In a land known as the Four Kingdoms, where mountains hang bottomless above thick clouds, deserts stretch endless under the hot sun and small islands float surrounded by dark seas, the Waterlands threaten to forever steal the peace and freedom of all. Yet there is still one place where peace hangs on the precipice of hope. Here a warrior the size of a small girl fights to defend a blind child. She is the last of her kind and the only hope for peace.

The Outlaw Princesses-that is what they are known as. Sorai and Lena have lived for centuries hiding in the grasslands that border the desertlands.
Sorai has always been her sister's sword and shield as well as her eyes. Lena was blinded as an infant in an attempt to save her life. However, even though she lost her physical sight she kept her gift of the True Sight. Lena is the last living Seer, and that is what drove the girls and their father across the sand and sea searching for a safe place to hide.
The outlaw camp hidden in the grasslands was that safety, until a vision by Lena and a discovery in the desert destroys everything they've built and sets things in motion that will change the future of the Four Kingdoms forever.

Senseless: Mirage is the second book in M. Stone's Tales From The Four Kingdoms series. Don't let that worry you though because they are both standalone books that can be enjoyed separately without feeling lost or confused. I read this one first and had no trouble knowing what's happening, and now I'm starting the first book.
The writing, the story, the characters, everything about this book is extremely well done and takes it to the next level. You feel like another character in the story instead of just someone reading a book. You become completely immersed in the world Stone has created.
I finished Mirage the same day I started it. I tried putting it down but I couldn't stay away long because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. You really are transported and placed right in the middle of this amazing place Stone has created, and I loved every minute of it. If this is any indication, Stone will have a very long and successful career and this is a great way to start. I am excited to see what else she has in store for us and I am waiting semi-patiently for the next book! I'm already ready lol!
