Jesus Is For You is a book filled with real life stories that tell us what it is like to truly experience Jesus in our everyday lives. Not just when we've cleaned up our act and become "perfect". That to come to Jesus is to come just as you are.

Jesus Is For You by Judah Smith is a small little gift book filled with beautiful pictures, stories and verses that all communicate the truth that Jesus is entirely and completely on your side and in your corner. I love Judah Smith. I love his passion to help all people realize how deeply God loves them. This book does just that. This would be a great book to give to a new Christian - perhaps a Baptism gift or something that could be given out in a new Christian's class. It is both beautiful and encouraging. It's also a very easy and quick read. The majority of the book is filled with quotes, verses and beautiful pictures. It could very easily be used as a daily devotional book or to provide verses that one could memorize. This little book is broken up into three sections (Jesus is..., Jesus Gives..., & Jesus is there when...). Each section has stories from various individuals about grace, transformation, Christ encounters and salvation.

Regardless of your story, you can find encouragement in this little book by Judah Smith. You might even gain a better understanding of who Jesus really is and what that means for you. This book is light in words, but rich in love and inspiration.

The very right decision that I did this week! It’s been weeks since I felt like need to read this book. Edisi lagi ogah-ogahan dan ada sekatan yang belum terbereskan juga jadinya menjauhi beberapa circle 😅. At the end, saking dihantuinya sama panggilan buat baca ini buku, akhirnya memutuskan berhenti melarikan diri. Then, tadaaaaaa....! Heartwarming and touched, again and again! Buku yang sangat ringan tapi ngena banget. Ini buku ingetin lagi drama awal tahun dimana merasa sangat kesal (maybe kecewa dan tersakiti) oleh setiap penghakiman yang diberikan sama orang2 yg harusnya jadi support system lu (bahkan penghakiman itu 100% salah, omai! Masih fresh banget di otak dan tentunya masih akan bertahan sangat lama di memori ini). Bersyukurnya punya banyak guardian angel yang selalu siap jadi support system yang mampu meneguhkan bahwa penilaian dan penghakiman tsb tidak tepat (tapi dengan kejadian itu, mulai menyadari mungkin dari awal mereka hanya tim julid yang sudah tabiatnya menghakimi dengan beralasan kasih. Padahal, kasih itu tidak menghakimi. So maybe dari awal emang gw yg salah menganggap mereka support system gw). Baca buku ini bikin flashback ke kehidupan gereja mula-mula gw, bersyukur punya keluarga di dalam Kristus yang senantiasa menunjukkan kasih tak bersyarat dan sampai saat ini pun kasih tersebut jadi teladan dalam hidup gw. Makin dibaca makin diberkati dan dikuatkan lagi, yes, I am a sinner and still do sins. Gw ga pernah bilang gw orang baik dan ga pernah bilang gw tidak melakukan dosa. Tapi, Yesus datang ke dunia buat orang berdosa dan penghakiman itu miliknya Tuhan bukan manusia. Banyak kisah di buku ini yang ceritain gereja maupun support system itu at the endnya tidak menggambarkan kasih Allah ke orang2 yg membutuhkan, tapi Tuhan selalu mengirimkan gereja2 dan support systems lainnya yg senantiasa menjadi suatu pengubahan dan pemulihan bagi mereka yg membutuhkan sampai akhirnya melihat kasih Kristus Yesus yg hidup. Gw salah satu orang itu, yang selalu dikasih support systems penuh kasih yang menguatkan dan memulihkan, semua karena belas kasih Tuhan. That’s why I feel so blessed! VERY RECOMMENDED!

Smith presents a view of salvation that is purely imputed righteousness. "When God looks at you, he only sees Jesus" This perspective seems to ignore any actual imparted righteousness of God's saints based on the benefits of Christ's righteousness.

The grace mentioned in these stories is beautiful, but almost lacking accountability.

Overall, they are beautiful testimonies of God's love, and passionate pursuit of humanity.

"Grace isn't logical"

It seems like this book is mostly an advertisement for Smith's earlier work "Jesus Is___", as it's mainly testimonials from people saying how Jesus was for them through different periods in their life, despite inward sin or outward experience.

I think this could probably be an encouraging book to some, but it mostly left me nonplussed. I will most likely read more of Smith's books in the future, maybe that'll help clear this up.

This is a really beautiful book, it's very inspiring this book has beautiful scriptures and and real life stories/testimonies of peoples life and seeing how they have overcome by understanding hoe Jesus is there for us and his word is true and we can get through any obstacles we are going through no matter where we are in are life. This is a very uplifting book to read when you are down. We all have to realize we are not the only ones going through challenges in are life and realize Jesus loves us and will get us through we just have to trust him and have faith in his word.
