His Divine Grace Abhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (अभय चरणारविन्द भक्तिवेदान्त स्वामी प्रभुपाद)was born as Abhay Charan De on 1 September 1896 in Calcutta, India.

He first met his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami, in Calcutta in 1922. Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, a prominent devotional scholar and the founder of sixty-four branches of Gaudiya Mathas (Vedic institutes), liked this educated young man and convinced him to dedicate his life to teaching Vedic knowledge in the Western world. Srila Prabhupada became his student, and eleven years later (1933) at Allahabad, he became his formally initiated disciple.

At their first meeting, in 1922, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura requested Srila Prabhupada to broadcast Vedic knowledge through the English language. In the years that followed, Srila Prabhupada wrote a commentary on the Bhagavad-gita and in 1944, without assistance, started an English fortnightly magazine.

In the last ten years of his life, in spite of his advanced age, Srila Prabhupada circled the globe twelve times on lecture tours that have took him to six continents. In spite of such a vigorous schedule, Srila Prabhupada continued to write prolifically. His writings constitute a veritable library of Vedic philosophy, religion, literature and culture.

After reading the teaching of Kapila from a different school of thought Iwas keen to read the perspectives of Sri Prabhupada and I must say I am thoroughly disappointed.
Firstly, I am of the firm belief that everyone has their perspectives and we should respect the same.
As for he book
1.) this only has the chapter re Bhakti Yoga and does not elaborate on the other chapter that talks about Brahman. Also, how Devahuti attains liberation has been missed out. This, for me , is incorrect
2.) this is not a translation but rather than an interpretation
3. Most importantly, trying to run down other schools of thought like Jnana yoga or Karma yoga is unfair. The basic principle is please expound what your beliefs are and talk about the positives.
I would have left the book mid way but as a principle I decided that I will never leave any book I start midway

When I was reading this book, I bookmarked the remaining four pages of some chapters. Then i started to read from bookmark, it felt like Krishna added fifth page, the reading was getting longer everytime. I was wondered.
And the book is interesting, and is advanced. Basically at times we learn spirituality from unknown sources and we adapt, we follow the generic spirituality. Then books like these are more refined and have more authority on spirituality and spiritual practices.
The few chapters at the end are very nice.

Deludente.

Amazing analysis of important verses from 3rd Canto of Srimad Bhagwatam which form the crux of philosophy discussed between Lord Kapiladeva and His mother Devahuti.

the book title says the teachings of lord Kapila but misses the important teaching of Sankhya yoga completely. please add those sections to make the title less clickbait.
