Drifters #5

Whispers of Home

Rate this book
There is a timeworn honor in battle. But sometimes the weariness of war changes the landscape, and those fighting the war lose their perspective. They make choices that open old wounds and have the potential to harm rather than save.

In Whispers of Home, Jessie Wheeler finally gets back to work. But distance from Josh and intimate work with Jacob challenge the newfound strength she earned from the salty Prince Edward Island breeze.

Left to his own devices, Josh decides to investigate yet another old red thread from Jessie’s past, when she was homeless and struggling for survival in Vancouver’s seedy Downtown Eastside neighborhood. What he finds shocks yet captivates him, and he journeys into his shadow side, discovering truths about both Jessie and himself that have the power to destroy the foundation they are trying so desperately to build.

Well, I used to be a museum curator but now I'm a writer and a filmmaker! Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do what you want in life - my mantra is 'if you believe it, you can achieve it!'

The Drifters Series was supposed to start out as three books but has expanded to fifteen. The Dallas White Series is growing, and I just completed my first feature film, Still The Water. My mother always said I had my head in the clouds - I guess she was right! I do love to 'imagine,' and am now working on a new book (Dallas, three) and a new screenplay (Kristian's Cross). Oh, and did I tell you the Drifters series has been optioned for television? Can't wait to see where that lands!

I live with my partner Stephen and my striped cat Oliver (Lucy Maud Montgomery once said the only good cat is a striped cat!) in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada, and I make frequent trips to Vancouver to visit my son Christopher and his sweet puppy, Winston.

"Music has the power to heal" - music, a great cuppa joe...and maybe love...

It's getting a little old

Josh shouldn't have to prove himself to Charles. And I Haye that everyone he's Josh. Kinda getting stale. And this thing with Jacob gotta go.

Each book get better. Hoping the end of 12 is as good as one six. Onto the next one. Love all the angle and beautiful Canadian scenes.
