Part 1

Rebecca Martin is running a successful accounting/marketing firm in Houston with her business partner and friend Parker. She's in her mid-thirties and has put off having a personal life in order to make sure her professional life is a success. With the encouragement of Parker she can't help but notice a certain younger and attractive employee, Jason. It doesn't help that he won't stop flirting with her.

But Rebecca can't stop thinking about her one true love that got away. Even though she and Kade never really had much of a relationship, she was totally in love with him. Now any man who comes along and tries to vie for her affections never really stands a chance because they are always compared to Kade. This includes Jason.

One night she goes out for dinner with Parker and then hangs out with Jason and a few other employees from the office for drinks. While in the bar she notices a stranger that looks very familiar, but as she tries to get a better look he keeps disappearing. As they make eye contact across the bar she's almost positive that the stranger is in fact Kade, but he leaves before she can verify that.

Part 2

Rebecca has to meet a new contractor for her home and agrees to have Jason tag along and pretend to be her boyfriend. Jason's family is in the construction business and he felt he could help her deal with the new contractor since the others have been nightmares for her. Jason continues to flirt with Rebecca, which seems to get her all hot and bothered. The moment Jason decides to kiss her, she hears that voice again that she knows so well...Kade. She finally gets to see Kade again. He's just become the new contractor on her house.

She thought the minute Kade came back to town, he'd profess his love and they'd live happily ever after. Unfortunately she comes to the realization that she was in love with the Kade that she dreamed about. In reality the real Kade was nothing like the one in her dreams. She realizes she's attracted to Jason, but is having difficulty getting over the fact that he's 22 and she's 34. Plus he does work for her company and she can't afford to loose him because he's an excellent accountant.

Who does she choose?? Maybe going on a business trip with Jason will help make up her mind. And if that doesn't work she's agreed to have dinner with Kade to hear him out.

Part 3

Parker was in charge of making all of the arrangements for Rebecca and Jason's business trip. So when they are given a sports car to drive and one bedroom at the hotel to share, how long can they keep things professional? Rebecca has dinner with Jason and talks things out with him. Finally she decides to give things a try with Jason, but she also knows she has to meet with Kade to talk to him. But when Jason spots them having dinner together he automatically thinks the worst. Can they work through this misunderstanding in order to give their relationship a real chance?

Overall I give this series 3 stars. This was an enjoyable read. I don't feel that I ever connected with the characters, but the story was engaging enough to keep me reading to find out who she would end up with. I'm okay with the ending, but really thought she was going to end up with the other guy. I liked her brother-like relationship with Parker. It was nice for her to have someone to lean on and talk to. Poor guy really had it rough with two wives cheating on him. If Ms. West writes his story I'd definitely be interested in reading it because I really hope he finds his HEA.

I decided to write one review for the entire series of Baited by Ali Parker. The series consist of three, very short, parts involving the same story/characters. I am not sure as to why it was broken down in three parts. I read the entire series in about 90 minutes so even together it is a very short read.

Baited is the story Becca, a late 30 something year-old owner of a company. She has put her career before anything else and is very successful at what she does. Part of the reason she does so is because of the guy who broke her heart from high school many years ago. Kade & Becca were best friends but as soon as they started to become more Kade took off to California and she never saw him again. Ever since no man can come close to Kade so Becca focuses on work. Becca begins to date a young 20-something from her office, Jason. He is extremely into her and she wants to be into him but the age thing makes her a bit nervous. This is when Kade comes back in to the picture and Becca needs to decide who she wants.

Though the book has a really great set up for great romance novel it fell a little flat to me. Kade is this guy Becca has been thinking about for years, yet he is in like three scenes total in the book. He was all mystery and I have no idea what he was like. I knew right away who Becca would chose with how the story going. There was no suspense. Kade's character needed to be more developed. I think the problem is the book was simply too short. I enjoyed the idea of the book and Ali Parker is making her way into becoming a great author but there just wasn't enough story or depth to the characters to give the reader much of anything.

With that said, I really hope this series can be retouched and given more depth because I really enjoyed the synopsis and the idea of it. There wasn't really a love triangle either and that left me disappointed. I would definitely reread this again if changes were made.

I give Baited, Part 1, 2 & 3, by Ali Parker 2 stars.

Book Review - Baited by Ali Parker - 3 ½ why were these ever novellas stars

I’m going to start with my major bugbear about these books and that is, that originally these were three little novellas. Now to me a novella has to be either a) a serial with lots of twists and turns which leaves you on a cliffhanger in each part b) an addendum to an existing series where the author didn’t feel there was enough content for a full book or c) a short fully contained novella. Baited was none of these and I feel if I had read the first as a novella, I wouldn’t have bothered with the other parts. As it was, I was given the full series to read via Netgalley and so I read all three parts in one sitting.

The premise of the story is this, Rebecca is a successful businesswoman but she’s always been plagued by the one that got away.Sixteen years ago, Kade left without a backwards glance and Rebecca has been stuck in limbo romantically since, comparing everyone to her great lost love in her head.

Jason works for Rebecca and makes it known that he is interested in more. As Rebecca starts to open herself up to the possibility, Kade comes back into town looking for another chance.

I liked the premise of the story. That she would pine for this ‘dream’ version of the boy who left her behind, and how she really feels when he turns back up. How she worries about the age gap between her and Jason who is twelve years younger than her, and showing us how living your life guarded can stilt you.

Certain parts of the story though had me rolling my eyes. Her apparent amazing pheromones so that when there was a young single man within sniffing distance, they always cracked onto her. Yeah, not buying this one at all. Her female sidekick was pretty one dimensional, we didn’t really find much out about her and I didn’t think she added anything at all to the story.

This is the first book I have read by Ali Parker and I thought it was a pretty well written little story. She just needs to put some flesh on the bones of her side characters in future, and stop chopping up books that should be just one book.

(Thanks to Ali Parker, Good Tales Book Tours, and NetGalley for the chance to read an ARC of Baited for an honest review)

Baited by Ali Parker is the first book I've read by this author and I am happy I picked it up. A serial about Rebecca Martin, a woman in her thirties who has become successful business-wise and is a new home-owner of a custom-built lake house. Her dreams are coming true except she doesn't have anyone to share her happiness with. Still hung up over the one that got away, Kade McMillian, Rebecca finally starts to move on and begins a relationship with a younger employee who works for her, Jason.

Jason is sweet, patient, and he really is what Rebecca needs. I also loved Parker and Rebecca's relationship. They're so caring and supportive to each other as friends.

Overall this was a great book and I highly recommend.

Recieved this series for a honest review from netgalley.com

Rebecca is a 30 year old woman who has a very hard choice to make, she has two men that want her but who will she choose there's Kade he is gorgeous and the man she's been crushing on for years or there's Jason who is sweet kind and generally a really nice man the only thing about Jason is he is a lot younger than her and also he is her employee. Kade left her 16 years ago and she never really got over him then he comes back and wants to get with her but she really likes Jason but don't know if she can cope with the age difference she has a tough choice to make but who will it be?. I really enjoyed this series and couldn't put it down

3.75 star rating

This was a difficult story to rate for me. I liked the premise of the story, the woman stuck in between the man she shouldn't want and the one who got away. What would life have been if she had the man she compared all other to? So the story itself got a good 4 stars. The writing was also quite goos, it kept the story moving enough to keep me reading so that got a 4 star rating. Where this story fell down for me personally is I just didnt connect to the characters, they felt shallow in places and I didnt always like them. This gave the book a rating of 3 stars....so my average is 3.75 stars.

I'm not a huge fan of age-gap romances, but I like them more when the woman is older.

What I didn't like was the fact we have another woman (I just read about onein a Weston Parker book) who apparently put all her teenaged hopes on a high school boyfriend who crushed her little teenaged heart. (This happened in a previous book starring this couple. A book I have not read.)

The operative word here is teenaged.

This woman is now in her early 30's.

I could see feeling some kind of way about life and love if that teenaged heartbreak led her to do something that effed-up her life--which would still only be her fault for making a poor decision--but can we not have these women pining away for, like, 15 years? Sheesh.

The other thing I didn't like was how their back-and-forth gave me whiplash. First, Rebecca is upset because she wants Jason to move in with her (not that she ever mentioned it to him), then when he does bring it up, she acts like that's not what she wants at all. She decides she's too old to "risk everything" on loving this guy who is 12 years younger than her...she has to protect her heart (not that she ever really sits down and hashes this out with him, or believes him when he reassures her that he's not going anywhere); but then when Jason starts to think that maybe he needs to protect his own heart, Rebecca gets upset because he's pulling away.

What the...What?

Ugh.

They eventually get their shit together, but they gave me a headache in the process.

I would've liked to see something with Parker, though. Maybe even Parker with Natalie...

Rebecca had made something of herself opening up a company with her partner. But, deep down inside she still misses her time with Kade but it’s been 16 years since he was gone. She always thought someday she would be married to him and had children but that wasn’t going to happen she had no idea where he was now. Her partner Parker was kidding around with her when she tells him to find Jason the young guy to find a women. Parker thought that Rebecca would be great for him. She told Parker she couldn’t even think about it besides being the boss he was only 22 years old and she was 34 years old. Kade comes back into town after all these years and to her surprise he was her contractor. She took Jason to the house with her and then she sees Kade. Rebecca was having mixed feeling because Kade was not the same man that left. Meanwhile Jason is really pushing things with Rebecca they go out of town for business. When they got home she knew she was meeting with Kade for dinner to sort things out. Will Rebecca go back with Kade after he confesses he love her back then but was afraid to let her know or will she try to have a relationship with Jason?

I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Baited: Rebecca and Jason by Ali Parker and this review was given freely.
An ironic and rocky second chance at love story but not the one you might first be expecting. Sixteen years after her high school best friend and crush Kade McMillian left town, successful Huston, Texas business woman Rebecca Martin must choose between Kade and her persistent much younger employee Jason.

Rebecca held on to a fantasy of a life with Kade a guy from her past and wouldn't move forward. Kade returning allowed her to see that the felt nothing for him. She took a chance with Jason, a much younger guy who is her employee.
Narrator did a good job.

I'm a huge fan of Ali Parker but Baited left me wanting more. Three short parts complete the Baited Series. I really enjoyed Ali's writing and the premise behind the book- A successful woman torn between wanting the one she shouldn't and the one who got away. I just felt there was more to all of it that we didn't get- I think if Ali added a little more meat to the bones of this story, it would make for one epic romantic tale!

Rebecca is a strong successful woman who owns her own business but the only thing missing in her life is love. This is due to the fact that she's still hung up on the one that got away- Kade. However, her friends think she needs to move on and take more risks...for example Jason, her smart, sexy, younger employee. There's an attraction there, and he's made it known what he wants, but still Rebecca is hung on his age. Then Kade enters her life again when he becomes the contractor for her house. Is he really the one that got away or is what she remembers of him just an infatuated version of him?

Another great book from Ali Parker. Becca grew up with Kade and once they graduated he spread his wings and left for California. Becca has been in love with Kade said nice they were growing up and has not let another man near her heart. Jason who works for her begins to show an interest and she thinks about letting him in and the Kade shows up...... what will happen?!? Is she still in love with Kade or can Jason break down the walls. Great read and highly recommend.

Usually I summarize the book before I get into my review but I'm not going to do that today. I just want to get to all of the deets and then get out. This is the second series that I've read by Ali Parker and probably my last. I've found that these books are just not written for me and are better suited to someone else. What kind of someone else? I have no clue, to be honest. Once again, this author has managed to irritate me with typos and (what I think is) a strange way of writing but I'll get into that in a little while.

From the very beginning of this series I was largely confused. I just read the series Jaded by Ali Parker and there was a character named Kade. Now this character didn't have a big part, it was super small but much to my surprise, there was a pretty big character in this one named Kade as well. In no way was it stated or hinted at the fact that these were the same person. No matching details were given about either character and I'm just not understanding why an author would use a name twice unless it was the same person but if it IS the same person, why wouldn't any of the personal details match up? It was very confusing and I found that this was quite distracting when you're trying to get into a book but instead you're analyzing every sentence trying to see if there is some connection that you're missing.

I have one more tiny nitpick before I move on. I lived most of my life in Oklahoma City ... that's my hometown and it's not Southern Southern but it's Southern ... does that make sense? Well, almost 8 years ago, my husband and I moved our kiddos down to Houston. Now, Houston is Southern. A common word in our vernacular is the infamous Y'ALL. I've said this word (much to the horror of my mom (a teacher)) for pretty much my entire life but it is almost a religion down here in Houston. Anyhow ... y'all is a contraction of two words: you and all. I'm not going to get into the rules for contractions but the apostrophe (in most cases) goes where the letters are removed. It is y'all. Does it look weird, yes. Does it really matter that the author got it wrong? No ... but it was the typo that broke the camel's back.

On to the meat of the story ... basically, the story felt disjointed. This book had a pretty interesting blurb and I had such high hopes but unfortunately, it didn't deliver on hardly any level. The story felt shallow, if that makes sense. There wasn't any grit to it, I didn't feel like I knew the characters or their wants/needs/motivations, and it was a little boring. I expected some steamy romance but what I got instead was a tepid romance that took a backseat to the Parker sub-plot. And no, I don't mean the author ... there is a character named Parker. I won't get into the name thing again but it feels a tad familiar ... Anyway. This Parker sub-plot was an attention hog. I was completely confused as to why this character was taking up so much page space when I would have loved to have learned a little more about our main character and what the heck was going on with her.

I'm going to just leave it at that. I won't be picking up another Ali Parker novel. Fool me once, shame on you ... fool me twice and I'm a damn idiot. Well, this idiot is on to another novel, y'all.

Baited 1
Interesting start! Rebecca is a very successful business woman. Owning her own business with her best friend Parker. She has everything but a love life. She worked so hard on her firm that her love life has taken a back seat.
She is struggling with the attraction she has for one of her younger employees Jason but he is way to young. He is 22 and she is 34. That's twelve years. There is no way she is getting involved with a baby and the way she still thinks about Kade.
Kade is her best friend from High school. She was totally in Love with him but their relationship was never more then a few kisses. He went off to bigger things and she went her own way. He left her with not even a thought. How could he do that? 16 years she hasn't seen him. He is probably married and with kids but that doesn't stop her from wondering where he is and what he looks like now older.
One night at the bar she and parker eating and discussing his marriage. They run into Jason. after a few "moments", She needs out of there before she makes a huge mistake and then she thinks she sees Kade. Was that her imagination or was it really him? or could she have a relationship with Jason?

This book is the first in a short story series. It draws you in because the situations are real life issues and the characters you can relate to. I recommend for everyone. excellent book.

Baited pt 2
Book two picks up right were one left off. Rebecca and Jason are on the way to her house that's being built. She is meeting her new contractor. She thinks about kade and Jason comparing them. She and Jason are in her room and he says so boyfriend or brother? she says oh boyfriend and his lips touch hers and then she hears a voice from her past.. omg Kade he is hear.. Is this really happening? Is he really here? Yes he is the contractor. they talk but he is different older, but looks the same.

So does Rebecca chose to be with Kade the blast from the past that she has never forgotten about and broke her heart or does she choose to be with Her Young hot employee that's younger then her?

Great Story. Looking for more. This story is just realistic and I am enjoying and recommend for everyone.

Baited pt 3
Love the ending. what a great short story series. I absolutely loved it.

Book 3 picks up with her being torn between two,Kade and Jason. She decides that she wants to explore if Jason and her could really have the relationship she craves. They are heading to another town for a business meeting and he is going with her and she plans to straighten things out with Kade when she returns.

On the business trip she decides that she wants to be with Jason. He is the love she has been wanting for 16 years. She meets with Kade but things threaten Her relationship. Jason didn't know she was having dinner with Kade. Will Jason forgive her or Will her heart be once again be Broken?

I Denfinitely recommend this Series to everyone. Its a short story that you must read!

Rebecca seems to have it all – success, wealth, a new house – but something’s definitely missing in her life. A man whom she could spend every waking moment and sleeping hour with. A man strong enough for both of them. A man who will fulfill her darkest fantasies.

There are two posibilities for her – Kade McMillian, the hotshot lad she’d been pining for during her younger years, Kade hasn't contacted her in 16 long years.

And then there’s Jason, her younger colleague, way younger than her for about 12 years. He’s got the looks, the determination and yes, the body, too. But still, he’s too young for her… Or is he?

It seems that Rebecca and Jason are getting closer together, especially right after Jason volunteered to help her in her new house. But surprise, surprise, someone from the past came back and Rebecca’s future doesn’t look that bright anymore.

Yes, Kade finally makes an appearance in Rebecca’s life. He happens to be the contractor of the house she’s getting built. He’s still the hot gorgeous man she’s been crushing since high school. And now, he wants to start dating her again. Surely, she should be jumping up and down after seeing the man of her dreams. But on the contrary, Rebecca isn’t having any of it. She often asks herself, why now? Why does Kade have to show up when things are getting better with her and Jason. Her heart cries out Jason’s name but her mind thinks of Kade.

With Kade and Jason, oh well, to tell you the truth, I’ll easily pick Jason for Rebecca. Who cares if he’s younger than her? That man is inlove and is out to prove his feelings for her. Age doesn’t matter in love, as they say. But Becca still can’t decide which man to choose.

I really liked how this series ended. Actually, I noticed I liked a lot of things in this book. Firstly, the way Rebecca often talked to herself and answered herself in the process. I liked that her friendship with Parker was platonic, like a sister confiding to a brother and vice versa. I liked how easily he and Rebecca throw banters at each other while still maintaining closeness at a friendship level. I would love to have a friend like Parker.

I also liked that Rebecca finally found the courage to settle her differences with Kade, and Jason .. oh my, what else am I going to say about Jason? I think he’s perfect! Hell, if I weren’t married to my husband, I might as well pick him for myself, don’t care if he’s 10 years younger than me. :)

This was really a feel-good story, very light-hearted and sweet. Rebecca is one helluva woman and ALi Parker is crazy brilliant! The author sure knows how to keep the dice rolling! I was really impressed with Ms Parker’s writing and she writes a wonderfully romantic story, complete with some quirky, dashing characters that every reader would surely love. This is by far my favorite book this month! I’m loving this series more and more.

BOOK ONE
I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review....
this is the fist book in a series of three and I have to say I am very intrigued by this first book.

Rebecca is a 30something that owns her own business but has never been married and has never really had a serious relationship, but she is having feelings for the young intern from her work, but she thinks starting anything with him would be wrong A because she is his boss and B there is a 12 year age gap between them with her being the older of the two.

After a night out with Jason the intern Rebecca almost makes the mistake of going home with him when in the bar she thinks she sees Kade her highschool crush/bestfriend and it brings up all the old feelings she had for him and the thoughts on why he never made a move on her in high school.

What will Rebecca do, act on her attraction to Jason or will the mystery man she thinks is Kade be her priority????

Cant wait to read book two.....

BOOK TWO
book two picks up right where book on ended with Jason bring Rebecca to her house that is being built and guess who the new contractor is???? That's right its Kade and he wants to get together with Rebecca and talk about the last 16years that he has been away. But the funny thing is that Rebecca does not have any of the feelings that she thought she would for Kade, in fact her attractions are leaning towards Jason but she is still having a hard time with the fact that he works for her and the age difference. When Rebecca goes out for a night on the town with her best friend Trisha she is surprised that she has invited Kade, but the night is interrupted when Parker calls Rebecca with a relationship crisis.
I think that book three is going to see Parker somehow vie for Rebeccas love as well as Jason and Kade...but who will she choose

BOOK THREE
received a book form the author for an honest review....

The conclusion to Rebecca story was amazing....she finally chooses one of the men who want her, I was really hoping it would be her business partner and best friend Parker, but no such luck. When Rebecca goes to tell the man she did not choose that there is no them, the one she did choose sees it and walks away.

Will the relationship be over as its starting???will Rebecca remain alone???

Rebecca Martin is finally getting some of the things she has wanted most in life. Now over thirty, she is getting a house, is a partner in a successful business, and has men chasing her from several corners.

The only thing she has not gotten is Kade McMillian, a best friend from high school who is still at the front of her thoughts. She wonders what has become of him? Where is he? Is he happy? This all bothers her - along with the feeling it was all left unsettled.

She has someone showing interest in her now, a young man who works at her company. Becca is uncertain to go there. He is about 12 years younger, for one, and for another she is technically his boss. How would that look?

Rebecca gets her chance to talk to Kade McMillian whom she has thought herself in love with since high school. She has not had a real relationship because of her hang ups over him.

Then she met Jason, who is also her employee. He has real feelings for her and asks that she give him a chance. She gives in and they go on a work trip together alone to see if this is what they want.

Jason is really all that she has ever wanted. If only he were closer in age to her and not her employee. She is being encouraged to date him by everyone around her, but is reluctant to cause the company a bad reputation.

When she finally gets her dinner with Kade, Jason happens to walk in and see them together. Since she never told him what was going on - he thinks the worst. Can true love conquer all? Can the honest feelings be love? I found it compelling and was hard to put down!

Thanks to Netgalley for ARC

It was 3 1/2 star..
This is about relationship between two people except woman is older.
There is nothing wrong with older man dating way younger man but when older woman dates younger man they are called so many different names.
Rebecca is a successful business woman but not so lucky in love. Her first love in high school really did number on her. Her dates were always compared to Kade and she couldn't date anyone long enough to actually falling in love. She was still in love of the idea of Kade.
Rebecca is working with Jason who is much younger than she is and he is showing interested on her but she couldn't go out with him because of his age. she still thinks of him as a kid. Jason was an old soul who understood her and willing to do anything for her.
Trouble starts when Rebecca's new house needs new contractor. She really had strings of bad lucks with contractors and Jason offer to meet her new contractor since he knew thing or two about it. He was willing to be a boyfriend or a brother depending on a situation.
Viola, Kade was her new contractor and things gets confusing for her. She was dreaming of the day when she will meet Kade again but her old feelings for him and her new feelings for Jason is mixed. Rebecca needs to find what she wants and if she will trust her heart.
It was fun to read and i loved Parker and Jason. Those boys were so good to Rebecca. I could understand why Rebecca couldn't really fall in love right away.

**I was provided an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. I did not receive any compensation for providing my opinion.**

Another homerun by Ali Parker!!!! Baited (Full Series) is an addicting novella series that is full of chemistry, lust, friendship and angst. It is also a series about letting go of preconceived ideals and embracing what is in front of us. I loved this series and cannot wait to see what this author comes out with next.

Baited is about Rebecca Martin, a thirty something business owner who had been struggling in relationships due to her past. She is torn between two men – Kade, her best friend from childhood that up and left after graduation without a word since, and Jason, a twenty something employee at her firm that is very hot for her. With the support of her two closest friends, she navigates her feelings for both men.

The storyline flowed nicely and while the description of this series leads the reader to believe that this is a traditional love triangle full of angst, I found that this wasn’t as much of a true love triangle. This book was more about letting go of the past and embracing the now. The characters in this book were great and the dynamics between them were spot on.

I would recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a romance that is a quick read and offers a little bit of everything.

I loved the story and the characters in this book. I do have a couple of complaints, but nothing major. First, Rebecca's name changes from Martin to Miller a few times in the book and a few typos. The typos aren't enough to completely destroy the story. I'm just OCD lol. Oh, and I wish that there were more details in the "steamy" scenes, but that just me. Overall this was a terrific story. You have Rebecca, who has grown up to be a successful business woman. She has been pining for the love of her life for 16 years after he just up and left her. She works with a very attractive man that is a few years younger that is in love with her. She doesn't want to be a cougar and worries about how she will be perceived if she does start a relationship work. She doesn't want to date a co worker either, but the age thing bothers her most. Shes torn because she's attracted to her coworker and her past flame moves back into the picture professing love and he wants her. Anyways before I give too much away, this book kept me turning pages to see who she would choose and how everything would be in the end. A very enjoyable read(!

ARC provided by netgalley for an honest review. This was cute book. We meet Rebecca who has been in love with Kade for 11 years. He moved right after graduation and she hasn't seen him for 16 years. She has her own company and her star intern Jason who is 12 years younger then her has been in love with her since he first met Rebecca. She is having a house built and had to hire a new contactor and Jason offers to come with her to go over things that need to be fixed. Well she pushes Jason away and shoots him down because she has built Kade up in her head and holding out for him. Rebecca kind of got on nerves when it came to comparing everyone that she dated to Kade. When her and Jason arrive at her house he plays along as her boyfriend. She is hung on the age issue between them and that he works with her. Kade is her new contractor and he is trying to win her back. As the story continues feelings change and Rebecca finally starts to see a future but is it with Kade or Jason. You have to read this book to find out.

I did receive the boxset for my review in exchange for unbiased and honest opinion.

This was one awesome series! I read all three books in one night as they were short reads and I had to keep reading to find out what happened. This book is about falling in love during your child hood. Only the sad part was that Kade up and walked away for 16 years because he wanted to find himself. He never thought to ask or tell her his feeling. She held onto that and dreamed of what it would if Kade returned. She had boyfriends but kept comparing them to Kade so they never worked out. A surprise happened and Kade did return but was it what she thought it would be? She also started falling for someone named Jason that works for her company. She wasn't sure because he was younger and didn't want the office drama. Who did she pick? Well I can't really go into details or it would ruin the read for you!

Rebecca is in her mid 30s and not married. Parker and Trisha are her best friends. Kade is from the Past and Jason is the guy who is going for her CPA.

3,5 stars

Baited is a first book i read from Ali Parker. It was fun quick reading. Nice love story with a sufficient plot and not too much surprises.
In hers 34 Rebecca has achieved everything she wanted in life. The only thing that missing is a man to love and who will loved her back. She herself is the reason for unfortunate in love because all men in her life are compared with Kade, her best friend and secret love from high school years. Kade who broke her heart.
For me personally was constant comparisons Kade with the other mens, and her thinking of what if was a little bit too much and annoying. Then suddenly everything happens quickly and ends up in the last few chapters. I liked the main man character his actions and determination.
I was a bit disappointment because of lack love scene, was really expecting it.
Overall nice quick read.

Rebecca is successful - has great friends, wealth, a new house but no one to share her life with, being in her early thirties she is started to feel the tug in her heart longing for a partner to complete her.

She is still holding on to the image of "the perfect man" being her first love Kade who shattered her young fragile heart when she was only 16 she still thinks he's the only man she can ever love.

A young associate Jason who is 12 years her junior and working for her has been in love with her for a year and trying to win her heart ~ He is sweet and caring, sexy and fun but the age difference is certainly not easy to get over.

As fate has it Kade comes back into her life wanting to pick up where things ended 16 years before.

Will Becca give in to Jason and his charm or will she end up with her first love??

I hate doing this, I truly truly do but this book was just so blah I don't really feel it worth a full star. I was expecting some character depth, there wasn't. I wanted to see sparks, I didn't. Mainly it's shallow people having petty excuses to not date someone, then sleep with them and decide they are the best thing since sliced bread. Maybe if it was 1 story as opposed to a serial of 3 you could have gotten the characters to grow but as it stood. I did not enjoy this. And I feel bad about it, which is worse. Because I wanted to like it, we don't get many older women younger men romances.

Rebecca is a strong successful woman. Now she's ready to have a man in her life, but non compare to the boy she loved in High School who left her shattered on her doorstep. Sixteen years later she's finally ready to let it go and try to find someone to make her happy.

A younger guy in her firm, an employee has been trying to get her attention and thanks to her friends, he's now on her radar. Of course the age is an issue, but with help from her friend she can overcome such a small thing. But what happens when the love of your life comes back and seems to have some regrets how things went down?

Add in best friends, business trips, and hot guys things are sure to get a little fun. I enjoyed it.

I thought this was a great series it shows you that sometimes people aren't who you invisioned them to be. Always comparing that one guy that held your heart so long ago but only to find out later it was a fantasy. When in reality sometimes love is right in your face only you just find reasons it will never work. Career driven Becca had her heart broken because she always wanted more with her best friend who didn't feel the same for her. She doesn't see that everyone is envious of her and all the men would love a shot to be with her but she still has a special place in her heart for the one. I really enjoyed this series thanks netgalley.com and the publisher for letting me review. Reviewing for Night and Day book blog http://ndbbr2014.com Stephanie Powell

Baited was phenomenal!! I loved Rebecca and how she went back and forth with herself about the return of her ex, Kade. I loved her battle over Jason's age as well. I was always Team Jason from the start. I loved how short, sweet and to the point this book was while still giving drama and mystery. Totally awesome read.

Expected and unexpected

I was reluctant about reading this book or series. Which is why it took so long to read it. I love Ali Parker's writing and having read most if not all of her most current books, i gave in. I LOVED this story. I LOVED the characters, especially Justin-I mean come on!! It was sweet and a real unicorn-type of HEA of the attainable kind. I'm so glad I gave in and read it. I'm glad I got the whole series and not individually. That would be the only gripe I would have had. His should have been a whole book instead of 3 parts but I'm sure she had her reasons.
