Great sequel. Could use a good editing but I am enjoying this series!

Blackbeard's Revenge starts up about a year after the first book left off. And things weren't looking especially bright for Edward Thatch and his merry crew of buccaneers. And things don't seem to have gotten much better over the course of the time that occurs between books.
Blackbeard, the man who rides on the majestic ship FREEDOM, as much more than merely a metaphor for his own personal quest, seems to have given up on the idea of being free.
Good thing pirates don't care about things like that!
Okay, let's get down to the gritty. This book is a ton more polished than the first one, and is incredibly fast-paced, considering how long of a book it is. And although there's a ton that happens within the covers of this title, it never seems to get bogged down with too much at any given moment. In fact, Edward seems to be rather singularly focused at most times in the novel, giving him a rather Ahab-esque vibe, which, to be fair, is probably the point.
We see Edward's progress towards being the captain he's supposed to be, but also, more than anything else, see his failures, many of which come back to bite him in the whatsits, some more I'm guessing will do so in future tales of his adventures.
But in the end, this book is really all about family, and how sometimes, you just have to fight for your family, even if the battle seems completely doomed to failure.
This is a spectacular book, one that I think you absolutely should read if you have any interest in pirate fiction. Or action. Or adventure. Or...really, just read it, unless all you like are Harlequins (in which case, what are you doing reading this review even?)

Have been eagerly anticipating this book since finishing the first book in the series. This book did not disappoint! Started reading, and didn't look up until almost the first 100 pages had gone by. This continues where the last book left off. Full of action and adventure, and several turns that had me turning back the page to reread previous ones. Wonderful and exciting book and am very happy to include it in our collection!

Simply Awesome!
The tell of the ultimate pirate. The story and characters jump off the pages and Into your heart. The storyline is simply awesome to the point that you yourself want to be a member of the crew. A simply must read.

Okay read, but
This series started out as historical fiction, the warped to Peter Pan and here to almost pure Fantasy. I enjoy fantasy and I enjoy historical fiction but prefer them to be separate.

Much better than first
Novel was far better than the first book in this series worth the read and looking forward to the next book in Blackbeard's adventures.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story is packed with action and adventures, with some fantasy, mystery and even a little romance thrown in!
Blackbeard and his crew, on their ship "Freedom" continue their search for the keys to unlock sealed sections of their ship. A puzzle left by Benjamin Hornigold, the previous owner. I recommend reading these books in order as it's a continuing storyline and the story is so in-depth.
With lots of lovable characters, all with their own secrets and tales to tell, Blackbeard's journey is an exciting one written at a fast pace that makes you want to read more. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

I love this series. The adventures are amazing though a little violent. I didn't enjoy the part about time travel/ fog. It seemed a bit pointless. I did enjoy the rest of the book. Glad to have a happy ending.
