She enjoys catching readers off guard with the endings of her stories, but insists that "[it] isn't what her fiction is about", but rather more about the development of her characters. Discussing her novels with the Toronto Star in 2008, she said "I might not write fiction in the literary sense. But I write very well. My characters are good. My dialog is good. And my stories are really involving. I'm writing exactly the kind of books I like to write. And they're the kind of books I like to read. They're popular commercial fiction. That's what they are."

Honestamente, no tengo idea de como iniciar esta reseña, no es solo que Huye, Jane, Huye! sea un thriller inaudito sino que ademas tiene un ritmo tan veloz y pasan tantas cosas en sus paginas que aun no he sido capaz de asimilar todo lo que sucede al 100% y eso que ya ha pasado un par de horas desde que lo termine.
Huye, Jane, Huye! es un buen ejemplo de lo bien que puede envejecer un libro cuando es realmente imponente, no importa cuantos años pasen, cuando al fin lo leas te dejara temblando y asombrada.
Es muy parecido a lo que sucede con los vinos, mejoran con los años y este clasico estoy segura de que fue impresionante cuando vio la luz por primera vez, no obstante, con el paso del tiempo me atreveria a decir que a ido perfeccionandose aun mas.
La historia de Jane empieza de una forma que es imposible que no te enganche desde la primera linea y despues de ese primer momento continua engatusandote con cada nuevo capitulo que devoras, para finalmente concluir en un desenlace que te dejara con la boca abierta, realmente nunca me espere que ese fuera el gran secreto que ocultaban los personajes, aun asi no puedo mas que alabar la maravillosa forma que tiene Joy Fielding de hacerte desconfiar de todos los personajes, incluso de la propia protagonista, llegue a un punto en el que ya ni siquiera era capaz de pensar mas teorias para explicar la gran incognita.
En resumen, Huye, Jane, Huye! es una novela de misterio e intriga que no te dejara indiferente, quizas un punto negativo es que me hubiera gustado que la autora se recrease un poco mas en la parte en la que se caen las mascaras y se descubre el misterio y tambien en el final, lo senti un poco rapido y brusco, pero por lo demas, no tengo sino buenas palabras para describir esta lectura.
Muy muy recomendable, es de esos libros que nunca se quedan obsoletos.

TRE MEN DO
Este libro es alucinantemente bueno!
Un día Jane se encuentra en la mitad de la calle sin saber quién es, hacia dónde va, de dónde viene, ni nada de su pasado y presente. Sólo sabe que tiene muchísimo dinero en sus bolsillos y que hay una gran mancha de sangre en su vestido, ¿de quién es esta sangre? No lo sabe. Lo único que Jane sabe es que necesita ayuda y con urgencia.
Me he demorado un poquillo en terminarlo pero hoy lo agarré y lo leí hasta terminarlo, y es que este libro es de película, así tal cual. Es un thriller que puedes leer en una tarde o cuando estás de vacaciones. Sin duda es un libro que merece cinco estrellas.

Este libro ha sido todo un descubrimiento.
Partimos con una mujer que se encuentra perdida y sin recuerdos, con su ropa manchada de sangre, mucho dinero en sus bolsillos y una lista de la compra con tres productos.
La autora nos invita a este viaje donde esta mujer intenta recuperar sus recuerdos, y el proceso que el lector vive es igual de angustioso que tiene que ser esta mente, donde a veces nada es lo que parece y a veces si, en el que tu opinión cambia cada vez que pasas de página, hasta llevarte a un desenlace totalmente sorprendente.
El personaje de Jane es un personaje magníficamente creado, la evolución de su mente nos hace vivir momentos de verdadera claustrofobia y me ha encantado experimentar esas sensaciones que la autora quería transmitir, acompañado todo de unos secundarios de lujo.
RECOMIENDO NO LEER sinopsis porque hace un pedazo de spoiler.
En definitiva, un thriller muy muy disfrutón que se lleva mis cinco guindillas.

Un thriller psicológico que va de menos a más y que hará sospechar de todos, inclusive de la propia protagonista.
Lo que más me gustó , sin duda , es que su trama es muy realista . Es una situación fácilmente puede ocurrir .

“Te asombrarían las cosas que pueden olvidarse.”
Huye, Jane, Huye, me ha parecido un thriller totalmente adictivo que no vas a poder soltar hasta el final. Uno de los mejores thrillers que he leído actualmente y con un final sorprendente, me ha dejado con muchas ganas de más de leer los demás libros de esta autora, algo que sin duda voy a hacer.

Better title: See Jane Make Repetitive Errors in Judgment. This book was the same thing again and again: Jane's confused, Jane tries to justify, Jane is drugged, Jane is suspicious, Jane is mollified. Again and again. She spoke in cliches, and you, the reader, know exactly who to blame from the start. You want to shake Jane for being such an idiot -- circumstances or no. Not much else to say. I made myself finish this.

This is one of my favorite thrillers. Wonderfully suspenseful book about an amnesiac woman. Learning why she got that way elevates this story way above some mindless mystery thriller. I really cared about this woman. I thought about it and talked about it a lot for a long time after I read it. Really well told story, an enjoyable read, and a very satisfying book.

Un thriller atrapante e intenso desde las primeras páginas que no solo te mantiene en vilo desde el comienzo hasta literalmente la última página, sino que te provoca un nerviosismo y una ansiedad que hacen que parezca que tu corazón va a salirse del pecho en cualquier momento.
Todo está perfectamente construído, la historia es adictiva, los giros argumentales son impredecibles y los personajes principales son redondos. Una historia diferente y sorprendente cuyo final te deja con la boca abierta y la piel de gallina.

Ona odjednom zaboravlja svoje ime, njena haljina je natopljena krvlju, u džepu ima oko 10 hiljada dolara, nepoznati muškarac je uvjerava da joj je muž i da je njeno ime Jane te da je njihova voljena kćerka Emily mrtva. Pokušava se oporaviti uz muškarca koji je neizmjerno voli sve dok se ne ispostavi da nije sve tako idilično i da se ustvari dešava nešto strašno... mala zamjerka na kraj romana koji je pomalo zbrzan, ali sve u svemu odličan rasplet i problem kojim se roman bavi. Preporuka!

SINOPSIS: Jane no se acuerda de nada, no sabe quién es, que le ha pasado... no recuerda nada de su vida. Todo es una pesadilla, su marido le cuenta su vida pero ella no recuerda nada. Un accidente, una hija muerta, medicinas... y el presentimiento de que algo espantoso tuvo que ocurrir o ocurrirá.
OPINIÓN: Me ha encantado, hasta este momento no había leído un thriller tan bien escrito, te mantiene en vilo de principio a fin. No me esperaba para nada la historia que me he encontrado y me ha dejado con la boca abierta. Además me ha encantado cómo está escrito, la protagonista... todo. Ha sido perfecto.
Si queréis leer un thriller psicológico que te atrape desde la primera página hasta el final, sin parar, este es uno de los mejores sin duda. Piel de gallina, miedo, ansiedad, odio, enfado... muchos sentimientos a flor de piel.

A decent premise - in many ways rather similar to BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP, but preceding it by a couple of decades. I'm a little choosy about my thrillers, and this one is fine in conception, though let down by flat and clunky prose. The third-person narration relies heavily on a very repetitive form of internal monologue, filled with rhetorical questions, which quickly becomes very tiresome: (Who was she? Was she crazy? Had she done something unspeakable? Why couldn't she remember things? Where was her daughter? How could she have forgotten her? Why write in the third person at all if you're going to adopt a running pseudo-commentary anyway, and how long would it take for the reader to start getting really tired of it?) The result is a heroine who comes across as quite passive and very dull, in spite of our being repeatedly told that she is feisty and independent. The other characters are similarly unconvincing - the jealous neighbour, the sinister cleaning woman, the suspiciously saintly husband. A little nuance wouldn't have hurt, and might have led to some actual thrills.

Un libro diferente con un argumento del cual no había leído antes. Jane una mujer que de la nada no sabe quién es y mucho menos recuerda su aspecto. Sin embargo, recuerda las calles de su ciudad, así como datos históricos de la misma.
A mi entender una historia que empezó muy bien, donde introduce personajes de los cuales Jane desconfía y no sabe a quién creer. Lo que permite que mantengamos el suspenso hasta el final.
Mi parte negativa con el libro fue que la historia decae un poco en el desarrollo de la misma y el final fue muy abrupto. De todos modos es un libro que recomiendo.
“No me preguntes por mis secretos y no tendré que mentirte”.

El mejor thriller que he leído en un buen tiempo!
Huye, Jane, Huye es un libro con una trama muy atrapando de principio a fin. El hecho que este contado en tercera persona desde el punto de vista de Jane hace que vivas su angustioso proceso y que te pongas en su lugar a cada momento, en ocasiones solo quería abrazar a la protagonista y prometerle que todo iba a estar bien 💔
El ritmo es perfecto, la historia es impredecible, los vuelcos son buenísimos.
No le puse las 5 estrellas solo por un pequeño detalle, pero es tan mínimo que podría pasarlo de largo, así que me lo pensaré mejor

I have read many of Joy Fielding's books and I would put this one as my favourite. One of the very few times that I have not been able to put down a book while reading. Highly recommend!

Voy con un poco de retraso en las reseñas pero también con las lecturas... ¡La vida!
Hoy os traigo un libro que me regaló mi reina maga favorita @anitalectora y que leí con ella y con mi @esterisreading .
Una novela súper recomendada por @abemar.books y yo no puedo estar más de acuerdo.
Esta novela comienza con Jane, nuestra protagonista, que se encuentra en una calle de Boston, con una nota en la mano dónde pone un nombre de una mujer, una hora, una dirección, leche y huevos. Con dinero en el bolsillo pero lo mejor (o peor, según se mire) es que no recuerda quién es, porqué está allí ni siquiera se reconoce en el espejo.
Ahí empieza una historia que te mantendrá enganchada porque, al igual que la protagonista, querrás saber qué ha pasado y quién es ella.
La verdad es que si os gustan los thrillers psicológicos esta es una muy buena opción y sería uno de esos libros que me encantaría que adaptarán en película o serie.

چند سال پیش خونده بودمش و اسمش رو کامل فراموش کرده بودم ولی داستانش رو نه
امروز دیگه خیلی تلاش کردم و در نهایت یادم افتاد اسم رمان هایی که سال ها قبل خونده بودم رو کجا نوشتم و همین باعث شد علاوه بر پیدا کردن این رمان یه چهل پنجاه تایی از اسم کتابایی که خونده بودم هم به گودریدز اضافه کنم😅 و خیلیاشون هم جزو گودریدز نبودن و خیلی دوست دارم به یکی بگم تا اضافشون کنه🥲

It's not very often a book will suck me in! This book is about memory loss. It grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. I will certainly be picking up more of Joy's books in the future.

Un thriller muy entretenido, ambientado en los años 90. De lectura fácil y ágil, consigue ser una lectura muy adictiva a los pocos capítulos. Si os gustan los thrillers, os gustará este.

At some point, I must have read and enjoyed another book by Joy Fielding. I can't imagine why else I'd have picked this one up. The reviews were good, but I'm afraid I have to disagree. It was one of those books that you finish just to prove to yourself that you're right about where it's going.
Part of the problem is, of course, that the book is a bit out of date. By now, the themes that probably seemed original back in 1990 have become so outworn and predictable that the book feels like "Exhibit A" for the genre. Nonetheless, the story was likely predictable even when it was new.
The heroine, Jane, is such a pathetic excuse for a person that it's hard to feel much sympathy for her. And by the end of the novel, when you know what has happened, she's less likable, not more.
Given the time in which it was written, one might expect the novel to have a fairly solid grounding in the etiology of certain criminal acts and in the legalities that arise in the story. On both accounts, the plot falls short. I can't explain without giving away too much, but suffice it to say there would be more than one professional criminally liable if the story were true and the psychology behind the central cause of the plot is paper thin. There are also some continuity errors that an editor should have caught. In addition, the antagonist is so over-the-top as to be almost comical.
Finally, Fielding's writing was a problem for me. She is very long-winded about things like the decor in a room. What could have been covered in a sentence or two will take a page, with the result that the story moves along very, very slowly. She also spends far too much time on the inner maundering of the protagonist. When your response to the main character is that she should just shut up already, there's a problem. By the time I was less than halfway through, I was skimming whole pages of description and mental anguish just to get to the next actual event in the story.
I realize that many people have enjoyed this book and I'm sorry to be such a pill about it, but the fact is, if I'd liked it any less, I'd not have bothered finishing it. I would, however, consider reading one of Fielding's later novels as I'd be interested to see her development as a writer. She certainly has talent, but it's unpolished in this early work.

I can't explain without giving away too much, but suffice it to say there would be more than one professional criminally liable if the story were true and the psychology behind the central cause of the plot is paper thin. There are also some continuity errors that an editor should have caught. In addition, the antagonist is so over-the-top as to be almost comical.
Finally, Fielding's writing was a problem for me. She is very long-winded about things like the decor in a room. What could have been covered in a sentence or two will take a page, with the result that the story moves along very, very slowly. She also spends far too much time on the inner maundering of the protagonist. When your response to the main character is that she should just shut up already, there's a problem. By the time I was less than halfway through, I was skimming whole pages of description and mental anguish just to get to the next actual event in the story.
I realize that many people have enjoyed this book and I'm sorry to be such a pill about it, but the fact is, if I'd liked it any less, I'd not have bothered finishing it. I would, however, consider reading one of Fielding's later novels as I'd be interested to see her development as a writer. She certainly has talent, but it's unpolished in this early work.

Estoy realmente agradecida con la editorial quien lanzo una nueva edición, porque creo de no haber sido así , no habría podido conocer esta historia.
¡Huye, Jane, huye!, es un thriller excepcional, dinámico, atrapante y bien escrito , tomando en cuenta que fue creado en 1991, sinceramente es una historia que nunca podría pasar de moda
Luego de que Jane va a la tienda en busca de huevos y leche, se percata de que ha olvidado quien es ella, no sabe ni su nombre, su aspecto, su dirección , si esta casada o si tiene hijos, de lo único que esta segura es de que esta huyendo de algo que la atemoriza , y solo basta con ver su vestido manchado de sangre y su bolsillo con diez mil dolares.
Creo que desde la primera pagina , la autora roba totalmente la atención del lector, y he de confesar que a lo largo del libro la secuencia de sucesos se va dando de manera vertiginosa , dejando poco espacio para respirar y pensar en que es lo que le sucedió a Jane.
La historia se complica aún mas. cuando Jane "se encuentra" con su marido, un hombre totalmente desconocido para ella ,por lo que se ve obligada a trasladarse junto a el , a su hogar , una casa donde se siente demasiado extraña para ser suya.
Lo mejor del libro es estar de la mano con Jane, es inevitable desconfiar de todo y de todos, al igual que de la misma protagonista , es una persona poco confiable , a falta de su memoria, muchas veces me pregunte si en verdad no estaba loca.
Los últimos capítulos desemboca sucesos que no veía venir, y que le dieron todo el sentido a la trama, llegó realmente a sorprenderme !!!
En conclusión es un libro adictivo y con una narración fácil y sumamente atrapante .

Acabo de terminar este libro y lo único que puedo decir es Wow!! Sumamente adictivo, Huye, Jane, huye es uno de los mejores thrillers que he leído últimamente. Adictivo, te atrapa entre sus páginas y lo único que quieres es seguir leyendo para descubrir que está pasando. La historia me ha mantenido enganchada desde el principio y tanto Jane, nuestra prota, como el resto de personajes me han tenido mosqueada durante toda la lectura pensando que era lo que estaba pasando. No os hablaré de los secundarios para no desvelaros nada que no debáis saber, solo os diré que son una delicia de secundarios cualquiera de ellos y que le aportan el misterio, la intriga y la fuerza perfecta a la historia a lo largo de toda la novela. Y el final, pese a que tenía un par de teorías sobre lo que ocurría, me ha sorprendido con un par de giros que no me esperaba para nada. Así que resumiendo, si os gustan los libros de suspense que os atrapan y no os dejan pensar en otra cosa hasta acabarlo leedlo, no os vais a arrepentir.

Un thriller excelente. Porque te atrapa desde el inicio, te hace dudar de todos, incluso de la misma víctima. Y luego llegas al final y te consigues con un plot-twist que te vuela el cerebro. Excelente.
Jane aparece llena de sangre, con dinero en el bolsillo y sin tener idea de quién es. Eso no es buen inicio. Al terminar al hospital, aparece su querido y reconocido esposo, para llevarla a casa. ¿Qué trauma tan grande pudo pasar para que su cerebro quisiera olvidar lo vivido?
Jane aparece llena de sangre, con dinero en el bolsillo y sin tener idea de quién es. Eso no es buen inicio. Al terminar al hospital, aparece su querido y reconocido esposo, para llevarla a casa. ¿Qué trauma tan grande pudo pasar para que su cerebro quisiera olvidar lo vivido?

Simplemente... WOW.
De este libro no puedo decir mucho porque cualquier cosa es un potencial spoiler. Pero lo he disfrutado muchísimo. No es un libro que se caracterice por tener mucha acción, pero no es inconveniente para mantenerte enganchada. Me encanta cuando las historias te hacen formar constantemente teorías, a cada cual más loca. Y mi mente ha divagando hasta el infinito y más allá 😂
Es un thriller psicológico muy ameno e interesante de leer. Jane pierde la memoria de repente, en medio de la calle y no recuerda ni quién es. Descubrir las causas que le han llevado a ese punto, están maravillosamente llevadas. No sabes cómo ni por qué está así, y te mantiene en vilo a cada rato.
