couple with Zach and I hope they'll both get an happy ending together. Also, the crazy-lazy-ex-wife is asking for her ass to be kicked, let me tell you. But Alexis is a bad-ass who can take care of herself and I love that about her. I can't say much more since a lot is happening and I don't want to spill too much spoilers. One thing is sure, if you enjoyed reading the first one "Run", read that one, you'll probably like it too.
And that cliffhanger !! I knew just by the title of the last chapter that something would happen. Now, I have to wait until September to read more of that series, I can't wait to get my hands on it! And the chemistry between the characters (Alexis and Zach) was off the charts !
PS: I know that my review is all over the place, but so are my feelings ;).
Ok I am hooked on this series and can't stop reading them........We pick up right where Blake has left and Alexis is trying to pick up the pieces. Zach [I love you so freaking much] is there for her at each and every turn and before long it is hard to deny the connection they have formed and the bond that pulls them together. I will not say that I was able to forget Blake, but Zach was the distraction that I needed to keep fighting!! I might even admit that I have a bit of a girl crush for Alexis. The shit storm that arrives at their camp towards the end leaves me all up in arms and ready for book 3.
THE BLURB does not tell you what this book's main focus is all about - sex, sex, sex, & more sex with a heavy mantra of 'I want to live with, fuck, and love two guys at the same time' while we occasionally kill a zombie or two.
Obviously, blurbs can't tell you all the details of a book, nor should they. However, there are certain 'iffy,' trigger point, and/or off color details that readers should be made aware of in a blurb so that they can make an informed decision if they want to read or not! That's just good ethics and author honesty!
Book one was blurbed like a romantic zombie flick, but was more a porno with a side of zombies! The vibrator scene along with the multitude of other sex scenes was way overboard IMHO, but the cliffhanger ending had me curious enough to read onward.
Now, here I am just finished book two, which also ends in a cliffhanger, but even my curiosity over that isn't enough to make me continue onward. I'm done with this series, and because the author wasn't honest about the content, I'll never read anything else she puts out either.
The author starts the book out fine enough with the female mc trying to get over Blake leaving and trying to move on with living vs existing. It soon becomes a repeat of book one, only Blake has been replaced as the dick doing the diddling.
The last half is basically a wish for a sister wife situation (m/f/m) all in love and living happily in Sexville.
^Its that kinda shit that I'm talking about when I say a blurb needs to be forthcoming about a book's content. What readers should know about the romance portion so that they can decide for themselves if the content is for them or not:
• The actual m/f/m deed never occurs in the book, but the hope for it and a full on polyamorous relationship is a main point of focus and discussion.
• There is a sex scene (like book one) where one guy is watching and masturbating as the other screws the MC in front of him.
• There is a scene where she is in a committed relationship with one guy and kisses another and says she would screw him if he hadn't been the one to stop things from progressing.
I have no interest in reading books with cheating, threesomes, & homosexual or polyamorous relationships as main plot points. That's just not my thing and prefer to read what is my thing!
I also prefer my zombie books... Well, to actually have zombies in them *facepalm*.
Omg i read this book in a day! It was so damn good. I'm chomping at the bit for book 3. Ahhhhh steptember! Omg what just happened! The end! Omg the freaking end. What happens?! Tell me... Please...
This series rocks. If yoy love walking dead and hot sex,get on this book! I could go on and on and on but it's much more fun if you experience yourself. Fast pace. Hot men. "Holy shit my pants" moments. It's on fleek! (if you are around the teenage youth you know what I'm talking about). I recommend this book to anyone trying to survive in a dog eat dog world, with some hot alpha males for warmth.
Gillian Zane when I read Run the first book in the Nola Zombie series it was so damn good, I had no idea how you were going to be able to top it and improve that going into book two, needless to say when I received Fight I was nervous and excited at the same time because I just love this series so much that I wanted it to be such a hit right away. Well let me just say I was not disappointed in the least! Fight was fan-freaking-tastic! I loved every damn word you smashed the hell out of that novella and I swear woman I want to pick your brain I honestly would love to find out what goes on in there and where you come up with these master pieces its BRILLIANT!!
Fight the second book in the Nola Zombie series is none other than a smashingly brilliant masterpiece from the dedicated mastermind of Gillian Zane. As a reader you feel such an amazing connection with Lex in this book, the raw emotions she is going through with the loss of Blake, its like you are there with her and going through each and every painful step the raw anguish and gut wrenching heartache, it's incredibly rare to find an author that can convey this in a novella to where the reader and characters connect and become one on the journey congratulations Mrs. Zane you knocked it out of the park on this one!
This novella has some really amazing actions sequences that catch you off guard, the attention and emphasis that Gillian adds to this area adds such a great layer of detail and makes a huge difference and sets this novella apart from so many others! This one is full of not just action but, suspense, drama and lots of it, a love triangle yes you heard me! Some new characters that you will love to hate and some HOT and Steamy sex scenes with some amazingly hot alpha males! However Gillian saves the best for last and thats the *GASP* Cliffhanger at the end and its a big one lets just say she had me screaming at my kindle and cursing her name for about five minutes or so. Im sure she is laughing at me as she reads this just wait until you read the next one and I say Bring it on Mrs. Zane, bring it on, because I for one cannot wait to see what you throw at us readers!!
If you haven't downloaded or read book two don't waste another moment it was fantastic! Add it to your TBR today!
I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.
AHHHH So when the last book ended our girl Lex was heartbroken over Blake leaving her for his ex. Zach was there to get her up and push her to live . He became her best friend and more??? But our girl is too scared to admit her feelings for him because will he leave her too???? God do I love Zach. He is sooo patient and kind and loving. After 6 months, they finally give in and boy was it a nice give in scene *Wink*
When we are finally excited about Lex and Zach and the rest of the S-Island group we begin to get some news about what is happening around the camp. It is NOT good news. The group really has to be more watchful and diligent to protect their families.
Well if you think that is all we got this installment you are soooo wrong because guess who makes it back? Yup Blake and he is not too happy to see his girl and bestie together together. However, his ex ,Clara, is not too happy to find out that Lex is the woman she is losing her man too….So now we got this drama to add to the stress of outside forces annnd let’s not forget about the zombies that are still actively around. Boy oh boy was this installment full of excitement…..Zach, Lex and Blake come up with a plan to survive together buuuut again Clara is not happy ..the ending of the book made me do a little GASP…I cannot wait for the rest of the novel.
I enjoyed this more the first time. During the reread, I had to skim to get to the end, and didn’t find it as exciting or interesting.
The story continues with Alexis, Blake, and now Zane. They, along with a growing group of survivors, are living on an island in Louisiana. The plot includes zombie kills, supply runs, fights with bad guys, everyday life, and romance—including several sex scenes. Tension rises with the arrival of Blake’s ex-wife. Lots going on, so it’s never boring.
Zombies are too unrealistic for me. They couldn't exist for months/years with decomposing bodies, and with no food or water. You have to completely suspend your disbelief, which is why I usually avoid zombie books.
Series DNF'd: The 3rd book has to do mainly with Alexis being sold into the sex trade, and her men racing against the clock to find and save her. I found it too violent and awful to read.
Hugely disappointed!! The FMC has devolved into a cheating hypocrite. 😤😡
She admits she wouldn’t tolerate current MMC with anyone else, even when she was turning him down. 🙄 Then she allows MMC from B1 to kiss her multiple times in greeting, after he makes his conquering return, only stoping him after he says something to piss her off [because its ‘HIM’, sigh, blah blah]. This after having judged him for leaving to rescue his ex. [In part I agree with her, but not if she doesn’t have to live by the same standards.]
She tops this off by making out with MMC1, even admitting to herself that she would have had sex if HE hadn’t pulled back. 🤬 MMC2 even offered to step aside if that was what she wanted. She said she wanted HIM. Then had sex with him. 🤬🤬
Not enjoying myself for large parts, and have lost all respect for the FMC. Not A Fan of MMC1 currently, and hopping MMC2 doesn’t tolerate too much more from either of them, or may not be able to continue to B3.
“You on the other hand, would go batshit if Zach started panting after some other hottie.” … “Now you’re the one being a bitch,” I grumbled. “See, it does get you all riled up, because you want to be all up in that shit.” She shrugged when I glared at her … “but at some point you’ll turn him down and it’ll be the final straw and don’t come crying to me that he doesn’t want you anymore. If you have a really good reason for not going after him, keep at it, but if it’s just some stupid, angsty bullshit, you’re an idiot. If Zach went for short, ass-kicking blondes, I’d be all over his ass.” “Don’t even think about it.” I growled. “Then get off your fucking ass.” “I just can’t, Hannah, it would be too…”
“I had barely crossed the threshold before he was running to me and wrapping me in his arms, his mouth on mine. I should have pushed him away, but I didn’t. It was Blake.”
“I’m with Zach now. You can’t take me away from him.” “I like a challenge, Lex.” He started the cart back up and pulled onto the road.”
“This was the reason I was falling for Zach. He didn’t care that I might still be affected by my ex or that Blake was back and it meant a rivalry. No, all he cared about was me and my feelings and how this was screwing with my head.”
“Lex, if it’s Blake you want, you know I won’t stand in your way, I’ll deal with it,” he said quietly.”
“ [MMC1] He leaned over and kissed me. It wasn’t an apathetic kiss of departure. It was a full-on passionate Blake kiss. I kissed him back too and I guiltily enjoyed it. If he hadn’t pulled away, if he would have pushed for more, I didn’t know if I would have told him to stop. We could have easily made love on the floor of this guard tower, damning the consequences. But he was way more responsible than I was and he pulled back.”
“I don’t know, Alexis, I don’t think I could share you,” Zach confessed. “After what we’ve had, I don’t think I could watch you with another man and like it.”
“Zach’s right, it was hard to see you with him,” Blake spoke up. “You looked like you were enjoying it,” I argued, pissed that he would take Zach’s side.”
Zach was shaking his head. “I can’t share you, Alexis.” “This is something I want, Zach.” I turned to him pleading with my eyes.”
“Am I not enough for you, Lex? Have you two been sneaking around behind my back?” Zach reached for his pants, his shoulders rigid in anger.” YeS!
“Yeah, angel, I get it. I do. Be honest with me. Since he’s been back, have you..?” He cut off his question, but I knew what he was asking. “He kissed me. He surprised me on watch. It was nothing more. I swear it’s been only you. You know I need you, right?” [Tell me that doesn’t sound like all cheaters?]
“I looked over Zach’s shoulder to find Blake’s eyes on us, his face grim, but flushed. I wanted him with us. I knew that for sure now. I wanted to feel his hands on me along with Zach’s. I just didn’t think I would get what I wanted.”
“I love you,” he whispered just for me and I closed my eyes trying not to hear the pain in his voice as if it was more of a curse than a declaration.”
“I looked up to find Blake’s eyes on us. I twisted my head to look at Zach and with a jerk of his head he changed everything. I patted the chair next to me and Blake took a seat. I slipped my hand into his. The tingles were now evenly dispersed down both sides of me.”
“MY mind kept wandering as I sat between the two men, the two men that I loved. I kept thinking about what might happen next, what could happen. What did I expect? Did I think that we would all go back to our house and fall into the big bed together and live blissfully happy as the perfect little threesome? Sister husbands, I snorted. But it worked for that family in Las Vegas on the reality show. Why couldn’t it work with my men and me on my survivor island?” [Because it’s all about what you want. They’re only going along out of fear.]
“I just knew I loved both of them and I wanted both of them. I wanted both of them together, but would respect their wishes and take them however they felt the most comfortable with.” [🤣😂]
“Dirty thoughts of where this could lead raced through my head and I tried to squash them. “Yes,” they both said. Blake with a little more eagerness than Zach.”
“I walked giddily to the bathrooms, which were located at the back of the barracks.” [After all the patience, compromises, and kindness Zach has shown her. She doesn’t even make certain that he honestly wants this.]
This is not for me.

Book #2 is even better then the first! Staring Alexis and Zach, my 2 favorite characters, who have a better chemistry then he-who-should-not-be-named from book 1. The cautious slow burn is great here, a favorite trope of mine always, and actual emotional turmoil from Alexis in this installment. Something that was considerably lacking in the first book, and the angst, omg so much angst! Luckily it does not go over board and is quite realistic, especially with what happened in book #1 with he-who-shall-not-be-named and their instant chemistry that went from 0 to 60 in what felt like one minute. Zach is also a far better man in my book (lol), with his ever calming presence and understanding that Alexis needs time to heal, all while letting her know that he is there for her. And don’t even get me started on the flirting! Omg those 2 could heat up a room with just their words and eye fucking alone. So you know, if you love slow burns, heroines who have been burned and are cautious a second time around, yet have a wonderful and understanding man who worships the ground she walks on, with a side of zombie beheading, you should probably read this book.
I'm loving this series! Lex picks up the pieces after Blake abandons her and throws herself into making their compound better and surviving. Zack steps in and becomes her rock and she slowly starts to fall for him. Months on top of months pass and they're all just trying to survive and find food to feed everyone. But when Led finally decides to open her heart and let Zack in she doesn't expect the one person that left a hole in her heart to return. Blake. She's equally parts relieved and pissed that he's back. Even though she loves Zack and wants to be with him, she can't change her feelings for Blake either. If only they could all be together but that's not possible. Or is it?
This book is HOT!!! Adventurous, action-packed, funny, suspenseful, and page turning. I can’t wait to start the next one.
This is a really good series, but there is something I don't like about it and it was just touched on in this book. So, I'm pretty sure it will be in the next one. The world is awesome and scary and I love seeing her being a strong leader. I just don't like the decision she made about Zach and Blake. I felt it was a total cop-out. One guy left her. Left. Her. In the fucking apocalypse for another woman. And, instead of being this strong woman that Zach has stayed next to and built back up from the abandonment of some jerk, some one who has been next to her non-stop for seven months, she whines about missing Blake. They weren't even together for that long. There are so many bad things I could say about this decision, one being that this stupid chit that he left her for is the reason why she's in the situation she's in now, but.... I'll save it til after I read the next book.

Alexis was just as awesome in this one if not more then the last. She had some struggles in this book and the sex was a lot less which I really enjoyed. I loved seeing more of this world that the author built for us and seeing this group of characters evolve into more like a family. I really wish we had more then one POV. I would have loved to have seen what the men were thinking. I can't wait to see what's going to happen. That ending had me on the edge of my seat. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Getting Better - Not a Romance IMO I like this one better than the first one, be aware it is still more action than anything romance. The relationship aspect of this is good, but not romantic lol. It is very sexual and somewhat caring, but sex is not romance. Zombies are minimal in this one. There are a couple of scenes that involves the zombies. It is more human issues than anything else. I look forward to the next one in series and what will happen with Clara and Lex.
well, don't know whether to call this a romance novel, an action adventure, or a zombie apocalypse or just all three shaken AND stirred!!! But even a Grandma like I am can sure keep flipping those pages and grabbing the next in the series.... Talk more about what exciting books these are but meanwhile back to the O.K. Corrall!!! Tally to and call in the troops....
I wasn’t a huge fan of book 1, but the ending, and my ongoing desperation for zombies, convinced me to give book 2 a shot. Big mistake. 😩
As much as I hate to be a quitter, I’m finding myself less interested in these characters with every page. And discovering there’s another book in this trilogy? Let’s just say I’m ready to toss the whole cast to the zombies and walk away. 🧟♀️🪓👋
Alexis is back with book two of the zombie (ish) series. This books falls into the same category as the first one, not so much Zombie as romance/erotica. Alexis moves on quickly to man #2, the best friend, in this book. I want to like this series, but hate the main character and her slutty ways. Maybe in book 3 she will get it together? Doubtful.

This is the second book in the NOLA Zombie series and it was just as good as the first. Hot, scary, sexy, and filled with zombie-killing goodness. I love these characters and can't wait to see what the next book brings.
More like 3.5 but you know... This was better than the first book and the new relationship that emerges in the beginning seems to be more stable and developed.
3.75 bump down for CH Pretty good but hell of a cliffhanger which doesn't make it a complete story. The romance in this one takes a little longer to happen which is less of the insta love of the last but it is still on the erotic side and Lex is a bit immature in holding off, especially after how sexual she was in the last one.
