Army Strong and dripping with sin ...

Paul Jackson had his dreams mapped out. He’d graduate from high school, attend college, go pro for football, marry his high school sweetheart and live happily ever after. Until his high school sweetheart threw away everything he never knew he wanted. Throwing caution to the wind, he put his country's dreams before his own.

The Army was a perfect distraction from her. It helped him become a man. To serve, to protect, to fight, to become strong. But when Paul returns home after three tours, he knows there’s nothing better than sexy woman, a shot of tequila and a pocket full of cash.

But he still thinks about her

Joselyn Marquez’s life changed the night of her seventeenth birthday. A forty-eight hour roller coaster trip sent her running for her life. She was homeless, and her family had disappeared. All odds were against her.

But sometimes the odds work out.

Years later, she’s an FBI agent serving as an undercover escort to investigate sex trafficking in Las Vegas. When the investigation connects her past, will she be able to do the right thing or will she still keep running from the night of her seventeenth birthday?

Tensions will rise.

Sparks will fly.

Passions will soar.

And the past will come knocking …

4.5 Emotional and Very Sexy Stars

I was very graciously gifted an ARC copy of this book and so I immediately dove in! I have to say, wow, I really liked the first book in this series a lot but I have to say that Paul's story moved up a notch and in a very good way:)

Paul's back story was so heartbreaking but yet, oh what a beautiful insight as to Paul's character. He was gorgeous, athletic, smart and my gosh did he know how to love and with such passion:) He had so much going for him in high school, a beautiful girlfriend whom he loved with all of his heart and a promising football career ahead of him and then, BAM, yep, a heartbreaking event caused him to turn his back on all of his dreams and start a new life. His new life of course led him to his best friend Gabe and his future wife Autumn (their story is in the first book of this series) and of course working for S & R, lol, I STILL can't get over the career paths these 2 took, lolololololol, I say this because when I read the first book I hadn't read any reviews so I had no idea what I was in store for, heheheh, but when I started this book I was so glad that I was "prepared" for it this time around, lol!!!!!

Joselyn (which is my name btw and so funny to see it in a book and with the exact spelling too, spelled with an S and not the typical C ) had the most heartbreaking back story, I am not kidding when I say I was in tears for her at the start of this book! She honest to goodness was so damn broken but yet as much as she had gone through she still held out hope to be loved and cherished as she often thought about as a teenager. What happened to her was horrific and it broke my heart into pieces. She definitely made a move to turn her life around and pay it back and I couldn't help but applaud her for that:)

When these 2 meet, it is the funniest of circumstances, wink, wink, and there is an instant spark between the both of them. I absolutely loved the slow burn between them and when they finally gave in to their desires, wow, it was amazing, beautiful, heartwarming and oh yeah, very sexy too:) Their story was fast paced, the writing flowed perfectly and what I really loved was that the story unfolded straight to the point. I love when a story between characters can play out without all the unnecessary drama and the high level of angst along with it and this story was refreshing. Now don't get me wrong, I do at times love the drama and the angst but sometimes I just want to read a really great sexy romance and yes, this story was it!!!!! Once I started, I literally didn't put it down, except for about 5 minutes, lol and I loved that it kept my interest peaked at all times!!

OK, so now you may wonder why not 5 stars and only 4.5 stars, well, it was the ending. Don't get me wrong, I loved the ending but I also was a tad bit frustrated that we are left with a very tiny cliffy. Yes, I say a very tiny cliffy because I was left feeling 99.9 percent satisfied but there is an issue that remains and I wish that it had just got wrapped up in this book. I assume there is a method to Author Kimberly Knight's madness, lol, and I am also assuming it was done with the best intentions and so with that being said, I guess thinking about it, it just may add some added excitement to Seth's story. So I do understand in a way although I don't have to like it, lol. All I know is that I am loving this series and can't wait for the next book:)

Congrats to Author Kimberly Knight, this was a great addition to a promising series and I can't wait for more:)

First, I want to thank author Kimberly Knight, for allowing me to be a member of the T&L beta reading crew. It was fabulous to not only get that opportunity from someone that was already on your list of favorite authors, but it was awesome to chat and break down parts of the book with the other group members as we started to read.

Now...I can't see how someone would NOT dig a KK book, but bias feelings aside, this hottie of a book was spot on for me. I loved the tale of two broken people, finding each other, getting strength to heal and move on from each other. Insta-lust is never a negative for me when it's written well, and I can always count on that being the case with Kimberly's books. Throw in some suspense, blush worthy smutty goodness, and a nearly wrapped up ending, and its my kind of book for sure. I'm thankful her series isn't following a bit of trend as of late, where at times a story that could be knocked out beautifully in one book, is dragged out into 3 with too much time in between. I appreciate authors that have a story in mind, get it on paper, and don't make a dramatic telling into multiple books over time.

Jump on this book, pre-order or release day! (9/28/15) You don't HAVE to have read Angels & Whiskey firat, but I'd recommend it...because, well, its another hot story and we get to visit with Gabe and Autumn in T&L, seeing how love is treating them. Thanks again KK for allowing me to get my greedy little hands on this book and being a teeny tiny part of your process! <3

Exciting!

Joselyn Marquez’s virginity was sold at the age of 17 by her own mother, all dressed up and excited to be given a ride in a limo for her birthday except it was a ride she wasn't expecting. Joselyn ran away that night and now years later is going undercover as an FBI agent to put the men behind bars that sell women's virginity and take young girls.

Undercover as an escort in Vegas Joselyn changing her name to Andi is placed in an apartment sharing with another member of staff from the agency.

Paul Jackson ex armed forces and an escort was not expecting the new house mate Andi to be a woman, a beautiful woman and one he falls instantly for with her smart and sassy mouth.

I loved it, Tequila and lace was fast paced and Joselyn and Paul quickly fell into a relationship but Joselyn hadn't had sex since the night of her 17th birthday so many years ago and Paul who is used to having sex regularly wants nothing more than to wait as he knows Andi is special but she has secrets he has yet to discover.

This is a two part story and as Joselyn gets closer to putting men behind bars and cracking her case her relationship with Paul is also heating up.

I'm Looking forward to the next book and seeing where the plot will go.

I feel like this storyline had great potential, but jesus woman. do your homework on agents and undercover work, sex traffic etc before you write that kind of book.

1) did i miss the part were it was explained how she could live from 17-18 as underage with Seth? Did she even live with Seth? her mother was missing and she had no paperwork, she was underage
2) how did she go to college? who paid for it?
3) did she even wonder what happend to her brother? did her mother sell little kids also? did he sell his brother? did she worry that her little brother was sold as child sex slave? or did she just "ah they moved away and never gave anybody new address, bye family"
4) she is 29y old field agent? or a random desk clerk? sure did feel like she was random desk clerk with her self defence skills and not to mention her undercover investigation ability - she just made out with Paul and went on dates with random dudes, weeks go on and she has ZERO lead, because she did no acutal searching work. She expected all to fall into her lap? that she would meet random people by chance? she had NO backup support or info. and omg don't even talk about that hotel scene. trained agent does not let herself get almost raped and run away when she hits him in the crotch and then in the head with lamp. Anybody has that kind of "trained agent skill". that made me cringe so bad. Why do you make her TRAINED agent, when she is 100% useless and defenseless? WHY did she took that date anyway? lame excuses.
5) she refuses to call cops to rapist and lets it be, so next girl could get raped instead of her.
6) after it turned out, her brother who she left behind turned out this Martinez pimp, she just pulled her gun and said some shit like "Freeze, FBI". like wtf? WHY? how?! she had zero evidence. she was alone, with no backup. like WTF. just a random dude, she MAYBE can bring him into questioning, but he will be let loose like with 1 min, because she blew her cover with 1 min without actually investigating anything. good thing a CIVILIAN with a gun saved her... Jesus author, seriously?
7) never EVER is relative part of active investigation, as soon she found out he was her brother she needed to tell her supervisor and get herself removed from the case. she instead "faked it like everything" or what ever she said. that means criminal walks free, because procedure has been violated.
8) she blames Paul for being so "unprepared", that she was so hung up on him and in clouds, that she forgot her job ... that she got attacked and almost killed. Noo... she is just super rookie and dumb. Getting herself and others killed in her team.
9) she lied to Paul and she was undercover, but somehow she ended up the victim and made HIM growel, ignoring his calls and texts.
10) after she confessed her "deep dark secrets " and her very personal connection to the case, they kept her on the case

i give this 2 star, because that whole FBI and "undercover" part was soo bad, that it drove me crazy.

Finally we get Paul's story and I have to say I think I enjoyed this book a little better then the first book in the series.

Paul was in love when he was in high school and he got his girlfriend pregnant. She ended up getting an abortion and he broke up with her and went in the army. Now years later he's an escort and still hasn't had a serious relationship. Well that is until "Andi" shows up on his doorstep as his new roommate.

Joselyn's mother sold her virginity when she was just 17 years old. After that horrible night she ran away and left Miami behind. She ends up in DC and gets in touch with her longtime best friend Scott. Joss find out her mother and little brother left shortly after she disappeared. Now she is in the FBI and its time to go undercover but when she meets Paul she never thought he would become the one.

This story, like the first story brought up something that happens in life. I liked Joss and loved how she became a strong woman despite her past. She grew up to become a FBI agent to help others which was all kinds of awesome.

I liked Paul and his easy nature. Right away when he meets Joss aka Andi, he starts to play around with her but you can tell he is into her and wants to get to know her on another level.

I don't want to say these two characters are badly broken but it was nice to see how well they got along and started a relationship despite what they both have dealt with.

The one thing I had an issue with was the ending. I felt the book left in a cliffhanger. Joss gets the middle man and Seth is sent to Vegas to help bring down the main guy of the operation. I guess I was just hoping this story would have been wrapped up so when Seth gets his book we have a new storyline.

This is only my second book that I have read from night but I am enjoying her writing style. I love the way we get a chance to get into both characters heads. I am really looking forward to reading about Seth and excited to see who he ends up with.

Tequila and Lace is the second book in Kimberly Knight's Saddles and Racks series. I haven't read the first book in the series but fortunately this one can be read as a standalone.

Paul thought he had everything figured out his senior year in high school. He was dating the love of his life, was getting ready to go pro in football, but then his girlfriend ends up pregnant and his life starts to spin out of control. Vanessa decides she isn't ready to be a mom so she tells Paul she is going to get an abortion. They go their separate ways and in a spur of the moment decision Paul joins the Army. After he finishes three tours he moves to Vegas and becomes an escort. He still hasn't been able to let go of his feelings for Vanessa but is happy to please women in any way he can. Will he ever be able to move on and find a HEA with someone else?

Joselyn's life was changed forever on her seventeenth birthday. She was tired of being treated like crap by her mom so she decides to run away from home. She moves in with her best friend Seth and decides to become an FBI agent. She is sent to Vegas as an undercover escort to try take down a sex trafficking ring. She hasn't been in a relationship for years because of the trauma she experienced as a teen. She ends up moving in with Paul and is immediately attracted to him. Will she be able to let go of her past issues with men and let Paul show her how a woman deserves to be treated? What will happen when Joselyn's past collides with her future?

I really liked the connection between Paul and Joselyn. Destiny brings Paul and Joselyn together and teaches them that everyone deserves to find happiness. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I was a little disappointed with the way the story ended. There was so much going on at the end and we never get closure on a few of the issues.

Courage, Hope, Love

This book was truly amazing and I am so honored to have been given the chance to read an Advanced Copy.

Let me just say first that this book blew me away!!! You know you are reading a good book when you feel the emotions of the characters inside yourself. There were times that I found myself holding my breath because of the events that were happening. The emotional roller coaster I was on lasted from the beginning to the end, but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Both Paul Jackson and Joselyn Marquez endured traumatic events in their teens and neither felt that they could ever get close to someone or love again. Paul turned to the Army to forget about his past, leaving his football scholarship behind as well as the girl who tore his heart out. Joslyn ran to the only “family” she had left after the horrific events on her seventeenth birthday, then joined the FBI to help get her life back together. They both end up working for Saddles & Racks, but for two totally different reasons – Paul to forget and make some serious cash, and Joselyn to go undercover to investigate sex trafficking. Both characters were so patient and understanding, that is was hard to not fall in love with them.

Once again Ms. Knight approached two very sensitive subjects with discretion and class.

This is a stand-alone, and you don’t have to read Angels & Whiskey first, but I highly recommend it because Gabe and Autumn’s story is just as amazing as this one.

I cannot wait for Seth’s story, I am sure that it will be just as fantastic as the other two books in the Saddles & Racks series.

I got the opportunity to beta read this book and I am so happy I did! This was a great follow up to Angels and Whiskey,I loved Paul and Joss's story :) This book feels a little shorter than typical and it reads fast. For me this was due to the fact that the story never lagged and it was driven by the characters and the conflict.
The characters are developed well as individuals and then again as they come together. You got their back stories, you got their current circumstances and then you felt their relationship start to develop. That to me is one of the best parts of the book; watching their relationship form. Paul and Joss have these funny, flirty convos and banter throughout, which I love. Even though Joss is hiding some pretty big info and Paul is still a bit burnt from a previous relationship they come together and it's really sweet to see them grow from individuals to a couple.
Another really awesome part of this book are the conflicts. I'm not going to go too in depth on these because of spoilers but the conflicts that each of them face individually and then the ones that they eventually face together are are huge driving factor in the book and is the main reason why the story moved quickly and kept me hooked.
So to sum up, if you liked Angels and Whiskey you will definitely love this. Even if you were ambivalent or haven't had a chance to read it (which you should cause it was awesome too) you should absolutely read this. I don't think you'll be disappointed :)

RECEIVED AN ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW

Firstly let me say thank you Kimberly for bestowing me with the privilege of receiving an early copy and allowing me to review. I am humbled.

Let me say I loved Paul Jackson from Whiskey and Angels so when I knew his story was next it was a no brainer to want to read about him and who would capture his attentions. None other than Josie Marquez, an undercover FBI agent.

6% in and I'm swallowing thickly saying OH NO!
8% in snickering at Paul and laughing then another Oh no not long after that.
The roller coaster of emotions that went through me whilst reading these first scenes is a testament to Kimberly
Knights excellence in writing and her ability to make the reader be there with the characters.

Despite the serious topic of the book Paul and Joss' scenes keep a permanent smile on my face. I love the fast pace nature of the story and way Paul and Josses relationship develops. For they have both been through traumatic experiences in their lives making them wary of giving themselves to others, but how fitting that they find one another and repair each other.
Now I need more

Kimberly Kincaid's books always surprise me. The way this book started out I thought it was going to be cute, a little fluffy and a quick read. Well, it was a quick read all right, but the last thing this book was, was cute and fluffy! If you read the first book in this series, then you had already met Paul. Paul works as an escort for a service in Las Vegas and when his roommate moves out with his fiancé, Paul gets a new roommate who happens to be the heroine of the book. Her name is Jocelyn and we get to know her background in the first couple of chapters. When she meets Paul as her new roommate, she is working for the FBI and is undercover. This leads to the plot of the book which is a romance, but with a serious plotabout sexual trafficking in Las Vegas.

I thought this was actually a very serious topic but one that I was intrigued by and could not put down. I finished it in one seating! I am really enjoying the journey this series is traveling and look forward to Seth's book next. Although this book is part of a series, it definitely can be read as a stand alone.

Thanks to Kimberly Kincaid for letting me read this ARC for an honest review.

##This was given to me in exchange for an honest review##

It just keeps getting better! I thought Angels and Whiskey was an awesome story, but this was so, so good. Paul is broken from a relationship in high school relationship vowing to never love again. Joss is sold by her prostitute mom on her 17th birthday. Years later Joss has become FBI while Paul is an escort. They meet when she's assigned as his roommate as she's undercover. He falls for her but she pushes away because of her past. This story has surprises that kept me turning the pages! Wonderfully written, suspenseful and then....the cliff hanger. Can't wait for the next one!

I LOVE PAUL!!!! He is a sweet and sexy man that I fell in love with in the first book. Then this one comes along and just makes me fall harder for him. I loved this book and am honored once again that I was able to beta read and then get the whole story early. I couldn't wait to be able to read it all in one setting and I pretty much did that when it was finished. The characters were great and the story flowed and pulled you in wanting to know what was coming next. Can't wait for the next book. You are going to want to get this one as SOON AS it releases!

Tequila and Lace Review

5 stars
Dual POV

I enjoyed this books, as much as I enjoyed the first one.
I lovedddd Paul and Joss. Breaks my heart what she had to go through at 17. Her mom was a cruel woman.
I applaud her with the choices she has made in her life. I think they were perfect choices! I am also so glad of who she arrested, which led her to who she needed to be rejoined with again. That was awesome.
I'm also so glad that Paul doesn't give up easy, lol
They are just perfect!!!
Looking forward to Seth's story!!!

Paul left and joined the military after school when his sweetheart broke his heart. He never thought he would find somebody that could ever fix his broken heart.

Joselyn had a terrible childhood and left it after an incident that happened on her birthday. Now she us trying to help the problem.

Paul and Joselyn find themselves in a situation that they thought would never happen and can't seem to fight it.

Kimberly has written another great book and I had the privilege to beta read.

If you loved Gabriel then you definitely want Paul.

I didn't think it was possible but I might just love this book a bit more than Angels and Whiskey. Paul crept into my heart from the very first chapter and I was hooked. Love how to broken souls get together and help each other heal. Hot hot hot...drip drip drip...loved every minute of this book, definitely a must read!!

Really enjoyed the inclusion of Gabe and Autumn in the book, seeing how their love has flourished and grown.

Thank you Kimberly

4/4.5 stars - Let me start off by saying that I'm a big fan of Kimberly Knight's writing & her books. This one did not disappoint me. I enjoyed Paul in Angels & Whiskey, but loved him more in Tequila & Lace. He was so easy to fall in love with. I felt for Joss and what she went through at seventeen. This was a fun read with just the right amount of steam. I can't wait for Seth's story next up.

I can always count on a Kimberly Knight book to bring out a lot of emotions for me, and this one was no different. I fell in love with Paul and wanted him to get his HEA so badly. From the first page I read I wanted to see how the book ended and where she was going to take the story. I laughed , I teared up and I swooned over Paul, Cant wait to see whats next for this series!

It’s Joselyn’s 17’th birthday and she’s thrilled because her mother has given her a new dress and a ride in a limo.....but the limo had a male passenger and it was a trip she least expected....she lost her virginity that night, she never went home, she ran away and now years later she’s determined to see justice and put the evil men who sell young women’s virginity behind bars.
She goes under cover as Andi and works for Saddles & Racks as an escort.
While there she has to be placed in an apartment with another member so she looks kosher.
Paul is ex armed forces, he’s an escort and his last room mates have just moved out, he’s just getting used to being on his own, a new roomie is fine.....but a female, that’s very thought provoking, she’s beautiful and feisty.

I loved the storyline of Tequila and Lace. The characters were great, especially Joselyn, she was a very strong young women, she had been through some terrible times and her mother was an awful woman. And I liked Paul, he was a special, caring man, he knows he wants Joselyn but he wants to waits until she’s ready, he’ll wait, he doesn’t care how long.

It’s a sad tale but also beautiful too as Joselyn finally finds someone to mend her broken heart. A great story!

5 star review of Tequila & Lace (Saddles & Rack #2) by Kimberly Knight

Audio Review

This is Paul Jackson and Joselyn Marquez’s story. There may be triggers for some so be prepared. Although not necessary I would also recommend you read or listen to Whiskey & Angels which is the first book in the series as Paul does appear in that one as a secondary character.

Haunted by her mother’s betrayal and the pain she her mother’s actions caused when she was 17, Joselyn ran and didn’t look back, leaving behind her mother and 8 year old brother.

I really admired Joselyn and her dedication to bring the bad guys to justice. Her determination and tenacity in trying to make the world a safer place for women and children was truly admirable.

Tequila & Lace had suspense, danger, intrigue, sizzling hot scenes and characters that you could easily relate too. There was certainly a twist that I did not see coming which added to the experience.

The narrators did a great job in bringing the story to life; all in all a captivating story and I am looking forward to more in this series.

I don't know how anyone could not fall for these characters. This story was so intense. And the twist at the end has you begging for more. I absolutely loved PJ and really thought Joss would be falling for someone else. Their connection was instant, one you could feel through the pages. Kimberly Knight has a way with words that keeps her readings in a trance from beginning to end. Your heart goes out for Joss and all that she's been through, so many readers will be able to relate to her story in one way or another. It may be triggering for some, but for others it may let them know they're not alone. I loved seeing how much Joss grew, not just from a young girl into an adult but her strength and character. She didn't let her past defeat her. I really loved this Military Romance and can't wait to see what's to come of the next story. I just know Ill love it as much as I did this one.

This story had drama and suspense mixed with some hot characters. The storyline was addicting and had me on the edge of my seat. Paul is an escort and gets Andi (Joselyn) as a roommate, who is there under different pretenses. Things are not as they seem and secrets come to light that could put them both at risk. The one thing I did not like about this book was it was sort of a cliffhanger, which I was not expecting. The story was going and then it ended for now. Looking forward to seeing what transpires between Paul and Joselyn.

Everything was going good until the last few chapters. Just felt rushed and did really tie anything up. Was she able to get any real closer with her brother? What did Bryce think when he learned that she was his sister? And the situation with Vanessa is he really okay? What did she have to tell him? I don't know. I just feel like something was missing from the story. I doubt with Seth's story we get any answers.

Review:
I expected more from this book. I was hoping for something more thriller like, some more suspense. I expected the Hero's military past to play a bigger role than it did. It was hardly mentioned. Instead of the above the entire story focused more on the relationship between the main characters. Which I did like but I expected more. I wanted all off the above basically.
I didn't expect that the main issue would be left unresolved, to be picked up in the next book. So if you want to know how the crime related stuff and the case they build ends, you'll have to continue reading the books.
I also felt like the relationship between the characters went to fast. They went to meeting to getting engaged within a few weeks.
The story got predictable at some points, I predicted the ending early in the book. I also felt like for someone that says they got trained and is a bad ass, they sucked at fighting and fighting of an attacker.

Overall it wasn't a bad book, I just expected more out of it.

This is Paul and Joss’s story and it is a short sharp read.
I liked the fact that characters didn’t hang around, they were keen to have their story told and the scenario that surrounded them meant that their story was one that I needed to hear.
The story was well put together and the characters were ones that were both eclectic and engaging.
I loved the fact that the author gave their whole story pride of place, that we not only got to see what was occupying them t the minute but also what had shaped them in the past, what had made them into the people they were today and what they were to each other – I loved that whole picture – it made them more relatable.
The relationship between the two of them and the connection as just so absorbing that I totally fell in love with the pair of them.
They story was funny, they were light-hearted but committed and their relationship was divine.
Joss had issues that were still lurking under the surface but this was matched by the fact that Paul was still baring the scars of a relationship that left him nursing a broken heart – it is never the case that two soul are destined to meet with a clean slate – all the best couples baggage. And they did grow into a super couple, they held nothing back and I thank them for that.
Over and above the awesomeness that is Paul and Joss what else is there in the book, well let me tell you that there is more going on this book that you could possibly imagine – it has a whole heap of angst and issues.
Separately they have issue that they have to face but together the things that make them sit up and take notice are far from trivial. This is the reason why I rate this book so highly – it is one that you just cannot put down, it refuses to take a back seat and you would be silly to expect it too.
I loved this book, it took me by the hand and refused to let go until it was ready. It opened my heart and mind to the troubles and tribulations that it wanted me to explore and I have to say I loved every minute.
Superb

Paul works as an escort. Joselyn is as an undercover FBI agent. You can imagine the difficulties, right? When Paul finds out hes getting a new roommate from Saddles & Racks named Andy, he assumes it's a guy working as an escort just like him and just like his previous roommate who moved out and to be with just one woman. Instead it's "Andi with an I" (Joselyn's undercover name) and she barges in and turns his world upside down. He immediately loves her sassy-ness and spunky attitude.

From the time they first meet, Paul stops sleeping with his "dates". He doesn't want anyone but Andi. For the first time in a very long time, he wants something real with someone. The last time he thought he was getting something real, it was stolen from him and his heart was broken.

Joselyn chose her career because of something that happened to her when she was 17. Her entire focus is on this job she's been sent to do as an escort undercover. She doesn't expect to feel anything for Paul considering she hasn't felt anything for any man since that fateful day years go.

Wanting to be with someone special is new to both of them, but they both also have quite a bit of baggage to get over if they're going to be good together. That means revealing secrets that haven't been told to anyone else. Then of course, just like it always does, the past decides to break into their present and try and screw up the happiness their striving so hard for. This time, though, they aren't alone; they have each other.

These characters were so well developed, I felt like they were my good friends. Reading about their pasts hurt me. They both deserve to be happy and loved. This was a great HEA book!
