I love the Beachcomber series with Shana and Dane. They have an investigative business and a somewhat dysfunctional relationship that is very entertaining.

This case begins with a long lost love searching for the one he lost. Nothing is ever as simple as it appears, and this results in a good mystery and some humor, wrapped in a bit of romance.

Stephanie Queen never disappoints and this book is no exception. It is a very enjoyable read that will make you smile. She is on my must read authors' list and I highly recommend this book.

Beachcomber Valentine by Stephanie Queen continues the story of Dane and Shana and the Beachcomber Investigation team. As always there are plenty of laughs and mayhem and action as they set about solving crimes on the sleepy island. The game continues between our main characters as Dane thinks he is too old and is still somewhat gun shy of relationships, but poor ol’ Cap ends up being the man in the middle with these two. I love the twists and turns because you don’t always see what is coming. I look forward to continuing the adventure.

Even without reading the earlier books, I got a good feel for Shana and Dane as a couple. They’re strong, stubborn, and full of sparks. The novella is engaging, though some scenes were hard to picture due to sparse detail. There were a few typos, and I’m not sure why the f-word was bleeped out with an em-dash, but other curse words were properly spelled out. Also, the story ends on a cliffhanger, but it’s clear that the resolution is meant for a future installment.
This is a quick, enjoyable read for fans already invested in the series.

I really enjoy this series. Stephanie Queen does a terrific job with this couple -Shana and Dane. The reads are all fun and this one is no exception. The couple own an investigative service and there are always twists and turns I rarely see coming. I wouldn't call them cozy mysteries, but they are fun reads none the less. The story is ok, I just don't care for "filler" novellas. This one really does nothing to advance our characters and I've about decided nothing ever will. Now I just read it for the mystery and try to ignore the Dane and Shana angst that is going nowhere.

Ok, but I expected more of this story having read the previous ones 🤔

The bet was accepted, and Dane and Shana are off to find their special dates for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. All does not go as planned and they end up with another case that tests their partnership and relationship. Their good friend, Cap, ends up in the middle of their mess and it’s a rip roaring good time for all. This is a quickie, quirky, yet intriguing, novella that I found perfect for an evening of quiet reading.
