RUTHLESS STEPBROTHER: A Dark Billionaire Secret Baby Romance

Rate this book
He is my stepfather’s son. We share no blood. But we share a sin.

Originally published in German, this dark romance is now available in English translation for readers who crave forbidden love, obsession, power, and a secret that could destroy everything.

For three years, I hid.

For three years, I prayed that Adrian Hart—the ruthless heir to the Hart empire—had forgotten me.

I thought I was safe.

I thought my secret was safe.

I was wrong.

When his father—the man who married my mother—dies, Adrian becomes the most powerful man in Berlin. He is no longer the angry young man I ran from. He is a king now.

Cold. Calculating. Untouchable.

And he has found me.

Now he drags me back into the golden cage I once called home. He wants revenge for my betrayal. He wants control. He wants to own every broken piece of me.

Adrian is my stepbrother.

On paper, we are family.

But in the dark, we were always something far more dangerous.

What he doesn’t know is that the child in my arms is his.

And I will do anything to protect Noah from his father’s darkness—even if it means losing my heart to the monster all over again.

My rating is mainly because I liked the first half of the book.
I approached this book by mere chance; then I started to like it and almost didn't believe my lucky stars. The first half of the novel was a very pleasant surprise; then the story got lost. The author made it over-the-top, full of unlikely action scenes, a deadly secret order, and stuff. Also, the dynamic between the MCs didn't live up to its initial promises (revenge and rebellion), and it quickly became almost sappy.
In addition, I think the book needed more careful editing.
A few things don't add up.
1. At what age did Elena come into the Hurt family? More than once, it is mentioned that he was sixteen years old. And then it is said that she played as a child under her stepfather's desk. ???
2. Krav Maga is a fighting technique designed to kill or seriously injure the other person, to hit vital points.
3. When did Richard (the stepfather) die? Three years after Elena escaped or three days after Elena escaped? Both situations are mentioned in the book. I didn't understand which one is the real one.
4. Elena's mother is a character who seems to have been thrown in just for convenience, but she has no real substance.
5. The villain is a non-believable character who brings on non-believable twists and turns.
6. The MMC transforms his company from a weapons manufacturer or dealer into an environmental technology firm. It rubbed me the wrong way; it was too ridiculous, a kind of tribute to climate change advocates.

In short, if the author had kept the second half of the story simpler, I think it would have been more convincing and perfect.

Evil stepbrother, secret baby, runaway fmc

Enjoyable story with strong characters that you will have strong feelings about. The author did a fabulous job creating such a character worth hating, only to spin you around and make you love him! We are made to feel bad for the situation the FMC is in, but once she starts to stand up for herself you just want her to keep pushing the boundaries. You will find a little bit of everything in this book. You will find some bratva, billionaire, obsessive/possessive mmc, secret society, secret baby

Absolutely loved this book from page 1. Yes Adrian is a manipulative arrogant jerk but he’s also fiercely loyal to Elena. Characters were secretive and strong. Loved the dynamics between Noah and Adrian…can totally picture a child bonding quickly to someone who buys him the world when he’s lived in squalor. The security guard, right hand man Gregor protected the whole family. One of the best books I’ve read this year!!! Twists that I wasn’t expecting. An amazing book
