I’m so happy I picked up this series on Kickstarter! Willowmere has been so fun to get to know!
Scales & Sequins is a really good addition to the series. Unlike the other books, it began with a female lead who I didn’t think I would enjoy reading because she seemed so shallow. But Coralyn surprised me with her depth of character and growth throughout the book! And the exterior personality of her chosen love isn’t what it seems in the beginning either.
But this book is less about character growth (although it definitely has a good share of that!) and more about the layers and facades people have and what it means to peal them back, for yourself and for others. And the descriptions of the beautiful clothing were a lot of fun too!
