At twenty-two, I found the greatest love of my life in a hopeless place.
When I took a job as a private nurse to a wealthy white man with an incurable condition, I never expected for sparks to fly. I never expected to fall head over heels in love with him or for him to promise me the world on a silver platter.
But when false accusations were flung my way by his jealous and spiteful mother, we were forced to run away if we wanted to be together. And that's when everything changed...
*Intended for mature readers due to adult situations. A previous version of this story was published as "Julian" by Gia DeLuca. That book is no longer in publication. This is the only available edition.*
Very disappointed in this author. As I started to read, it seems VERY familiar like I've read the EXACT words before. Dug a little in my Goodreads "read" category and voila! I found it. This book is Julian (Beautiful Mine #1) by Gia DeLuca. The two changes in the book are the race of the heroine & the names of the characters. (A Hopeless Place she's dark skinned and in Julian she's light skinned).
For those left behind. Memories become your life line.....
Each other's to worship. Unexpectedly, but suddenly found. Love pledged right now. Forever and always. In sickness and health. Til death do they part.
A Hopeless Place tells the heart gripping love story of Amara and Bennett. Not an easy page turner, but your compelled to do so. This book is filled with as much happiness as there is sadness. There is something to be said for living in the moment. You won't put this book down dry eyed.
Thank you, Coco Jordan for writing such a wonderful book. Hope to see book two soon!
This is my first book by this author. Unfortunately, you cannot get this series on Amazon any longer. I am so glad I got all three books before they disappeared again.
This is Amara and Bennett's story. Amara become Bennett's nurse and helped him to enjoy and live a little. They fall in love and try to enjoy their happiness before tragedy steps in and takes it away from them both.
I was not sure what I was expecting from this story but it had me engrossed and I kept reading. Its not hard to read and very moving.
This book a really refreshing because the storyline was different to what I usually read and I really liked it. I was totally engaged and immediately grabbed the next book to continue the story. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I think the author(s) had to remove them because many readers didn't like the fact that it was the same book previously entitled, Julian (Beautiful Mine #1) by Gia DeLuca. Which also is no longer available on Amazon.
The only difference is the race of the character is now black in this book. I guess this author hopped on the IR train when it first pulled off years ago.
Beautiful and tragic. Not something that I would normally read, as I don't like books about this theme. It was a happy accident reading this book. But you will need a great deal of Kleenex to get through it.
What can be said about it? This is a great read see love from between people knowing they have some strikes against them. Bennett having CF. Never been outside of his room until Arama can into in life. The theory form knew no boundary and let nothing come between them. His parents sucks. This story both out all emotions in you hope love understanding and most of sacrifice on both side . I hate reading books that have parts in them can't wait for part 2
Well, I didn't like and I didn't dislike. 3 Stars based on the premise. Nurse falls in love with dying patient. My neutral view is all because I didn't get enough meat on the bones to care deeply about Amara. And there was so much to Bennett that I waned to know about. I answered my own question. I wanted more of them. And when Bennett dies, dread came. Beau, the brother really?
A true love story between two 20-somethings...he is dying and she is his nurse. Bennett knows he is dying without ever having lived. Amara is his high-spirited nurse who engages life and wants to bring it to Julian. Loved this well written book turns out to be a three book series. Each book tells the story of one of three brothers and how each finds his true love.
The other books in this series are A Love Like His, and A Beautiful Masterpiece.
Wonderful love story but moved too fast! At first she was trying to find her way back to Spencer and the next minute she was in bed with Bennett and the bingo__ married. One would think that being a dedicated nurse's, she would have taken very good care of him. She said she was familiar with his disease. Her drinking did not add to her character. Sorry something about this one doesn't quite make the grade. No Sweat She

This is such a wonderful love story that you can get behind it,and the main characters are two the you can like and support. This is love you just want to cheer and shout. This worth all the time and attention.
I thought it was a little rushed at first, but once I got into the story I loved it! Bennett and Amara had love like no other. I can't wait to read part 2.
This was a really deep book. It had my emotions all over the place. It was a love story but oh did they go through some hardships. I can't wait to read book 2.
