Phoenix Rayne is the alter ego of a small town girl in Arkansas. She’s an avid reader and enjoys hanging out with her closest girlfriends and dressing up for dinner parties. She released her first book in November of 2013 and has been ecstatic with the incredible backup of her work.
Phoenix Rayne is the author of the “From The From Love to Loathe” series. The first installment of the Contemporary Romance Series is “Heels of Love”, the second is “The Enclave of Jyme”, the third is “Wounded Love”. She also has “Cupid’s Desire”, “The Marriage That Didn’t Stay in Vegas”, “All Torn Apart”, “Your Secret’s Safe with Me” series.
Gunner Hawthorne has it all; he can get any women he wants, good looks, and a multimillion dollar company. That all changes when the owner of Vrede Cosmetics walks through his door. Something about her seems so familiar but he can’t put his finger on it that is until he looks up the company.
Serenity has kept her identity hidden from Gunner until he figures it out. The two have a history, and Serenity has her demons and secrets that will rock Gunner's world. The question is: will they be able to move on, or will the past change the future?
Wow, where do I begin? When I first started reading this, I really hated Gunner. He is the typical egotistical male. I was so glad when Serenity stood up for herself and others who are not a size 2. Once we see the softer side of Gunner, you feel for him and all that he is learning.
What I wasn't expecting were the 2 major twists that were thrown our way. When they come to light, I wondered if I would be able to deal with what these characters were dealing with. This story is about strength, secrets, and long lost loves.
The secret that Serenity is living with, is something that you do not often read about. While it was tough to relate to personally, you are able to understand why Serenity is the way she is. Serenity struggles with living a lie, or telling the truth, and I think we have all been there.
I really enjoyed this story, and I suggest you give it a try!
Although I have known of this author for a while this the first book I have read by her.
This is Serenity and Gunner's story, told from Gunner's prospective. Whenever I read a story purely from the man's prospective the woman sometimes comes across as either cold and hard or weak and Whining. Well Gunner's description of Serenity's responses made her sound weak. However, she is not weak in my opinion because Serenity endures a lot during her life whilst still in love with Gunner unbeknownst to Gunner.
I cannot reveal what Serenity goes through because it will give the too much of the story away. There are twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat with this story. The book is so unlike anything I previously read it is hard to label it. I found it an interesting and engrossing read.
I would recommend this book as a good read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This book could have been good if it wasn't too much detail sex. I didn't like enjoyed this book. It was too mix up reading, who was the Norwegians? Trying to understand stand the other characters in this book, I will not recommend this book.
Gunner Hawthorne will be a hated character one minute then you will see and feel his pain and viola, you will love him. Serenity Vanhill or Serenity Merrigans, her married name for the last twelve years, will make you think twice about how to feel about her.
This book has rude behavior towards full figure women, domestic violence and sexual abuse. The mature content was a little difficult to read, but once you pass that the story takes a turn for the better.
Gunner and Serenity will make you hold your breath while reading their one of a kind love story. This two will give it their all and you will be left with a happy heart by the end of this story. If this summer you are looking for a very intense yet passionate story, then this is for you.
Gifted by author in exchange for an honest review.
All Torn Apart was a phenomenal story from beginning to end. The story had so many twist, turns that just when I thought I knew how the story was going to go this author threw a twist on me that I did not see coming.
The characters were well developed and that work well with each other. Serenity touch my heart in so many ways but most of she touch me with the way she unselfishly gave up on things and people she wanted to protect them.
Gunner was a business that loved hard and that loved Serenity with all that he was and was willing to do whatever to make sure that his family was safe and sound.
This is a novel that I will recommend everyone reads.
This is my second story by this author the first one was bad, and I almost didn't give the author a second chance. However, I decided to check this story out, I'm glad I did this one wasn't as bad as the first one was plot wise. The plot on this story was a lot juicier, BUT the grammar and sentence structure was just as bad, and at points made it hard to read. The main characters were fleshier then in the first novel I read. I would recommend this book to others just beware of the grammar, I am by no means a grammar queen but I know enough to get my work proofread.
Great read. When I first started the book, I figured I would not like the male lead, but Gunner grew on me. I was pleased with his turn around. Serenity was a different type of character for me. The book had everything from hotness to the shock factor, secrets, lies and family revelations. I really enjoyed the book and the outcome. Phoenix Rayne is a great writer and I look forward to reading more of her work.
All Torn Apart is the perfect title for this story. Gunner & Serenity were HS lovers when all of a sudden she vanished. At least he thought she had. He was still the love of her life but held so many secrets regarding her own. When he sees her again for the first time he is rather rude because she doesn't look the same. All in all, in the end, true love prevails after all the deep dark secrets are revealed.
This book was a little different from what I use to reading from Phoenix. I fell in love with Gunner, he was straightforward about anything you ask him. Penelope was crazy as bird!! She was helping them the whole time watching Ren... At times Ren would scare me with all this I have something to tell you lol..seems like she never ran out of secrets.. Good book Phoenix.
0.5 stars or less...'cause this was terrible! Really, really bad/poor story telling! Confusing story line with a lot of dialogues - many times you have to figure out who said what, it was all jumbled and choppy - bad writing! The story is mostly from "hero" Gunnar's p. o. v. and the so called "heroine", Serenity, is one stupid, annoying and weak character! This is just a f**ked up storyline/plot and a f**ked up couple!
Pilot and storyline was terrible y Serenity's character was weak she appeared to be a very stupid woman. Her parents watched her being abused for 15 years and then helped her to clean Not very credible character's or storyline. Add a 15 year old son to the mix ..awful story telling
This book was recommended in one of the book clubs of which I'm a member but I had a tough time completing this book. Some stories just flow and the characters evoke good or bad feelings. This book I started and stopped a couple of times until I eventually gave up.
I enjoyed this book. The plot flowed well and had quite a bit if suspense. I was glad that Gunner and Serenity were able to be together after all that she had been through. The ending was a little rushed as there was just a summary if what happened to Keith and his family. This was the first book that I read by this author and plan to try some more.
Wow what drama, exciting relationship dynamics that are real from one relationship to the next. Real relationship drama and the greatest twist is the female has the greatest set of issues.
This was a good book, but I can't understand why her parents didn't try to get her help or get her away from that crazy husband. But I enjoyed that they had a son that she kept hidden from him and told him about his real daddy
Liked this story because after many years these 2 people still love each other. Even has been through a lot with her husband Keith. She finally met up with Gunner & she wants him. They finally get to be happy after all the craziness that went on.
The story had me scratching my head. I am not a person of abuse and this story has opened my eyes to women who are abused by their significant other. It was so sad to read about this but Serenity never lost her love of Gunner. In the end, they got their HEA.
