Christy Dilg is a wife and a mother. She works full-time at the local hospital. Her favorite things to do are read, write, listen to music, and spend time with family and friends. When she was in her teens, she told her best friend that she wanted to be a writer. That was the first time she ever spoke the words aloud. Then at the age of 34, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and while battling the treatments she had time to stop and take a good look at her life and accomplishments. Something was missing. It was writing. Christy decided to not only live her life to the fullest, but also to embrace her love for storytelling. She self-published her first novel Sept. 10, 2013 and released a second novel almost a year later. She has interest in writing books from romance to biographies with the hopes of someday being traditionally published. She hopes that her writing inspires others to live their dreams regardless of the outcome. In December 2013, Christy was named to Amazon's Romance Editor's List of Fan Picks for Top Debut Author.
The story Stairs to you by Christy Dilg is a new adult/romance book. This is a beautiful story about best friends and their love for each other. Archer “Dare” Andrews has gone through life with two loves, classic cars and his best friend Atlanta. He, however, has never told her of his feelings not wanting to lose their friendship. Atlanta is a musician who loves her life playing for her fans, writing music, and most of all enjoys being with her best friend Dare. They have been best friends since childhood. Then one night tragedy strikes and puts Atlanta in a coma. Will these two find their way to each other?
I love the characters of Dare and Atlanta. They both share a love of fast cars and Dare works as a mechanic on classic cars. One day he is given the chance of a lifetime and grabs onto it with both hands. His first thought is to share his good fortune with Atlanta. These two friends are so comfortable around each other and I love the bantering that goes on back and forth between them. These two are inseparable. Atlanta is happy with her musical career. She loves her fans and doesn’t take them for granted. She also loves to listen to old music. From the very beginning of this story, you read about Dare’s love for Atlanta. From there you begin a journey that touches your heart and soul. You also read of a tragedy that strikes out of nowhere and how it affects Dare, Atlanta, along with their family and friends. Can they find their way back to each other by way of a flight of stairs?
This is the first book I have read by the author and I found myself mesmerized in the story and characters. Once started this is a book not easily put down and I found myself quickly turning pages to find out what happens next. It is also a book that had my emotions on a roller coaster ride. I am glad that I read it and look forward to future books by the author.

Stairs to you, is a stand-alone novel by author Christy Dilg. After reading this incredibly emotional book, I can’t wait to see what other captivating stories this author has to offer.
When I first started reading this book, I thought it was slow starting, and I didn’t really connect with the characters. Then after reading the synopsis of the book and knowing that a tragedy was going to happen, I was constantly waiting for this to happen which made me more apprehensive to really get into this book as I had the feeling it was going to be a heart-breaking event in this book. Boy oh Boy was I in for a shock. The event happened when I least expected it and not in the way I imagined it too. Then from that moment on I couldn’t help but be utterly and truly captivated with this story line, the characters and everything that occurred in this book.
This book was a rollercoaster of emotions ranging from happiness, laughter, anger, sadness, heart ache, heart break. I think for at least a third of the book I was breaking my heart with a constant stream of tears down my face. You could feel every emotion that these characters felt and the pain the anger the fight to get up and face the day every morning, it was unbearable for me to read let alone the feeling that the characters must be going through.
It’s hard to believe that this book covers a time scale of three years. The entire book flows from page after page, chapter after chapter and you never lose the flow or get confused of the time within this book. It didn’t feel rushed and you the detail of events, places and characters are so powerful it stays with you. Dare’s characters really reach you and finds a place in your heart, your read his journey, you feel as though you help him fight his inner demons with him and see his way through the three years.
These two have an amazing connection, even as friends. They are there for each other through everything, break-ups, journeys and successes through life. They share passions and dreams with each other, they share interest which only make them even more compatible with each other. Reading about their relationship it’s hard to believe they are not a couple and that neither one of them have wanted to ruin their friendship, but you can see they have an undeniable connection that they have been denying themselves for a long time. I’m so happy that we get to see their journey together.
My only disappointment which is only just because I enjoy it, is that it’s not written in dual POV’s through numerous occasions I would have loved to see what Atlanta’s thoughts and feeling were and not just Dare’s.
I would also love to read a story about their friend Dani. Of what her life is like during times in this book, and also after the events of this book, what her life and story is about now. I’m afraid to say that how utterly heart-breaking yet brilliant this book and the themes within this book are I’m so glad that these two characters finally got their bittersweet HEA.
If you require a great emotional, read that connects you to the characters and the storyline then don’t miss this read!

This is my first story by Christy Dilg and I know it won't be the last. I can't wait to see what adventure she has for us next. Christy writes where her heart leads her, from erotic to paranormal. She writes to inspire and wants her readers to think about themselves while reading her books. When she is not writing she enjoys reading, hiking, listening to oldies and spending time with her family. This story is a fast paced story that will keep you engaged until the end. It will pull you in from the first word and keep you wanting more. I had a hard time putting this book down and I think you will too. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see what happens with these two best friends
Stairs to you by Christy Dilg is a book that should come with a warning label – read only one equipped with wine and tissues. And be prepared to Ugly Cry!
“Everyone needs love to survive in this world.”
Atlanta has everything she could ever want – an amazing career as the lead singer of a successful band, her own quirky little place above a record store. And her best friend Dare. Friends since they were kids Atlanta has always known him to be there. They talk every day and she doesn’t know what she would do without him. Would she be willing to risk it all to tell him how she feels?
“I only move the stars for me.”
Dare couldn’t be happier. He enjoys his job, he enjoys getting to drive all the exclusive cars the clients bring in. He has great friends he likes spending time with. He loves running the track in any car he can. And he especially loves doing all this with his best friend by his side. In love with her since school Dare holds back on his feelings, worried that Atlanta doesn’t feel the same and that confessing is feelings will only drive them apart.
“It was frightening, heartbreaking and left me breathless.”
One night, and a single song later, and their lives are changed forever. With their emotions out in the open there is only one thing left for them to do; love each other.
“‘Thank you.’ I whisper. ‘For what?’ she asked gently squeezing my hand in hers. ‘For loving me back.’” “‘Atlanta, my entire life has been to love you.’”
But then the unthinkable happens. Tragedy strikes, leaving Atlanta in a coma and Dare with the emptiness of not having her there, with him, as she has always been. Determined to fight for them Dare tries to think of any way in which he can bridge the gap.
“Life isn’t about fairy godmothers and magic wands, but instead it is about living the best life we can.”
From the moment I read the blurb of this book I knew I would love it. And I knew it would touch me emotionally. The first half of the book isn’t quite as well written as the rest, being more matter of fact. But once it kicks in this book will you turning the pages, desperate to find out what is happening while at the same time wanting to slow down so you don’t read it too quick. Even though I also guessed at a lot of what was going to happen it didn’t detract from this story. If anything it actually made it better as it meant even earlier on my heart was in my throat. The only way to make it through this experience is to arm yourself with a box of tissues and hold on for dear life because this is sure to take you on one hell of a ride! A firm favourite and a definite recommendation.
Stairs to You is the first book I have read by Christy Dilg. I am so glad I did. What an incredible author. This books blew me away. These types of books are the ones Iam always eager to read. I never knew what I was getting into until I was in the moment. Stairs to You had a twist in it that I never saw coming. It was a new discovery at every turn of the page.
Dare and Atlanta have been friends for what seems like forever. Dare has two loves. Fast cars and his best friend. He shows his love for cars. He hides his love for Atlanta. Atlanta loves her music and wants to make a career out of it. Here we have 2 people who love what they do and each other. They just don’t share that with each other. Dare and Atlanta are virtually inseparable, and it gets harder for Dare to keep his true feelings for Atlanta hidden. A tragedy occurs just when their story really begins, leaving Atlanta fighting for her life. Stairs to You is a story I never anticipated turning out like it did. I had a box of tissues handy at all times. Heartache and tears were my constant companion for a while.
Atlanta and Dare were just that couple you prayed would make it. They complimented each other perfectly. They went together like peas and carrots. I felt like there could have been so much more to their story. I wanted there to be more. They just had a beautiful way with one another that I could read about for days.
chrisy Dilg is quite the storyteller. I could not have picked the style of her writing or how it would all end. I can honestly say that I have read no other book like Stairs to You. It was captivating and consuming. As far as a new/young adult romances go, this one was a huge hit with me. I stayed awake most of the night to finish this book because I couldn't bear to to put it down until I hit the end. That is a true testament to Christy Dilg’s talent and ability to spin a wondrous and bittersweet tale.
It is always a pleasure to find talented new authors. It is like a gift each time. Christmas arrived early when I picked up Stairs to You. A gripping tale that deserves 5 fantastic stars.
I started reading Stairs to You like any other book I read, no looking at the other reviews, I don’t want to be influenced by anyone other than the author. At about 30% in, I had to know what was going to happen...darn my day job, I just couldn’t read fast enough! So I broke my own rule and read a few other reviews on Amazon and omg I have never wanted to speed read through a book and get to the end so fast. And then it happened. Well more like a couple of things happened. First Dare and Atlanta admit to each other how they truly feel about the other (not a spoiler because I'm not telling you how they feel!) and then the second thing happened and that I can’t share with you but o.m.g. And then there is more. You are going to want to get this book. But first get a box of tissues and speaking of tissues, I wonder how many actually come in a box because that is how I decided on the star rating: 1,000 tissues equals 1,000 stars!
Here are a few more warnings:
Don’t read this book while you are at work, unless you like the puffy eye look and are willing to explain that a book has turned you into a blubbering mess. Of course then you can recommend it to all your friends too!
Be ready to cry. Seriously, this love story is like no other. Soulmates, true soulmates have something more. This story is something more.
Even through the tears you will find some laughable moments:
“My mouth hits the floor. She looks hot. I mean stainless steel gas grill hot.”
And what would a great book be without a little sound advice that you can take with you:
“We aren’t put on this Earth to have everything our hearts desire. That happens only when we go off to the place us humans call heaven. That’s when we live happily ever after. Life isn’t about fairy godmothers and magic wands, but instead it is about living the best life we can until we reach the doors of heaven. Only then, will we be granted everything we ever desired.”
Just wow!
Oh and the writing style is great, characters so believable and real, all the feels here too!
Stairs To You, written by Christy Dilg, is a romance novel set in Nashville, America. It tells the tale of young friends turned lovers Archer Andrews and his first and only true love Atlanta. When they aren’t jamming to old records, Archer is fixing up cars and tlanta is playing gigs with her band hoping to make it to the big time. Although Atlanta loves to tour and live the big city life, she is equally happy in her small apartment on ‘Music Row’ and hanging with friends. Archer comes into the possession of a stunning car and goes racing. You would assume that he is the one who becomes injured, but no, it is Atlanta that falls into a coma after being deliberately run down by a rival driver. The book is very easy to read, being extremely descriptive and full of imagery; I really found myself fully picturing the scenes in my head. It is quite emotional in parts, and will make you consider deep ethical conundrums concerning whether you can ever truly let someone go. I do find the writing a little simple, with short, uncomplicated sentences, but with time the writing can become more developed and have more impact. I question her choice of words at times, thinking other phrasing could have allowed certain paragraphs to flow better. Considering the primary audience for the novel is women, I do find some phrasing by the male characters a little trying, such as ‘I have the woman’, but again, this does not affect the tone of the overall story, as the male lead is so clearly besotted with Atlanta. You do as a reader hold your breath along with Archer, or Dare as he is also known, as we wait to find out if Atlanta recovers from the incident, and if things will ever be the same again. An emotional story, uncomplicated and easy to read. The characters are pretty likable, though could be further developed. The author has promise and will improve greatly if she tries out more experimental writing styles and pushes the boundaries a little more.
Stairs to You by Christy Dilg is a moving story of love and tragedy. Archer and Atlanta have been friends since childhood and, now in their twenties, they continue to spend a huge amount of time together. Archer rarely misses one of Atlanta’s concerts, Atlanta is always up for going to the racetrack with Archer and the two of them spend many happy evenings gaming together in Atlanta’s Nashville apartment.
Archer, from whose perspective the story is told, makes no secret of the fact that he has loved Atlanta since he was a child. He is resigned, however, not to tell her how he feels and accept his place as her best friend. When Atlanta reveals that she has written a song for him, he begins to wonder if there might be some hope for him after all.
The first part of the book is a cheerful story of the love and friendship between Archer and Atlanta, which poses a contrast to the second part of the book. Archer is heartbroken by the tragedy which threatens to take his best friend away from him and overturn his more-or-less perfect life. At a magical heavenly flight of stairs, he is given a chance to talk to Atlanta, who hopes to bring him some comfort. Instead, he becomes increasingly desperate begging her to regain consciousness and come back to him. We see him wasting away, struggling with grief and guilt.
The writing style isn’t perfect - I found the pacing a bit odd at times in particular. I agree with other reviewers that at times the language Archer uses to describe his feelings for Atlanta might make people uncomfortable - he can seem quite possessive at times although in general his behaviour does not reflect this. The theology is pretty dubious and Atlanta seems to verge somewhat on the Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope but the story is good and it’s suitably moving and thought-provoking.
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars. I’d recommend it if you like stories with friendship, music, cars and/or angels.
Christy Dilg has created a masterpiece of a story. Full of friendship, romance, and the determination to overcome in life. Dare has loved Atlanta for as long as he can remember, she is his best friend, love of his life his soul mate. They have been friends they were five years old and to this day he still remembers the day she walked into the playroom and he handed her his transformer. Sixteen years later she still has no clue that Dare is very much in love with her.
Atlanta was now on the way to becoming an accomplished musician and whenever he could Dare would go with her to where ever she was playing. As best friends, they would have one night a week where they would have dinner and play their game station in Atlanta’s apartment. Dare had nursed her through her relationship break ups and would spend the night at her place so he knew she was ok with what had happened. Relationship wise Dare had never had a serious one as none of the women came even close to matching up with Atlanta not that he wanted them to as there was only one woman for him. Dare for the longest time had wanted to tell Atlanta that he loved her, but was worried that divulging this to her would ruin what they had, so he kept it to himself, even though their families and friends knew they were in love and wondered when they were going to do something about it.
Stephen Dare’s ex bully now good friend had put Dare on a dare to tell Atlanta about his feelings, but Dare knew it had to be the right time and right place and only he would know that. Well the right time and right place came one night after Atlanta had finished playing. When she left the stage, he grabbed her around her waist and told her he loved her, to his surprise she told him that she loved him to. With that they shared their first kiss as girlfriend and boyfriend. Both agreed they couldn’t work out why they had not acted on this before.
Stairs to you by Christy Dilg is a sad and heartbreaking story about love. The type of love no one can live without, the type not everyone gets the privilege of experiencing. It’s a story about soul mates and the power that love holds. This is honestly the perfect book to read when you need a good cry, so if you don’t enjoy crying this is probably not the book for you. I experienced so many mixed emotions while reading this one, I felt conflicted, strangely happy, and angry but most of all I felt sad and broken. The ending completely took me by surprise in a good way. This is not a book you’ll want to miss.
Atlanta and Dare have been best friends since they were little; they were inseparable from their first meeting. Their friendship grew as the years went on, but Dare has other plans in mind for them. He has loved Atlanta for as long as he can remember and he’s finally ready to declare his feelings, luckily for him, Atlanta feels the same. Their souls have always been connected but they are finally on a much deeper level. But sometimes things are too good to be true; they’ve only been together for a short amount of time when an accident takes place leaving Dare at a loss. Atlanta is in the hospital holding on to her life while Dare recovers. He can’t picture his life without her but will that choice be taken away from him or will they finally get there happily ever after?
Stairs to you is beautifully written in Dare’s POV. There are many time lapses throughout which normally I don’t like but in this case I loved them and thought they really added to the story. Dare and Atlanta’s love for one another is so strong you can feel it while reading. They really are soul mates and I’m grateful that I was able to read their story. I will definitely recommend this beautiful romance book.
Atlanta Reed a musician living the famous lifestyle, she had been singing since she was eight. She loves fast cars and her best friend Dare...her greatest joy is listening to old music. She loved tattoos and every one that she had had great meaning. She had a bad break up from her last relationship and wasn't looking for anyone else. She already was in love with someone although he wasn't aware of it.
Archer “Dare” Andrews was in love with his best friend Atlanta, they had been best friends since the age of 5, he had the kind of love that defined soulmate, but he never could get up the courage to tell her. They spent most of their time together from listening to old music, him watching her perform, and shared their love of playing video games and racing fast cars at the drag racing track. He loved old cars and had dreams someday of owning one that he could actually race, when one day a beautiful blonde made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
Atlanta and Dare finally let their feelings for each other be known, and in a short amount of time fall deeper in love, when someone from her past does the unthinkable and tragedy strikes it leaves Dare injured and Atlanta in a coma with very little chance of surviving. He tries with everything he has to bring her back…..with a stairway only he can see yet not climb can he bring her back, can they find a way to be together again?
I really liked this book as far as the writing and the way it flowed. It definitely didn't end the way I thought it would or hoped it would but the ending was satisfying for me. The whole story definitely tugged at the heart strings and felt so real as far as the feelings portrayed. This is my first read by this author and I will be checking out what else she has.
Stairs to You by Christy Dilg is a very warming and heartbreaking, complex love story. Dealing with two Individuals who just want someone to love them, completely and totally. I haven't ready anything by Christy before. But I rather enjoyed this book. Even though it was a little sad… it was still very good! It held my interest from the very beginning and got my attention until the end. I was even rooting for the two main characters. Overall, it was an exceptionally well written book with deep and personal characters. Atlanta Reed is your small town girl, with aspirations of being the up and coming famous singer. She strives to be famous and popular. That's all she has ever wanted! She loves the big city life...She enjoys the fast paced, hustle and noisy life. But she does like some quiet time here and there. Stairs to You by Christie Dilg is a four star novel. Archer “Dare” Andrews gets his nickname honestly. When he was a young child on the playground, he was dared to jump off the monkey bars. After chickening out the first time, he decides he will never back down from a dare ever again. He gets back up on the monkey bars, jumps off, and then cries like a baby when he hears his bone snapping and feels the pain radiating into him. He must get his reputation back and not be the sissy that everyone is calling him now. Dare and Atlanta are best friends. He and Atlanta met way back when they were toddlers. He even took up playing the drums to keep himself close to her as they got older because he realized how important music was to her. Even though he hated playing the drums, he would do it for her. They both have the same love for music and spend hours in her uncles record shop listening to the music until they can both feel it in their bones and begin dancing. That is when Atlanta does her best writing. Dare is the only person on the planet who she will share her unfinished songs with. He is her biggest fan and has never missed a concert yet. She has now become famous with her music, having a gold record under her belt, but still loves to play on music row in Nashville still to bring her down to earth. When all of a sudden his two biggest dreams become reality, he knows life is too good to be true. Read what happens next when his life gets turned upside down.
Atlanta Reed and ‘Dare’ Andrews have been friends since pre-school – ever since “she stole his transformer and tried to put at dress on it”. Now they are in their 20s they are still best friends. Dare is following his dream rebuilding classic cars and racing them while Atlanta is a successful musician touring the country and playing local venues in Nashville. Dare harbours a secret love for his best friend but doesn’t dare tell her in case it affects their friendship. When tragedy strikes and lands Atlanta in a coma, what will become of them? Only a flight of stairs separates them. Can true love win through? Stairs to you by Christy Dilg is a heart-wrenching love story that had me laughing, crying, smiling then crying again. It tugs on the heartstrings & the characters are believable & well written. We do not know lots about them, although she is a famous singer they seem to live a normal young person’s life- playing music and video games. The love and strength of their relationship really draws you into the story. I enjoyed the revelation of Dare’s love for Atlanta and her acceptance of it. I particularly liked the idea of them being soul mates. The other characters were not of much consequence to the story as it tended to be mostly about the 2 leads but Camry was a necessary distraction when Dare needed one. I liked the time lapses and the characters’ different perspectives over that time. A thoroughly enjoyable read, recommended if you want to believe in soul mates or you need some good crying therapy…
This is going to be a hard review to write because I do not want to give anything in the book away nor do I just want to recap the synopsis. I am going to try and give this book the kudos it deserves without telling you why.
Dare and Atlanta have been “best friends since we were five” Dare feels that “A life as Atlanta Reed’s friend is better than any life without her.” They live in Nashville and “the best thing about living in Nashville is the music, but everything being nearby is a close second.” They are best friends and soulmates who are both living the dream. He is a mechanic and she is a musician. They are content with their lives and look forward to what is to come. They have families that love them, they do not have dysfunction and their worlds are shiny and bright.
Christy Dilg writes in such a way that had me feeling emotions and things that I just wasn’t ready for. Stairs To You is one of those books that I just know I will read again so that I can absorb something different from it; like those classics you read when you need to pull some emotions from the bottom of your belly. This is the first book I’ve read by Christy Dilg and it seems to be a bit of departure from the other books she has written.
I would recommend this book as a “blind read”, don’t read reviews with spoilers in it. Let the story unfold organically (but based on the fact you have read THIS review all the way through, you are probably looking to find out what happens – you can move along now, because you won’t find it here).
Stairs To You by Christy Dilg is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely won't be the last. The author has such a detailed plot line and character descriptions that you feel like you are right there with them. I was hooked from the first page to the last. The emotions I felt left me laughing and crying (a box of tissues was necessary for me) and rooting for a happy end.

Stairs To You By Christy Dilg ☆☆☆☆☆ A young adult romance story. A complete novel no cliffhangers, but plenty of swoon.
Atlanta Reed is a beautiful singer songwriter who loves old cars and new tattoos. She might date many, but her heart belongs to her childhood best friend. But she does not want to wreck her friendship or lose it forever. As we all know, taking the next step from friend to romance can be a scary event. So there fore she says nothing. Until one night! Atlanta ends up in a coma and life as they know it comes to a crashing stop.
Archer “Dare” Andrews loves two things. Fast old cars and his best friend. In his fear of losing his best friend, he has yet to tell her how he feels. He has never missed any of her concerts, nor will he ever. Dare also works on cars to be close to them. He goes to the track regularly with Atlanta by his side. He has even raced her. They both have an attraction to old records, yes I said old records. Not the C.D.s of today. Something about the old black albums has his heart. Just like Atlanta and her country music. Will Dare and Atlanta find their way back to each other?
Christy Dilg really pulled me into this story. It all goes so well, you are literally waiting for the shoe to drop. Which is does. Then she moves into your heart and opens up a whole new set of feels. Keep the tissue nearby! You are going to need them along with a box of chocolates. Dreams come true, just as hearts are broken. Taking you to the stairway too……...
Stairs to You by Christy Dilg is both a heartbreaking and heartwarming story about two best friends, Dare and Atlanta. These two have been friends since they were five years old. Dare is head over heels in love with Atlanta. He refuses to tell her though, because he fears losing her for good. Dare works on cars and one day is offered the chance of a life time for a car he’s in love with. Atlanta is a wonderful singer who doesn’t want to lose her roots. She enjoys playing small gigs with her band and hanging out with her best friend. These two have shared so much in life. She’s hiding her own secret she’s afraid to share though. When Dare is offered an amazing opportunity she’s beyond thrilled for him. But someone isn’t so thrilled with all the good happening in Dare and Atlanta’s life and tragedy hits. Can these two find their way to each other even in the darkness they find themselves in? This book was an emotional rollercoaster for me. I normally will shy away from books that may leave me a little heartbroken. But this is a well told story and you don’t get the feeling that the heartbreaking parts are unnecessary. I loved Dare and Atlanta’s connection; you can feel the love between them coming off the pages. I give this book five stars, it has love, sadness, laughter and most of all characters you can relate to.
Stairs to You, by Christy Dilg, is a new adult/college story with a twist to the story. Two friends, Archer “Dare” Andrews and Atlanta Reed, have been the best of friends most of their lives. There are two sides to the same coin. Yet, there may be something lurking much deeper that ties these two together more than one or the other ever anticipated.
This story was well written. From reading the synopsis, it barely touches what this story will truly deliver once you dive in and begin reading. The characters, Dare and Atlanta, were heartfelt and polar opposites – yet they worked well together. Life may not always have them on the same page, but when they were together, there was love – whether it was only friendship or the spark of something more. The author did an excellent job in shaping Dare and Atlanta as they lived and breathed. I felt connected to each in different ways, each distinct and pure.
Tragedy comes into the story and it definitely pulls at your heartstrings. How could it not? How the author touches on that and moves forward from it, remarkably done and completely stunning. Truly incredible, remarkable and beyond what I had expected. Just wow!
This was the first book I have read by this author and it has me yearning to read more.
Stairs to You is the first book that I have read by Ms. Dilg and it was great. This is a sweet romance story about best friends and their feelings for each other. The characters are well written and she makes them jump off the page. It is also a story that’s shows the emotions and the roller coaster ride they go on. Archer "Dare" Andrews has a love of two things, classic cars and his best friend, Atlanta. He has always been on the sidelines of both until a beautiful blonde woman proposes an opportunity of a lifetime. Will he be able to tell Atlanta how he feels or will he keep them bottled up?
Atlanta Reed has always wanted to be a musician and now she is living lifestyle from playing on Music Row, to touring the country. This small town girl lives a big city life, except when she in her apartment this is her time where she can be herself and listening to old records.
We get to see the love Dare has for Atlanta from the very beginning of this story. Tragedy strikes and Atlanta lands in a coma. With only a single flight of stairs between them can they find their way to each other?
I am glad that I read it and look forward to future books by the author.
This is a new young adult romance by Christy Dilg. It is a heart-breaking story of a young couple who fell in love with each other separately and final get together after being in the friend zone for many years. However, tragedy strikes when Dare is racing for pinks and place of the county fast car list, just weeks after they final admit that they love each other, and Atlanta ends up in a life-threatening coma. Stairs to You will take you on an emotional journey with moments that will make you laugh, cry, smile and then cry again. It is well written which leads to the characters being completely believable as they try to navigate this difficult story. The strength of the love Dare and Atlanta have for each other is lovely to read and really draws you into the story. Although the focus of the story is mainly on the two main characters, Camry is the catalyst who brings the whole story together, however she kind of dips in and out so we don’t get to learn much about her. This book describes what everyone wishes for, a life after death. In this case, the idea of this allows Dare to cope with and accept Atlanta’s death. A recommended read for those who believe that soulmates will eventually find their way back to each other when they meet at the top of the stairs.
Stairs to You is the first book I've read by Christy Dilg and I was so moved by all the emotion in this book. Archer "Dare" Andrews has been best friends with Atlanta since they were kids and he's always been in love with her. Told in Dares POV this book took you through so much I didn't know which way was up sometimes! Dare has been in love with two things for as long as he can remember, cars and his best friend Atlanta. Atlanta is in a band and has gained some big popularity but tries to stay true to herself. Dare is nervous to spill his feelings and then one night Atlanta sings her heart out to him with a song she wrote. As they are spending time together like he's always wanted, he also is enjoying a lifetime opportunity that just fell in his lap. The night he tries to make a name for himself, is the night his life is changed forever. Without giving anything away, this book took a turn I didn't see coming, since I like to go in blond to be surprised. And I was surprised I was crying and laughing and feeling sorry all at once. Then love between these two was beautiful and shows we do have soulmates. I will be reading more from this author as I haven't been moved like that in a long time!
Stairs to you was for me a so, so book. The story didn't capture me or pull me in. The characters in the book were very well written. The story just wasn't there for me. This is the first book I have read by Christy Dilg and I am willing to read another as maybe this book just wasn't for me. I just didn't get the emotions that were so very present.
This is definitely different than anything I have ever read. This was a love story for sure. I mean a love so profound that Dare would follow Atlanta anywhere. Even if that meant passing over to get his HEA!! Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
So many tears! I think I messed myself up by reading 2 books that made me cry in a row but this one has a surprise ending that I won't spoil for you. It's definitely worth the read. Be prepared for a love that stands the test of time. So emotional and great.
this book was so sad! . he has been best friends with the woman he is in love with for years. she has no clue. than a accident happens that leaves her in a coma. now the test of who will go up the stairs . you must read the touching and heart breaking book.
My favorite line- “ Almost all of them will take the ones they love for granted and waste life on meaningless, material things”. A very emotional tale, this author does a wonderful job expressing the many facets of grief. There is no one spot that grabbed for my attention, but the entirety of the book formed its worth. With so many possibilities and outcomes, I see the reasoning behind this storyline. Definitely a well thought out and beautifully written tale! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Beautifully heartbreaking! I haven’t cried from a book in a long time but this one really got to me. Wow! It was so full of emotion. I loved the characters and everything they’ve been through together.
