I am not even joking when I say I guessed basically every single major AND minor plot twist in this book. ⋆˚࿔

At some point I was just waiting for the characters to figure out what I had already figured out like 100 pages ago. ｡𖦹°‧

I could see exactly what the book was trying to do, but unfortunately it didn’t really shock me because I had already guessed where everything was going. ⋆˙⟡

I liked the characters. Were they incredibly complex and unforgettable? Not really. 𑣲⋆

There were quite a few moments that made me physically cringe, and sometimes the characters felt a little too basic for what the story was trying to do. ⋆｡°✩

The whole thing also had a very strong YA vibe.
And unfortunately, not always in a good way. ꫂ ၴႅၴ

My biggest issue was probably the flow of the story.
I think the book needed a little more momentum because there were SO many repetitive moments where it felt like the plot simply wasn’t moving forward. ⋆˚࿔

The perfect example is the mysterious key. 𖤝 ࣪ ˖

By around 60%, we basically knew that it opened the basement.
And yet…
WHY DID THEY WAIT UNTIL THE VERY END TO GO DOWN THERE??? ִ.^ྀི

Despite all of that, I am definitely excited for the next book.
Which is slightly unfortunate because I genuinely thought this was going to be a standalone.
So imagine my surprise when I found out there is another one coming. .𖥔 ݁ ˖

BUT good news no:
It’s coming soon.
And after THAT ending, obviously I need to know what happens next. .⋆♱

if you're expecting a thriller, don't read it... it's a typical teen romance, with a little drama
very awkward, very cringe, full of simple characters with no depth, the relationships are superficial, the whole plot is illogical, the twist is NOT a twist, everything is constantly being chewed into the reader's mouth, full of repetitions, the "spicy" part is downright unpleasant
the cover was misleading, I haven't read the content, lately I like it better when it's a surprise, but not like this
I would have liked it if I was 13-14
