Book will be out on Amazon on June 30th. I would like to thank Sadie Greene for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book.
This is my first Sadie Greene book and I fully enjoyed it. Cute easy romance read. Who doesn’t love a good romance in the summer? Throw in a second chance love story and am sold. I loved how Ethan would see something and then would make a mental note of something whether is was something someone said or did or even didn’t do. Like for instance how he made a mental note that Chloe was not drinking her champagne but she normally was one to down the glass in seconds. He was like a little box of knowledge as he observed everybody, he cared about. The relationship between Ethan and Eliana the 2 1/2 year old was absolutely adorable or should I say a-than and Chef Elly. The relationships between all of the characters and their bond as “found” family I love as well.
“Found is the wrong word for this family. Found sounds accidental. We built this one on purpose, slide by slide , caldo by caldo, one dinner at a time.”

For two and a half years, Chloe had everything she thought she wanted. She hosted a well-known relationship reality series, had a great apartment, and a great paycheck. But Hollywood is a fickle beast, and now she has nothing. Except that she’s pregnant by one of the producers of the show, during one drunken party. He wants nothing to do with the baby, and Chloe…well, she doesn’t know what to do.

She arrives at Casa Dorado for her friend Catalina’s wedding, as she is a bridesmaid. She’s also doing her best to avoid her ex, Ethan, who works as a chef at Casa Dorado, and whom she left behind when she got the host job. She’d hoped he’d follow her, but he didn’t.

Basically, both Ethan and Chloe are bad at asking for what they want. Will they ever get their acts together?

I loved the relationship that Chloe has with her friends, and I love her relationship with Ethan even more, because he figures out that she’s pregnant before she tells him. He wants her, and he wants that baby, and that’s that. It’s a little frustrating that she’s avoiding him, because if they would just talk like adults, a lot of this drama might never have happened. I personally think it’s better to say your truths, whether the person you’re saying them to is receptive. You can’t control how other people feel, but you can control how you feel, and honesty is still the best policy.

In short, I really enjoyed this book. Come for the lovers who should have gotten it right the first time, stay for the drama of Cat and Connor’s daughter, Eliana, and enjoy.

ARC Review

This book was a great, feel -good read.

I like so many things about this book. First, it was set in Southern California where I was born, raised, & still reside. So the sense of familiarity with the story and the scene was an unexpected surprise. I also really loved the inclusion of Latino/a characters and the use of "spanglish". This too, was an unexpected & delightful surprise.

The found or "built" family (as the FMC Chloes calls it) was heart-warming and touching. It reminded me how important it is to have people who truly love and support you in your life. Just as it is equally important to be there to love and support those you choose to allow in your life.

I love all the characters. They felt so genuine. Real people going through real life things. Ethan is a gem of an MMC. Chloe is great as well.

In some way, this book reminded me that life is about experiences and relationships. I highly recommend.

3.5 stars.

I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC read. No spoilers review ahead.

I loved the found family element the most. The cast of supporting characters are fantastic. Especially little Eliana.

I adored Ethan. Fantastic MMC.

The FMC was the reason I didn't give this 4 stars. She played the victim a bit too much for my liking. She does grow and admit her own faults at the end, though. So that redeemed her enough to get the 3.5 rating.

I enjoyed the writing style and emotion of the book. This is the third, I believe, in a series, and I will be going back to check out the first two books.

I loved Chloe and Ethan’s story of rediscovering love and choosing a family and community. There were so many people supporting these two on their journey to happily ever after. It was easy to imagine the past between them as well as the fear and hesitation it caused in the present. Ethan was an absolute treasure as he stepped in to support and care for Chloe when she felt lost and alone. Watching Chloe rediscover her passion and drive in life was another sweet story woven in the pages of this book that beautifully complemented the romance.

I don't usually enjoy an unplanned pregnancy, but I wanted to give this book a chance and I'm glad I did! I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It definitely helped that the pregnancy was brought up right from the beginning and it wasn't a surprise in the middle of the book. I really enjoyed Ethan and Chloe's relationship and that he stepped up to be her person throughout everything she was going through. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves the unplanned pregnancy trope or found family!

Hopefully there's more books coming for the other characters. Reads like it's part of an interconnected series with overlapping characters. Can be read as a standalone.

Ethan and Chloe were a cute couple, and I think Sadie did a great job of taking us along on their journey.

This is a Romance…
Second Chance.
Found Family.
Pregnant by another.

This story gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 from me, and a spice level of 🌶️. This book had a decent connection with its characters and a great story, but could have explored the romance between the protagonists a bit more.

The Chef’s Second Chance features the characters Chloe and Ethan. Both are celebrating and participating in the marriage ceremony of their close friends. However, they are still trying to find a way to reconnect after a couple years of separation, and unsaid hurts and wants.

Chloe is returning home to her friends and her ex. Chloe feels defeated after she left for a glam tv job in LA, and is now coming home canceled. What does she do? Where does she go? Has she failed?

Ethan is a Chef, and Chloe’s ex. Ethan is happy to find Chloe back, but is she happy to see him? Does he fall back into his same routine? Is he willing to take chances?

This is an enjoyable book. Recommend for a quick read. Good story.

Thank you to the author Sadie Greene for the ARC of this book.
