Rebecca Martin has achieved most things one might hope to by thirty. She is a successful business owner, drives a nice car and is wrapping up the details on a custom built home on the lake. The only thing she is missing is someone to share her accomplishments with.
One man has never been far from her thoughts – Kade McMillian, but his return to town after far too many years of chasing his dreams couldn’t be more poorly timed.
With a younger man demanding Rebecca attention at the office, she has to decide between reconstructing a relationship from her past or diving in deep to something new and seemingly forbidden.

Telling a good story that revives hope, reminds us of love, and gives a vacation from life is all she’s up to.
I decided to write one review for the entire series of Baited by Ali Parker. The series consist of three, very short, parts involving the same story/characters. I am not sure as to why it was broken down in three parts. I read the entire series in about 90 minutes so even together it is a very short read.
Baited is the story Becca, a late 30 something year-old owner of a company. She has put her career before anything else and is very successful at what she does. Part of the reason she does so is because of the guy who broke her heart from high school many years ago. Kade & Becca were best friends but as soon as they started to become more Kade took off to California and she never saw him again. Ever since no man can come close to Kade so Becca focuses on work. Becca begins to date a young 20-something from her office, Jason. He is extremely into her and she wants to be into him but the age thing makes her a bit nervous. This is when Kade comes back in to the picture and Becca needs to decide who she wants.
Though the book has a really great set up for great romance novel it fell a little flat to me. Kade is this guy Becca has been thinking about for years, yet he is in like three scenes total in the book. He was all mystery and I have no idea what he was like. I knew right away who Becca would chose with how the story going. There was no suspense. Kade's character needed to be more developed. I think the problem is the book was simply too short. I enjoyed the idea of the book and Ali Parker is making her way into becoming a great author but there just wasn't enough story or depth to the characters to give the reader much of anything.
With that said, I really hope this series can be retouched and given more depth because I really enjoyed the synopsis and the idea of it. There wasn't really a love triangle either and that left me disappointed. I would definitely reread this again if changes were made.
I give Baited, Part 1, 2 & 3, by Ali Parker 2 stars.
.. and the dilemma of choosing The One for Rebecca continues...
The story picks up right where it left off.. It seems that Rebecca and Jason are getting closer together, especially right after Jason volunteered to help her in her new house. But surprise, surprise, someone from the past came back and Rebecca's future doesn't look that bright anymore.
Yes, Kade finally makes an appearance in Rebecca's life. He happens to be the contractor of the house she's getting built. He's still the hot gorgeous man she's been crushing since high school. And now, he wants to start dating her again. Surely, she should be jumping up and down after seeing the man of her dreams. But on the contrary, Rebecca isn't having any of it. She often asks herself, why now? Why does Kade have to show up when things are getting better with her and Jason. Her heart cries out Jason's name but her mind thinks of Kade.
I'm loving this series more and more. I liked how easy and fast-paced the story is. I also liked how Parker's character got more scenes in this book. I liked how easily he and Rebecca throw banters at each other while still maintaining closeness at a friendship level. I would love to have a friend like Parker.
With Kade and Jason, oh well, to tell you the truth, I'll easily pick Jason for Rebecca. Who cares if he's younger than her? That man is in love and is out to prove his feelings for her. Age doesn't matter in love, as they say. But Becca still can't decide which man to choose.
Rebecca has waited for some time to get a chance to go out with Kade McMillian. He was her best friend in high school and now is the contractor to her new home. She is not sure whether the old feelings are real or are just nostalgia and a chance to put things from the past right.
Enter, Jason her employee and friend. He is twelve years younger and this scares her. He tells her he has feelings for her and genuinely wants a chance to see if they have something between them. The sparks are sure flying! The heat between them feels all to real and all they need now is Rebecca to approve the relationship to go forward.
This is a short story - part 2 of 3 - a serial series. This will end in a cliffhanger, which will be resolved in book 3. It is for the benefit of the reader that you read this in order as it will make so much more sense! This is a great book and the characters are very strong and seem suited together.
I enjoyed the banter with all the characters. I felt the situations presented were honest and you can feel the emotions at stake for Rebecca. I give it a happy 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

After an evening of hanging out with Jason, she is reconsider her rule about mixing business with pleasure. But while out she thinks she sees the one person that has been haunting her for the past sixteen years. If it is him what will Becca do now?
Jason finally has her out in public with people. Now maybe he can get her to unwind. Plus, she has agreed to let him help her with her house. Once he gets her alone at the house he puts the moves on her and it works. But things take a turn when the contractor show up and it's her crush/best friend that she has been waiting on.
Kade is the contractor that will be finishing her house for her. He is back in town and ready to pursue Becca. But the question is, is she ready now that he is?
This book left me waiting to find out what happened. I got to the end and was like what????? I can' not wait to read the last book in this series. Ali is becoming one of favorite authors. I recommend this book and this series to others.
Excellent. book two picks up right were one left off. Rebecca and Jason are on the way to her house that's being built. She is meeting her new contractor. She thinks about kade and Jason comparing them. She and Jason are in her room and he says so boyfriend or brother? she says oh boyfriend and his lips touch hers and then she hears a voice from her past.. omg Kade he is hear.. Is this really happening? Is he really here? Yes he is the contractor. they talk but he is different older, but looks the same.
So does Rebecca chose to be with Kade the blast from the past that she has never forgotten about and broke her heart or does she choose to be with Her Young hot employee that's younger then her?
Great Story. Looking for more. This story is just realistic and I am enjoying and recommend for everyone.
book two picks up right where book on ended with Jason bring Rebecca to her house that is being built and guess who the new contractor is???? That's right its Kade and he wants to get together with Rebecca and talk about the last 16years that he has been away. But the funny thing is that Rebecca does not have any of the feelings that she thought she would for Kade, in fact her attractions are leaning towards Jason but she is still having a hard time with the fact that he works for her and the age difference. When Rebecca goes out for a night on the town with her best friend Trisha she is surprised that she has invited Kade, but the night is interrupted when Parker calls Rebecca with a relationship crisis. I think that book three is going to see Parker somehow vie for Rebeccas love as well as Jason and Kade...but who will she choose
Some women have it all and some are left wanting more. For Rebecca she has her job, her dream home is almost complete, but there is a seriously lacking in the male companionship department.
Jason is worming his way in and Parker is encouraging it. In this part we get to see a bit more of Parker and what makes him, him and Trisha who is kind of an instigator.
Kade makes a presence and stirs everything up, and of course....Becca gets a huge life lesson. Just because we wanted something when we were younger, doesn't always mean it's that great when we are adults.
Amazing, loved this, was so addictive. We start off where we left in book 1. Rebecca has finally starting to move from her past and move forward to the young employee who works at her firm, to be slammed by her past. She is now confused and not sure what she wants. We see her trying to make up her mind, and find out how she feels on her past crush Kade. With her trying to deal with her love life, her partner/best friend Parker life comes crushing down, she tries to be there for him. Better than the first, looking forward to the third, to see what she decides. Amazing Ali.
I did receive this book for my review in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
This was a quick and short read that left me wanting to read the next book. In this book Kade returns home and surprises Rebecca as her contractor and at first she doesn't know what to think of his return. Jason was pretending be her boyfriend and he really was into Rebecca. As this book goes on Rebecca learns more about Jason and start to really wonder if he is the right person for her. Yet confused by her past she still has a decision to make.
This story keeps getting better and better. Becca is getting her house done. Kade is the guy doing it. She's torn between decisions of who she wants to be with. Age & work have a play in some of it.
Well Well Well.... guess who came back to town... yep you guessed it the one the only Kade.... Rebecca has finally decided to let Jason in a lil and bam here comes Kade... what is she going to do?? OMG the angst is overwhelming.... definitely a great read!!!
hmm. Def not as interesting as the 1st part and the writing style is SOOOO annoying. but seeing how each part is only like 80 pages I might as well continue. Also from the title, i was definitely expecting some sex...but nope.
Professional partners and friends trying to find love and its closer than they think, when someone is still pinning for a love for years sometimes your real love it right around the corner, really worth the read and can't wait for book three
I really liked this series. It was realistic as well as fun to read. And what a great quick read it was! Can't wait to see what else this author puts together for us. A definite 3 star series in my little old opinion.
Rebecca and Jason are being pushed together by her best friend Parker! But Rebecca's first love Kade has returned! Will Kade still be the love of her life? I can't wait to see what happens!
I'm glad Rebecca is finally opening up to the idea of being with Jason. Parker deserves so much better than his stripper wife. Kade is a douche. I'm team Jason all the way!
