Lots of fun 80s nostalgia! Took me a little bit to get into the story, but I liked the climax and ending.
My favourite parts were the seemingly simple explanations that adults used to explain the weird goings on, and the ways that the kids took literal meanings of place names, nicknames, song titles, etc. to snowball their imaginations. Both added a consistent element of humour to the story!
