Asher’s journey is emotional, dark, and utterly gripping.

Asher by Tasia Timm is an absolute must-read prequel to Flesh and Flame! Rather than jumping straight into the action of the main book, this novella delivers a raw, powerful, and grounded look into who Asher was before everything changed.

What stood out:

Compelling & Gritty Origin Story: The story takes its time building Asher’s background, pulling no punches as his life unravels through personal tragedy, bad choices, and hard time. It gives his character incredible depth, weight, and realistic baggage.

Flawless Setup for Flesh and Flame: Following his dark journey through his release and the crucial moment his path crosses with Kylie builds fantastic momentum right up to the start of the first book.

Emotional Depth & Tension: Tasia Timm nails the high-stakes personal drama, dark real-world struggles, and emotional tension that make you root for Asher despite his flaws.

Final Verdict:
An intense, fast-paced character study that lays the perfect foundation for Flesh and Flame without spoiling a single surprise. Highly recommended!

This is the prequel we needed for Asher. It does a great job at showing how he started off as basically a lost soul and was able to use the consequences of his actions to grow into a better version of himself.

Well written, with lots of imagery to paint a picture in your mind. You'll love the characters you're supposed to love...and hate the ones that...well, you're not supposed to love.

Very dark, and a little graphic at times—but nothing that feels out of place. Reminder to readers that this is book 1.5 in the series, you need to read Flesh & Flame first to avoid spoilers! There is some overlap with the plot of Asher and Flesh & Flame, so reading this one first might ruin some things for you.

Great read that reveals so much more about Asher’s character and the life he’s led. Delving into his past was an experience
