Church Planting by the Book explains church planting in the first-century church and seeks to understand how Scripture can be applied to modern church plants. With its focus on the churches of Acts 2, Church Planting provides readers with a scriptural example of healthy churches and provides unique insight for modern church planters.
Smith truly does a good job of gleaning church planting principles from Acts. I liked how he walked through each church in Acts and the Correlating Epistles. This made for a good and insightful read without being too dense.
The title of the book says it all. The ‘Book’ refers to the Book of Acts. Smith thinks through the nine church plants in Acts and offers common threads and unique insights. A very simple yet helpful read for planters and aspiring planters.
Incredible book! Tons of great content, super encouraging and informative with perspectives that aid in the process of church planting as well as current ministry within the church to use as a means of reflection to understand if you church is living out the life of the New Testament church.
