pretty much Acts commentary, particularly church-planting focused

I didn't like author's writing style, but he got his messages across

“Our study in this book is just the water to prime the pump.”
This is a fun little book. Overall, I think Smith does a great job of keeping to Acts. At a certain point, it feels like a pastoral commentary more than a guide to church planting - but I think that’s the point. I do think there is *some* unnecessary points that Smith adds in, likely because he’s coming from the POV of an IMB guy, but that’s to be expected if you look at the back of the book at his short bio. Overall, I do appreciate how meticulous Smith is with his words.
Not sure I would recommend this to everyone, but it’s a quick read!

Different perspective

Smith truly does a good job of gleaning church planting principles from Acts. I liked how he walked through each church in Acts and the Correlating Epistles. This made for a good and insightful read without being too dense.

The title of the book says it all. The ‘Book’ refers to the Book of Acts. Smith thinks through the nine church plants in Acts and offers common threads and unique insights. A very simple yet helpful read for planters and aspiring planters.

Incredible book! Tons of great content, super encouraging and informative with perspectives that aid in the process of church planting as well as current ministry within the church to use as a means of reflection to understand if you church is living out the life of the New Testament church.
