This is a slow burn with a lot of fun along the way. They make some great new friends too. The story is filled with love.

I have been anxiously awaiting Jamey Moody’s newest book and when I saw that it was a friends to lovers romance I almost squealed with excitement. Friends to lovers just happens to be my most favorite trope and I was stoked to read a signature Moody sweet, tender and steamy sapphic romance with my favorite storyline! The Ultimate Pitch was everything I’d hoped for and more. This was a deliciously sweet and wonderfully heartwarming sapphic romance where two best friends are finally honest with each other and themselves about their true feelings…so good!
Randi and Eden have been besties for 13 years and truly prioritize their friendships above all else. In fact, they are both so terrified of the possibility of jeopardizing their friendship that they have both suppressed their true feelings for years. The book opens with Randi giving a friend pitch to a bar full of eligible female bachelorettes for her bff Eden. Randi is a fantastic sales woman and has worked for many companies in one capacity or another pitching clients of all sorts…she can pitch anything and sell ice to an eskimo so she decides to help her friend out and pitch how great she is! It works and Eden embarks on several dates with a few really great women…of course they are doomed to fail since she is in love with Randi but just won't admit it to herself. Eden works for Hook, Line and Reader and company that represents indie authors and a lot of great sapphic authors! She works in finance as she takes comfort and refuge in rules, order, dependability and stability. Randi, on the other hand, is a fly by the seat of her pants adventurer. She loves to try new things and often convinces Eden to come along.
This book was just super cute and I was so happy to watch Eden and Randi be confronted with their ever growing feelings for each other. Randi was jealous of every date Eden went on and it was so endearing. Along the way Randi agrees to come and work for Hook, Line and Reader along with Eden and things really change as they are spending even more time together. Although, I will say I appreciated their little friend group a great deal. Had it not been for the encouragement of Cari, Annalise and Tennie, I’m not sure that these two would have gotten out of their own way long enough to take the chance. Eden and Randi do eventually find their way together and it was so satisfying to read. They were made for each other and complimented one another perfectly. Eden brings stability to Randi’s life and Randi brings the craziness we all need time and again. I really was rooting for them all along and was so happy to watch them go for it, admitting that they loved each other and had for a long time! Swoon!! Their first intimate scene was done to perfection. It was very steamy but also tender and made me truly believe in their love. Though there may have been a bump in the road in the form of self doubt, these women and their love prevailed and made my heart smile.
The writing was exactly as I’d expected from Jamey Moody and that is to say really awesome. This book was written through the lens of someone who understands the complexities of the heart and I appreciate that so much. I loved the signature steamy, emotional and tender story and found the writing to be clear and easy to read. I devoured this book in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. I really loved the dialogue between not only our main characters but all of the supporting characters as well. These great ladies created a very enviable family vibe and I found myself wishing I could go work at Hook, Line na Reader or just be a part of their friend group somehow lol! The dialogue between Eden and Randi was so beautiful and I could see how much they loved and respected each other from page one. I loved the two of them so much and was delighted they got their well deserved happy ending!
Overall, this book is a fun and wonderfully tender friends to lovers sapphic romance. There is so much to like about this story and you will fall in love right along with Eden and Randi. The Ultimate Pitch is a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a character rich, heartwarming love story.

Randi and Eden have been best friends for many years, after they both moved to Dallas after college and didn’t know anyone. Randi is a marketing genius, outgoing, loud, but also affectionate and loving. She tends to go from job to job, always excelling at her work, but looking for the next big challenge. She is loyal to her bestie Eden, but has also been harbouring a secret attraction to her for a long while.
Eden is a steady influence in contrast to Randi’s mercurial nature. Eden has been head of finance at the small book promotion company Hook, Line and Reader for a long time, and with her friend and boss Analise they have been trying to head-hunt Randi for many years. When the company is pitching to independent author Cari DeWare, Randi is brought on board temporarily to give the pitch to Cari in the hope of enticing her onboard.
Over the past years they have both dated, but none of the relationships have lasted; in some cases the reason given was that their friendship was overshadowing the budding relationship with other women. Now, Randi is pitching Eden publicly, trying find her a good girlfriend. But Randi’s own feelings ultimately get in the way.

The Ultimate Pitch by Jamey Moody is everything I love about a friends-to-lovers romance. The relationship between the main characters feels authentic from the very beginning, making every shared moment, lingering glance, and emotional revelation all the more meaningful.

A slow-burn friends-to-lovers story. Both tropes are not my favorite but this is such an easy and sweet read that I had no problem flying through this book.
The friends-to-lovers trope is presented in a rather realistic way. Both MCs admitted they had something for each other at some point early in their relationship but they agreed to keep it as a friendship at the time. 10 years later, things change, and that’s when we meet them. So it’s not out of the blue for any of them and it’s not unrealistic like other books where a friend suddenly develops romantic feelings (which is why I never bought into this trope).
However, the slow-burn pace of this romantic plot was just too slow for my liking. I know many people enjoy slow-burn and even prefer it. I am not one of them. Having said that, I still enjoyed this book because the writing was light and warm-hearted (Moody signature style). I dare say, this book got me thinking I need to learn two-step… where is the world coming to? :) LOL
This is a light, fun, and easy-to-read book. Highly recommended for lovers of said tropes 🙂

Jamey Moody has written a delightful friends-to-lovers romance. Eden and Randi have been best friends since college. Eden is the financial exec for Hook, Line and Reader, a marketing firm for indie authors and Randi is a marketing genius who Eden has been trying to get to work for her company. But Randi doesn’t like to stay in one place for too long. Both Eden and Randi have had feelings for each other for years but have been afraid to ruin their friendship. Eden wants to find "her person" so Randi comes up with “The Ultimate Pitch” to find Eden dates. Eden goes on several dates, but never feels any sparks. The supporting cast of characters can all see what Eden and Randi can’t. This is such a fun story! There are bars (of course there are) and there’s dancing …lotsa two-steppin’! Grab a copy and see where “The Ultimate Pitch” takes Eden and Randi!
Jamey Moody never fails to bring the sweet heartfelt romance, with some steam of course, that everyone just seems to be looking for, but just didn’t know it. If you’ve never read one of Jamey’s books, this is the perfect place to start! I’ve yet to be disappointed by one of her books.

A Wonderful Best Friends To Lovers Romance!
Two best friends, one on hold from dating as the other keeps striking out. Eden has had her last bad date. As she is again explaining to Randi what went wrong, Randi tells her she will take over and plans a “Pitch A Friend” for Eden. The pitch itself landed several women who chatted with Eden and several numbers were exchanged. As happy as Randi was, something weird was going on with her. As for Eden, she was keeping up with several women and dates. Some of the women, Eden brought around to their own group. With all that was going on, Randi also was making a change and that was to temporarily go to work with Eden and her partner Analise helping with a pitch to Cari Deware. A possible client they are trying to land who then seems to have an interest in Randi. Therefore now Eden is having some weird things going on. But what everyone seems to know and understand, Eden & Randi are not quite getting it. The story is good and funny. All the characters in this book are needed and play well off each other but Eden & Randi have this chemistry that causes everyone to see what’s between them and Eden’s cat, Letty. What a charmer. There is a loyalty that each woman has for each other. This is two people who truly have each other’s back. Jamey has created two main characters that draw you into their lives and has you rooting for their happiness. Loved It!

I think we’ve all read sapphic fiction with the unrequited love of the straight best friend. Well Jamey Moody took that concept and twisted it a bit where both best friends are lesbians, they just don’t realize that they are each others’ perfect woman.
Randi is a whiz at marketing, so why not use those skills to pitch dating Eden her best friend to a room full of lesbians. And it goes remarkably well with Eden getting a lot of interest, except maybe Randi doesn’t just want to be her best friend afterall.
The dates that Eden went on you could just tell there wasn’t ever chemistry, which made it all the easier for her to realize that maybe she was looking the wrong place for the love of her life.
I did find the “dating might ruin our friendship” a bit repetitive, but I do think that it would be a huge concern after being friends for so long.
The cast of characters were well developed and I think we could see a few more connections come from the friend group.

I didn't enjoy this as much as I'd hoped because:
1. The whole thing feels deeply shallow. Even for my romance novels, I like a little meat on the bones, rather than bare-bones plot and conversation after conversation about the main characters and why they won't get together.
2. There is literally no conflict here except that the main characters are afraid to express their feelings despite being incredibly close friends for a decade.
3. Every single character is deeply (some might say frustratingly intimately) invested in the main characters' relationship. Nobody has a single other thing going on, which always frustrates me in a romance book.
This was a quick and easy read about two people who just need to get over it and spare everyone the nonsense. There is literally no development and no reason why they suddenly decide that platonic friendship is not sufficient after a decade of it being just fine, so I had a tough time being invested at all.

This is cleverly written friends to lovers story filled with fun, laughter, a bit of angst and some terrific heat. Jamey is an entertaining writer and here she is using tongue in cheek as a basis for the story. The characters are delightful, a financial executive, her boss, the owner of an Author marketing firm and a marketing wizard all work to get a new author on board. Where is the love? Between old friends the numbers woman and the marketing wizard! There is so much fun in reading this story.
The setting is Texas, several fun bars and a cast of minor characters that is mind boggling yet so necessary. I won’t give away the story, you just will have to read it! I am sure you will love it as much as I have.

It's just so wonderful to read a Jamey Moody book. She always puts me in a good mood because there may be some self-doubt between characters, but there is really no conflict or evil, just plain joy and love. The main characters of financial executive Eden and marketing exec extraordinaire Randi are so likable and lovable. Their journey from friends to more is filled with fun, humor, and real sensitivity. The secondary cast of characters added so much to the story and made this reader anxious for more about each of them.Looks like the Ultimate Catch will be out this fall and I'll be ready! I encourage you to grab a copy of Eden and Randi's story now for your ultimate enjoyment!!!

Another fun, feel good rom com from Jamie Moody.

This was a truly enjoyable friends to lovers book. Randi and Eden are the best of friends. They're such good friends they're unable to see they could each be the person they're meant to be with, even though those around them see it. It was nice to watch the slow journey from mere friendship to love. This book is well written, low on the angst, and has very likeable characters. I look forward to seeing more of this eclectic friend group in a future release.

Another beautiful story by Moody.
Whenever I pick up a book by this author i know I’m gonna smile. This one had me hooked from page one, I only put it down to sleep! Which was an inconvenience I’ll tell you. Couldn’t wait to read the last few chapters.

Wow jamey moody does it again, I absolutely loved the main characters their chemistry was on point, the way they navigated obstacles together, scared for their long friendship as they understand their person is right infront of them, the depth of each character was flawless making you fall in love with them while keeping you hooked from the first page till last, I couldn't put it down one of my favourite by Jamey Moody its a must-read congratulations

Great friends to lovers story. While Randi tries to pitch her best friend Eden to other women to date they really needed to be pitching each other. As new friendships are forged others have to help these friends see what everyone else does. Lots of great characters which I believe we may see again.

Don’t Miss The Ultimate Pitch
Wow. The Ultimate Pitch was so good. Such a warm and loving story. I do hope this is a series because I fell in love with All the characters and not just the MC’s.

Another sweet and tender love story by Jamey Moody. Eden and Randi are best friends. They know each other - the good bad and ugly. Everyone can see they belong together. It just takes them a bit longer to figure it out! A great friends to lovers romance.

Bland
The only thing worse than a bad book is a boring one. The pacing was off, the dialogue was repetitive, and the story not at all engaging.
It’s the equivalent of elevator music.

Cute story but not one of my favorites. Was an easy ready and could relate to characters but the story seemed drawn out.

I love Jamey Moody’s books! They are always “feel good” books & always with a HEA!
Randi and Eden are best friends and have been since college. Randi is very good at marketing and she gets this wild idea to market Eden to try to get her a date(s) to try to find her “person.”
Both of them have had relationships over the years but have never found their “person” to spend the rest of their life with.
The secondary characters are very supportive and observe things that Eden and Randi try to bury and ignore, yet they are very supportive. You’ll really want to see how it turns out and love every minute of it!
It is a very enjoyable book that is free from anger, griping, angst and back biting. A book you really will want to read when it comes out.
